They said they would rotate my tires for free, which is great, however they put it on my invoice but when I inspected my tires, I discovered that they never rotated the tires. I was also charged a $10 fee for resetting the computer. Edit: I just discovered that they refilled my coolant for free, a $20-$45 savings. Plus one star back. read more

I had my oil changed here over a year ago and it was fine. I went back 1 month ago and my car was making a scary sound the moment I left. I live 25 miles away so took it to my mechanic in LA and found out they didn't screw my skid plate back on completely so it's been loose and banging around. I was given a specific price for an oil change for my Mercedes Sprinter over the phone, but when I arrived the next day, the front desk staff changed the price and refused to budge. Wendy is great. I needed new tires and was looking for a specific brand. Wendy explained how different tires services give divergent prices. And one should be aware of the TIN (the year the tire was made) which accounts how nonreputable outlets can sell at a lower price, because they sell older stock. PepBoys like Costco get theirs from the same vendor. Wendy does not do "hard sell" techniques but explains clearly what I needed and what I don't. I also notice she has a pleasant and friendly rapport with customers. I asked how she seems to master her craft. And she said she's been here for 20 years. Look for Wendy. The others are also great, like the mechanic Casper. He explained the service he was going to do. I felt assured that he was doing a great job. Gio who took over Wendy during her break is as knowledgeable and trustworthy. Wow things have improved in my opinion I made a reservation online and came in and though it took longer than I expected I still got my car in a much more reasonable time than other times I've been there. Service was good they did a inspection as well...Oil change with $20 coupon when i did the Online appointment automatically applied. tire rotation and air check...and since I was there I got the air filter replaced as well. Told me the price was a little over $40 but there was a 25% coupon online making the oil change a little over $30. Downloaded the coupon, made an appointment online and headed over. They didn't have my appointment but said they would work me in. But now the cost was $50 with the coupon lowering the price to over $40 and I needed 7 quarts of oil. SHADY PEOPLE! Do NOT go to this location. They will rip you off to make a commission. They told me I had to get my brake pads replaced. The worst part is that the dude told me that every time the brake pads get replaced, the rotors will also have to be replaced. That's BS. They wanted to charge me $1300. I took it to the dealership that I usually go to for a second opinion and they told me that the brakes and rotors are still in good condition. Pep Boys also told me that the fluids were low, but I just recently had them topped off. From now on, I will drive farther to my trusted dealership than drive a few miles to this pep boys location. Complete incompetence. This place used to be decent but in just under a year it's gone to disarray. New manager Wendy has definitely made things worse for both employees and customers. I used to come once a month for oil changes since I was driving 5k+ miles a month. All me mechanics here are novice at best except two. Would no longer trust them to do any major service, at least at this location. They fail to honor warranties on year and a half product when it's 3 years, could lead to potential civil litigation/ class action if they keep doing this (based on reviews I'm not the only one) Would only recommend this place if you want a last minute oil change. That's it, no other fluids. Proceed with caution if coming here for anything beside a oil change, take advantage of coupons for the service and make sure they apply it. My last visit it was not applied and they failed to refund me even after I mentioned discount 4 times, blamed it on computer issues, which seem to happen often with their system. read more

I came here because I needed an alignment on my truck. The Manager that helped me told me that I needed new tires. I said ok I'll keep that in mind but all I want is an alignment for now. Got the alignment and now my car pulls to the right. So 2 days later I came back to the Pep Boys and the service advisor tells me that he has to keep my car all day to correct problem. I told him that I can't leave my car all day. He then calls the Manager and the Manager said that the alignment could be bad because I need new tires. This is what the service advisor told me, I did not speak directly to the Manager because the service advisor told me that the Manager was out to lunch. So I appreciate that the Manager answered, but my alignment is bad because they did a bad job. Not because I need new tires. It was better before they touched my truck. I even suggested putting new tires on if he could guarantee that after the new tires the truck would drive straight, he said he could not guarantee that. Good customer service would have been to take my vehicle right away and fix it because you Pep Boys did a shit job. But no they told me leave the Vehicle all day. So I asked for my money back because I have a 90 day warranty. They said they don't give money back. So I will go and pay again to get it done correctly. Lessons leaned. 1. Pep Boys warrenty is a lie 2. Pep Boys can't even do an alignment or they lie to get you to purchase more things. 3. I will never shop at Pep Boys again 4. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. This place is so unprofessional. My husband was involved in a near death car accident in one of their rental vehicles with hertz. Right when we walked in the black lady with the grey dreads immediately said "why is there so many people in here" with an attitude without even greeting us first or asking how we were doing and proceeded to tell us to sign in and wait outside without even asking what we needed. No respect at all. Poor customer service!!! We did not appreciate that at all. I see why this place has so many bad reviews. People are just so miserable I can't believe it. Very Bad Experience At Pep Boys. Buyers Beware!!! Here are my problems with Pep Boys POOR, SLOPPY WORK Examples- 1) I had tires replaced several years ago. They did not fasten the spare correctly on the bottom of the vehicle where it is stored. It was actually very dangerous as the spare was dangling, could have fallen off and damage my vehicle/other vehicles, cause an accident, or even injure/kill someone. 2) I had my brakes replaced and rotors resurfaced here . When braking, the car would shake from side to side. They did not resurface the rotors correctly. 3) They left grease smudges on the inside of the vehicle, by the door handle and on the inside of the door. 4) They stripped a lug nut during tire replacement (see photograph). I was watching them when it happened. This occurred because they were so short staffed, a salesman was putting on the tires. He was not qualified to do so and should not be working on the vehicles. POOR TIME ESTIMATION 1) I have come before for oil change and tire rotation WITH an appointment. It took over 3 hours. 2) I came for tire replacement and alignment, again WITH APPOINTMENT. Came at 12:00pm, they told me it would take 3 hours. They finished at 9:30 pm.... AND THEY DIDN'T DO ALIGNMENT. So basically it took 9.5 hours to change tires (and stripped the lug nut in the process). POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE They would have different stories or excuses of why this was occurring in their store, but depending on who you talk to in the store, they would have a different story to tell. JUST TELL THE TRUTH. Never, ever going back. I highly advise you to avoid this amateur circus at all costs!!!! read more
