The first time I went by, Sonny was at first very defensive and a little condescending about my trade in value. Honestly treated me like a moron. This changed when I matched his condescending energy by correcting some of his more blatant lies as he spewed them in real time. Its cars so I get it. Sonny was dishonest and cold in general-in hindsight. He'll try to convince you your trade value is flawed, or undesireable. Telling you that its features actually diminish its value. Insulting to say the least. He underestimates the intelligence of his customer base and gets flustered by any inquisition into his applied logic. This is likely as he has admitted engaging in predatory lending practices with Westlake Financial as his only financing option. I imagine its literally his business model to sell cars to those in dire straits and credit disrepair. Basically a glorified chop shop. Auction cars with bs issues getting wheel tire combos to sell to young inner city kids in a predatory manner. In trying to get something for my 16yo he admitted this. Had I not been recovering from my own credit murder via divorce Id never set foot in these despicable establishments. They seemed explicitly designed to exacerbate the financial struggles of those with little to no financial literacy. Sonny seems to revel in this manipulative game. The combination of his condescension and general over valuation of his auction cars leads me to believe Ive made a very serious judgement error in trusting this family with my auto needs. Im sure hes very succesful financially with this method. His family seem nice... I should note the car I purchased 3 months ago from A1 Carz and Sonny in particular has these new issues. Breaks are failing. Alignment is bad. Electric windows have 75% failure rate. Rotors are bad, 3 of 4. AC control module failed. Found aftermarket spacers installed at rotors without proper torque. Slipping Transmission. Overspray... So anyways stay away if you want a decent car place to do business at. There are better options out there I suppose for those trying ti repair their credit. I recently purchased a used car from Sonny. He made the process completely easy and was very nice and treated me and my wife very well. I did not have the best credit, but he was able to work with me and put me into a vehicle I really wanted. An issue came up with a check engine light a few days later. Not uncommon on used cars. I called Sonny and told him about the check engine light. He asked me to bring in the car. Within a couple of days, Sonny had the problem taken care of! This place is a joke literally joke of a business it's a scam. First they buy cars from auction and "fix" them up it's mostly cosmetic fixes to make the car look nice on the lot. I found a Subaru Impreza I liked there seemed fine at first but I took it to a Subaru dealership for them to inspect the car and there was a butt load of issues on it. Bushings are bad, timing belt needed to be replaced, leaking head gasket and so on. If I have bought the car I would spend up to $4000 just in repairs. If you you buy a car from there beware they sell lemons and that used car you buy from there will have guaranteed issues the next day. STAY AWAY FROM THERE THEY'RE SCAMMERS. read more

When I contacted this company June 1, 2019, I spoke with Albert, a sales rep for the company. I stated that I wanted a car my disabled mother would rely upon for transportation, specifically stating I didn't want something breaking down on her leaving her stranded on the side of the road, especially in 100 plus degree weather. Upon further discussion, he stated that the 2005 Honda Civic that I was interested in was unquestionably reliable and had been kept up on maintenance. I proceeded to make arrangements to buy it and have it transported up to her residence for her birthday on June 6th. Not two weeks later, she's calling me broken down on the road, being towed to a local mechanic because a coil went out. Contacted Albert, whom stated he would make it right and never did. Once that was paid for out of my pocket, and less than a week later, she's broken down again on the freeway in the middle of summer. Come to find out, the car is devoid of all fluids! This time indicates that the car was never serviced by them! Also, this means even more mechanical damage as in a cracked block and complete motor replacement! They also continued to follow up after I left with the car in regards to how it was running and how I liked it which made me even more comfortable with my purchase. My bank loan took longer than hoped to finalize and they were understanding and even allowed me to leave with the car with just a deposit down while we waited for my bank to process the loan. At all other dealerships I was tired of being chased around the the sales staff and not able to just look around myself and see what I liked. This place was amazing! The sales man was great! After greeting me he allowed me to browse the cars at my own pace and was always there when I had any questions or concerns, I didn't feel over whelmed by the fact that I was being forcefully convinced to buy this car or that. This place is nothing but a bunch of schemers trying to get whatever off their lot. At first glance, you will see many attractive looking cars, but you will only find that once you leave the lot 3 weeks later the car you spent way too much money on in the first place ( $5500 for a 2002 Honda Civic with 150,000 miles) - has a blown head gasket and now I'm having issues with the catalytic converter . Seriously, and when I told the owner he hangs up on me mid-conversation and I could not get a hold of him after, until I bombarded his cell phone. At which point he told me, that since I purchased the car and its' off the lot there is nothing he can do for me. Okay, I am a broke college student, who spent my whole savings on this car, and he wants and cares nothing to do with helping me on the lemon of a car he sold. Then, after bugging him again he agreed to helping "20% only if I go to HIS mechanic" who his mechanic is the one who passed the car only with an inspection saying it was okay, why would I want to go to him? Anyways, I ended up getting it fixed for $700, which was the best deal I could find. I am still left with the catalytic converter issues ( another $500) so I have spent $6700 on an old car. Don't be fooled by the no frills location! Sunny and his guys are great and provide a good used car at a fair, no haggle price. We bought a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse over 5 years ago and it is still a great little car at 120,000 miles now! Had to do some usual maintenance on a car of this age last year ( new clutch on the manual transmission and had to replace one of two the catalytic converters were the most major repairs and we did the cat). Sunny even installed new brake pads and rotors, and tires when I had concerns about them when we were buying. I would not hesitate to recommend to everyone and/or buy another car from him. read more

The day after buying my vehicle, had I written a review then, it would have been 5-stars. Albert was extremely helpful and I did not feel I was being pressured at all. Unfortunately, 2.5 weeks after buying my vehicle, my head gasket blew and now a sweet deal has turned into financial ruin. When I look back on my process of buying the car, I realize that they knew the vehicle was faulty. As I was opening my car door to drive away from A1, Albert said, "Oh yeah, and we didn't change the oil, you'll want to do that soon." I should have backed out and torn up the contract then. As a previous auto-glass technician that worked for used-car lots, I know that oil changes are one of the first things that are completed by car lots. If they hadn't done it, it was either complete incompetence or they simply didn't want to expose that they knew there was a problem at all. There were other shady business practices displayed that day from A1, including talking badly on other car-lots nearby, telling me that to drive the vehicle to my auto-shop would go against their insurance coverage, and even possibly pocketing $400 of my down payment while telling me to lie to my lenders about my total down-payment in order to cover a "fee" that I never received a confirmation for. I recommend that no one spends a dime there. A1 Carz is a terrible, untrustworthy company. read more

The price was one of the lowest, especially for a Lexus IS, in a 500 mile radius...so I was optimistic I might get a good deal. When you drive up to their shop, it doesn't look like much....but remember, "QUALITY" first, and "don't judge a book by its cover"! I was motivated to buy, and I had my finances and money in order, so it was only a matter of agreeing on price. I was pleasantly surprised that Sonny and Ali really do care about my business and bent over backwards to try and accommodate me. After a little back and forth, they came down even further (on a good price). In no time, I was out driving a beautiful Lexus! The service I got was great and I felt like I got a fantastic deal.
