Sunday 06.07.2026 "My review and feedback will remain Neutral." Working with Daryl. Started logistics for drop-off. Dropped off my portable Hard-drive on April 24th 2026. Received word that my Hard-drive is fixed on June 5th 2026, ready for pick up. "41 Days wait time total" Total cost $1200. Negotiated to market value $975 (New Heads Required for Swap) Negotiated discount for missed delivery project. Passed 30 days. Total $825 *Supposed miscommunication on deadline proposed. Plain and simple 1) If you are on a deadline and you have an urgent need, I do not recommend A1 Computers. 2) If you have no deadline or preference of completion. I would consider A1 Computers. If you choose A1 computers for repairs. Note: I recommend having a contract generated. Where it states estimated completion time and price with clause. Good to have a binding agreement, not working with verbal or text messages as a form of agreement. Communication could have been better between Daryl and I. Receiving some type of weekly status feedback would of been nice, assuring my Hard-drive is being worked on. I initiated most of the conversation requesting status. I feel, as a customer the business should always give some type of status. Long Story Short : My Hard-drive was repaired and all data has been recovered. I am very pleased and grateful. These are my priceless memories we are talking about. Can't put a price tag on memories. Its fixed which is all that mattered. Keep in mind, Daryl does not perform the repairs himself. He receives and assigns the repairs to his team or business partners. Situation was fair and neutral. It will get done but probably won't recieve your fixed item on the timeline you are expecting. I took my custom-built PC to A1 for a very specific hardware issue: latency issues with both wired and wireless mice and controllers across all USB ports. I clearly described in my project request and in person everything I had already tried including ruling out the mice/controllers themselves, testing all USB ports, ruling out Bluetooth, uninstalling other potentially problematic software, and reinstalling Windows. Despite this, I was charged $160 for what turned out to be a basic disk cleanup and virus scan, with no actual investigation into the problem I came in for. I was assured the issue was resolved, but when I got the PC home, the latency issue was exactly as bad as it had been before dropping it off. When I followed up, I was told the issue was Bluetooth-related (it isn't -- this happens wired mice), then blamed for reinstalling Windows. No attempt was made to properly test input latency. I saw no proof of viruses beyond tracking cookies, and no latency testing was ever shown. If the problem had been fixed, I would've considered the $160 a loss. But this was dismissive, overpriced, and ultimately unhelpful. I regret trusting this service and would not recommend it to anyone needing real troubleshooting. UPDATE 7/13: I originally hired Daryl hoping to save time and energy, but after my frustrating experience, I ended up replacing the motherboard myself. That resolved the issue, and no changes to Bluetooth adapters or peripherals were needed. Since then, I've also noticed Daryl referring to me in the third person either by name or as "your partner." For the record, there was no partner involved. He only ever dealt with me. It's very telling that he assumes a man must be behind this. Based on my experience, I would advise against using him for any serious computer repair. read more

Service went well. The PC was inspected to see that there is a slight noise from the cooling fans. The back tower fan was replaced. The computer was optimized with paging files with the memory & hard drive space. The computer was defragmented/organized data as well.
