(Could've taken better pictures lol.) AA Poké is another place that I just like a lot. Like Kim Vũ, it's always a safe bet for when you just want to have good food without thinking about it too much. Nothing about it is particularly *special*, perhaps, but it's always on the back of my mind when trying out other poké places. Maybe it's the Fort Wayne prices that I was getting used to. Maybe it's the firm, flavorful fish, the soft, delectable shumai, or the combination of just-sweet-enough tamago, fresh avocado, crunchy masago and wakame (seaweed) salad on the steaming rice bowl. They also have a killer unagidon and one of the best beef bowls (gyudon) that can be found anywhere in America, not just in a poké or casual place. While AA Poké's not gonna make any publications or win any awards, there's just a lot to like about it. It's very simple and straightforward, which reminds me of... Japan. TL;DR Try it. It doesn't need many words to prop it up. One paragraph is all that's needed to say. P.S. Don't get the QQ here lol it's powdered. (QQ is the Taiwanese term for boba / bubble tea btw.)

Fresh! Flavorful!! I really enjoyed the Chipotle of rice bowls and sushi!!! The shop is small, has very little seating and really isn't set up for a 1 hour dining experience. However, it was clean and relaxed. The staff was incredibly helpful with a menu of choices that takes some learning. They were very friendly as well. I had the beef bowl and Boston sushi. The beef bowl had lots of fresh great flavors. The beef and onions were tender. The crab-radish salad is an art...very good! The fresh mango, cucumbers, edamame and tomatoes were delicious!! The sushi was okay. It was fresh and tasty. Not a super quality.

Imagine Subway, but with sushi ingredients, and also a million times better. AA Poke is great, fast, and has lots of options for everyone. I've had it in house, carry out, and delivery and the food has always been up to par. You can get a poke bowl, salad, or make a sushi burrito! They also offer pretty decent bubble teas!

Beef bowl is literally to die for. I'm not even a big sushi guy- I've never cared much for it, though I also don't dislike it. They've got these amazing items available on their menu, like the beef bowl, and they can also just put together a custom sushi bowl, kinda like... Sushi Subway. Plus, the price is pretty fair, usually about $12 for a decent meal. A very good option for lunch or dinner! read more

First time coming here. I read good reviews. The way I have my poke is I prefer to have my rice separately from my fish/toppings. I don't like the sauce being soaked by my rice. I Came up to the counter. Asked if I can have my rice in a separate bowl, the guy gave a bad attitude & started yelling NO! I asked why not. It'll be the same measurements, I know the bowl with fish would be a smaller portion which is fine with me. I asked again thinking maybe he misunderstood my question. He then again started yelling "NO. All one bowl! No separate, no rice by itself" I asked why & he said again "NO. All one bowl! No separate, no rice by itself". We've never been here so we thought let's give this place the benefit of the doubt. Food is usually good but recently service has been disappointing. Ordered online and they were very rude and refused to refund or remake my order when I told them that the online description of product was different than what I received. The customer service ruined my experience. read more

Popped in to check out the menu and vibe of this new lil spot. It was super quiet and clean...almost a sterile feel to it. No ambient music or anything. There are only 2 hot items on the menu which are shrimp sumai and pork gyoza, which are both types of dumplings. I ordered the pork gyoza and it came with a special poke sauce. It was a good value as you receive 6 pcs for $3.95. They are steamed to order. They are good! Medium thinly rolled dough encases a small ball of pork mixed with green onion and ginger. The poke sauce is extremely potent! Its tasty but when i used too much, my eyes began to water and I got that 'brain freeze' feeling. Nonetheless, dumplings were good and cheap. Fort Wayne needed a place like this! It's a small little gem but don't let the location fool you! I got a customized rice bowl with one scoop of spicy tuna and one scoop of marinated tuna! My toppings included onions, corn, seaweed, lettuce, kale, cucumber, cilantro and spicy mayo sauce with a side of ponzu sauce! It was delicious! The total rounded up to $10 overall. I got the poke bowl since I'm not a seaweed fan. They did say that they will be adding rice paper as an option soon. White rice, shrimp, avocado, cream cheese, ginger, tempura crunch, spicy mayo and eel sauce. This is a great option for picky eaters! The service is excellent and it's fast! Can I just state that I am so excited about this place. It's literally the only place in Fort Wayne I have found to have poke!! I'm from Florida and where I'm at we have tons of poke and sushi places to eat at. This place has definitely hit my cravings for poke. They have a great variety of toppings to create your own poke bowl or you can order a poke bowl combination made by the restaurant. Another part I was excited to see was that they had boba! I ordered the coconut bubble tea. The coconut drink itself was okay but the boba is what really made me happy. The boba was correctly cooked. It wasn't too mushy or too hard. They had the right consistency. This is something I have had trouble with in Fort Wayne. Boba here is a hit or miss and I'm glad a restaurant is here to show this city what good boba is. The staff are very kind and patient. My friend and I stood there for a few minutes trying to figure out what we wanted and they waited patiently while we decided. The cashier was kind. I think I surprised him when I got excited to see that they served boba. I'm telling y'all, when I see a boba place here I get super excited because there are very few. Back home I would drink boba at least once a week. Great place. Would definitely recommend to my Fort Wayne residents to try out. read more

Wow this is a great addition to Ft Wayne. We did a test run. We thought late lunch would be Good. We did the online order it was easy to follow and it was good to see all the options. We did it with just the amount that came with it. It was Great every bite was a taste change. Try that crab salad topping. Only thing odd for me is the Wasabi ball. They should make it easier see I dang near ate it all In one bite. But hey Great stuff all the way it had good stuff. Nice place I do hate the right turn not option. read more

I was in Fort Wayne on business from CA, and I was pleasantly surprised to find this place! I actually came here twice within 4 days, so this means 5 stars :) The fish was fresh and their spicy tuna and spicy salmon was yummy too. Good selection of toppings available and their sauce was very good too. You can't go wrong with spicy mayo + poke sauce, but I overheard pretty much all other customers get yumyum sauce, so I might have to try that next time I visit. I had their boba milk tea and lavender boba milk tea,and they were both really nommy - I would have liked more boba in my drink, but that might be something majority might not like. Overall, two thumbs up. I will be back when I'm in Fort Wayne again. read more

Came on their grand opening week. It was about 6:30 pm and we were the only customers. Easy access off coliseum and private parking lot that is shared with a few other business. Walking in there are a few tables for dinning in options and a soda machine with a condiment station. The deli counter had the line up off proteins and mix ins, much like a subway counter. There were several options of protein and veggies as well as sauces. I love that you have a choice of burrito bowl or salad. This night we got s burrito with two proteins and several veggies and sauces. We also got a bowl with two proteins and veggies. Both made with white rice which had a great sticky consistency. The burrito had a nice seaweed wrap that wasn't rolled very tightly and fell apart halfway through eating it. It was fresh and tasted very good with the options we chose. It was big enough that my daughter saved half of it and ate it the next day and she said it was better! I had the bowl with tons of mix ins and the spicy mayo which beware it's spicy and eel sauce. Which tasted amazing I have to admit there was a little to much rice and I wish I would have had more veggies. The protein was plentiful and also tasted very fresh. The bowl was also a large portion and I saved a lot of it and ate it the next day. Not only was it still fresh but it did taste so much better. I got mushrooms and they were very rubbery so I wouldn't get those again. The person making our meals was super considerate when he offered different options to go inside that he thought might compliment the meal. He had great suggestions. The meals are moderately priced but if it's a lunch it is a tad expensive. I would go again because we love sushi and this is a great way to have it. we did a carry out which was awesome. They do have three appetizers to choose from that aren't raw fish but not sure if they are meal size appropriate The building is very sterile looking and In my opinion not very inviting but I do hope it lasts in Fort Wayne. I def recommend going if you like raw fish. read more

The lunch bento box is straight up hits: a California roll, shrimp tempura, vegetable tempura, rice and your choice of teriyaki'd protein (chicken, salmon, beef, shrimp or basa, a type of catfish). I chose salmon, which was cooked perfectly. The salmon was placed on top of the rice, so the rice kind of soaked up the teriyaki sauce and made it nice and delicious. My bento lunch came with a cup of miso soup, and it was so nourishing and briny, like only miso soup can be. So yeah. I didn't taste any of the sushi here at Umi, unless you count a California roll, which I don't. But they have lots of different types of rolls, nigiri and hand rolls. Umi also has a large menu of sake. So large, that I thought I would be remiss to not get sake to go with my lunch. The menu made me do it! So I got the chiku bai Nigori sake, and it was so smooth. Sake is served in a small pitcher with a small ceramic cup. I wasn't sure if the sake pitcher was supposed to be shared, but there was only one cup, and there was only one me, so I went for it. A sake buzz during lunch ... how extravagant. I visited for a late lunch, around 1:30 p.m., and I was the only person in the whole place. I got the full attention of the very nice server, who had 20 pens in her apron ("For when it gets busy and it's only me," she said, because I asked her why she has 20 pens in her apron.) The restaurant is tastefully decorated on the inside.

I had friends come into town from California over the summer and, when we visited Chicago, they introduced me to poke, which I fell in love with. Sadly, the Midwest often is behind the coasts in getting things like this. But low and behold, we now have one much sooner than I ever expected and I am thrilled! Not only do we have a poke place, but it is amazing!!! I've made it a point to get poke bowls every time I travel in the States now, but this is by far the best I've had. I went at 8:30pm on a weeknight and all the food was still stocked and super fresh. Of course, taste was delicious, too! Highly recommend any sushi or fish lovers to check it out. Love, love, love this place! The initial appearance from the outside looks like it's a hole in the wall, but the interior is quite pristine, clean and enjoyable. It never smells fishy or musty. The food is phenomenal and the staff is very quick and efficient with orders and the price is very affordable and the portions are very nice!
