The guy here was really patient with me. I know nothing about cars nor do I really care. (I don't agree with spending thousands of dollars on cars, but it is what it is, people have personal preferences) I like how fixed cars look but I don't really agree with how much it costs to do it. I bought my boyfriend a Honda Civic si 2015 coupe not too long ago, couple of months ago. First thing he wanted to do was "drop" it. Make it go lower. I searched around and I was expecting to pay $1,000 (car parts are a lot more expensive for newer cars) I didn't want to order online and wait for my $1,000 purchase to come in the mail. So I told the guy here if there's anything that I can get the same day. He too his time looking in his computer for a suspension kit that I can get the same day. He offered D2 suspension coil over kit for $850. Not bad. With tax it was about $924. A little lower then what I expected to pay. Great. He had me come back a few hours later when it arrived. I chilled at Cerritos mall to wait. When I came back to get my parts he offered to help me put it inside my car. What a gentleman. I'd also like to mention that I brought my daughter with me and he was nice to her also, letting her have as much lollipops as she wanted. Lol it makes me happy to see people treat my daughter well also, when I'm shopping. Overall, my experience was great. Good / trustworthy man & good business. I ordered a clutch online and didn't know I had to have a different flywheel to use with that clutch. It should be noted on the website that a different flywheel is required instead of saying it fits on the car. Don't say that the transmission works with a different transmission from another car. I put in my cars info to look for parts that fit my specific car. I had a back and forth between myself and the owner but I just decided to take a loss on my part for not doing more research on my own. I decided to give A1 a second try. I went in and ordered an aluminum radiator. Paid full price and was told it would come in between 4-5 business days. I waited 10 days before calling A1 to ask what's the update. I was told that the supplier didn't make an aluminum radiator for my car. So why wait until I call to tell me that? If the supplier didn't make one for my car, why make me pay and give me an ETA on delivery? Why make the customer wait to call for an update? I ended up asking for a refund to his reluctance. Other people have had better experiences with A1 and kudos to them. I won't be shopping here for the foreseeable future. read more

The guy asked me what car I told him 2005 RSX, he gave me the prices, everything was good. Next morning, i gave my mechanic enough to buy the parts for me, but when he gets there the guy thought I said CRX and gave my mech a whole new set of prices. (There isn't even a 2005 CRX!) I decide to buy it anyways so my mech and bf head there again later that day to buy the parts. They confirmed the prices again and the guy goes to the backroom computer to process the transaction, but comes back saying he gave the wrong prices AGAIN and the prices are now this (obviously even higher).. I don't know if this guy is shady or just plain stupid, but i'll never buy from this place as long as he's still working there. As for the person who says people who just signed up for yelp to write one bad review aren't creditable. Why wouldn't we be? Horrible. Every experience I ever had in this store was horrible. As a teenager, this was the only spot I went to for parts, and every time they would screw me over in some way. Either an asshole ignoring you or being a smart ass, or giving me completely the wrong parts. There was a time where I waited weeks for an order, and they ended up giving me a part that didn't match my car. They didn't except a refund until I managed to finally get them outside to see that the part wasn't a match. Don't go here if you love your car. Your better off buying parts on ebay. A lot of the stuff they sell here are ordered on a website anyways. They take your order, give you a random date for you to pick up, then you come home realizing that they just ordered the part from a website and sold it to you for more. Horrible service. The stuff comes in about a day or two and if it doesnt, the guy who usually runs the place helps you out and calls you up a day before the expected date of arrival. He's pretty cool and chill about things and will strike a convo with you now and then. But just know that sometimes he's busy on phone. That maybe due to more Phone orders then actual store walk ins. Alright, so where do I begin with this store.. the prices are the best out there. I'm more then sure no one can beat his pricing, I tried countless times lol. He gives really good deals, but don't waste your time lowballing & lying. He tries to get all his parts in as soon as possible. People are just really impatient and don't know how the car game works. You want parts from japan, you expect it to arrive the next day? Not gonna happen lol. Lots of manufactors don't make parts right then and there, there can be some complications. We make mistakes we're human. As to the people below, don't know what there problem is, I've bought a bunch of HIDs for my friends & family, if I ever had a problem I just go back and he fixes it. Obviously these people are mad, signed up for yelp, wrote one bad review, not very creditable people. I understand the frustration, cus I've written bad reviews in the past but this owner gets his work done. To the other people below, he checks his computer to know his pricing. No one knows every pricing in the world off the back of there hand, give him a break. It's only one main guy working! No store can stock every single item that the universe wants so of course he has to order it. People flake out, so you leave a deposit to prevent that. It's business, no store will order a part to a stranger knowing that he might flake out and then get left with product to sit around. All I'm saying is, I work on cars a lot, and I get all my parts from A1 and I know I'm already getting a good deal so I don't bother haggling. My buddy ordered an off brand camber kit from these guys and they ordered him the wrong one the first time so they agreed to reorder the correct one. Cool. The correct one came in and we brought it to a shop to get it installed. Little did we know, after the shop has already removed and disassembled the OEM camber arms, it was missing the nuts to secure the camber arms to the car. We contacted the shop to see if they might have forgotten to give it to my friend but they said its not suppose to come with the nuts. That you are suppose to reuse the OEM nuts. We explained to them that there is no way to use to OEM nuts because it is welded into the OEM camber arms. We showed them other camber kits online for the same car and it all comes with the nuts.(SPC,Jpower, Megan's including the very camber kit they sold my friend), but they still keep insisting that it should not come with the nuts. They also suggested to find nuts laying around and just use them? After much phone debate, my friend decided to just pay the shop for the labor to put everything back together just to be able to drive back here to talk to them in person. He tried to return the camber kit(because no one wants to pay full price for an item with missing parts), but they did not accept it. I mean they sold him an item with missing parts and tried to get away with it by saying it doesn't come with the nuts(which it clearly does) That is pretty shady business IMO. I would understand if the camber kit was used and the price is reasonable, but it wasn't. read more

Went in, and went out in a span of 5 minutes. First off, I wasn't greeted professionally. By that, I mean there was no form of business etiquette whatsoever. I went in and the guy on the computer did not get up to shake my hand or even say hello. There was no rapport built with me, the potential customer. I actually felt I was being glared at. I inquired about HID's they had on display. When I gave them the make and model of my car, they said that they could have it to me in 3 days. The funny thing is, I saw the perfect fitment HID kit in their display box. Now, I'm not a business owner or anything, but not knowing your own inventory says a lot. From the moment I came in to the moment I left, they never tried to gain my respect as a customer. Needless to say I will never go to that store again, even if IT IS just a few blocks from where I live. read more

I came into the store looking to purchase some Rota wheels with tires. Jason (store owner) looked up the part and ordered it and I paid him in full cash. Next thing you know he texts me and tells me that he cant get the rims I want and ask for an alternative. I told him how long would I have to wait and he tells me about a week so I agree to wait. After about 2 weeks and a half, I get no calls or text on the status. I decided to text him on the following Monday and he texts me, "Let me try to find out"... Okay, it seems as though he could care less about the update of these wheels and finally decided to check on it when I finally texted him. He never replied back after that so I decided to go to the shop. When I get there, hes sitting down chillin just talking to another employee.. I asked him if the wheels are going to come in and he goes on his computer and AIMs the supplier and tells me, "Oh yes on Thursday" After that I was fed up because he only asked his suppliers about it when I got to the shop instead of making an effort to check the week or nights before. I asked him if he could just give me back my money and he did. My problem isnt about waiting for the parts to come in but the lack of effort Jason makes to try and make his customers happy. I felt that he made no effort to call his suppliers and at least let me know if its going to come in this week or next week. If he would have made an effort to at least inform me, I would have felt much better about doing business with them. I spent almost $800 at his shop and would have continued to do business if he would have been more professional. When I told him this, he tells me "I'm not going to call my suppliers and bother them every day." WOW After I went to PasswordJDM headquarters and ordered it straight from Leo. Such a cool guy with professional service compared to A1 Motorsports. I will spend a little more money if it meant that I will get my wheels within a reasonable time frame. And Jason if you are reading this, you really need to work on your professionalism in the shop. It looks like you sit around all day doing nothing when you could be making phone calls to your customers and suppliers about the updates of the products. Make an EFFORT! Inform your customers on how long it will take. Dont wait for them to call you! Dont beat around the bush... read more

This place is not bad. It's great considering it's the only physical car mod/tuning location around my area that hasn't gone out of business. The dude at the store knows what he's talking about and is quick to give you info on what's gonna work and answer your questions. This is, of course, depending that you have at least a little bit of sense of what you're looking for. I came across this place when I bought a wink mirror for $25, when everywhere else online was asking about $40 (ebay, especially). Small item, but the fact that i was in and out in less than 10 minutes with what I wanted just felt awesome. I had an issue with some springs i ordered from these guys... mainly because i was anxious and jonesing cause it took a few days to deliver. since then i've also ordered some wheels. They weren't in stock but he said "i can have them for you in maybe 30 minutes"... WTF. it really took an hour, but that's still amazing. This guy does what he can, you just have to work with him. If there are any issues, he'll try his best to get everything squared away. I plan to keep this spot on my list of options for shopping. read more

First off I was one of the first customers for this shop and even before it was open I still purchased parts for my cars and customers cars with no issues. every part I have ever got from here was price matched or beaten ! EVERY TIME! Also I have purchased parts for JDM cars, USDM cars and even EDM cars which I specialize in now. Heck they are even able to get rare European stuff too which they don't even specialize in. I have sent countless customers here with no issues what so ever and they have even become regulars. The parts come in when they say unless there is a issue at the manufacturers side then they at least call, text, or even email me with an update to let me know. Jason is a stand up guy and knows his parts and has been in this industry for years! He will get you the part you want for sure. what ever your price range he can work with you and get you the items you need. That is customer service at its finest if I ever seen it. Would I continue to do business with A1? Absolutely! the store may be small but don't let that fool you.
