Great dessert place, I had the Green tea Mille crepe and my mother had the mango layered cream cake. I honestly enjoyed the mango cake more than what I got. It was light, fluffy, and not too sweet. The Mille Matcha layered crepe unfortunately was not as light as I remembered it being at other places I've had it. This was a little more dense. I recommend this place for those on a date, or just want to get a great dessert. Seating is limited, but it's worth the wait if you have one. Service was great as well. My friends and I came here on a rainy Sunday night and were seated right away. I got the White Chocolate Ball which was truly a work of art. It consists of a white chocolate ball with a matcha tea cake hiding on the inside, which is revealed after pouring the sauce on top. It was served with a side of matcha ice cream. The only thing I love more than overpriced avocado toast is overpriced desserts. However, this place had a good reason to be expensive with how much care and effort they put into making them gorgeous works of art. Staff was also super nice and fast. My number one favorite was actually the chocolate bear head. Chocolatey on the outside and inside but with a slightly tangy orange center to complement. Easy to eat and not too rich. Also sadistically fun to smash his head in. The hazelnut cake was a strong contender because it had a slightly wafery crunch inside but a smooth light flavor throughout. The pretzel caramel ice cream that came with was amazing. Sweet and salty with crispy rice bits. The cakes were not too much unlike the matcha chocolate that was kind of weird. The matcha chocolate didn't really taste like matcha or chocolate and it was weirdly dense. Definitely not a favorite. The coffee cake was surprisingly not too sweet and slightly bitter. Very easy to eat as well since it was so light. Would recommend for the non-sweet tooth diners. We also ordered a pot of white peach tea which stayed hot from a little candle. I think it's the only place I know locally that I can get Mille crêpes...and green tea is my favorite flavor! My favorite Mille crepes is still Lady M in NYC. The cake they have is denser and lady M's is softer and creamier. Both has a rich flavor of Matcha,but hey! in here you also get a scoop of the green tea ice-cream! I came to A La Mousse with my friend around 7pm on a Saturday evening, and we snagged the only open table at the time. It's a small, cozy space, but be prepared to wait due to the limited seating. My friend ordered the Lychee Panna Cotta, which came with raspberry ice cream. I tried some of hers, and loved it! It was well-balanced and so refreshing. I ordered the Hazelnut Paris-Brest with Salted Caramel Pretzel Ice Cream. The Paris-Brest is comprised of two large rings of flaky pastry with hazelnut cream in the middle. It was so delicious - light and not too sweet. The ice cream was the perfect balance of salty and sweet, and the added texture from the pretzels made it a nice accompaniment to the Paris-Brest. Unfortunately, even the 20-oz teas don't last very long because we gulp them right down. Bonus points for being able to cut back on the amount of sugar that's added to the tea. Their cakes are also very nice, though a bit pricey. My "other half" got me a mango mousse one that was light and delicious. The main drawback is that seating is pretty limited. The only table that will accommodate more than four people is a single picnic table with benches and even so, there are only about 7 tables in the restaurant and a tiny restroom. You can order things to go or to eat there, at which point a girl will come up to you and take your order. They can get backed up on a busy weekend night but it's worth the wait. read more

While we have only had the smaller treats, they are always delightful: creatively presented and delicious. Our favorite is the brown chocolate mousse bear. My friend and I split the Matcha Cheesecake ($7.95) paired with ice cream. This was exactly what we wanted with its creamy texture and lovely presentation. Our White Mocha Matcha Lattes ($4.25) tasted as you would expect with the green tea flavor. However, it came out rather lukewarm for the both of us when we expected them to be piping hot. We stumbled upon A La Mousse after our dinner. The place was mostly packed with teenage customers and coupled. The clear glass window brightly displayed an array of cute and inviting cakes. There were cakes made into the shape of apple, orange, teapot, and Sally (LINE's character). Creativity is definitely their strong suite here. They also offer a menu of unique desserts, such ad Greentea Tea-Ra-Misu and Sizzling Ice Cream. Still stuffed from dinner, the four of us decided to split a cake. We opted for the Triple Chocolate Mousse, which was a three-layer dessert. The top two layers were made out of white and milk chocolate mousse and at the bottom was a brownie-like base. The mousse layers were light. The flavors were just right, not too powerful and not too subtle. The intensity of the chocolate reflect the airy texture of the mousse. The cake was paired with a scoop of mango ice cream, laying on top of a bed of chocolate biscuit crumb. The ice cream was my favorite part of the dessert. It was creamy and not too mangoey. A lot of fruit desserts tend to have very strong artificial flavor to them. However, this ice cream was well-balanced and refreshing. It surprisingly complemented the chocolaty dessert very well. It's still the primary place for matcha baked goods in the area. Their matcha mille crepe cake is the best version I've ever had in the US. It is made up of perfectly layered thin crepes with thin layers of slightly sweetened matcha creme in between. The texture and flavor is spot on! Over the years, consistency is not always there as a couple of times my desserts were half-frozen (although this hasn't happened in a couple years), and the prices have gotten high (matcha mille crepe is now almost $10 for a tiny slice). Also, I've had some desserts that I hated that weren't described as creme cheese, but had that texture and flavor which I hate. Now I stick to the matcha desserts and I'm not disappointed.
