Had a buyer my father in law that was going to buy that day. Pretty easy deal, liked the vehicle had down payment and wasn't too worried about haggle with vehicle price. Came to the first pencil the salesman had his manager deliver, with pretty good credit after doing it app had it at over 17% apr. and 800 a month when the salesman made up a silly 300/month payment on the lot. I've been in sales for over a decade and was always told to not make up numbers outside. Especially if they are over $500 apart! Well long story short, there wasn't any "let's see what we can do" it was ok well good luck! An hour later he bought the same vehicle locally for way less down payment, better price and 7% Apr. Went in to do an oil and filter change. I went super early and I made it as the second person in line for the same service. They were pretty quick too. After checking me in, they directed me to their waiting area. Coffee machine, vending machine and rest rooms. The space was large. Within less than 30 mins, it was all done. I have a mixed review of the place since its soo so busy here. The car buying experience was great since we were referred to go with Barry and one of his apprentices. I'm sure there are other great employees here but working with We opted to subscribe to maintenance services done here so we'd get free tires when the time comes for replacement, but I'm having second thoughts after today's experience and seeing all these negative experiences from others here. Anyway, here's our experience today. We had a 10a appt for accessory installation and our "handler" was not at all interested in our satisfaction. We just bought a brand new car and just spent close to $700 in accessory upgrades and this guy is scoffing at detailing the car, remediating a headliner stain that was there before we bought it and a chip that was found on the edge of the door during the new car inspection. I don't know if he's the best they've got but he sure acts like he is. If you get Mike Choy, try to ask for someone else cus getting work done with him was really really annoying. There's a sticker with a motto "carefree maintenance" applied to the windshield of the car, but I really really don't get the impression that's what's actually delivered. After 3hrs, the headliner spot was still noticeable but I just didn't want to deal with him anymore. I had to insist with the payment department that he walk me through the installation work of the accessories before signing off on it, and even then I had to prod for details. Mike was basically was like: "look, there's your car, bye" Sales is great, finances great, shuttle guy chuck was awesome, but I don't like the service from the accessories installation. With this outlook, I'm Not looking forward to getting regular maintenance done here. read more

I bring my car here for routine maintenance. Oil changes, tire rotation, filter's, etc. Just a warning, for a service that should take 30 minutes maximum, it takes several hours at EG Honda. Customer service is seriously lacking. When I was told it would take 2 hours for someone to pick me up, I was a little shocked. I was told "I'm not the only person who brought their car in today". Since I had a $15 coupon, I came here for an oil change. The guy tackled on a tire rotation, because I guess that's standard. I declined that service though. When it was all done, the service advisor wasn't available to talk to me about the multi-point inspection. They were able to call another advisor to go over the paper with me though. We bought two new Hondas in 2018 from Elk Grove Honda , a crv and a civic. Have taken in our cars for service for the entire time. Fast forward our crv just blew an engine gasket and it took a week for it be repaired. When we went today to pay our Over$5,000 bill, my husband was told 'we charge 3%to use a credit card' . This isn't a mom and pop restaurant, I would expect Honda is doing well enough they could afford to pay the credit card charge. I came here because my head gasket had blown. They let me know it would require an engine swap which I was already aware of. When I asked for the quote they quoted me over $9k and told me the repair is more than what my car is worth and I shouldn't even keep it. I towed my car away to a different mechanic that replaced my entire engine for $2k. They did not want to do the work and clearly just wanted me to buy a new car. Do not come here. This is literally a HONDA dealership that didn't want to help a HONDA CUSTOMER. They have now burned me as a customer and I will not be buying Hondas anymore. I helped a relative lease a Civic Hybrid. The first dealer offer was for MSRP plus $1700 of worthless add-ons. I said we are not paying for that junk. The salesman came back with what looked like an even better deal than I requested. I said "deal." After they closed I saw the offer sheet and they added the junk. Their window sticker says "Dealer offer... includes all dealer installed accessories." We were deceived. My offer included that sticker. They switched to the MSRP sticker. Don't bait and switch. I drove into my appointment this morning and I really don't have a preference to who my service advisor is but today I met with a man named Micheal Yang and let me tell you this guy was on it from the start. I mean 8 in the morning happy to help he was truly a joy to talk to and made me feel confident in giving him my car. I went in for new tires and a multi point inspection and about 20-25 minutes later after I dropped my car off he updated me on how my car is overall and genuinely expressed concern and care about my car. He even showed me a video of how my tire is wobbling due to my rims being damaged! I will from now on always have Micheal Yang as my service advisor and if I can't I'll schedule on a different day! I have rated the service score 3 out of 5 at best regarding my recent car service at Elk Grove Honda. Honestly, the service intake started out great but resulted in disappointment. Please let me explain below. I initially took my Honda in for a fuel pump recall. As noted on the intake invoice, in addition to the fuel pump recall, I requested my tires be inspected due to low pressure readings and warning on my dashboard. I explained to the Service Advisor my concern about low pressure readings. Specifically, the left rear tire reading 20 psi and the right tire at 28 psi. Additionally, I explained I put air in all tires and the warning light disappeared. However, I requested a psi check on all tire's just in case there was damage or a nail in the tire. Also, I requested a re-calibration be done on the tires. Although I did not hear back from the service advisor for an update status. Several hours later I received a voicemail stating my car service was completed and ready for pick up. Additionally, I noticed the "new psi levels" was not included in the maintenance summary of completion. Four days later on 09/09/2025, the psi tire warning light came on again. Not wanting to take further safety risk, my car was taken to the nearest tire shop . The technician at this particular tire shop found a nail in the left rear tire. The same tire I informed the Honda service advisors I was concerned about because of the low psi reading of 22. As a result of this resent occurrence, and due to a potential greater risk of driving /road safety issue which could have lead to a much more serious road incident. I remain disappointed and unfortunately have lost some trust in the Competency of Elk Grove Honda Technicians. The sales manager (I believe his name was Sam Over) came across as rude and dismissive, and another sales manager--possibly named Jerry--was equally unprofessional. Elk Grove Honda service has gone bad. This is no longer the Honda service center that I've known before and I trust with my car. They seem to care more about revenue than the quality service that Honda service centers pride themselves. If you have been with this branch before, you can feel this decline as soon as you enter their facility. The management seems to now care more about revenue than quality service. This is now my third or fourth visit bringing my car in for maintenance. Every time I've come my visit is always so quick, smooth, kind, and helpful. And I do recommend coming as soon as they open and on weekdays because EG can get crazy on Friday's and the weekend! Bee was my service advisor. At 7:30 AM he was as happy as a clam which is super welcoming to customers. I sure appreciated it. Today was the first time I took advantage of their shuttle service too. Extremely convenient and such a great service offered to Honda customers. Carl and Dario were my drivers and they were just as awesome! When I arrived this morning I didn't think my car would be done until after 12. I swear I was like the 10th car in line. Sure enough Bee calls me a little over an hour later saying my car was ready. 2.6 stars seems pretty generous for this place. Stopped by the other day to compare new vs used cars. Initially reached out and spoke with Daniel. Then when I got there, some guy named Faraz (sp?) came up to us. Told him we spoke to Daniel, so Faraz went to get Daniel. I asked some basic questions about a car we're interested in, but Daniel didn't know the answers, so he directed us back to Faraz. First red flag - if you work in sales, shouldn't product knowledge be your main thing? If you're trying to sell cars, it might be in your best interest to at least know basic trims, features, etc. Especially if it's a brand you're supposed to sell. Anyways, Faraz took over, let us test drive, sat us down, tried to get us to fill out the credit app. Nope, not until we agree on numbers. Faraz went to get his 'manager' Minh. We sat there for 20 minutes waiting for 'manager Minh'. 'Manager' Minh finally came out, and said 'no room to negotiate on the vehicle, maybe only $100.' I guess I should have read the Yelp reviews before I wasted my time and gas going down to that dealership, or should I say stealership. Don't worry, they'll 'etch your VIN number on your catalytic converter for $500.' Almost as much value as 'nitrogen' that other dealers can apparently fill your tires with. Don't waste your time here. Red flags all over this place. The car we were looking at had pretty significant damage both to the exterior (paint swirls, scratches, curb rash on rims) and interior (headliner, sunroof), and yet they had the vehicle priced as if it were either brand new, or in pristine condition. When comparing similar vehicles even in 'excellent KBB' condition, they were thousands less than this dealership was asking. But unfortunately, didn't even make it that far. Beware of this Honda dealership. They told me my transmission needed to be replaced and quoted $10,000 for the repair. They reached out to me 3 times to convince me to sell my car and buy a new one, which felt very pushy. I took my car to a local mechanic for a second opinion, and they found nothing wrong with the transmission. Instead, water had gotten into the car and caused the system to glitch, triggering a false transmission error. When I initially brought the car in, I specifically asked them to check whether it could be a system or sensor issue, but that concern was brushed off and they immediately focused on replacing the transmission. After being quoted $10k, I told them I was coming to pick up my car. By the time I arrived, the employee I had been dealing with (Viet Le) had already left. The technician that "looked" at my car was Romero Pulido. Overall, this experience felt misleading and overly sales-driven. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any major repairs here. read more

We were given an estimate to have over $2500 in work done on our 2007 Honda Pilot, as they observed "after market parts" that needed to be "replaced." They recommended a complete replace when all that was needed was a bolt tightened for less than $200. I was there for maintenance and he let me know how much it would cost. I dropped my car off, and less than an hour later, I received the call to pick up my car. Anthony called and let me know what they found on the inspection. When I came back, Anthony saw me looking low key lost lol, and he directed me to the cashier counter. This is NOT my flipping imagination. I own a 2022 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid. And for the 4th time out of nowhere, warning lights take over the dashboard. In the past, I had immediately called Capital City Honda w/each occurrence and was given excuses. I'd turn off the car. Start it - same warnings. Turn off the car again & back on - all is clear. The brake system warning lights lit up my car again today (15k miles) while exiting Highway 99 at EG Blvd so I decided to pull into the EG dealership's service department. They were attentive in immediately walking up to me when I pulled in. I explained the issue. I made sure the attendant saw all of the warning lights. I was told to wait while he found a service advisor (lead?) to come out whom I'd need to talk to. It was 12:45pm. He came back and said it was lunchtime, and ALL ADVISORS were at lunch - seriously - ALL of them at the same time? Put up the "Closed" sign then. I said I had errands to run and could come back but the warning may not reappear after turning the car off (see above - repeat pattern). I was told not to come back if that was the case as they'd need to see the warning lights on even though I was right there showing them to the attendant ??? You say that you are open but the people we're supposed to talk to are ALL at lunch at the same time - and the takeaway is that if I come back minus the warning lights, I'm making all of this up?? I have taken photographs of each occurrence to document and time stamp the matter. I'll email corporate and go from there.
