    Salad with cutlet
    Amelia Z.

Someone recommended the salads at this place. Unfortunately it was hard no on the breaded chicken cutlet on the salad. It was horrible, over cooked and 50% breading like it was triple coated. I ate the lettuce and left all the chicken. Meatballs were salty, tasted like just beef no pork, didn't care for the sauce but were edible. My partner had fish and chips, said they were good. Service was meh, never asked how the food was, despite not touching the chicken. Server returned when we were done, asked if I wanted a box for my chicken... if I didn't touch it there why would I take it home? Clearly young inexperienced servers so I tried not to be annoyed. Paid and left.

Cheshire Ale & Pizza was such a solid find. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space has a cool darker vibe with bar seating in one area and a separate section for dining, which gives it a nice balance between casual drinks and sit down dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Brussels sprouts were honestly amazing. Perfectly cooked with just the right balance of crisp and flavor. The hot honey pizza was delicious, with sweet heat and those peppers adding a subtle kick that did not overpower anything. Every bite had that perfect sweet savory spicy combo that keeps you going back for more. I also tried one of their wraps and added avocado, which was a great call. Fresh, creamy, and it really elevated the whole thing. The drinks were just as good. We had a Pink Cosmo and a tequila with soda water, both refreshing and well balanced. Great food, great drinks, and a laid back vibe. Definitely a place I will be coming back to.

GREAT tasting food. I love the Brussels, Mac n cheese balls, and their lavender spritz. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great service and vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am so happy to have found this place.

I've been here twice in the last week, so that is always a good sign! The first time I came with a group of friends and had their drinks, which were amazing, and their pulled pork Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was so tasty and cheesy and melt in your mouth! I would definitely recommend getting that. They also have a page of affogatos to order on the last page of their menu and you can make it boozy! So needless to say I had one of the best affogatos of my life with baileys in it, yum! The second time I came for a working lunch and tried their pizza. We had three different kinds, the chicken bacon ranch, potato pizza, and their spicy roni. The pizza was amazing as well. My fave was the spicy roni or the potato? I don't know it was a tough decision, but what's not a tough decision is that I will be back to sample more menu items! Thank you Cheshire Pizza!

A quick dinner with some friends and we were all pleasantly surprised with the vast selection of food options. Funny enough, we didn't even try the pizza! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cute and comfortable space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everyone was super friendly and answered all of our questions. Stormalong Orchard Cider ($7) {4.5/5}: Our waitress suggested this for me and she also recommended adding a sugar/cinnamon rim for the fall season, 10/10 recommendation. The cider wasn't overly sweet and paired well with the cinnamon sugar Bourbon honey Brussels sprouts ($10) {4/5}: A very delicious fried dish, though too salty for my taste. I ended up adding this to my salad Caesar salad with steak ($11, +$10) {3.5/5}: Great portion with fresh greens. Lower rating because of some mushy areas on the steak. A little bland overall so the brussels sprouts app was perfect to add in

First visit here and what a great experience with this little place we're driven by without even noticing. Love the decor, it just felt relaxed and comfortable. The service was fast and friendly, with a single mistake rectified smoothly and quickly so no need for a dropped star. The food was fabulous! The Buffalo chicken fried dumplings were so tasty like mini empanadas. I planned to order a salad as they looked so good, but the chicken avocado panini was calling to me and if poutine's EVER on the menu I have to try it, and I wasn't disappointed!!! My girls had; one of the several Mac and cheese dishes and the AM/PM burger and both were thrilled with them. Cocktails were delicious and generous pours! We'll definitely be back!!!

    The Mash Pizza (large)

It makes me glad when I find a wonderful spot in my hometown. This little restaurant -- nestled in between Stop & Shop, the library, and that place that used to be a video store -- is a paragon of the Greek pizza style, though they take many liberties with the toppings. They do a strong delivery game (either via phone or your favorite delivery app) but their waitstaff is even better. We usually split a large pizza and a salad, the latter of which is big enough for two adults. The Greek salad is one of our favorites. This time, we got The Mash, a white pizza with bacon and mashed potatoes, and only three slices of this square-cut pizza made it home. There's a few dozen reasons why I stop here almost every time I'm in town. Someday I'll taste them all.

Recommended: Yes, especially for fans of Greek-style pizza. Overall: A solid choice for Greek-style pizza with a convenient takeout option. Snapshot: Food: 4/5 Drink: NA Vibe: NA Service: 5/5 Value: 4/5 ‍‍ Family-Friendly: 3/5 Highlights: Perfect For: Enjoying Greek-style pizza and other flavorful dishes Don't Miss: The well-cooked pizza with tasty toppings Bonus Tip: Great for takeout, especially if planning to visit local spots like Counter Weight Brewing Co. All The Details: We did takeout from Cheshire Pizza & Ale to enjoy at the nearby Counter Weight Brewing Co. While Greek-style pizza isn't my personal favorite, I can appreciate the quality they offer. The pizza was well-cooked with a nice, thick crust, and the toppings were both good and flavorful. The ordering and pickup process was straightforward and hassle-free. Although I typically lean towards New Haven-style pizza, my husband enjoys Greek-style, so I can see us returning. We've dined in previously and tried other menu items, which were consistently flavorful and served with great, friendly service. However, the restaurant space is quite cramped, so it's not the most family-friendly option. But for take out it's definitely one of the best options in the area!

    Classic Cheeseburger - delish!

My son and I were looking for something casual after playing tennis, so we decided to stop here. It's been years since I've been here, and I'm so glad we decided to try it! We ordered cocktails, and I had the St Germain Cucumber Spritz - tart and refreshing! They have a nice selection of wings, so we ordered 10 of the House Dry Rub - the wings were large, crispy with a lot of flavor. For our meals we both ordered a burger. I ordered the Classic, and my son ordered the CPA Signature, both medium rare. I must say, this was a delicious burger! The burger was huge and cooked perfectly. I like how they grilled the bun, and the bun was not too big, so it didn't take away from the burger itself. It was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time! My son said the same thing about the CPA Signature. Place was packed by the time we left around 7:00pm. Casual, fun, and lively atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

I ordered a large cheese pizza, and it has to be one of the best I've had in a long time. The crust was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of char, not greasy at all, and every bite was packed with flavor. You can really tell they use quality ingredients and put care into every pie they make. It's that kind of pizza where you immediately know you'll be thinking about it later. Honestly, I wish my wife and kids were here to try it with me--they would've loved it. I'm from California, and I can say I haven't had many pizzas back home that compare to this. It's that good. In fact, I ended up coming back a second time before heading home because I just couldn't pass up another chance to have it again. That alone should say everything. On top of the amazing pizza, the employees were friendly and welcoming, and you can tell it's a family-owned business that takes pride in what they do. That kind of atmosphere makes the experience even better. If you're anywhere near the area, I highly recommend stopping by Fuoco Apizza. Whether you heard about it from Barstool or not, it absolutely lives up to the hype. You won't be disappointed.

If you like New Haven style pizza, which is arguably the 'esemplare' of all pizza, then visiting The Little Rendezvous is a MUST visit if you live within 90-min. Plan a trip to visit some store you want to go to, a beach visit or whatever, just find a way to circle The Little Rendezvous into the trip! The crust is thin with a crackery-crunch, the sauce is at a another level and the mozz and roni are high-quality deliciousness! Rendezvous stands tall with any of the well known top-3 pizza joints in New Haven. Dave's score of 9.1 (if you are unaware of the reference, then pizza isn't your thing) is right on point, and I'd go as far as scoring it slightly higher at a 9.2 based on my visit. The building is something out of folklore. The building is all of about 20ft. wide, and when you enter, it is immediate, Steve (owner/chef) is all about the pizza. To be clear, most will consider Rendezvous to be take-out only. There is zero decor, less signs made with cardboard and sharpie notifying you that wait times of hours are real..... so be sure to call ahead. You walk past the most basic seating area of 3-4 small tables with bare walls, and then proceed to walk down an oddly long and narrow sloping hallway which leads you to the service counter/kitchen which houses the 130-year old oven! It's honestly something you could only imagine out of a movie...... the hole in the wall that is creating high-quality, delicious pizzas! Why or how you ask? The answer is simple, Steve! The guy clearly has a passion for making pizza and has dedicated his life to doing so. I met the 'man-the myth-the legend' on my visit, and he kindly even took the time to chat with me. The latter worked as the head chef for Krust Pizza & Bourbon Bar in Middletown. The venture initially started out as a pizza pop-up that would appear at various Connecticut breweries and festivals. The partners quickly gained a following with their delicious pies. One of the breweries that Ritual frequently crafted pizzas at was Labyrinth Brewing Company in Manchester. In November 2023, Ritual opened a brick & mortar location inside of Labyrinth complete with a new Pizza Master oven. Everything was going well for the pizzeria until a gigantic ball was dropped in July 2024 when Labyrinth announced that they would be closing their doors by the end of the month. For the rest of the year, Ritual went back to operating as a pop-up venture. In February 2025, Ritual opened their new brick & mortar location inside Counter Weight Brewing Company in Cheshire. In addition to their delicious pizza pies, the menu also consists of smash burgers, hot dogs, fries, and various small plates. My family and I tried out food from Ritual Pizza Co this past summer while we were at Labyrinth Brewing. We had stopped in for lunch after visiting a fire museum nearby. I had visited Labyrinth a few times before, but this was my first visit since Ritual set up their pizza kitchen there. I had been following them on social media for a while and I had been anxious to try their pizza. We decided to order and share the "Pepperoni" (shredded mozz, oregano, pepperoni) and the "Street Korn Pie" (shredded mozz, braised chicken, chunky bacon, ranch drizzle). We also ordered a side of "Mac N' Cheese" (mac n' cheese topped with toasted ritz crackers) for our younger son who prefers pasta to pizza. The pepperoni pie had some great sauce, crust and flavor. We mainly ordered it for our older son; pepperoni is his favorite. The one that really impressed my wife and I was the Street Korn Pie. It was an excellent fusion of Mexican and Italian cuisines; so much flavor! Just 10 days after our visit, Labyrinth announced that they would be closing their doors. Ritual soon released a statement announcing that they had every intention of reopening at a new location. I was so happy to hear that they have now reopened at Counter Weight and I look forward to eating their delicious pizza again!

So thoughts immediately went to "this place better be good for the money." I checked out the menu, and the prices seemed a little high for lunch. My expectations are running really high for this place to perform Upon pulling into the restaurant, which is gorgeous, parking was a breeze as the lot was very large in size After about a 25 to 30 yard walk, we entered the greeting station, and the young lady was there seating everybody promptly upon arrival. I love the walkway up to this area. Looking at the outdoor seating, there were many tables with these beautiful umbrellas it was a no-brainer to ask for an outdoor table to enjoy the surrounding plantings, and the early summer sunny weather This was lunchtime, and it was rather crowded The waitress came over and immediately poured us some ice water, and the second trip delivered us some bread with some olive oil and Parmesan, along with some hot pepper flakes. This bread was so warm with a solid crust, I could've made an appetizer just out of dipping this into the seasoned olive oil. It's a good thing there were only four pieces of bread as I could've eaten a lot more and filled up on it. I ordered the Classico Panini for $21.00. The sandwich consisted of grilled marinated chicken breast, roasted red peppers, arugula, mozzarella, and pesto, on a grilled Panini bread. I also chose the hand cut, french fries as the side. Within 20 minutes, the food arrived, and the presentation was spectacular I was immediately drawn to the french fries, which were a little bit soggy and taste it like they were sitting for a little bit, and they were served in this cute little silver bucket with ketchup on the side. I would give these a 6 or of 10. Now to the Panini... This was a spectacular choice. All the flavors with this grilled chicken breast playing off each other made this one memorable sandwich. This type of sandwich is out of my wheel horse, and I'm glad took a shot and ordered it! I took half the sandwich and a few of the french fries home with me. It was that filling! My friend had a fish sandwich with french fries on the side, served on a soft roll. She liked her lunch very much, as she's a regular here and enjoys the lunch choices. She took half of her lunch home with her. Now... Looking around I saw those eggplant chips piled high with the dipping sauces and said man o man, those look delicious. I think I'll order those next visit I also saw some really big salad choices coming out. They look like it even though I'm not one for salads for lunch. The mussels in marinara sauce served to the table next-door, looked like a hit. Cocktails were flowing these drinks specials and martinis were just everywhere! That tells me this is the place to go after work to have martinis in an appetizer In my 66 years around the sun, I would rate this as one of the best restaurants in Central Connecticut. Definitely a top five. If you have a chance to get here, come for lunch first sit outside enjoy a cocktail, and be prepared to serve huge portions of delicious offerings Service was with a smile and professional, this place was hit on all cylinders for lunch It was pointed out to me that the owner was making the round saying hi to people. I love this touch. This was really really cool. Lunch with the tip was $50, a bargain in any person's budget I would rather come here than hit one of the burger, chains, or steak chains This is local. This is locally owned. This is amazing. I really enjoyed being a guest here and I look forward to coming back shortly!
