I've been coming here since this wine bar opened. Good wine, the owner Beth is friendly and very welcoming. If you haven't checked it out, definitely do. They offer a happy hour on two red wines and two white wines. It's a nice start. They have flights on red and white wines as well. Or if you prefer buy a bottle, share with your party and enjoy. I visited this jewel while on a little getaway to Rockaway Beach. I'm so glad my friend and I landed here for dinner! I had a red flight, which included a cab franc. I savored each sip from that glass! We ordered a few plates to share. The cheese plate was fabulous! The honey on there was a huge hit for us! We also had the baked polenta dish, French onion soup and a small salad. Everything was spot on with flavor. Even the made from scratch salad dressing. I believe the owner came over and talked with us a bit, too. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. Definitely a must visit if you are at the beach or in the area. read more

12/31/11 for a late lunch. Cute place with a nice selection of some wines and cheeses with a few other food items. We enjoyed the wine and the cheese on a day when most places were closed or bracing for the big night - so the fact that the cheese was still a bit too chilled and the wait a bit long (actually the door was locked and we had to call to get in) didn't keep us from having a very nice time. A great little wine bar in Pacifica. I went there last night with a few friends and it's definitely a cozy place! On Fridays, they have a wine flight deal - $12 for a flight of wine. The drawback is that they only have one red and one white flight. But, the selection was good. They didn't have the Riesling in the white flight, but the waiter was nice enough to replace it with a Sauvagion Blanc. We also ordered a cheese and charcuterie plate. Nice selection of cheese and meats. All in all, it was quite enjoyable! They also had live music, but we didn't stay the whole time to listen to it. I'll definitely return here again. read more

I had been wanting to try this place for awhile when I went for the first time. I finally went with some old co-workers and wasn't disapointed. The atmosphere was ok...it was dimly lit, but the decor was a little cheesy. As far as bites go, I did enjoy the "Trio of Cheese & Charcuterie" plate. It paired well with my flight. Overall, good wine, and reasonably priced. I would recommend if you are in Pacifica. read more

We have been here a number of times since they first opened. The food is not and has never been very good, but it's cozy and has a nice atmosphere for drinks and music. The service used to be good and friendly, but has recently declined to the point we will no longer return. The friendly staff has been replaced with those with a surly attitude. pacifica, although a sweet sleepy coastal town, is a tad overridden with fast food chains and generationally ran family owned dining options. not to say those are bad things BUT little spots of anticipatory foodie culture popping up send waves of excitement through many of the residents over here. all of this to say, new wine bar in pacifica? AWESOME! their site says early 2010 is when they are set to open... which i think is slowly turning into mid 2010 (so it goes in the restaurant world) but hopefully soon this review can be for the actual spot! read more

Came on Friday and had a great time drinking wine while watching the Giants' game on the TV with really good LIVE music. The space is cozy and the wine list is pretty good. The crowd and vibe were both solid. The food took a little longer to get than usual, but the quality of the food and the politeness of the staff make that easy to overlook. I decided to host a bridal shower for my niece and I wanted a special place with ambiance and great wine and food. A Grape in the Fog made a wonderful venue for the party. I met with the owner a few weeks prior and she spent an hour going over my ideas for the private party experience I wanted and she had lots of wonderful ideas, from a signature cocktail to showcasing South American wines since that's where the bride and groom planned to honeymoon. She went out of her way to procure food items not on her menu and the result was a terrific event that everyone just loved. I would recommend Grape in the Fog as a private party venue to anyone wanting a special experience. And did I mention her prices were very reasonable? read more

Ok so I totally thought I was going to have to write a hideous review of this place and I am ecstatic that things took a turn for the great. Heres the scoop: I bought a deal a while ago, it expired so I called to see if this place would honor it. I was told that they would. So a few weeks go by and I finally have some time to go so i take my hottie for some wine. We arrive and both front bar people tell me that they will need to get in touch with the owner about honoring the coupon and I'm not gonna lie there was some attitude back and forth. I am getting pissed off because I was told they would honor it and then I come in and they are acting like I am making this shit up. So we go sit down to have wine in the mean time while waiting to hear about the damn coupon. There was music playing, cool patio, good wine and some cooking going on..oh and it didn't hurt to have some yummy company. Voila! Lady comes back super nice and says the owner says yes to the coupon. Cool. But thats not the best part...We totally got spoiled from then on...!!!! Chef Eric comes and brings us risotto balls to taste ( which was to die for!!!) chocolate (soooo good) and then handmade oxtail gnocci (Delicious!!!!!). He was totally nice and the food was AMAZING. So the verdict? Great wine, check. Super cool Chef? Check. Nice staff? check. Amazing Food? Check. Cute Place? Check. Will be back? FO SHO! Thanks for a great night! read more

Whilst on holiday in SF our friend who lives in Pacifica brought us here. What an absolutely lovely place - great relaxed attitude. There happened to be an event on that day for local artists to sell there beautiful handmade goods so there was a huge buffet for people so we got pretty lucky. Plenty of choice on happy hour drinks & a great selection of wines in general. Lovely friendly staff - had a nice chat with Beth about England (which is where we are from) & also Elizabeth! We were made to feel very welcome & considering we spent all day there so we could listen to the live Music our check was very reasonable. 100% recommend!!!! read more

My husband & i found this place simply by accident while on vacation and we are glad that we did; it was right around the corner from our hotel. The ambiance is very comfortable; the wait staff friendly & welcoming; the food delicious and the wines pretty good. it is a bit pricey, but the 2nd time we came during Happy Hour and it was a good fun bargain. My Husband is not a wine nor beer drinker, but loved their French press served coffee; he also fell in love with their homemade rhubarb crumb dessert. This place would have been perfect if the seating was a little more comfortable, but we will definitely go back for thirds. read more

Cute place...great small sampling of wines from all over. Just passing through Pacifica so a nice little stopover and short walk to the beach. Says there's live music daily but we came too early...would come back if I'm in the area already. Friendly service and good menu of small bites that compliments the wines. Some plates were a little pricey. Wanted to have just a small plate of cheese, but they only had a cheese board for $15. Almonds for $5. Ordered the empanada, it was $5 for one small one though, but it was tasty, so worth it I guess. Had a glass of Cava, was very nice. read more

This was a difficult review to write, because my first visit was worth 5 stars, great wine and snacks and live music that was relaxing and made for a nice way to wind down after a long work week. Last night was a completely different experience. The wine was nice, I got the white flight, the food we ordered was quite tasty, we had the french onion soup, one of the empanadas and the humus plate; no complaints there. The problem was the live band, they were so loud we couldn't hear ourselves and making conversation nearly impossible even though we were on the other end of the room from the band. What had been planned as a relaxing evening with some nice wine, snacks and conversation as a way to wind down from a hectic week was more like an evening at a rock concert. I will give GITF another try, hopefully it will be more like my first visit. read more

I'm from Sonoma County wine country and recently visited A Grape in the Fog. I was pleasantly surprise by the quality of the entertainment. The guitar player was very good and then came belly dancers. We were very disappointed in the food, choice of and portions and when ordering they were out of some things that we wanted. The choice of wine was great. The servers were trying to accomadate us they best they could and did a fine job. At one point, I assume the owner,came out and was clearly overwhelmed and was quite nasty with a customer which was uncomfortable to us.We got a feeling from her that it was a bother that we were even there. It was quite crowded but we feel she handled the situation very unprofessionally. Slim chance that we will return. read more

It is tucked away in Pacifica, we bought some locals there to meet us for a light dinner and drinks after watching g the sunset . They had never been! Delightful little place. Wonderful selection of wines. Small menu of tapas cheeses and meats. Nice live soft musician playing on location, but easy to have a conversation. Good service, reasonably price, easy parking close by. Just a few minutes walk from the beach. Definitely a gathering place for beers and wine. read more
