I explained what I wanted and she completely understood the look I was going for. I had never had a Brazilian or dyed my hair ombre, but she made me feel completely comfortable and I could trust that it would turn out like I envisioned. Not only did she successfully complete the look I was going for, she matched the tone, color and style to what worked with my personal appearance so it turned out even better than I thought it would. I found Ramses through a post on a friend of a friends FB page. I've been looking to move salons since I recently moved closer to Beverly Hills so I decided to make an appointment. I'm so glad I did! I have very straight, fine hair. I never seem to get a haircut that gives me any body until I saw Ramses. Ramses is a true artist! He doesn't just cut your hair he gives you a "style" that will compliment your face. He is definitely a master. He took his time to explain what he was doing and I appreciated that. I am so happy with my hairstyle. I brought my mother to see him a week later. My mom was also extremely happy with her haircut. China did her color and with both haircut and color she looks 20 years younger! Ramses is also a very sweet person. He is passionate about his work and it shows. I've had long-brown hair, with little style, for as long as I can remember and it was time for a change. Being new to the area, I had to do a little searching for a stylist and I came across Benji at A.T. Tramp. I wasn't exactly sure what cut I wanted, I just knew that I needed something new and refreshing. Upon my first visit, I briefly explained my main expectations which were something shorter and more stylish. Having already given him few limitations with my hair, I was a little scared when he suggested highlights, considering I had never colored my hair before. Anyhow, I took his word for it and put all trust in his hands. He was phenomenal. My hair turned out to be a beautiful golden-brown color with the added highlights and the cut was perfect. They are EXCELLENT! When I moved to LA five years ago, I really needed a place to get a great cut that would last AND a salon that understood how to work with African-American hair needs. A coworker of mine (who is Indian-American) had a fabulous cut and I asked her who did her hair. She raved about Sonia at AT Tramp so I tried Sonia out. Now, I won't let anyone else cut my hair. Sonia not only has excellent training but she understands ALL KINDS OF HAIR TYPES. I needed someone that was familiar with damaged thin hair and, in particular, could give me a blonde that looked as natural as possible. Janelle more than met this challenge and I have been going to her ever since. You can't go wrong in this salon. Everyone working here is top notch and have been trained by masters. Jeong Choi is a genius with hair color, and I trust her instincts 100%. I get compliments on my color from other hairdressers!! Jen Pond has been cutting my hair for years, and does a fantastic job of giving me just the right haircut - not too short and not overdone - but amazingly just falls effortlessly into place. There is no Beverly Hills attitude here - just great service by really great people who are passionate about what they do. Even the receptionists and assistants are great (Pilar!). China has taken care of my hair color for many years and she just took me through a major change with her usual professional attention to detail. My colorist Janelle Varada moved from the Juan Juan salon to this salon and I would follow her anywhere she goes! But happen to really love this relaxed salon with no attitude or pretension. She is the best colorist that has ever made me blonde like no one before and then she took me from platinum blonde to dark brown recently and I have never seen anyone do it so quickly and seamlessly. I have intense curly hair. I have had some great haircuts on both the east and west coast, but eventually, I am let down. This has not been so with Sonya. Because of my curl I am a very nervous client. Sonya puts me so at ease that I could actually nap in her chair. She really listens to me and the results show in a haircut that is great EVERY time!!!!! I know there are a lot of people out there who claim to be curly hair specialists, but Sonya really is. What I like about him is that, I tell him what I want and he does that, to the T. It is a beautiful place and everyone is very friendly--even the other customers. China does beautiful work and she is a very nice person. Despite the location, I found this salon to be surprisingly non-intimidating. Laid back even. So happy to have found Lisa, who is now my official LA colorist. (I don't do my hair often but am super picky... when I do, I want to make sure the money is well spent.) She got my eyebrows to complement my new hair color, gratis! Plus they supposedly have complementary massages, but I wouldn't know about that since I was late so didn't get one. read more
