Alexi and Alfred were great to work with. They presented professionally and met all the expectations that they set, and followed up very nicely. We are not up to date on all the features and options, which Alexi presented so we had lots of choices. So glad to have found them on Craigslist, they even traveled to install in our new home in Grass Valley, Ca. When we first arrived in Grass Valley I did not even think to ask them to travel and after trying every resource I could to find someone to program our universal remote that requires a computer there was no one:( from Reno to Sacramento. I called 20 minutes later and he said he's 10 minutes away. Well, how do I start? 6 years ago, I hired a large A/V company with a long time presence in the SF Peninsula to custom wire my home/business with the very best TV/ speakers throughout etc. They really screwed up and charged a fortune. So I ended up getting another small one man show fellow from Menlo Park to sort it all out and after charging me $95 an hour for puttering around, for HOURS, the wiring looked like spaghetti, although most of it worked was quite unsightly and the man was inebriated some of the time, and often, didn't show up when he was supposed to. This became the norm. Flakey and expensive. I gave up and lived with it. 5 years later, fast forward to 2010. On craigslist of all places I saw AA Custom Audio after my husband wanted HDTV 3D Samsung flat screen wall hung monster TV etc etc. A guy thing. Then came outdoor speakers, and other man cave stuff. I was so skeptical of AA Custom Audio especially off craigslist, but this man, Alexei came out, when he actually said he would, and gave us a written quote including feet of wiring cost, emailed it to us, all very professional, and stuck exactly to the quote even though they went over a couple of hours on install. His "wing man" Alfred, a computer genius, programmed the IFR remote that controls outer space or seems to, and EVERYTHING ACTUALLY WORKS TO PERFECTION FOR A TOTALLY REASONABLE PRICE the first time. When we added a thing called Boxie (don't ask what it is) to our TV, we emailed Alexei and 2 days later, ON TIME, Alfred appeared to install it for us @ $50 per hour which is sooooo reasonable. I love AA Custom Audio and cannot say enough great things about this team of total professionals. In a world of cut throat audio /visual rip off artists today, I guarantee you can trust this competent company to do a job on time and with competency. They even had sheetrock, and installed all wiring in our wall, put sheetrock, painted and it looks like it was there from the start. NO unsightly wires to look at. Our outdoor speakers are nice dark grey rocks so they are not noticeable. read more

Had a very positive interaction with the company. I had two front in-wall, two rear in-wall, and two exterior speakers all wired up to my receiver, and the installation performed was very clean and professional. No extra holes in the walls, very neat and everything worked perfectly. On top of that, one of the speakers I had purchased from eBay did not work properly, and they agreed to come back to swap out the broken speaker for an identical functional speaker they had in stock, and allowed me to just get them a new functional speaker when I completed an exchange for the broken unit. My contractor recommended them for audio cabling/system set-up. They did everything that they said they would, on the schedule they promised and everything works just fine (sounds great). Highly recommend them for top-notch work and they always use very good quality materials. Pricing was a bit painful for us (in light of the cost of the overall remodel) but I don't know if they were reasonable or not since I have nothing to compare them to. They did work with us and suggest some savings/alternatives. We did end up with a great system and would absolutely work with them again. read more

I had the most horrific experience with Comcast that you can imagine but AA patiently worked through all of the missteps with them coming back to our home 6 times to ensure I had HD cable, internet and everything else we needed. I had them rewire my AV system, add some key components to protect my devices and enhance them, installed speakers in the ceiling in 4 rooms (13), put speakers outside, mount a tv in a room and set up/program my remote to run all of the devices. In the first instance I needed minor help with working up some video components. They came out on the same day and fixed what I need within 45 minutes. Upon deciding to upgrade my home TV and audio system, I explored systems with three providers. One was a retailer with prices out in "left field". The other two were installation contractors with closely comparable proposals. I chose AACustom because it was local, Alexei (its principal) is a licensed electrical contractor, and it was evident from my conversations with Alexei that he understood the many variables in assembling a system. Alexei is not a "salesman". No pressure or hype! He is demur and reserved. But he was very accessible, knowledgeable and what he might have lacked in "salesmanship" he made up with diligence and technical understanding. He provided me with options and alternatives of several price ranges. He did not decide what I should have. He offered and explained alternatives. Alexei obtained a TV of the size I contemplated purchasing and brought it to my cabinet-maker to confirm sizing and manner of installation on his own initiative! (He wanted it right!) Every time he said he would be at my home for installation work, he and his crew were on time. His work is clean, neat, organized, and the end product is exactly what I sought. I had a couple of technical problems after installation. Alexei returned to my home promptly (within a day and on consecutive days) each time to address and solve the problems. (The problems turned out to be with the cable service provider's equipment, not Alexei's work. Nevertheless Alexei was gracious and willing to return the several times needed to get the system working properly.) I really could not be more pleased.
