Places been sold recently foods get delivered made incorrectly on multiple different deliveries. Place is literally gone downhill food. Don't taste like it used to. They can't make a simple white chicken and broccoli pizza every time they have to add barbecue sauce when we never ask for it don't listen to instructions When placing order to place an order on the phone literally takes 10 minutes. I tried this place a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. Friendly host. Very friendly. Said they have been doing better lately with either new owners or management than they have done in the past. The host was super friendly and accommodating. I really hate leaving bad reviews, but in this case, I ordered from here BECAUSE of the reviews, and I don't want people to keep trusting what they read. The name of this restaurant also leads you to believe that this is Bronx-like pizza. But having been raised on the greatest apizzas by my Sicilian Grandma and my Abruzzese Grandpa, AND going to college in Long Island with relatives in Yonkers, I may not be the world's leading authority on pizza, (and I've eaten pizza all over Italy btw), but I come with a discerning, credible palate. This pizza, this SAUCE, is not only flavorless, but it's thick and chunky and very acidic: it's really, really, grotesque. So look at the pictures I posted: some things do NOT have sauce, and yet those items either had absolutely NO flavor (very little garlic with teeny tiny shrimp on a Scampi pizza; they should have called it Shrimp Skimpi pizza), were cooked improperly, or just plain tasted disgusting. In conclusion, just please consider that, in this area, we have tons of options when it comes to pizza, several of them great. Do yourself a favor and do NOT waste your hard earned dollars on this place. I ordered delivery, it was delivered quickly, and that made it convenient. Now I feel sick, and I feel guilty for cheating on my go to pizza place. Never again. read more

Considering I work right across the street this place it comes in clutch when I have no lunch. Although I come here for lunch because it's close to me this does not mean I wouldn't come back on my off time. The food here is very good. I've had their buffalo chicken sandwich and pizza and it's fantastic. I've also had their broccoli and ricotta pizza and I love it. Lunch gets pretty busy for this place so either call ahead or come without any hurry. I usually call ahead and say I'm going to eat in and they have my order ready when I get there. The only thing I would say is don't expect much from their service. Its very much a hit and miss but still a great spot to grub and did I mention they are BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle)? For dinner you can bring your own wine or drink of choice. I have never done this myself but it's a unique feature that you may not find too often. Give them a try! Tip: I have never seen more than one person in front of the house for lunch and it can get busy. Consider having someone else help out for this time period. read more

I really want to go for dinner here one night, but instead we tried delivery for the first time. We ordered a personal pie with bacon onion and sliced tomato. It was really good and the sauce is just spicy enough. They probably could've stayed in the oven another 30 to 60 seconds. We also got a Philly cheese steak grinder. There was a lot of steak and a lot of cheese in it! Along with a ton of onions and mushrooms. Nothing was lacking in the bread was soft and good! I can't wait to try a dinner from here! The delivery was also pretty fast and they got to my house within 45 minutes. Good job! Back again. Waiting for take out and eating meatballs. I was able to bring in wine with me. Even though I ordered before I got here and told him I would be ordering more , they did not come up to my table. I had to go up to the counter to order more or even look at a menu. That part kind of confused me. I was also not offered any glasses for my wine or any water. I'm sure the food is going to be great but these are all not great expectation to be for filled.... not sure... Maybe they just are not trained to do that I am not sure but it was weird. read more

I ordered Chicken Parmesan, Meatball and Sausage Entres, stuffed Mushrooms and 2 Canolies for a candle light dinner for my lovely wife and I. Unfortunately it had no flavor at all. The soup had a disappointing watered down consistency and the lack of flavor was simply not making their name an injustice to all of our pizza spots/restaurants in the BRONX where we're originally from. I'm hopeful that our dessert later on with our coffee will justify the $55 sadly spent. Their chef seems to have forgotten to bless the spaghetti sauce with salt and pepper and a pinch of sugar. The acidity was so great that we are now suffering with acid reflux! For the first time ever our little doggy refused to eat with us ...she didn't like it as well. A nice hole in the wall restaurant not far from where I live. The outside is deceiving. It doesn't look there would be seating but they have a few booths. The look is due to the fact that it's in a building strip with several other businesses. The food is good. I've eaten their a few times and the pasta is consistent and consistently good. I've had the penne ala vodka and their ziti with their marinara. The marinara is mild with a healthy amount of garlic in it. The sauce itself isn't sour or acidic. That's something that I look for in an Italian restaurant personally. Acidic tasting red sauce is a turn off for me. I enjoy the sauce here. The starters are enjoyable. The salad they serve is largely darker greens. I enjoy that but your mileage may vary! The hot garlic rolls that they bring out to the table are delicious as well. So I'm not Italian. I'm not qualified to tell you about Italian food in the Bronx. However, it checks a lot of the boxes for me. I've had several consistently good meals here. read more

I ordered take out from here after finding them on Restaurant.com. I ordered the Chicken Piccata and Chicken Marsala. When I walked in the place was small (tucked into the corner kf the Johnny B's plaza) but had booth/table seating. Its Italian themed. The people there informed me that Restaurant.com gift certificate was not valid as they don't participate in that site. Which I found odd since it had their name on it but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. They instead offered me their $5 off special as I was close to the amount to qualify and apologized. Getting past that, the food was very good. The dinner comes with your typical sides of pasta and these delicious little garlic bread dinner rolls. The Marsala was tender and the sauce was not too salty (just right). My wife enjoyed her Chicken Piccata too and said it was one of the better ones she's had. Although we had a snafu, I will definetly consider ordering from them again in the future. read more

"Worth the Wait". My Nonnie was born in the bronx and that's what spurred my interest in A Slice of the Bronx Restaurant. One of my friends went there recently and she loved it. I had to go and enjoy it for myself. The dining area is long and narrow with a few beautiful high back oak booths and a few small tables so reservations are highly recommended. It smells amazing when you walk in to be seated. I forgot that my friend said it's BYOB. So we weren't prepared this time with a nice bottle of wine to go with our dinners. Definitely next time. We placed our orders and admired the pictures on the walls as well as the cool lighting above the tables. Before the first course came out our waitress, Amanda, brought out little garlic knots with a killer marinara sauce for dipping. That sauce was so good, they could have brought me a dozen garlic knots with a bowl of the sauce and I would have been content for the night. My wife began her dinner with a nice salad with blue cheese dressing. I had the pasta fagoli. Lots of grated cheese, black pepper, and red pepper flakes added and that white pasta fagoli was excellent. My wife had the Spaghetti Bolognese served with a delicious bolognese sauce, mini meatballs, and shaved asiago cheese. I had the Braised Veal Osso Buco with a red wine reduction and served with scalloped potatoes and sauteed garden vegetables. It was so good that I didn't leave a speck on my plate. Even the marrow was tasty. Now, everything is made to order so it takes a little while. But I can assure you that its Worth the Wait. We ended our night with hand filled mini cannolis with a cappuccino and a tea. Very happy we came here so I could write my 50th review for Tripadvisor and my 40th review as a Yelp Elite. read more

Not sure who puts meals together there but when I order a meatball sub with no cheese, it should it least have sauce on it! Who da f&ck would order or eat a dry meatball sub???!!!! A hidden gem. Slice of the Bronx is a great option for local pizza. Their pizza is freshly made, tasty, and at an affordable price. I order here frequently and there was only one time where the cheese looked like it could've used more time in the oven. 9x out of 10 though, their pizza is perfect. It's worth a shot! read more

Walked in at 930pm and was greeted with, "Is there something I can help you with?" as if people walking in to a restaurant was a strange thing. I said, we would like to eat. This, apparently was not an acceptable answer as the girl quickly told us with a frustrated sigh, "we close in a half hour." I replied, "so, can we eat?" She told us to hold on and then went in the back. Came out and said, "you can have a seat, but the latest we will stay open is 10:15pm." With the sense of you better hurry up and eat then to her voice. We sat down, but then decided to leave because if they were this frustrated and annoyed with us coming in a half hour before closing, we were not sure of the quality of food we would have received. Fantastic Food & Desserts Just in the area for a few months- I've ordered delivery here 4 times. Tried the following dinners: Salmon Basilco, Veal Marsala, Chicken Marsala, Eggplant Rollatini, Eggplant Hero and ALL were amazing. I always custom order with sauce on the side so it is not too salty (low sodium diet) Courteous and helpful over the phone - all orders are prepared fresh. Garlic knots are perfection and the Cannoli's are made right before they go out the door. Salads are fresh and I order the pasta side dish with olive oil and garlic. Ok... the entrees are underwhelming at best. My veal saltimboca came in a Marsala sauce, which is ridiculous, but, my fault for not reading the menu and assuming it would be served in a white wine sauce. The veal was tough, at best, and rolled into a ball then sauteed. A total nightmare. The other two dishes, zuppa de Pesce and chicken Marsala were both below average. Will not return!! Ever!! Fantastic customer service!! We had ordered some pizza to be delivered to a friend going through a medical issue. Unfortunately, the family wound up at the hospital during the scheduled delivery, so the food could not be delivered. I called to explain what had happened. Spoke to the manager, Nick, who offered to deliver the pizza to the hospital himself. That did not work, so he offered to keep the ticket on file and honor the order when the family was ready for it. Dont be fooled, this is not a hole in the wall pizza joint. The exterior does this place no credit. They do serve slices and regular pizza joint fair, but if you sit down to dinner, you will find yourself transported to an old school Italian bistro thats more fine dining then pizza delivery. I used to be a regular here but I will never set foot in the place again. I had a reservation & just after arriving, someone came in behind us & sat down at a reserved table. That table was reserved for us. The waiter apologized & explained that the guy was the chief of police in Wolcott & he wasn't going to say anything to him because he didn't want to get arrested. The owner was told of the situation but did nothing either. They told us we could be seated in about 45 minutes. Really? Really? So, just saying that if you're waiting for your table or you have a reservation on a night that the chief of police of Wolcott decides he wants to just walk in & sit down, you won't matter. read more
