Went with a larger group and everyone enjoyed their meals. The restaurant has a classic Italian feel inside, and service was good. It was quiet with no other diners inside during our visit.

Quaint little spot with worldly charm! We stopped in and were pleasantly surprised by the selection of international desserts and baked goods. The chocolate scone was perfectly soft and rich--one of the best we've had! It's also a great place to sit, relax, and watch the world walk by. A hidden gem worth the stop.

Excellent dinner, had the tortellini Alfredo special and it was delicious, wife got the veal parm and that was great too! Cannoli dessert was awesome and they give you 2 big cannolis. We'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately we did not have the same experience we did years ago. First, their menu needs some updating. Not one change since we were here years ago. The appetizers were good but the entrees were lacking flavor and topped with cold and hard parmesan cheese. Unfortunately we will not be back.

We booked a dinner at A Ca Mia because it was the closest to Ocean City that had available reservations on Open Table. Our party of 11 was seated right away which was nice on a crowded tourist evening. The first high chair they brought us for our one year old did not have a belt. The replacement they brought actually had something so sharp on the belt that it cut into my son in law when he was strapping in his son! The staff didn't seem to care- as if that was normal! On to the food - none of us loved what we ordered and I literally took two bites from my chicken parmesan as that was all I could handle. It was rubbery and seemed undercooked - uggh! I am sorry to say that we do not recommend.

I had a great dinner experience at A Ca Mia. The service here is very friendly quick with our appetizers coming out minutes after placing our order. I had the veal parmesan for the main course and it was cooked to the perfect temperature. For beverages, my family had a local, hard apple cider. It was very nice and my family liked it with their meals. All in all, I had a nice dinner here and I recommend this restaraunt if you are in the area!

Great veal parm. Really enjoyed this meal. Good size portion and even included a bit of asparagus on the side. Was a bit disappointed that they charge for extra bread but I can understand it. I'm not sure what the cost would have been as it didn't specify on the menu. It would be nice if they offered one free bread refill. Caesar salad was also good. Parking was difficult but that's to be expected in this prime downtown Cape May location.

Looooove A Ca Mia - sooooo decently priced and the pasta dishes are always so good! You get bread for the table and it's BYOB, so with most of their dishes under $30 and BYOB, this will make you satisfied and so will the bill. Also love sitting outside and watching all the happenings on the Washington street mall.

A beautiful location, food and atmosphere! We all agreed it was a great choice and we would all go back! The wait for a table for 5/6 on a friday night was about an hour, and there was no system to call us back to the restaurant at the end of the wait or when a table was ready so we had to watch ourselves for that time. Thankfully its in a lovely outdoor mall to make the wait a little more bearable, just don't lose track of time! It is BYOB, but thankfully there are a few shops and liquor stores nearby. We were all very happy with our entrees! The ravioli sampler was beautiful, and the shrimp scampi was some of the best I've had!

Best croissants in cape may. Sweet and savory pastry. Nice and friendly staff. Tables outside overlooking the Main Street. Bonus: they sell Bulgarian cheese, kashkaval, lukanka and lyutenica

First, we were seated in the back where the wait station and door to kitchen was located and staff was just standing around. We asked to move to one of the empty booths and was told they were all for reservations coming in. They were able to move us to the back room. Server was nice and attentive and our food (just appetizers) were good. The issue we had was the overly aggressive bussers who kept trying to take our plates away even when it was apparent that we were not finished. This happened several times. We dislike when dirty dishes are left in front of us but this was over the top and intrusive. With so many options around town, we likely won't be back.

The beer selection is always impressive, with plenty of options to satisfy just about every taste. Service can be hit or miss depending on when you visit and who's working, but that's often the case at busy shore destinations. My family stops here on almost every trip to our home on the Cape May Bay, so we've experienced it at its best and busiest. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a popular shore restaurant. And yes, if you know about the bathroom situation, you know--it really deserves a permanent fix rather than another temporary patch. The menu offers something for everyone. The pizzas are consistently good, the bar food delivers exactly what you'd expect, and there are several signature dishes that are always reliable and full of flavor. When the restaurant gets crowded, you'll definitely notice it in both the service and the overall vibe, but that's just part of the shore experience. Overall, I'd recommend giving it a try. Go in with realistic expectations during peak times, and chances are you'll have a great meal. We almost always do, and I think you will too.

The odyssey to finding it was well worth the effort. We had dinner reservations but on a Monday in May, probably did not need them. We both loved our flounder almondine order, despite it being a Monday night (when one does not typically order fish and expect it to be fresh). This really was! Service was top-notch and super-friendly from Jared, who was deeply apologetic when the oyster appetizer we ordered failed to appear - he comped a beer without prompting (and insisted upon it). Even absent this gesture, his attitude and manner made our evening - the excellence of the entrees was a cherry on top. One note and not the fault of the restaurant at all - a number of families with small children were dining at other tables. This is not an especially well-suited restaurant for families with under-5 kids. Their collective noise and behavior was more akin to, well, a Chuck-E-Cheese or MacDonalds. There was nothing anyone could do, of course.

The table was an awesome tucked away corner table that faced the inner dining room. The decor and experience were top notch. I'm glad I said no to eating outside. The room is absolutely beautiful if you are into vintage looks. I said it looked like Gaston's Tavern. Food and waitress service was good. My sister had the short ribs and they were tasty. I had a burger well done (and it was!) with both fries and a side salad. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and felt it was a good value for the cost. Love, Nicole

We were seated immediately by our server Flossy who also had very good recommendations on what to order. I followed those recommendations and got the Crab Cakes and the Key Lime Pie Cheesecake. My friend ordered the Seafood Pesto. I loved the Crab Cakes, it went well with the mango sauce and it was a very lump meat crab cake. Might be one of the best crab cakes I've ever had. The key lime cheesecake was very fluffy, airy, with the perfect balance of sweet and citrus. The seafood pesto was just OK in my opinion. I did like the food for the most part. However, the portions are a little on the small side. If it weren't for dessert and Flossy giving me a second dinner roll (another point for service!) I think I would've left still hungry. To be fair, I am considered a big eater and I came in starving. There were a few other questionable choices that prevent me from fully recommending this place. Some may consider the dining room cozy, I found it cramped, especially as it started to fill up with other customers. So this place is likely not going to work with a big party even if it's half full. We were a little surprised when trying to find the restroom too. We were handed a key, and had to go outside and in their back alley on a little treasure hunt to find a door labeled "Locked door". When ordering dessert, I was surprised the dessert menu did not list any prices even though their main menu did. Kind of obnoxious and pretentious if you ask me, but Flossy mentioned they were all $18 and big enough to share. That brings me one other point: pricing. I loved the food, but felt each menu item was twice the price that was appropriate for the portion. All in all, Freda's cafe has good food and great service. But it's held back by portion sizes, pricing, and a few other weird issues.

After a stroll to the Washington Street Mall I was on my way back to the motel (The Jetty) and noticed this place was open. It was clean looking from the outside so I decided to give it a try. I was immediately welcomed as I walked in, nice. Looked around to see how the seating arrangements were and notice they had counter seating. Neil like sitting at the counter. A pleasant lady came over and handed me a menu asked what I wanted to drink...orange juice. And the juice came with a glass of water, I needed that and didn't know it. After looking the menu over I chose the western omelette with home fries and rye toast. I must have been one of the first customers of the day cause it wasn't long before I was eating. All I needed was some hot sauce for the home fries and their it was. The portions were generous and toast came out warm just the way I likes it.
