Had delivery for a family of 6. I had the Buffalo chicken salad. Loaded with tangy breaded chicken breast cut into "just right" sized pieces. Lettuce, tomatoes, celery, bell peppers, shredded cheddar cheese and containers with enough ranch dressing to generously cover the salad. Another person had chili cheese steak and fries, another person had a chili hot dog, another had a cheeseburger and a younger family member had a kid's meal. All of the food was delicious and delivered in a timely manner. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

The garlic fries were excellent, as they should be when your restaurant is located in the garlic capital of the world. Also ordered the pastrami burger without mustard. They forgot the grilled onions, but it was still juicy and delicious, and large in size. Minus 1 star cuz they didn't get my order right... but otherwise everything was good and tasty. Had this for lunch yesterday, and I've gotta say that I really enjoyed it . I've been trying to explore Gilroy more, so it's nice to know I have a go-to place to grab a quick bite that's close by! Good service is ALWAYS a must for me, and this place has just that! Right when my boyfriend and I walked in, we were already greeted with warm smiles. They were very pleasant and helpful. They would also check in with us throughout the meal to make sure we were having a great time. The food came out fairly quickly and I chomped everything down. So tasty! We got the Californian Cheesesteak and the Garlic Fries which was definitely great to split between the two of us (portion sizes were def fair). The only gripe I have is that I wish the garlic fries had more garlic . I'm a garlic gal after all! Might ask them for a bit more next time. Will definitely be back for more good food!! read more

I like their buffalo wings. I asked for them well done and they did a great job but they gave me all flats and no drums which was kind of disappointing. I didn't ask for all flats. I've tried their Philly cheese steak sandwich and it was okay. The meat didn't have enough flavor for me and I didn't taste any cheese so I suppose I would ask for extra cheese if I ever ordered it again. Their fries here are shoe string fries. I ordered a side of regular fries they gave me a whole half to-go box full. For sure sharing size. What a bang for your buck. Great place - you are greeted immediately as you enter into the place. The place was small but had 6-7 small tables and SF Giants memorabilia hung on the walls. We tried the A-Jay's Classic with extra meat. When the sandwich was cooked, she brought it to the table. Great service! The sandwich was piping hot, and when you took a bite out of it, it was a nice clean taste. Not greasy like some other places. The bread was nice and soft, though, a bit bready. The portions are enormous, careful how many sides you order lol The staff was very friendly and super helpful when ordering. The food came out very quick and did not disappoint at all. Came here for a quick dinner. My husband got the south country cheesesteak sandwich which I think he loved cause he ate it all lol and I got the tuna salad with blue cheese dressing. The food tasted ok. But it was off put by the disgusting sanitation of the front lobby. Even worse than the front lobby is the front patio sidewalk. All of the other vendors in the court, clean their sidewalks. This one has flies growing on theirs. That's why I can't give them, a 4. This place is so yummy!!!! Me, the hubby and daughter came for a late lunch/dinner. It was so delicious. I got the classic with cheezwhiz ( I had to do it right), and the hubby got the pastrami with hot peppers. With respect, I've been coming here for years and have never been treated so disrespectfully. Getting my order wrong and overcharging I can understand. But to jump down my throat about how many condiments my husband wants to grab when we're spending $30 per person? I had no idea you were harboring ill will towards us all these years. It's really unfortunate because I've ordered here before without issue. I submitted and order online for same day pick up but it schedules it for the next day. I called AJ's and they server informed me that he knew nothing about how the online service worked. I then found a way to cancel the order online (or so I thought) and placed my order over the phone. We ordered the A-Jay's Classic ($9.25), the Mushroom ($9.75), an order of fries ($4), and two sodas ($2.50 each). The food came out after a few minutes since they were cooking them. The A-Jay's Classic tasted good to me as well as the Mushroom cheese steak. The amount would make most people full. Hands down best authentic cheesesteak in a 100 mile radius. It is so hard to find a place that uses cheese whiz or at least has that option yet Ajay's delivers. We order the classic cheesesteak with cheese whiz and it was pretty amazing. We split it and I think I can comfortably say I could finish one on my own. The meat was season well, and tasted very flavorful. It was sort of peppery and spicy with the sweet peppers. The cheese whiz which gives it that authentic Philly cheesesteak flair really highlights the whole sandwich. Parking was not that easy on a weekend but they do not offer any sit down service. Ever since A-Jay's in Gilroy changed ownership the quality in their food and their customer service has gone completely downhill! I ordered a pepper cheesesteak with very little cheese and meat its tons of bread. My husband ordered a beef melt which was not toasted, our fries were extremely under cooked when I say extremely like maybe halfway cooked if that. The fries were so undercooked they all stuck together in a ball as one clump instead of individually fries! I removed the meat from my sandwich to reheat and add cheese "it's call a cheesesteak after all" and this is the amount that was give in my sandwich, it's like I'm eating bread. We had to toast my husband's beef melt. For what they charge we paid over $34 to have undercooked food and spend our time recooking food we paid for! I have been to the one in Morgan hill, and today is my first time here. The restroom leaves much to be desired in terms of a place to hang a purse, or stick on a shelf or table in there. Other than that there's more seating at this location and the food is just as good. I just wasn't happy about the multiple strands of brown hair in my food. I looked up and saw the chef in the kitchen with short brown hair, which matched the ones I pulled out. I can only finish half the Californian when I order it and the Morgan hill location gives you a to go box to stick the sandwich in but this place asks to wrap it up for me and how my meal was which was cool. I said I found some hairs in my food and they asked to make things right by giving me another sandwich but I'm not trying to get spit in my new sandwich so I declined. Walking inside we were immediately greeted and asked if we had any questions about their menu?then the lady behind the counter started to share with us things that were on her menu. She told us they had 3 different cheeses available and you you can add things like hot peppers, grilled onions, mushrooms, green peppers etc. They serve bottled beer, bottled soda, bottled water, and they have fountain drinks as well. I ordered the teriyaki cheesesteak with mushrooms and grilled onions, $9.50, the sandwich bread is slightly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They gave me tons of meat, cheese, grilled onions, and mushrooms. The sandwich was also nice and hot, the quality of the meat is outstanding and needless to say the sandwich was delicious. Side note: the man behind the counter saw that Pop's was in a wheelchair and went out of his way to go around the counter and held the doors open for us. But they thing is order chicken but they gave me stack, I didn't want to throw away the food so I just eat it and then order a chicken. Let start off with the stack sandwiches, the stack was burnt, and there was more onions then stack. The onion should have been cut down a little more. The stack was on the bland side but that could be that I didn't get cheese with any of my food. The salad was okay the come with bell pepper, tomato, and what they called "sweet" peppers. Everyone on staff I interacted with was super nice. I was the person who came to A-Jay's and didn't order a cheese steak. Instead, I got the pastrami sandwich. No regrets! I'm working on my spice sensitivity, so I struggled with the peppers in the sandwich. A-Jay's Cheese steaks are delicious! I've always gone to the Morgan hill location and I gotta say, this Gilroy location is just as tasty, even via DoorDash. I always do the classic cheesesteak with onions and peppers and of course, cheese whiz! However, the trick for me here is opting light on the whiz, as it can get pretty darn messy with all that ooey gooey golden goodness!!! When I'm feeling spunky, I'll add mushrooms to my order, but keeping it classic is the way to go! The hoagie itself is pretty large! About 8 inches long and 4 inches in width! I really appreciate how they cut the hoagie in half so I can devour half now and save the rest for later. Their fries are also amazing! They're seasoned fries, so they taste like straight curly fries, without the curly factor. For pickup, the staff have always been friendly.
