This is NOT the place for you if you don't know what's wrong with your car. They have lost their ability to diagnose a vehicle over the years. This is, however, the place if you need something like an oil change, lightbulb replacement, battery replacement, brake job, or just about any other thing where you know exactly what you want done or you know what the problem is. They don't do well with specialized and or slightly complex car problems. For example, if your AC isn't working what they should do is test the system for leaks, see if there is any contamination in the system before adding refrigerant, etc. What they actually will do is just add $200 worth of refrigerant into the system and see if that works. If your AC system was contaminated or the AC compressor was innoperable before they added the refrigerant then you just waisted $200. Another example is that if your car isn't running properly they will suggest changing parts instead of diagnosing the problem and determining which parts do/don't need to be changed. I'd recommend using them for minor repairs (headlights, oil changes, tires, brakes) and would leave real repairs to professional mechanics. They are clutch for minor repairs. These mechanics are in over their head when it comes to more complex/specialized repairs and or diagnosing repairs like AC systems, transmissions, clutches, shocks, engine repairs, etc. read more

It was nice to trust I found a shop with high integrity to leave my car for a few days...considering my breakdown happened on a Friday night. They have a private yard for serviced vehicles and a great big shop that's well laid out. Ken was calmly wrapping things up for the weekend when I arrived after-hours, and made time to tell me the shop history while simultaneously gifting some treats to a neighborhood dog. I get anxiety when relying on a mechanic to fix anything mechanical on my car. I bought my 2013 Dodge Journey used from CarMax back in 2015 and had my first serious mechanical fixes this year, in 2023. For reference, I live in the city, so I drive minimally. I just hit 50,000...pretty good for a 10 year old car. After some research, I felt I trusted A & A the best. What I thought was a shock issue, ended up being a brake issue. They also fixed my oil pan which happened to be leaking. I get my oil changed at Fullers, and I'm surprised that no one ever happened to mention my oil leak. Received great same-day service here on 8/19/19. Had a fuel leak from a hose that was producing a strong gas smell, they found it and replaced it at a good price. However one of the workers here opened my emergency kit and stole my waterproof carbon pen. I kept it right by the driver's seat and knew exactly where it was when I left, and when I got back, lo and behold... Wouldn't think someone would open a sealed bag of emergency bleed control supplies but here I am. Shame on him and I hope management is more mindful of hiring honest employees because it undermined an otherwise flawless transaction. Take extra caution to watch your belongings. read more

They are mechanics, auto mechanics, and they are justifiably proud of that. Don't expect computer print outs or a minimalist, glass and steel waiting room where you can get a latte. You get your vehicle repaired here. That's it. No frills. I had a slow leak on my tire, and I saw that I had a nail in it. I called up A&A and the guy said that he had some availability if I could be there in the next 15 min. I got there, told him the problem, and he took the car and said come back in a little while. When I came back, he said that I needed new tires. He said that "he couldn't fix it", but the tire was fully inflated and would remain so for several weeks until I got new tires The guy offer an EXTREMELY reasonable price for his time. Worst customer service ever! Soo Rude! Took my car in this morning, and explained what needed to be looked at and the guy at the counter KEN was sooooo rude. He seemed annoyed for some reason and gave an impression that he didn't want to talk to me. Couldn't even spare 2 minutes to listen to what was wrong with the car! Just kept asking me to park it and leave the keys with him. How are you going to diagnose the problem if you don't know what it is? He was in a rush and could not be bothered. I told him "I'm planning on going on a road trip next month", I asked if he could just do a quick inspection to make sure everything else was ok (in addition to the issue I went there for), he blew up in my face and told me to "plan my shit better!" Really?! This is just 3 minutes of me being there. Maybe he was having a bad day, but that's not how you treat customers. I decided to take my car elsewhere after this unfortunate interaction. I don't know if they're good mechanics. I can't speak to that since I was never given the chance to judge, but this first impression was enough for me to decide not to give them my business. They should consider having someone more personable deal with customers. Additionally, and I'm sad to say this, but I believe the interaction was fueled by racial hatred. The guys at A & A are straight shooters. I explained what I needed to have checked out and that is exactly what I got. My battery wouldn't hold a charge for more than a week after sitting on the street. I expected a bad battery but wanted to be sure. They ran the tests on the battery and alternator for $12 (another shop near by was going to charge $25 just to test the alternator). That's a damn good deal to figure out exactly what I needed before planning my next move to AutoZone for a free replacement. These guys come from a lineage of mechanics and have a great personality.
