I think the removable pool fence is a great product, but I suggest you take note of the following: 1. Ensure, before the installer leaves, that there's not too much tension. You should be able to connect all of the hooks without leaving bruises on your hands. Do not trust that the tension will ease up after the gate is up for awhile and "settles". Mine did not. 2. Again, before the installer leaves, ask that the fence be entirely removed and put it back up, to ensure that the gate is still in proper alignment. The first time I reinstalled the fence, the gate didn't close. While I was sent a video on how to adjust the gate latch, and offered help in doing it myself if I emailed them pictures, there's a $175 service charge to come back out to the house. Follow-up: You're dead wrong about my intentions, Jason. I stand by my 2 suggestions above, to assist future buyers of your (great) product. read more

Initial installation service was good, the product looks nice. The fence is marketed as removable, easy to take down and put back up. One year after installation we took it down for the first time for a gathering at our house. When I attempted to put it back up I got to the gate section and the poles were bent at the bottom and would not fit into the holes drilled into the tile. Rather than stand behind their product after one year, A Safe Pool charged $125 to bend the poles back in order to fit, which were obviously a very tight fit from the beginning. I have been calling different pool fence installers for the last couple of weeks. Explaining that we have a pool fence already but just need it installed at our new property. I was referred by a neighbor on the NEXT DOOR app which is amazing for local referrals! I also have been asking several friends who are realtors in Phoenix and other nearby cities. Someone from the NEXT DOOR app suggested "A Safe Pool" whom I telephoned them and left a message. A few hours later the owner Jason telephoned me asking for specifics which I advised we need someone to install approx 30ft of fence with a gate, drill the holes into the cement where needed for the fence poles. He explained that they can do it however they have a min fee of $600, which I understand. HOWEVER, I was honest and told him thank you but we had two other quotes of $175 and $150 for maybe hour job and that I couldn't go with him but thank you. HE LAUGHED AND SAID GOOD LUCK WITH THAT AND HUNG UP! I wouldn't do business with this company much less this man/owner who was rude and condescending! I know this a safety gate, but it looks good in our yard and I feel SO much safer with my 5 year old and 10 month old. My 5 year old can't reach the top pull to open the gate and my 10 month old can stand up against the gate with no movement in the gate at all. The gate automatically closes too so no sneak outs! A Safe Pool was a great company. I left a message initially but got a call back within 30 minutes. They were very professional and gave me a quote over the phone base on my estimated linear footage needed and had 2 colors available. We 50% deposit paid in advance to book the appointment using a credit card over the phone. On the day of the appointment, the tech showed up on time and was very professional. The installation was super quick, 1 1/2 hours top and the guy explained everything to us before he started and discussed where to put the gate for safest entry. He did not discuss money at all and said the office would deal with all money related items After installation, the installed linear footage ended up being a little less, so our second 50% payment ended up being less than the original quote! Final payment was charged to the same card we paid our deposit with. The only criticism would be that They didn't charge my card with away, so just be prepared with the money available for +/- 5 days of the deposit/final payment date. What started out as a great experience turned in to a perfect example of how to not run a company. My wife and I had multiple companies quote us to replace our removable pool fence. JP, from A Safe Pool ultimately won our business after highlighting the fact that they can manufacturer exactly to the spacing of our existing holes - and, that they can drill new holes on one side to extend the fence out. He also sold us on the upgraded posts which will be firmer and more stable. We moved forward with a project of a couple thousand dollars - no small amount. After the installation I found that the fence had a LOT of movement. In fact, more than the previous fence that was being replaced. After not getting much help from Jason (the owner) initially I decided to review security cameras we happened to have and was blown away by what I found. Essentially the crew part way through the installation acknowledged: - The sales person had made mistakes (either in measuring, or in promising they could install in the existing holes) - The fence was loose and was not how it should be There would have been a few acceptable ways for them to handle this. Let me know as a home owner and review options, call the owner and discuss how to make it right, etc. Instead they said the following (word-for-word from the video): Installer 1 - "Look at that dude. I don't know. It is what it is dude." Installer 2 - "Why is that loose?" Installer 1 - "Who cares...he obviously didn't...it's all loose. it is what it is man we don't have any other stuff." Installer 2 - "That guys a f**** dumb *** dude." Installer 1 - "Check out the molding on the outside here (chuckles). Well, I'm not looking at it. Installer 2 - (chuckles) Installer 2 - "Can't make miracles happen dude" Installer 1 - "You know what my response is going to be...the guy that sold it to you, call him...he'll fix it" Installer 2 - "He's Mr. fix it" Time passes...one sees me through the blinds Installer 2 - "Carful, you've got eyes" Installer 1 - "Can't nobody hear anything with eyes." You would think that an actual video documenting this would make an owner quick to take accountability and resolve the issue. Not the case. Jason still hasn't taken ownership over the mistakes his company made, or the awful customer experience. After asking him to come out to resolve it he said he would send the original sales person. When I pointed out this made no sense because that person is part of who made the mistake and incentives to self preserve, not to admit to the mistake, he still wouldn't come out. Jason's (owner) final email to me said - "No one on our end made a mistake. The holes that were drilled by a different company aren't our fault. I am willing to see what we can do. Not sure what else I can do but make a time to get by there. JP has been with me for 15 years. He is quite capable of coming up with a solution." At it's core this is simple. I wanted to replace a fence without drilling new holes if possible. We chose this company because they said they could do that. The installation was poor, and video shows the crew knew there were problems while installing. Despite video the owner refuses to take any ownership and won't even enter into the situation. I'm left with no choice but legal action, BBB, Registrar of Contractors, etc. I called A Safe Pool because they had good reviews. And maybe on more simple jobs they do really good work - the reviews would seem to indicate that. But, the reality is the character of a person (or company) is revealed when something goes wrong. Jason has revealed his companies character. There are lots of other pool fence companies with good reviews - I'd recommend working with one of them vs. rolling the dice and hoping you don't have an issue needing resolution with "A Safe Pool." -------------------------------- A response to Jason's yelp response: - He is correct, this was installed last year. I asked him to come out many times to resolve the issue. My family went through a serious medical situation and this took a back seat until I reached out to him again. - It is loose, it is poorly installed (this is acknowledged by his own installers), and the customer service has been atrocious - especially his own. How much of a safety issue it is? How much a loose fence wares compared to a properly installed fence? I can't say. But I can say is $1,700 is a lot to pay for something done so poorly and his response says a lot. - He is correct, I have emailed him many times. His most recent reply prior to today defended the crew, didn't take ownership and offered to charge me $500 to come out and drill new holes. This wasn't acceptable. I can not say enough positive things about A Safe Pool. First, let me say that I just bought a new home and am doing a ton of home improvement projects for each project I am having 2-3 estimates on the different jobs. Pool service aside, Jason, my rep, was hands down my best professional to service me of ALL my services I have done. My new home has a pool and I have a 3 year-old so I new I needed something for my pool but new nothing about the difference between a net, cover and fence. Jason spent 3 hours at my house going over all of my options and pros and cons about each one. He was personable and patient with my constant flow of questions. He brought a sample gate, nets, etc so I could feel, touch, see the actual product. He was extremely knowledgeable about all of the products and what the pros and cons were of them. I had two other companies give me bids on the pool fence and neither of them new a fraction as much as Jason did and were at my house for like 20 mins. Further, the other providers had no sense of how to configure the fence in my yard. Next good news, cost! They were not the cheapest of the three bids but they were definitely competitive. But my favorite part was that they totally did not try and up sell me at all. I actually thought I wanted a product that was more expensive but knowing my needs he actually talked me out of the more expensive option because he thought I would be happier with the 4 foot instead of 5 foot fence. I really respected that he tried to give me a good product for my needs and not just sell more. Jason also had a sense of aesthetics and was excellent in offering configurations of the fence that would be practical and protect my yard space. On the day of installation I had two gentleman at my home who were professional and efficient. They clearly had discussed my plans with Jason and new what they were doing. They explained everything to me with how to latch and take down my fence. Further, they hosed down my patio and cleaned everything up before they left.
