Caffe Benevento is a small place that offers authentic italian coffee and desserts along with daily lunch options. I stopped in for coffee and found out they have great Italian food to boot. I have tried the sausage and peppers and the chicken parm and both were delicious. They also serve beer and wine which is a big plus for me. The owner was really friendly and made me feel welcome. I like small places with great food and even greater personality. I really have had some good experiences here, so Waterbury secret or not I wanted to share.

I was very surprised. Normally at restaurants I have noticed that if they don't have free refills, they tell you before you order the second one or if they offer to get you another one. We were quickly seated by our server in the patio section and got our drinks in record time. We waited at a random table because there were no seats at the bar. After 20 minutes they took us down to the basement where we sat alone. They said they didn't expect to be that busy that night but it was a random Friday night, but it seemed like they just overbooked and didn't really care about us. If it wasn't a pain to find parking and absolutely pouring, I probably would have left, the vibes were weird.
