Previously Javier was a Volvo-certified mechanic at the Volvo dealership before branching out and opening his own company. I have had regular maintenance completed (oil change, tire rotation, AC serviced), plus larger jobs such as changing the timing belt. Each was completed in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. A written estimate is given up front for your authorization. If an additional service is needed, they will call you to approve before working on it. So, there are no surprises or up-charges when you pick up your car. Last month, I heard a "noise" I had the A+ Volvo company check it out. After a thorough evaluation and testing, they found the cause of the problem, which, thankfully, was easy to repair in 10 minutes. Got a 2015 XC60 with 130K miles and original timing belt! The first thing I do is to find a place to get it replaced! Javier the manager was reasonable and quick to book an appt and Jose the mechanic was efficient getting the service done within a few hours. The Strut and Drive Belt Replacement on my 2013 Volvo C70 was successful but the engine gravel pan was not screwed on/it nearly came off when I was driving. Javier misdiagnosed a camshaft, crankshaft, oil seal leak from the timing belt area. The oil leak was for a passenger side front axle assembly that needed to be replaced, not the aforementioned parts. Also misdiagnosed a check engine light - that was for a camshaft adjustor solenoid on the exhaust side, not an improperly installed timing belt. Called for a quote on the passenger side axle assembly replacement. Quote was for $350, 3x as much as 2 Guys from Sweden (charged $120/ 1 hr for that repair) read more

Forgot to leave this review but I had my Volvo taken care of by Javier and his assistant I forgot the name unfortunately. It was a little on the high side $$$ but I can guarantee he will get the job done right. He really took care of me in one day last second for Cutting a key & Programing it to my car all within the same day he also fixed my abs lights that have been on for months. I got a used Brake control module unfortunately (xemodex.com if it ever happens to you for a waterproof and heatsink BCM protection with lifetime warranty) then a new brake switch as well a few other things like center console shifter replacement etc. I will keep bringing my car here, quality over quantity. Almost 5 years ago, Bozzoni Volvo closed up shop and I was left with the choice of getting my 2007 C70 serviced in Pasadena or Ontario...or finding an independent shop. Luckily, I stumbled across A+ Volvo. Javier, Jose and Sharon provide excellent service at a fair price (if you're rolling a Volvo, you know it's not gonna be cheap). Further, if you need something (smog check, body work, a detail, window tint, etc.), they'll hook you up. Case in point: A few years ago, I casually mentioned to Sharon that I was thinking of getting a late(r)-model Volvo wagon for camping trips and that sort of thing. Within a week, Javier called and told me that if I was still interested, he could put me in a 2000 Volvo XC. This is the best Volvo repair shop I have ever been to...actually the best mechanic in general that I have ever been to. They are very trustworthy, friendly, super helpful, reliable, and have amazing customer service. I honestly can't imagine taking my car to another mechanic. Javier, Sharon, and Jose are THE BEST and go the extra mile. I found A+ Volvo Repair via Yelp when my window got stuck in my previous 2001 S40 back in early 2014. Since then, I have actually purchased a 2000 S80 from Javier. It was my first time buying a car on my own, and I can say that it was a great experience and couldn't have asked for a better one. He is honest, reasonable, upfront, and I greatly appreciate that. Dealing with car issues is terrible enough, but just knowing I have A+ Volvo makes me feel so much better. There have been plenty of times where Sharon has listened to me rant (unfortunately for her) and made me feel better just having lent a ear. She has picked me up a few times when my car was in the shop. There have also been a handful of occasions where they lent me the loner white Volvo so I can get around. I've reviewed A+ Volvo before but after a recent and yet another great customer service experience, I wanted to add this feedback. I've been a long time customer and maintain my car according to the service schedule, I also generally take care of recommended (but not urgent) repairs right away, my 2012 S80 runs great and is well taken care of. You can imagine my surprise when it recently did not pass a routine smog test and so I called Javier; he asked me what kind of gas I use and I said that I use 87 (regular unleaded). Javier advised me to switch to 91 (premium), and wait until I used a couple of tanks before re-testing, he also had me come by so he could put in a Volvo authorized fuel additive. Javier explained that less expensive 87 gasoline can make the sensors "dirty" and unable to work correctly, but that a couple of tanks of 91 should clean the sensors and I would also get better gas mileage which would make up for the expense of using premium. I did exactly as he told me, and my car not only passed the smog test, but I'm averaging between 35-50 miles more per tank. It's exactly situations like this that have earned and continue to earn my trust. Javier and his team are honest, their prices are reasonable, and I have never been advised to make repairs that are not necessary. With a failed smog test and unable to renew my registration until it passed, I could have been told anything or faced a number of unnecessary repairs somewhere else, but not here. If you're looking for honest, reliable, and factory trained repairs and at a fair price, A+ Volvo is the only place to go, I won't take my Volvo anywhere else! read more
