I wish i could give it zero stars. I purchased a car here in 2019. Maybe they have gotten better since then, I'm not sure. But man, this was 7 years ago and I still get angry thinking about it. I was in my mid/late 20's when I bought my car from them. I have tattoos, piercings, and at the time my hair was either neon green and blue, or hot pink and purple (can't remember which one). Im used to the staring, the pointing, the not so quiet whispers. I'm all too familiar with strangers taking one look at me and deciding that they know the kind of person I am, and the people who worked here were no different. I went to purchase one of their cars. I brought everything they asked me to. I had $4,200 cash for the down payment, copy of my paystubs, and a print out of my bank statement as well. They gave me my bank statement back, and they said they still needed additional income verification, and that I needed to bring in the cancelled checks. I told them that there was no way I was going to be able to get them. My mom owns her own business, I work for her. She was out of state caring for her parents who were both 95+ years old, one of which had both Alzheimer's and dementia. There was just no way she would have been able to take the time to do that. They wouldn't budge on it, so i said that's fine, and I left. A day or two after that, I got an email from them telling me that they cleared it with the bank, and to go ahead and come in and purchase the car. I emailed back and said "so the cancelled checks are no longer necessary?" And they said I did not need the cancelled checks, and to come in and make the purchase. So that's what I did. The whole process was uncomfortable. They were rude and demeaning but I went through with the purchase anyways. There was another couple in there purchasing a different Mercedes. He said he didn't like the wheel center caps on the car he was purchasing, and that he wanted ones from a different Mercedes out there. They happily obliged. When I was leaving, I noticed the car I just purchased didn't even have mats (can't believe I didn't notice during the test drive). When I said something to one of the workers, he just replied "buy some on Amazon" and walked back inside. A day or two later I received an email from Elegant Auto. The email requested that I send them cancelled checks. Before I went back to purchase the car, I made it a point to make sure the checks weren't needed, and they said they weren't. That is the only reason I made the purchase. They then insinuated that my proof of income was fake (paystubs and bank statements), and then straight up accused me of lying about my employment just because I work for my mother. They said I had two options. I could send them the cancelled checks, or I could return the car by the end of the day. I told them, like I had said from the get go, I couldn't get them the cancelled checks, and I had also just gone out of town, so I couldn't return it by end of day even if I wanted to. I asked them why my bank statements weren't enough, and they just kept saying that the bank needed the cancelled checks and if I couldn't bring the car back that day, they were going to send someone out to repo it. They said if I'm not lying about my employment then getting the cancelled checks shouldn't be an issue. I called the bank to see what I could do, and they told me that they had no idea why Elegant Auto had lied and said that the bank no longer needed the checks. They also said that my bank statement, even without the deposits, would be fine as long as it shows a sufficient amount deposited into my account monthly. After sending her my bank statement, she said I made way more than enough, and she approved my loan. She said that they either needed the checks OR the bank statements, and she had no idea why the dealership refused to take my bank statements and kept insisting only on the cancelled checks. They were rude, judgmental, told me I was lying about my income and my employment just because I work for my mother's company, they had me come purchase a vehicle under false pretenses, and then a day later threatened to send someone to repo the vehicle from me if I didn't send them documents that they said specifically ensured me that they didn't need, and that I repeatedly said I didn't have! And wouldn't accept my bank statements as proof of income, demanding only the cancelled checks, even though BOTH were accepted forms of proof of income as long as they showed that I had enough money coming in! It felt like they thought that if I couldn't come up with the checks, then that would prove that they were right and that I was lying. I know this review is all over the place. I really wish I wrote this when everything happened and it was fresh on my mind. I'm pretty sure that I have left out quite a few things. And like I said, this was in 2019. 1 Star I had a very frustrating experience at Elegant Auto Body. I went in genuinely interested in purchasing a car and planned to finance through my own bank. The woman at the front desk was polite and seemed to be doing her job professionally, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, a man (who appeared to be in a position of authority) involved himself in the conversation and immediately made things difficult. He was dismissive and made it clear that they were only interested in either a cash deal or financing directly through them. There was no willingness to work with my bank or even have a respectful discussion about it. As a buyer, it felt uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially when I was ready and willing to move forward. Let me start by saying I wanted to give them a chance. I read all of these negative reviews in depth, including Lucy's replies. I reached out on Monday regarding a really cool, rare car they had for sale. A C63 AMG W204 with just 47k miles. Total unicorn. I received an automated reply that said "Good choice on the . It is a meticulously well maintained example of a ." As in the bot broke and just put periods where the name of the car was supposed to be. Made me laugh and an immediate red flag but I thought ah what ever. I eventually received a text from a salesman named "Sam." Sam did not disclose this, but Sam was an AI. Sam was an AI whose messages I ran through multiple AI detectors that all came back between 97 and 100% likelihood of being AI. Sam was an AI that when I asked if it was an AI, somebody took over and said "we do use AI but you're talking to a real person!" They later told me they're a small business that doesn't use AI. Immediately followed by a text about how of course they use AI, just like any business. I believe this was their AI getting confused. Anyway Sam, an extremely kind salesman who assured me that the car I was buying was meticulously maintained, and a collector owned vehicle, unfortunately told me that after talking with his manager they couldn't reduce the price. This was of course due to it being an incredibly rare, and great condition example! I told Sam I understood and he said that I was awesome for understanding! Wow! So nice!!! He told me I was wise for buying this car. We love Sam!!! I told Sam that I was all in on the car as long as the PPI came back clean, and that they could start getting any paperwork ready for me because as soon as a mechanic tells me it's a solid car, I'm buying it. I scheduled a PPI for Thursday with a local AMG mechanic named Nico at Midtown Autoworks. I offered to put down a deposit and he said "let's just see if they even show up..." He knew, I knew, but I wanted the car. On Wednesday, the day before the PPI, they call Nico and say something along the lines of "we can only give you the car for an hour." Any PPI takes 4 hours. Any mechanic knows this. They know this. Thursday morning! Time for the PPI! Anyway they call me, tell me the car's been sold and to cancel my PPI. No apology for wasting my time, nothing. Best case scenario: Their salesmen are so eloquent that modern day AI detectors all think they're AI, and they sold the car that I had made clear I was all in on paying cash for and was doing the legwork for nearly a week to get inspected etc. They wasted a ton of my time and although I can appreciate that business is business: what a shitty fucking way to do business. Worst case scenario: They use AI that blatantly lies to you about the condition of the car in place of real salesmen (that often do the same so what ever) and were trying to duck this PPI in any way possible because they knew something was wrong with the car. When they couldn't bullshit their way out of having it done properly ("we can only give you the car for an hour"), they no showed the PPI, canceled the sale, and took down the listing. They wasted almost a week of my time based on lies and weird business. My gut tells me this isn't entirely what happened, and it's more likely a mix of both. My daughter bought a 2019 Ford Expedition Max from this dealership the middle of June. Two weeks after she bought it, the charge air cooler tube had a leak, the engine was running rough and the check engine light was on. She had to have it towed to a Ford dealership. She had them do a thorough inspection while it was there and this is what was found. The lower radiator hose was leaking, the engine codes were caused by bad VCT sensors which had caused damage to the timing chain and gear. When the engine was opened up it was found that after-market parts had been installed incorrectly and the timing cover was not bolted but was RTV'd on. The rear pinion seal was leaking oil and both front struts were leaking fluid. The total cost of repairs was over $10,000. My daughter and her husband are hardworking people. It was difficult for them to purchase what they thought would be a dependable vehicle for their family, let alone having to pay for major repairs. I will never purchase a vehicle from this dealership again and recommend that nobody else does. They cheat people out of their had earned money and don't give a damn. read more

I also just want to add that if you're reading these reviews, please pay attention to the fact that the employees who work here highly prioritize trying to discredit unhappy customers' reviews and statements. There are enough 1-star reviews that it all speaks for itself. But after my experience, I certainly will not be told on Yelp what I PERSONALLY was thinking. Thanks for your unnecessary response though. I wish there were a way for me to reply to the employee who tries to completely negate my review and tell me what I was worried about. I'm a customer, and if I'm thinking my own thoughts quietly in my head and then now sharing what I was thinking on this review, ONLY because they sold me a car that was in bad shape, and they don't even care to know what is wrong with it. I hate to say this because I had no issues with Lucy, but it is so incredibly tacky as business owners to come back commenting and trying to tell me what I was thinking. Saying that I was worried about minor cosmetic issues, which is the absolute bare minimum that I expressed to her. I was worried about the oil level, the fact that there was black mold under the driver seat (found within two minutes by a mechanic I took it to), and after purchasing, the fact that white smoke started coming out of the exhaust when I drove it off the lot after they put oil in it upon my request. The big issues with the car were not detectable in a general mechanic car inspection, which is why I thought it was so important for them to be aware of the issues. My whole review was about the fact that this dealership does not care at all about what is wrong with the car, and they took it back from me with zero hesitation. This is either because they already knew what was wrong with the car before they sold it to me, or they genuinely do not care what the issue is, and they are going to resell it to someone else who thinks the car is in good condition and that this is a great deal. My suggestion to this business is that they work a little harder on improving the quality of the cars they are selling, and maybe a little less on trying to dance around the actual issues written in the reviews on Yelp. And if they can't do that, at least stop telling customers what amazing deals they have. Yes, I got the car for a good deal, which is why I bought it, but the colossal issues it has made it a horrible deal. They told me the car was in incredible shape. My problem was with the overall effort put into the car, claiming that it was clean, and the car passed their inspection, and very graciously having their mechanics put horrible quality oil in the car, which most likely damaged it more. I'm really glad that she also mentioned how gross the inside of the car was. They tried to argue with me and tell me that they had detailed this car. But there was a layer of soot on the inside of the car. They did not detail the ceiling, which was important because the previous owner was a heavy smoker. They did not even wipe down the interior like I asked because that's all I wanted and was trying to be nice. I fully have a text from them telling me that the car was spotless after just asking them to wipe it down. So yes, I had to keep wiping down the interior. Good price, fair deal, quick processing of all the paperwork and now I have a car that is safe to drive, is registered, and all is done! I'll get another 100,000 miles and 10 years from this one I highly recommend their processing, clarity of explanations on options with warranty, and even the right to return paperwork (which I passed on). Ok so yesterday they said I have 2 days to bring it back and get my down payment back I came back this morning to just get my money back and he said he was not able to reimburse it because they are is a 500 dollar re -stocking fee and a $250 Mike said that the re- stocking fee even though is a California Law they don't charge it if we bring it back within 2 days and plus he never said that we where paying $250 for some warranty that will allow us to bring it back within those 2 days! I really feel sad because it took me long hours of work and staying away from home and my kids to be able to save 3,000 dollars for my down payment and now they're coming with all this fees Mike never mentioned how sad. They were the only place I had been to that had their trucks in the fair market range and not outrageously overpriced liked the others I had been too. Sean was very helpful in helping me qualify for the truck and finding one that fit my budget. My only wishes were that they would have made sure the truck was washed when I let them know I was on my way to buy the truck as it was very dirty. Also, my truck did not come with a spare key, so I wished they had made a spare key for the truck. Especially since the only key given to me had a bad battery and the lock button on it is broken. Stumbled across this dealership in search for another dealership today. I came across a vehicle I really liked, asked to see the interior, it was dirt cheap and CLEAN. So I asked to test drive. I was immediately asked how I planned on purchasing, I said financing because it's in my best interest to not disclose I have the exact sticker amount they are asking for. But the sales man refused to let me test drive if I didn't fill out a credit application for approval. I've never heard of this tactic to sell a car, I didn't even know if the car turned on or even drove for that matter. So why would I do the financing privy to driving the car? Made no sense. With the level of or lack of interest they had in me as a potential customer was completely out the window. Very poor service. I have to say that I have purchased many vehicles in my adult life but this was one of the easiest I have ever experienced. I inquired on line about a Mercedes Benz in stock, James followed up very quickly and answered all my questions with absolutely NO pressure. I needed to purchase a premium car for my work and they had exactly what I wanted. Due to a job loss, I had been out of work for an extended period of time. This made it necessary to file bankruptcy in early 2017. I had since become successfully employed and the need for an upgraded vehicle was required. James worked with me to get a very acceptable financing solution that helped get the car. Bought a vehicle here. Issues from jump. They said the rust was just "surface rust". Incorrect. They said they'd give a little money back if I signed what looked exactly like a NDA. I have had to completely replace the WHOLE suspension, control arms, all of it and more due to rust issues. Warranty didn't cover any of that and I am 5k out of pocket. They give you two days to return the vehicle but also make you pay a restock fee. They will also show you online "similar vehicles priced about the same" but those vehicles probably don't have the issues that come with it. Do yourself a favor and go to all of the other Auto Sales sites. read more

I bought a 2016 Ford Fusion I put 3700$ down and the very next day I couldn't get it out of neutral when it said it was in park I looked under my hood, and the gearshift is not even connected to my transmission. I would not recommend buying cars from this dealership at all they are not helpful I called to get a rental car and he told me he could not help me because they have no cars there for me to rent. They where too eager to sell the car so I should have taken that as a sign I give this auto dealership negative stars, and I would not ever deal with them ever again in the future. read more

We all worry about "used car salesman" and the awful characters out there. Shawn was quick, honest and efficient (yes, all 3). They had on their lot a 2006 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited with low mileage, I have been searching for awhile and with COVID, decided to take a look. Jeep's are easy to work on and parts had been replaced, but the car was not wrecked and it was straight. Everything runs solid. It was advertised for the price I bought it for; when I called to confirm it was still on lot we agreed the price was fair. I traded in my old car and got a slightly lower price than hoped for, but they found me way better than expected financing rates (great credit and 48 months putting a lot down plus the trade in = 2.25%). Definitely a good spot to go. Reasons for 4 Stars: polite and non-pushy staff (Dimitri was amazing), good selection of nice cars, reasonable offers on trade-ins, felt comfortable buying a car here or not buying and just looking. Reasons for NOT Getting 5 Stars: do not gas or wash the car after buying(big let down), they have a limited staff and once they get busy, get ready to wait(took nearly 3 hours and I came in a second time knowing what I was getting). Overall . I would recommend people go here (early) and speak with Dimitri or Mike, both nice guys. I had to keep checking on Things(loans, payments, banks, etc.), but not their fault. read more

We are writing to confirm the events regarding our purchase and discussions after purchase of the 2008 Subaru from Elegant Auto Sales and to express the dissatisfaction with Elegant's handling of the situation. We purchased the Subaru on Monday and advised that we would be having the pre purchase inspection done upon our return home the next day. It was discovered at the inspection that there was a leaky head gasket (which would cost $4,500 because of the difficulty of this repair). We did buy the return insurance but like the vehicle and wanted to keep. We forwarded the PPI report and contacted Elegant Auto Sales and asked if Elegant reimburse one-half or some amount to show a sign of good faith. Sean returned our call, was willing to listen and said maybe could offer some reimbursement. Yesterday we received a call from Mike the Manager saying in no way, shape or form would Elegant give any reimbursement to us in addition to being rude and condescending and telling us to bring back the car (which would cost a stocking fee). Not a very good way to handle a business. Whatever happened to being kind and helpful during these Covid times? We are bigger better people than Elegant and have decided to keep the car. read more

Bought a Mercedes 2010 e350 turns out it was in a flood they spent a bunch of money detailing the car but once you take off the engine covers it's very obvious it was in a flood plus the issues I'm having with the car is because of it being underwater (electrical issues) plus the mud that's caked on the valve covers and intake it's a big scam that's going on now with flooded cars so anyways you are warned I will be getting lawyers involved which sucks I'm sure I won't get anything back but I gotta try read more

Buyer Beware! Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience with Elegant Auto Sales. Although I was assured that the &18K truck I bought from them had no issues, it in fact did have issues. And similar to other reviewers, I was pressured to hurry up and complete the deal because others supposedly wanted the truck. After taking it to BIG O Tires because it was not riding well, I was advised by Big O that the rear brakes were only at 3 mm and needed replacing and that the windshield reservoir was cracked and needed replacing. During negotiations, I was also advised by Sean that the truck came with 2 sets of keys but after the sale was complete and I asked for the second set of keys I was told that he never said that and there was only one set of keys. As a licensed clinical therapist, and as a human being, I value and strive for honesty and integrity in my interactions and experienced neither from Elegant Auto Sales. I wrote the company and asked them forwhat I thought was a fair compromise which is that we split the costs ( their half would have been about $500) and I was told that they would give me $100 ( one hundred) but only if I signed a confidentiality agreement and Agreed not disclose anything about this transaction to the public. I refused the money and and am posting this so hopefully can save some others by getting this information out there. read more

Sent an application weeks ago for a car, left messages often with the secretary, and emails to the sales team, but no call backs. Finally we get a salesman on the phone, Shawn, whom is absolutely out of this world rude to my spouse the moment they started talking; making claims and excuses that she never left messages, that she turned in her application arrived only a week ago, and stonewalling her into a car which said she already didn't want. If you get Shawn when you call, call later or another time. If you can't get a different salesman then go elsewhere. read more
