BE CAREFUL! So my daughters car was stolen today. Tell me what you think of this. 2 weeks ago she had a tire blowout, when the tow truck driver dropped her and the car off, he goes "I lost your keys. I can't find them" Now her car is stolen from her home with no broken glass or anything. The tow company never called to say they found the keys either. Weirdly they disappeared from his truck. So, Funny thing is we got lucky after all this because we have proof of who stole the car I'll post about it next week. read more

I was stranded with a disabled vehicle in a dangerous spot(constant oncoming fast traffic) and Carlos with A&B Towing made sure that I was protected at all times while he tended to my car to get it started and out of traffic asap. My vehicle broke down this evening on the way home from work. I utilized my AAA Roadside Service and they sent Michael from A & B. Michael arrived 25 minutes before the estimated time originally provided. My vehicle should typically be hauled on a flatbed, but can go on a traditional tow truck for short distances at a slow speed. Michael took the time to securely hookup my vehicle and take it to my mechanic. Once we arrived at the mechanic, he politely asked me to contact my ride and offered to wait until they arrived so that I wasn't left in a potentially unsafe area late at night. I would absolutely recommend the driver and towing company again! read more

Not one to write many reviews but had to leave one about my experience yesterday with A&B. Full day at the office and walk out to the car and get a 'do not drive' code flashing... not thrilled. Called AAA and A&B was dispatched. Assumed I'd have to deal with the 'typical' towing company but was pleasantly surprised. Sam from A&B showed outstanding customer service from start to finish. Texted me status on the way. Arrived with a smile on his face and ready to help. Showed great care in loading my car on the truck and confirmed all details for a successful drop off at the dealership service dept. Told me he would let me know when he had left it and he actually called me personally to let me it had been dropped off and the service tech who accepted it. This is the letter that I sent to A&B Towing to express my concerns with their service: July 17, 2014 A and B Towing 2956 Randolph Costa Mesa, CA 92626 Dear Sir: On Tuesday July 15th around 10 am I experienced a flat tire on the 55 freeway in Costa Mesa. I pulled off the freeway to safety and quickly called AAA for assistance. At 10:16 they dispatched your company to assist me, informing me that the tow truck would arrived by 10:46. Your driver, Jon, arrived at 11:12 after being delayed on a previous call. I understand that things can take longer and since we were safe, I had no problem with that. I did however have a problem with the way Jon handled the call and treated me and my daughter. As a business owner, I think you should know this and that is why I am taking my time to bring this to your attention. When he arrived, he refused to believe that my 2006 Mazda Miata did not come equipped with a spare tire. I explained to him that according to the owner's manual, Mazda provides an emergency sealant kit in the trunk to address flat tires. Obviously, this wasn't the best alternative, but this is what was available to us. He still didn't believe me and proceeded to rummage through the tiny trunk and under the chassis looking for a tire. He called someone on his phone to confirm there was no spare and he asked to review my owner's manual. He finally conceded that there was no spare tire so I asked him to either use the emergency sealant kit or to provide an adequate amount of air from the compressor on his tow truck to allow me to drive 2 miles to America's Tire on Bristol. Jon had no idea how to use the sealant kit and did not have adequate air on his tow truck to inflate my flat tire. As a result, he towed my Miata 2 miles to the tire dealer who replaced the tire. During the course of this interaction, his attitude toward me and my daughter was condescending, as if we couldn't possibly know what needed to be done to resolve this flat tire. After he hooked up my car, we had to stop in the middle of Paularino Avenue because he forgot to tie a rope to the steering wheel. Once we started to leave, he then proceeded to run the red light while making a left from Paularino onto Bristol. The light was yellow, with two cars in front of him before he ever reached the limit line. It was red when he reached the limit line. His actions endangered me, my daughter and my Miata. I rarely use AAA Emergency Roadside Assistance service but when I do, I have come to expect a level of quality and performance that encourages me to renew my membership every year. I have been an AAA member for the past 36 years and this is not the type of service that is acceptable. I'm sure that your company has earned the respect of the community and the contract of AAA by providing exemplary service. This was not your finest hour and I hope that you will take my experience to heart and use it as a teaching lesson for your employees. Thank you for your time. read more

We called AAA after my husband had been hit by a hit-and-run driver. We were told A & B would respond "in minutes". After waiting 45 minutes or so, we called A &B and were told they had assigned a truck who was currently on a call. So we waited another 45 minutes and nothing. We called again and were connected to the driver who was still in Whittier. We were 45 minutes away in Costa Mesa. No other options were given to us. Why they assigned us a driver so far away I don't know. After this, we still waited, as we had no other options at the time as AAA couldn't find anyone better. After another long period, we called AA and told our call had been cancelled by A & B. We have no idea why. So thanks A &B for leaving my poor husband on a hot street corner after a traumatic experience. We will not ever use you again. WORTHLESS. Our insurance company, who we called an hour later, got us a truck eventually -- faster than A&B anyway. read more

Driver showed up early to transport my BMW which died in garage from non-use to my mechanic. He was courteous and safe (wore mask and kept distance). He offered alternatives and tried jump starting. Carefully loaded onto flat bed and delivered safe and sound. Very reliable. read more

Carlos from AB towing saw my car broken down on a very busy street across from the airport. I ran out of gas and couldn't push my car to the gas station. Carlos saw and hopped out of his truck to help. He gave me enough gas to start my car so I could safely get to the station. Didn't charge me a cent, just did it out of the kindness of his heart. Nelson(??) I think it was his name.....fri, 5/18 @ 5pm....AM/PM Baker & 55. I had been having starting problems since the night before...as it would not start wouldn't even turn or "click".....a competing AAA contractor towed me thurs nite/early fri morn.....then the guys at Pep Boys took a look Friday. They finally got it started....and not an hour later...same problem. Probably 6 people in all investigated to one degree or another, all said it was battery (slightly low, but not dead), starter, or something else. Now I am thinking I am gonna need to tow it to dealer (ugh)...and they don't even look at cars until Monday.....I can handle one wasted Friday....but now....the whole weekend? The dread was thick. I showed Nelson the problem, he looked at my alarm....turned it off and boom....Problem fixed. Under 20 seconds. Boom. Mic drop. LOL The amazing thing is he's a tow guy...he's paid to tow, not troubleshoot. Yet he did better than the previous clods. I tipped him, of course......BTW.....It's ok to tip your tow guy if he does a good job......I hope the rest of you out there are. =) read more
