It had nice flaky layers, was large for the price and the peach filling was perfect. My only gripe was the cinnamon bun was too dry. Only the very middle was moist, it needed more butter throughout. They have tons of desserts and full sized cakes for all under $28. Great value here.

They didn't have black ribbon so I added ribbon afterwards myself - fun tip. I wish the heart shape of the cake was more pronounced. The shape looked very circular and the frosting was off white, more light yellow looking (hard to tell in the pic cause I edited the color of the picture) the cake was delicious though so made up for this. The bakery is in a busy area of East Greenwich on Main Street. You can find street parking but be sure to go early if picking up during prime time.

The dough is not even a fourth of an inch thick causing the ingredients to totally wet the dough and it becomes inedible. Whoever heard of making a calzone this way. Threw everything in the trash. Plus they are way overpriced for a "piece" of a wet calzone. I also bought a Fruit tart. Same thing...crust at the bottom was wet and very little taste with over-ripened fruit. They should have been thrown away, not sold for over $6.00. I also went there a while back and bought a Blueberry pie to take to someone's dinner party. When the pie was cut, nothing but blueberry juice came out...no Blueberries. It was quite embarrassing and quite expensive to boot. I called about the pie and spoke to a very arrogant woman who said they had never had any complaints about their pies! I told her that this was a major slip up on her part and I wouldn't be back. She hung up on me! Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money there. Go to the Original Italian Bakery instead. I do not know how DeLuise stays in business but this probably explains why there are so few cars ever there.

The bakery has a small parking lot with about half a dozen spots. A policeman was on duty today to direct cars to the Walgreen parking lot next door when this lot was full, and to let them in when spots were open. As the line of people waiting outside the door to get in was constant, this was very smart planning and much appreciated. Some folks seemed to know St. Joseph's Day was very busy here and had placed orders in advance. These smart shoppers skipped the line and quickly came back outside with their orders bagged up. The line moved pretty well with four shop assistants helping customers. Only about 10 guests, max, fit inside at a time. Once inside bagged breads like sandwich rolls were on shelves while calzone and other meal pastry were in a case. Then, there were three cases full of zeppola. During our visit they had chocolate, pistachio, ricotta and original available. We got one of each. I cut my first zeppola in half and see the cream filling sits all the way down into the pastry. These are firm enough to hold in your hand and bit into. The pastry is very much like that in an éclair. Firm while being light and airy. The original filling is a lovely custard. The chocolate is a fluffy cream base I believe. Both were very tasty. I have two more to try and am looking forward to them. Between these tasty pastry and other items they had for sale there, we'll be back. You should check them out too.
