I brought my 2006 BMW 325i to A&R Automotive with 4 broken engine mount bracket bolt that were stuck in the engine/transmission body. If anyone understand how bad this issue is, you will appreciate what A&R Automotive can do. I told them this is not an easy one because of the tight space to work with and the broken bolts are aluminum, so welding an extension to the stuck bolts is not an option, still they took the job without hesitation. A day later, Rene called me and told the issue was fixed. And best of all, the repair cost was VERY VERY REASONABLE, the reason I am saying it is because I know a thing or 2 about car repairs, and this task is not for the faint of heart, Rene and his team did it. First time going here and I'm impressed how great they worked on my truck. I was trying to do the alignment and oil change unfortunately I couldn't do the alignment done due to some issues with my truck, but I liked how they explained me what was going on and what I needed to do in order to fix it. They showed me underneath my truck what was going on this is something not everyone does, usually they only tell you what they found and you don't see if it's really that bad. When my car first starting acting weird, I got really worried about not knowing where to take it. Whenever my car slowed down or came to a complete stop, it would jerk furiously as if the engine wanted to turn off. It was still drivable but I knew I had to get this fixed immediately since this was not normal at all. A&R closes their shop at 6 but with me also getting off of work at 6 I had to figure something out. I took off a little early one Friday and also let them know if it was okay to come in a little after six. They were very nice about it did not mind at all. On Sat morning they called me around 9 and specifically let me know what was wrong. I let them fix it and by 12:30pm they had it ready for pick up! I'm extremely happy with their fast service and also their understanding of my situation. Since then my car has been running beautifully. I had a bad experience! The guy gave me an option to bring my own parts and caught an attitude when I chose to do so. Since he wanted to charge me $250 for an inferior starter which he says is not as good as the $350 option I knocked him out of his mark up on the part. I found it at O'Reilly for $143. He then later charged $75 for a diagnostic fee that he originally told me would be waved if I let them fix the truck. I was confused. He said that they have a notice up that says if you bring your own parts you will be charged desperate for diagnostic. The notice was typed on a small 8" by 11" sheet of paper which he never turned my attention to. I will never go back. They are all about draining pockets!. read more

My elderly Mother had gone to Firestone and been given an estimate for $1400 that was absolutely ridiculous for thee work they said needed to be done. I asked someone at O'Reilly's if they knew an honest mechanic. They suggested A and R. This was close to 20 years ago. We went and met Salvador and Rene. They looked her car over and did all the work for under $400. They told us that the majority of the work Firestone wanted to do was completely unnecessary. It was very refreshing to find guys who were honest in the automotive field. We have brought countless cars and referred many people to them over the years and nobody has ever been dissatisfied. They are very bright, know their business and have integrity. That is something hard to find in our society today. If you need auto work done, these are the guys. Had taken my car to Pep Boys because my car had been running badly. They replaced plugs and wires and said their diagnostic said everything was fine. Took the car back a week later and it was running worse than before. Once again their diagnostics showed nothing wrong. Asked them if they drove the car and they said in the parking lot. Friend told me about A and R. Explained situation to Sol. He had someone go with me in the car, dropped me off and DROVE the car back. Less than an hour later they called and said the fuel pump needed to be replaced. Process started at 1 and my car was ready at 5:30. Car runs perfectly. Have already told others about Sol and Rene. Pep Boys is 5 minutes from me and A and R is 16 miles away. Will never go to Pep Boys again. read more

One of my friend recommended them as they were cheap . Took my car there, at first they seem to take care of you as you are new customer. It is a small place run by brothers. Got my car fixed, but just less than a month have same issues again (they are not cheap). They replaced all 4 struts and mounts(Brand new from Autozone) and still after a month same issue. It seems that the guys actually talking to you on the front desk are not the one fixing your car. Bottom line, they did not do a good job even after I spent a fortune. read more
