A Ma's is our favorite spot for pho and BBH! Everything we've tried has been amazing, but the pho keeps us coming back almost every weekend. The broth is so clean and flavorful and they slice the meat super thin, which is my personal preference. I also love that they give you the option of thin or thick noodles. Their banh mi deserves a shoutout too. It's a simpler style compared to the mayo-heavy banh mi we're used to, but the smoky flavor in the pork or chicken really stands out and makes it unique. The owners are kind and generous, and you can really feel the care they put into the food and the customer experience. We're honestly obsessed. Small little gem in 99 ranch plaza! It is busy all the time. They added extra tables outside recently. As the weather cooled down, it is pretty nice to sit outside. It was full when we got there. We ordered at the counter and took a number. Waited about 10 minutes a booth was available. Then our food came right after. Service was friendly and quick! I love me a good Pho and Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodles) on a chilly day! Noodle soup is life!! They made the broth in boiling huge pots in house at the open kitchen. The whole place smells so good! I love that the noodles are served in big metal bowls to keep the broth steaming hot! For the pho, you have options to pick soft or chewy rice noodles. We got both to try. I prefer the soft noodles. Came here around peak dinner time on a Friday. The inside is pretty small, and the way you get seated is actually you order food at the counter, get a table number, then you find a table that's open (either inside or outside). Although it was winter time, because the pho is steaming hot when it comes to you, it wasn't terrible sitting outside luckily! Every time I've passed this place, it's ALWAYS busy. The pho came pretty quickly, I feel like I waited less than 5 minutes. They did forget our fried egg rolls, but were apologetic after we let them know, and they brought it out as quickly as they could. I got the A Ma's favourite pho, which is basically a pho with beef balls, brisket, and another beef meat. Admittedly, the prices are pretty expensive; that bowl of pho costed about $16 (which unfortunately is why it took me so long to try this place out). The bowl though is pretty hefty, and I felt like I could comfortably share the pho with someone else provided we ordered appetizers like egg rolls to split. My boyfriend said he would have to come not hungry to do that, so take that as you will. The broth was very light, and had a homemade taste to it. You can choose between thin or thick noodles; I opted for the thick, and really enjoyed it. The plate of vegetables they give you to add to your pho is SUPER small though, they give you a cat size food dish portion of beansprouts and one tiny slice of lime. We had to request more lime, and at 2.5 slices, I felt it was good, although I would have probably requested more limes if it was easier to catch someone's attention. The egg rolls were good, but Viet Shack still reigns superior here. My boyfriend made a note that the egg rolls didn't have any of the "crunchy vegetables" in it, and it was odd that you had to request lettuce in my opinion to eat the egg rolls with. One thing is that the pho comes out in aluminum bowls (?? we think), so the pho cools down much faster. We wish the soup was still hot instead of warm by the time we were midway through the food. Would I come again? I think so, but on VERY rare occasions. I feel like the price is somewhat justified for the size, but you will not be full if you're the type who eats more. I feel like there are more worth it pho shops around that are a smidge cheaper to go to. read more

If you decide to eat at A Ma's Kitchen & Pho, definitely stick with the pho and other soups (it's part of their namesake!) only. The other Vietnamese dishes are rather lackluster. Their pho broth is a bit unique in that it's very onion forward. This is great for anyone who loves onions, but may be a bit of a shock if this is not what you're used to in pho. Service is fast casual style where you go up to the register to order, grab your number, find a seat, and wait for your meal to come out. Soups and noodle dishes are served in lovely metal bowls. Chopsticks are in containers on the tables. Condiments are on the tables and you'll be given an extra bowl of herbs and other garnishes when you're served. If you order rice dishes, they'll be served on paper plates with plastic utensils. They're pretty skimpy on the amount of meat they give you. It's rather disappointing. For rice and cold noodle dishes especially, you really aren't given enough meat at all. Their Vietnamese pickles are also pretty sad and flavorless. For rice and cold noodle dishes, you'll be given lettuce only as your fresh vegetable. Their nuoc cham (dipping sauce) is very savory with no garlic or chili present in the sauce. For a fast casual concept, there's a surprising lack of trash cans. We would have loved to help clean up after ourselves and toss what could be tossed and put away dishware in a tub. It looks like they bus the tables themselves. Although there is seating inside and outside, it can get cramped. There also is not quite enough room for multiple customers to wait in line to order up front. With so many other Vietnamese places in the area, it's a bit difficult for my partner and I to recommend A Ma's. I would love to either see them improve their other dishes or consider focusing only on pho and soups, so they can be more generous with the toppings. read more

The food was great, but we found the staff incredibly rude. The smells were calling to us this evening so we headed on in. We did the order at the counter and saw that a table was open so hubby and I went to sit at it only to be told by the staff that we couldn't sit there because they were busy. After looking over the menu, we ordered two orders of the shrimp spring roll, and an order of the egg rolls to share. Both appetizers were sadly underwhelming to say the least, they both lacked in the flavor department. There were none of the essential herbs at all in the spring rolls, and the egg rolls were way too greasy. For the main entrée, I had ordered the beef ball pho. Heard so many great things about this place so had to try it out. The first time I tried it, I was not impressed (soup broths were light and watery), but all the foodie family and friends mentioned this place is amazing so I had to come in to try again.... This time wow, the broth was so flavorful for both of the soups!! The pho is done perfectly! You get to choose chewy or soft noodles for the Pho and we did chewy! For the Pho soup base, you can choose fatty oil or non fatty oil broth. The bun Bo hue broth was perfect amount of flavor with the fish sauce. The bun Bo hue noodles were short, but could be what I got at the time with my bowl. So happy I tried it again! Egg Rolls were okay. Banh Mi was small, but the meat inside of it was SO GOOD! Went last night for dinner before shopping at Ranch Market so I wouldn't be shopping on an empty stomach. The big crowd and smell coming from the restaurant piqued my interest! Although it was crowded, we were quickly seated and served. I got the Bò Kho, a tomatoey stew with a hint of lemon grass and other herbs with chunks of beef. They were packed as usual though.( I love that for them ) There weren't many tables to choose from and it was definitely a tight squeeze for 6 people. Alot of the tables weren't cleaned off, so the wait was rather annoying. My noodles weren't chewy like I had chosen , they were overcooked. The broth was okay, didn't seem flavorful enough for me. Pricing is fair though, for the portions! Their fried egg rolls seemed to take forever to come out and they were okay, weren't something to write home about. She's Vietnamese and she said this is the closest she's found out here to home. It was a must try! Wait time was typical. Pricing isn't bad. A Ma's was a nice find when they first opened that served some of the best pho! But lately it's been a hit and miss. Our latest dine in experience left us unimpressed. We both ordered the rare beef rib eye pho. The broth was just OK. It was missing the usual notes of herbs and spices. The noodles were way overcooked. My wife noticed there wasn't much beef in her bowl as there was during her last visit. The Spring Rolls were good as well as the peanut sauce. I'm not sure if I'll visit this place again anytime soon. I guess I'll read others reviews beforehand to see if things improve. I finally found a pho spot I love! If you're a pho lover like I am, you need to try this place! I saw that this was a new restaurant with 10 reviews and all were 5 stars so I had to try it out and so glad I did. When we got there at 12PM, there was already a long line. You order at the counter and get a number and the food is brought out to you when it's ready. The restaurant was packed so I had to wait a bit as they only have about 9 tables inside and a couple outside. Didn't really have to wait too long for a table and our food so I didn't mind. You get to choose regular or deep flavor broth and I chose deep broth pho with brisket. My friend ordered A Ma's favorite which is rare steak, brisket and beef balls. The portion sizes were huge enough for 2 portions and the broth was rich and delicious. It was very satisfying. So glad I found this place. Prices are the most reasonable I've seen. It is unfortunate that this store is so far from me, otherwise, I would frequently come here more often or get take-out. This place checks all the boxes for having everything you can ask for in a bowl of Pho. When you first walk in, you order at the counter and then are given a table number, and they bring the food to you. There are self-serve beverage dispensers for you to get water next to the register. The dining area is small with only a few tables and extremely cramped, so avoid the lunch/dinner rush if you want to claim a seat. It was difficult to decide which Pho to choose because all of them looked delicious. I ultimately went with A Ma's Favorite Pho, which had rare steak, brisket, and beef balls and I also ordered their homemade Egg Rolls. Our food came out fairly quickly and was boiling hot with an extremely aromatic and flavorful broth. I like how they julienne cut the greens and onions, so you get a perfect bite each time. 6th time here and it's still delicious! Owners and staff here are all really nice and helpful. Their drinks are finally available! I tried the A Ma's coffee. It's different from regular Vietnamese coffee because it has oat milk. For pho, I got the same thing as last time (#7 with fatty broth, no brisket). I wanted to drink all of the broth but was too full. Really love that they add sliced scallions here. I saw a review where someone was upset about grabbing a table prior to ordering but not being able to keep it... their rule makes sense. You have to order first before grabbing a table because there is a line of people ahead of you who already ordered and are waiting for a table to open up. It's only fair to those in line first. Been hearing a lot of mixed reviews for this place that are completely opposites of eachother. Some say it's the best and others think it's not good at all. It took me awhile to finally get a spot here because every single visit has been packed or sold out. Keep in mind they have a small restaurant with limited seating and they tend to sell out much earlier than their already early closing time of 7pm. The hype around this place has been huge cause the line is out the door, over an hour wait, or sold out every time I've gone. I was lucky at 3pm on a Saturday thankfully. The pho and bun Bo hue were good. The large metal bowls they come in are actually really nice since it's a great portion. The flavors are there and imo I think the bun Bo hue could use more lemongrass. I've been here twice. The food is very good. You have to want soup or don't go. I've been there for lunch probably about five times now. I get the raw beef pho. Sometimes I get the eggrolls. They don't have a lot on their menu, but they do OK with what they have. Their place is very small and it gets quite crowded. They're quick cleaning up and getting more people in. They are clean. My husband and I used to always get pho from another spot down the street since we used to live right behind a pho spot. So we never used to venture out of comfort. But since we moved my mom and i decided to check this spot out and so glad we did. Located in the same plaza as 85 deg and 99 ranch in Chandler so a prime spot near other good Asian businesses... My friend and I arrived around 12:30 on a Thursday last week. There was a lil line out the door and every seat was taken inside. There are a couple tables with chairs on the outside. I ordered at the counter, the girl was really sweet but was very distracted since she abruptly talked to others three times while I tried to give my order. She gave me a number and I waited outside. I saw a group leave a table inside so I went inside but then I was told it was for the guy standing to the side who was getting his food next. So apparently you can't sit at any table until your food is ready? I don't know, that was confusing. I'm sure it's more laid back when it's not busy. I liked the aesthetics of the interior with the Vietnamese hats and plates on the walls. Bathroom was nice and clean as well as the tables and chairs. They need more napkins dispensers since a guy asked to take ours. It took 45 min from the time I ordered till the time I received my bun bo hue. I know they just opened and we came at a prime lunch hour so they are probably still working out the kinks. The portions are big so that's nice for the price. While my bun bo hue was good it was not spicy at all! Even my friend tried it, who doesn't like spicy, said there was no spice. If you know bun bo hue, it's a Vietnamese beef soup that is supposed to be spicy and that's what I was craving. There was also more shredded onions than noodles in there so that was meh. My friend's pho was good but they forgot to cook her egg rolls so they gave her two sodas to make up for it. So Ama's is not bad, I just don't plan on going again anytime soon. I usually have no issues, However, I ordered for pick up for my dinner at work, and this time, it seems whoever packaged up my food, forgot some items :( I got one tiny lime wedge, that was dry, I got very little of the toppings, and no chili oil when I ordered it, and it seems I got less of the steak.
