Mrs. & I both had massages at A Simple Touch on a Saturday afternoon. Grabbed a quick lunch before our rub downs at the Oakville Grocer and checked in. I had a great deep tissue massage - usually I request a male masseuse out of concern that a female won't be able to go deep enough or will use a bony elbow to dig in. This wasn't a problem for my therapist for my massage. She was strong and had great skill at working out the knots. My wife had a swedish massage and said it was great. Prices were reasonable and they had appointment for the next day so we are definitely going back. The prices for two massages at A Simple Touch are about the same as a single massage at the Hotel Healdsburg spa - and given how great the massages were; I'm happy to get a second one in the same weekend. read more

Let me begin by stating that my first time ever getting a professional massage was here at A Simple Touch Spa. I won a gift certificate through a drawing at work for a 1 hour deep tissue massage. It wasn't until I was about to go on vacation that I decided to use it - I thought it would be a great way to get me to begin the relaxation process that is vacationing. My masseuse was very friendly and good about answering all of my questions. She even suggested drinking a lot of water to help with soreness. She was great about making sure that I was comfortable and that she wasn't hurting me (she didn't). I really liked how accommodating the staff here was (the questionnaire even asked me what music I preferred) - I would definitely go back. Overall, it was a great first experience. And it reminded me all too well that I need to relax more. I think they do discounts for locals and right now it says they are giving a 25% discount to military personnel that have been stationed in the Middle East. (Five stars just for that, if you ask me!) I regularly get massages at Simple Touch and always walk away completely refreshed and rejuvenated. From the considerate welcome-in to the departure, its always an inviting atmosphere. In addition, my most recent appointment with Sa'id for a deep-tissue was most exceptional. He really understand the body and found the sore spots and quickly worked away the aches and pains. He blends strength and finesse with deep knowledge of where and when to apply the right about of pressure. Highly recommend this place. We made an appointment for our family of 4, including two teenagers(!) for a 1 hour massage and collectively had a wonderful experience. I was really impressed by Saied, who was clearly an experienced and thorough massage therapist. Definitely one of the better massages I have had. Being prior military, I'm consistently succumbed to lower back and neck pain from constant gear use during my time in service. Knowing this, my grandma gave me her gift card to A Simple Touch for a deep tissue message. I was skeptical at first as I'm not a big message person, but I can say without a doubt I was proven wrong. The location alone was quaint and calming, the building being clean and appropriate. I was thankfully paired with Saied Jafari who's expertise and know-how is highly apparent in his end results. I visited A Simple Touch Spa because my neck was hurting. I work in the computer field and I can some times spend up to 8 hours in the computer a day. I am a dear friend of the owner as I do her computer and website work. I never thought doing body work would help but i wanted to give it a try anyway. The environment is very soothing and relaxing. While I waited they served me refreshments which was a nice touch. The staff was very friendly and talkative. I really appreciate that as some times I can be waiting and like to have conversation. After the massage I couldn't believe it but I felt like a new man!! So I guess I was wrong massages do help, I was just being stubborn. :) I highly recommend A simple Touch Spa simple because they make you feel special. read more

My girlfriends and I greatly enjoyed our spa time with Jin and her experienced staff, Nancy, Heidi, and Patty. Jin was quick to reply to my initial inquiry about booking a group spa date. And from the get-go, she was very professional, communicative, and accommodating. She made it easy to personalize massages, facials, and extra services for each of us four. She even offered to have snacks and juice available (we brought our own champagne to make mimosas.) Each of us stayed in our own rooms while the staff moved from one to the next, depending on the services requested. The spa doesn't have a soaking tub or sauna, but we were never interested in those things. The staff were all welcoming, and you can tell that Jin really cares about delivering the best service and she loves what she does. My friends commented that the massages were the best they ever had and the facial sessions were very informative. We hope to make an annual visit to Simple Touch! read more

Very sweet owner. The massage therapist, Nancy, was amazing! She found knots and spots I didn't know I had! My only complaint is that you can hear everything that is going on outside your room. Conversations, rummaging around in the back room, water running, doors closing, etc. Even with the music playing. It was not super quiet like I have experienced elsewhere. Looking at these reviews, I'm completely dumbfounded how anyone could possibly enjoy an experience at this place... unless there is one really great employee (perhaps the owner) and one dreadfully awful one. First, it was annoying just trying to make an appointment. Messages not returned, unclear answers to basic questions, like "what are your hours?" and "how far out are you typically booked?", and a general feeling that the employee I finally spoke with would prefer to close early than put in a full day for the income. The space itself leaves much to be desired as far as ambiance, but I can overlook that for a great massage. The first thing I noticed was that the room was far too cool. I do not chill easily, and I simply could NOT relax because I was so tense from being cold the whole time. As far as the massage itself... I literally questioned whether this employee (I believe her name was Heather) was certified. The lubricant she used was literally cold. I don't know what in the world it even was, because it soaked into my skin so quickly, it was as if she was rubbing on me with nothing. This caused my skin (which is NOT sensitive) to feel it was being pulled & rubbed raw. It was actually hurting my skin for her to rub it.... and did I mention her hands were COLD? Did I mention the room was cold? There was NO symmetry whatsoever to her method. She worked on one side longer than the other when she finally did work on arms and legs. But probably 90% of the massage time was spent with her standing at my head & rubbing with flat hands up/dwn/up/dwn/up/dwn/up/dwn/up/dwn... the middle of my back with no pressure. I seriously wanted to ask her what was going on, because she wouldn't move around. Lastly, I don't feel that aromatherapy is a must, but in this case, it was necessary, to cover up her BODY ODOR and BAD BREATH!! Her b.o. was noticeable enough face down, but imagine lying face-up with her at your head & not only having her pits in your face, but her lunch breath (I'm guessing onions & garlic) breathing on your face. Did I mention that her nose was stuffed up (she was sniffling the entire time) and she was breathing from her mouth? In the end, the phone up front was ringing & she ended abruptly (short of an hour) to go answer it. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this experience was a nightmare. The only saving grace is that I used a gift certificate, so I was only out a small tip (which I shouldn't have left). If the person who gave me the gift (a very influential member of our community) knew, she would be in there raising such hell. I'm a local in the fitness/coaching business, so they couldn't have screwed up with anybody worse. I have MANY clients looking for massage services. They couldn't possibly have failed more miserably. read more

Simple touch was recommended to me by my hotel in Healdsburg. Jin was fantastic. She was able to fit me in for a massage at night as my mom and I were driving into town. Jin's spa is the perfect respite to our fast-paced, on- the-go lifestyles. I arrived early for my massage appointment and Jin's warm welcome made me feel right at home. She offered me water, tea or a glass of wine. Saied at A Simple Touch Spa gave me one of the best massages I have ever had. I received a 75-minute hot stone massage from him this past weekend, and came out completely relaxed with all of my kinks worked out. He has wonderful strong hands, did some amazing work on my neck, hips, and jaw and was very careful about frequently asking me how I was doing and whether the pressure was right for me. My husband and I were looking for a massage when we got into town after some strenuous hiking in Yosemite. Jin was awesome, she was able to fit us in one after the other. I had a deep tissue and it was exactly what I needed to relieve some of the soreness. She was industrious and definitely worked for the full 60 minutes. Only reason it is a 4 star is because the atmosphere is a bit funny and when someone walked in the front door it was audible. Both are intuitive, skilled, friendly, appropriately quiet during massage, responsive to my needs.
