Where to begin. My friend called to make my appointment here and had them on speaker. The lady spoke rudely to my friend so I grabbed the phone and kindly replied that yes my wedding is in August and yes this is my first time trying on wedding dresses. While I was on the phone I did mention I would have family come with me. (To her defense I don't believe I mention the amount of people in my group). However at no point did she say it would be a problem I took the very first appointment of the day. The shop opened and as I walk in we were greeted by a nice lady (who simply opened the shop and perhaps was organizing the store) We waited to actually meet who would be helping me. A couple minutes pass and the lady walks up with out even saying hello. The first words out of her mouth were "only three people" I giggled and said excuse me? I thought she was making a joke. She then repeats herself saying only three people are allowed in the store because it is too small. At that point I said okay, thank you anyway. In the future I recommend you mention this over the phone when someone is making an appointment. She claimed to have said it over the phone which in fact was a lie. She raised her voice, making everyone feel extremely uncomfortable. She also said it is written on her website so I should have known. However when we spoke the first time I mentioned that I found her through Instagram (I had never even looked at her website) Overall I completely understand if that is the policy they have however there was clearly a much better way to have handled the situation. (Not the way I was hoping to start my wedding dress shopping day) but everything worked out a million times better after that we ended up at Panache Bev Hills where we were greeted with smiles and champagne! Samantha and her team were an absolute delight and made me feel like a goddess! I flew from Vegas to try on dresses and from my first phone call with Samantha, I knew she would be great to work with. When we got there, we had the entire store to ourselves (thanks covid) and we talked for a moment about what I envisioned for my wedding day. She pulled 6 or 7 dresses for me to try on. All were stunning but two truly stood out and were WOWing. Since I didn't have my friends to weigh in on the dress (just my mom) I tried to call a few of them to get their perspective. Only one of them picked up and gave great feedback. Samantha then Facetimed her mom, who then made me feel even more amazing. I honestly had the best time with Samantha. I did not purchase a dress, I'm actually still deliberating since my original venue fell through. Mind you , no one else was in the store and no one told us there was a store policy on how many people can be in the store at once. I highly don't recommend this store for dress shopping, not a lot of different options, rude employees, service is obviously not that great. Samantha is absolutely wonderful! I found this place by looking up the designer that I was interested in. They didnt have the exact dress when I first went, but she recommended few that are by the same designer to try out the feel and others that she felt was similar in style. She was very very patient and conversational throughout the whole process. Due to many reasons, I had to go through this dress picking process by myself, i was pretty scared since this is quite a big deal and felt a bit awkward walking in. But she made it very welcoming and comfortable, most of all she was so encouraging and supportive!!! I really really loved working with her!!! I ended up buying the dress that I wanted from the catalogue. It was a very scary decision! But it was a great one!! I have so much to say about working with Carmen!! First off, to every bride. TRUST YOUR INSTINCT. I am not an easy person when it comes to style or fashion. I have a very clear idea of what I want. I could care less what is on trend. When I first came into the shop (1 month after being engaged), it was by complete coincidence. I called 15 minutes after seeing that it was so nearby to an appointment that I was already at. Thank God for this little taste of fate. Upon meeting both Samantha and her mother Carmen I didn't know what to think. I was open to the idea of dress style, but I knew I wanted separates. I would later find out how rare being shown anything "separate" truly was. After taking a quick browse around and being led quickly to look at Julie Vino, I decided I would try the top on, but I asked if there was something they could show me that was different, something eccentric maybe for the bottom? Carmen immediately pulled a dramatic, really cool high to low organza skirt off the rack and suggested I mix and match. I described in detail how I pictured my hair, the shoes and what I wanted the overall "look" to be- a female superhero. Julie Vino was decidedly too "revealing" for my taste but the idea of the wonderwoman-like top combined with a super structured skirt stayed with me. I remember leaving the shop and Carmen warning me if I was interested I had to give her at least 3 months for the order. Many many, many many many months passed. I was stubborn. I only went to one other shop to try on dresses and scoured the internet instead. (not including Sax bridal in LA who told me they had nothing for me because my tastes were - direct quote - "too avant-guard") I struck up a relationship with a designer in the Ukraine who worked with me for over a year to create a look that I loved. Unfortunately, when it arrived the pieces did fit properly or even go together. My mother was beside herself. Threatening and actually purchasing a back-up dress of her choice as a last resort, I let her do as she pleased while I stuck to my guns. It was scary. I had zero backup and we were less than a month and a half from the Thailand destination wedding date! I thought about Carmen and how she just "got me." I remembered that while I was in the shop the first time after describing what I was after she said if I went for it, I would be one of her favorite most daring brides she ever dressed. I called and sent an email requesting an immediate appointment and to my surprise after sending a quick photo via text Carmen agreed to see me. I loved the top I had, however the workmanship and fit left a lot to be desired... I was scared about how I was supposed to find a bottom that in any-way matched the top. Luckily for me (though I'm sure Carmen is still swearing under her breath about it) the Ukrainian designer had made a veil which I had hoped to use more as a photo prop with the elephant we were going to take pictures with at the wedding. This veil had the same elegant lace edging that was used on my top (IT WAS GLUED DOWN AND SEWN TO CARMEN'S HORROR) and Carmen suggested creating a custom short skirt with an overlay of the lace on the edges to tie the pieces together. Then the overskirt piece that I loved when I first came in would be the finishing wow factor. I had no other options. No plan B. It was a difficult thing to walk in ALONE and make the decision to sign an agreement that held everyone harmless, with no take-backs! But a little voice inside my gut told me to trust and have faith that this woman knows what she's talking about. Honestly, I had not read previous reviews. I had not visited their shop website, I did very little investigation. Instead, I happened to be at the right place at the right time and find the 100% RIGHT WOMAN TO COME TO MY RESCUE. No words can describe my gratitude. Not only did she manage to create a short skirt (that did not ride up - and I danced my ass off) from scratch and know the exact shades of white to use for just the right contrast, but the overskirt was cut and primped (horse-hair removed just for me because I didn't love the way it stood up) No detail was left untouched. The top was entirely "groomed" - new darts added, lace additions to coverup unsightly lines in the mesh and silver under-layer, the zipper was redone entirely in nude so as not to show. It was a complete overhaul and I don't know what I would have done without this visionary couture expert on my side!!! From one artist to another Carmen - THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART thank you for helping me take my dreams and make them a reality, for believing in what I wanted, and not compromising when my parents (via facetime) were not on board. I have never seen them both in happier shock at the outcome!! You are my angel and my bridal savior. HORRIBLE. If I could give them 0 stars I would! The worst customer service ever! It's unfortunate that they do not know how to properly communicate without harassing their customers. Save yourself time (and money) and don't bother coming here, they're are not worth the time or energy especially on a day that is supposed to be a beautiful and memorable experience. RESPONSE: Hi Samantha, I did not have the pleasure to meet you, and if you were there I have a feeling you'd reprimand your staff. I'm not sure what you are taking about since you did not meet me and you were not there. I am aware of the policies, everyone made them very clear- also with follow up harassment text messages and voice mails. Completely unprofessional. That is no way to treat ANYONE. It also does not excuse the rude behavior or your excuse of me "not knowing the policies" perhaps you should invest in a customer service class for your staff (you should attend as well) because I have NEVER been treated that way. Samantha inboxed me this message: "I am not sure who you think you are but please stop harassing myself, my staff and my store. Following up with you is a part of our job. Judging a 70 year old woman and then complaining about it is harassing and rude." Dear Samantha, I was a paying customer that was kicked out for no reason, we were profiled, looked up and down, never greeted. Instead your employee walked to the back of the store after telling us to leave. The cleaning lady was very sweet and apologized while we walked out disappointed. "Who do I think I am"? (Prior to finding Samantha, I had not one, but two horrible experiences at Panache bridal in Pasadena and in Beverly Hills. I ended up crying for weeks not knowing where to turn. I was feeling the pressures of my wedding and I was tired of bridal stores pushing dresses down my throat that I did NOT want. Panache in Pasadena actually would not allow me to be in the showroom - I had to wait in my dressing room while they picked dresses for me! What?!? This experience got my spirits down immediately.. ) Then I stumbled upon Samantha and Carmen by watching the morning news where they were featured as 'the best bridal store for a complete experience' - I thought "there's no way they'll take me as a client! My wedding was in 4 weeks - I'm a mess and I'm sure they are booked anyway." I called the store anyway and Samantha kindly said to me, "I will make time for you today if you can come in." I cried. She heard my worry and defeat and embraced it! When I arrived, Samantha and Carmen gave me their undivided attention and time to ask detailed questions about my wedding, my target vibe of the wedding, the location and most importantly MY vision for my dress. These details quickly gave them an avenue of direction. I tried on many dresses and I still had not seen my vision. Samantha then said, "I can create your vision for you." She grabbed a pencil and sketch pad and drew on paper, my dream dress. I was in awe. Samantha was going to make me a custom dress in just 4 weeks ... Samantha brought fabrics in, took measurements, spent even more time making sure her notes were flawless (due to my time constraint, no mistakes could be made). Samantha made a few phone calls to her designers in New York explaining the design and the fabrics (which were rare fabrics apparently) and then we waited for a few minutes - the confirmation came back that the dress could be made with the chosen fabrics just in time for my wedding date! It was a rush order, like a double rush order actually. My mind was racing "did I just find an angel?!" Samantha went above and beyond for little me - why? It was apparent to me in that moment - she LOVES her brides and she LOVES making dreams come true for mothers and brides. Samantha and Carmen get it...they just get the meaning of beautiful and bring dreams to life tenfold. Samantha and Carmen were both at my first and only fitting - they hand stitched a mesh at the chest and neckline for me that was not a part of the original design and she added adorable buttons down the back as a gift to me. Samantha brought in a veil at my fitting (I hadn't even thought about a veil yet due to the stress) and it matched my dress perfectly. I couldn't believe it Samantha attended my wedding and made sure everything we perfect before I walked down the isle. Samantha and Carmen are light workers who understand the full picture as well as the dreams of their brides and mothers. They bring the vision to reality. My mother in law also rushed in and purchased a mother of the groom custom gown ... Carmen was polite with her body type and was gentle while addressing my mother in law's concerns and doubts. HORRIBLE! Look at my photos to see how these women not only DESTROYED my wedding dress but my entire dress experience. On several occasions I went to the store for a fitting and the work that was measured in the previous appointment was not even started, which WASTED HOURS upon hours of my time. I was criticized in front of other customers for the incredible Charlotte Olympia shoes I chose, Carmen said I was ruining my dress because I went with shoes that were red and gold and black. She even said she couldn't believe it. Nice. I went in one day after a brief tanning session (this was NOT a spray tan, I showered, there was no product on me) and SHE MADE FUN OF ME telling me my face was all red. Again, super nice. I was rushed through a number of my fittings, things I said were IGNORED, the work was done very rushed and SLOPPILY (see photos), like using kitchen scissors (yes, in front of me too, the ones with the orange handles) to CUT the strap hems and bustle ribbons when they were not at the right height, which in the end created VISIBLE HOLES in the dress as a result! The bustle was never right, I tried the dress on and it just looked like a big mess, they had destroyed the elegance of the dress. Even when tied up there were parts that were hanging down and I was stumbling over it, asking myself how the hell am i going to dance my first dance with my husband in this dress... But they YELLED AT ME and told me that they had done enough adjusting and that because it was free so I should be happy. Samantha kept repeating that they were all working "so hard" to please me. Seriously, this alteration job was a hem, a strap shortening and a bustle (comprised of 5 very thin ribbons sewn on in a hurry); the first two are almost negligible they are so straightforward and easy and then the bustle, they obviously have no idea what they are doing. They royally screwed it up. What's even more unbelievable is that in an effort to excuse their difficult time getting this done Samantha and Carmen both told me that the dress, which I had purchased (and already hemmed and cut - so too late to change my mind) was actually never meant to have a bustle. Oh, nice to tell me now! How do I walk or dance with 4ft of fabric behind me? Why not tell a bride she's going to have an issue with a bustle BEFORE purchase? But honestly, of course it is meant to have a bustle, any dress with a train or a circle (what mine was) can...that is, if you know about bustles. And I would have gladly paid to get this done right but having wasted so much time with these women I had run out of options. Upon picking up the dress and bringing it home I noticed more things that had gone wrong. The bustle was UNEVEN, the ribbons inside were not measured out properly, and they were just haphazardly placed, the left side sewn on a good 6INCHES closer to the center than the right side. I know a lot of people that work in women's fashion so I had a friend of a friend who works at V.Wang as a seamstress look at the work and a friend who used to work at C.Herrera also as a seamstress in bridal dept. and they both said that it was not a proper bustle, not even close and it was super CHEESY...not to mention looked HORRIBLE (especially from a seamstress' perspective who knows how things are supposed to look) it was uneven and droopy in some places and pulling in others. Bride NIGHTMARE. Well, at least when I'm walking down the aisle it will look good. THINK AGAIN: when the bustle was down it wasn't good either because the lace on the outside got gathered in with the stitching of bustle ribbons from inside and the lace was all uneven and pulling and creating folds that were not meant to be there. The loop they sewed to the bottom center of the dress was actually centered BUT it was longer than the dress so now in all my pictures walking down the aisle there is a little loop hanging off the center and it looks like a tag or a mistake or something. After the wedding I emailed Samantha in a professional manner but I was stern in my disapproval of how the dress was treated, and stated these concerns. I wasn't asking for a refund, or more free work (yeah right no thank you) or anything, I was only wanting to let them know what happened and have them acknowledge it. I emailed after the wedding because I didn't want to focus on these issues before because there was no time to fix anything and I just didn't want to focus on anything negative, it was all too upsetting. She told me that my emailing her was "verbal abuse", once the dress leaves the store they take ZERO responsibility for it. She told me the holes were made from use, when it is clear they were made from where previous bustle ribbons had been cut off. I said that if she would not acknowledge these problems perhaps the Yelp community would. She threatened me telling me our correspondence had been sent to her LAWYER who "WILL PURSUE FURTHER ACTION". I'd like to first start by saying the level of kindness and prompt service is amazing! I found Samantha through research, since I was set on Paloma Blanca Bridal Gown ... and trust me her collection of Paloma gowns was amazing. I scheduled an appointment, and was a little nervous but felt completely at ease when Samantha called AND emailed to confirm, plus assured me she had multiple dresses ready for me to try ... including the exact gown I was considering. I was greeted by Carmen, and in addition to a few designs similar to what I was looking for, she assured me that anything I would like is custom fit as well. At the end of what felt like forever, I finally said yes to a custom gown created by Samantha ... They took over 10 measurements to make sure everything was perfect, then scheduled out additional fittings with Peter (their tailor) to ensure the dress would be exact for my wedding (especially since I planned to lose weight before then). Over the course of time Samantha helped with not only the gown fitting, but also have suggestions for planning my entire wedding! Thanks to here we settled on a venue, chose appropriate colors, and even the perfect bridesmaid dresses. I would highly recommend A Bride By Samantha to ANYONE. I was so surprised at the way we were treated from the moment we walked in this store. Our party wasn't even greeted, the very first thing we were told without even greeting us first was "there's too many people! I couldn't believe she was telling us to leave because there was more than 2 people...Really? Who goes dress shopping with just 2 people? (The store was empty too mind you) now I know why it was empty, you get treated like less than nothing here. Carmen and Samantha are super nice! They give you honest opinions with an expert eye and have a gift for knowing what styles you will look best in. I got a custom dress done with them and they have been great to work with so far. They gave me exactly what I was looking for and the fit was perfect the very first time I tried it on. We are still in the process of working on the details and they are very accommodating with my ideas. Their seamstress is great and Carmen has been doing a lot of the details by hand. I was expecting them to add on detail work and I don't think they expected to, eventhough similar dresses it was based off had quite a bit and we had talked about it. When I started out I paid a fixed price that was higher than I would normally pay because they told me that everything would be taken care of. When I asked them to add the details, they did it, but i was hit with a surprise large bill at the end. The dress is still beautiful and they are still great to work with, however I would advise others to get your vision drawn out and in writing before hand because I was hit with a very large charge that should have been included. Because I felt like there wasn't as much detail or design as similar dresses for how much I paid and because of the surprise large charge for a little bit of those details, I felt I had to change my stars. read more

I found this place on yelp and because of all the good reviews made an appointment for my younger sister to try on wedding dresses (I'm maid of honor). We got there and all seemed great at first. There was a decent selection of dresses and we were given champagne to sip on while my sister spoke with Samantha about what kinds of dresses she wanted. From there on, everything went down hill. Samantha spoke with my sister and didn't seem to listen to what kinds of dresses she wanted at all. My sister specifically said she didn't want strapless dresses and 90% of the dresses she brought in were strapless. She didn't clip the dresses on her when she came out so that they looked huge on her and it was difficult for us to see what the dress would actually look like. When comments were made about this Samantha rudely shot back that the fitting room wasn't big enough to clip them. At one point, my mom said, "I just can't see it because it's not tight so I'm not sure if I like it" and then Samantha retorted with "I don't get what you can't see? The dress is on her". Samantha was extremely rude, whether on purpose or not, throughout the entire experience so that it was not enjoyable at all. Some of the dresses were beautiful but her attitude ruined the experience for us. I, and my group, expect a certain degree of pleasantness when going into Beverly Hills to find an expensive wedding dress and this is not what we received here. It felt as if we were annoying Samantha every time we mentioned something about certain dresses that we didn't like and even rolled her eyes at times. She kept going on and on about how great her shop was and her dresses were but did nothing to ensure good customer service. Although some of the dresses were similar to what my sister was looking for--we will not be returning to this dress shop. read more

Update:They get a bad review and of course they claim fraud. I worked with you Samantha and had a very unpleasant experience. You were actually the one who tried to tell me what I could and couldn't not afford. I wish I could give them no stars. They were beyond rude! It was obvious from the moment we walked in that we were not wanted, they rushed me through my appointment claiming they had another bride but there wasn't one. The store was empty. They TOLD me what I couldn't afford even though they never asked for a budget. DO NOT GO HERE! Especially if your body is not exactly how you love it because they make fun of your body. read more

My mother and I could not have had a better experience - all of my wedding dress dreams came true! I am getting married in June, which left 3 months for me to find a dress. We went to several other wedding dress stores who all made me feel so guilty about not having found a dress yet and were beyond unhelpful. In every other store we were treated like the millionth bride they'd had that day. Then we found Andrea's. From the moment we walked in the door we were made to feel like the most special Bride and Mother of the Bride in the world. Their selection of dresses is incredible - Samantha's eye for bridal styles is world class. I found the dress of my dreams, and as I live in the UK and only had a week in LA, they made all of the alterations (including adding sleeves, cups at the front and a lining) in 6 days. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done to perfection. As my mum said - it was like I was Carmen's daughter! Her and Samantha thought of everything and took care of everything. Thank you both so much, and your whole team including Peter and Veronica, for all of your hard work, kindness and love. We've only known you for a week but we feel like we've known you forever! I would recommend to all my friends to go see Samantha. My wife went to all big name bridal places and couldn't find the dress she envisioned. Samantha understood her vision and created a custom dress at the fraction of the cost of other places. My wife got the dress she dreamed of and on top of that she was able to make a custom dress for my mother one week before big day with a final fitting just days before that allowed my mom to make any changes if necessary. I went to at least five stores and at one of them my consultant put me in a dress way over my budget that I fell completely in love with. Samantha and Carmen are amazing! I had been shopping for a dress for a long time and had tried on so many dresses at other places I thought I would never find the right one. I found A Bride by Samantha when I was looking for a Julie Vino dress. They did not have the exact dress I was looking for but had a few similar options from the same designer. I ended up realizing that style did not look quite right on me and Carmen suggested another Julie Vino dress. When I walked out of the dressing room my mother and sister-in-law's jaws dropped, the dress was incredible, I fell in love. Carmen and Samantha are honest and really have an eye, it is no wonder to me why they have been in business for so long. Each time I went back they gave me recommendations and really helped me complete me style with the perfect earrings, veil and hair piece. The dress had very intricate lace work and I could not believe the absolutely perfect job they did hemming the dress. Samantha was so great she even helped me pick out the right shoes. I had gone to a few stores and couldn't decide so I sent her some pictures and she gave me her recommendations. I cant say enough great things about them. What an amazing find right on Robertson! This store has been around for decades catering to the mother of the bride and everyone knows it's THE place to go to be a glamorous, modern mother of the bride. But now they are doing bridal and oh my! Samantha knows bridal like no one else! The gowns are stunning and there is a full range from traditional to non-traditional. Like most bridal stores, the sample sizes are around a size 12 but we had no problem working around the gowns being several sizes too big for me. Samantha and Carmen were a joy to work with and they put me at ease every step of the way. The dress I had chosen was actually the first one I tried on, which I knew right away was the one. Unfortunately, I am one of those people that always needs to try on everything before I make a decision. What I loved about my experience at Andreas is that they didn't rush me even though they knew this was the best dress for me. They let me explore other places and think about it for a bit before I came back. They offered suggestions on accessorizing the dress, and they were honest about questions that I had, which I appreciated as well.
