Sliders with Fries
Charissa H.

I haven't been to BJ's Brewhouse in awhile, because during COVID, the food was awful. Everything seems back to normal now. There's daily specials, and we went late on a Monday, so it's half off a large pizza and a few cheap appetizers to select from. BJ's Classic Combo Pizza - $11.50 (only because they ran out of large so we went medium which they call "Shareable") - Pepperoni, Sausage, Mushrooms, Tomatoes - Delicious. It's a good pan pizza, similar to Pizza Hut. 5/5 stars. Sliders with Fries - $7 + $1.50 for fries - Surprisingly good, since they don't have cheese on them. I asked for some mayo, which they put on the side. The only thing that would have made this better would have been cheese. 5/5 stars. Cookies 'n' Cream Pizookie - $7.99 - Gotta have a pizookie. I like the oreo one and salted caramel the best. 5/5 stars. Service was excellent. Ambiance is moody and romantic. Come try BJ's again. They don't suck anymore.

Sirloin, plated with complimentary real mashed potatoes, as we ordered clam chowder and salad as our sides

Have not been to our local BJ's until today. We were seated immediately but once seated, we literally flagged down a server after 12 minutes of waiting since not one person greeted, brought water, or spoke to us. Restaurant at that time was maybe half full. It was as if we were invisible. The server we got the attention of, Ashley, told us that ours wasn't her assigned area but that she would be happy to take our order. She brought water to the table and kindly addressed any menu questions we had. Food was delicious. Hubby got their fish (whitefish) and chips and an add-on side wedge salad. I ordered the 8oz sirloin, which comes with 2 sides of choice. I ordered their clam chowder as one side, served as an appetizer before the meal, and also a wedge side salad. The chowder was surprisingly delectable and clams were plentiful! Our salads were served in a chilled bowl (always a plus) and were fresh, crisp, and topped with bleu cheese, tomatoes, and real bacon bits. Again, really tasty! My steak was cooked as ordered but very small...definitely NOT 8 ounces. Also lacked seasoning, which I added (S&P). The GM came to our table (did not ask to see him) and agreed the size was not 8ounces, was very apologetic, and both he and our server returned with additional 6 oz steaks, which my hubby will have for lunch tomorrow, with half of my salad (as it was so big!). If you donate at least $1 to the Alzheimer's Association, all of your donation goes directly to this great cause and you get a complimentary Dessert Pizookie, which hubby loved! Gave this experience 5 stars because even though there was a delay, and the steak was sized wrong, Ashley, and especially the GM, could not have been better about taking responsibility for the error and going above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction! We will go back!

The Italian Market Pizza

Came for dinner on a very busy Saturday night. This is a large restaurant and they don't necessarily have enough parking to accommodate their seating inside. During busy times you may have to drive around till something opens up. We used the online waitlist feature and only had to wait about an additional 15 minutes than we were originally told. The restaurant can get loud, but you are still able to hold conversations without yelling at each other. Ordered the Italian Market pizza. Crust was thin and crispy. Tasty and well prepared. I usually don't get dessert at restaurants but the pizookies here are always a yummy treat. These are all so good. The warm gooey cookie with added ice cream is just divine! Service was decent considering how busy it was.

I had been craving pizza for sometime now and since we were traveling we decided to stop and get some BJs. We had never been to this location so we were wondering how their food taste. We say this because every location of any restaurants never taste the same because ingredients change over a period of time. Atmosphere: We ordered food Togo because we were tired and they seemed busy but upon entering this location i noticed this location was amazingly well kept and I loved the way it was lite at night. I could instantly smell all the amazing foods and snacks they were preparing. I said to myself "the food smells this good I can't wait to get mine" Customer Service: The customer service was amazing. They didn't try avoid making eye contact before assisting me which I though was great because at some establishments the workers will see a customer is waiting on the corner of their eyes and avoid eye contact to help. But this location didn't do that. They were very attentive and made sure both my wife and myself orders were correct before leavening. Food ordered: The only food I ordered was a sharable BBQ chicken pizza with a large Pepsi. All in all it totaled to be about $28. This pizza was great! I'd recommend eating at this location!

First time getting a burger here and I didn't regret it, it was nice and juicy and cooked perfectly. Jesse our waitress was super friendly and gave us excellent service. Really wish I had room for the pazoomi.Maybe next time.

Came with a group of friends and even though it took some time to get our food, it was simply delicious. I was impressed with the quality of the food and its taste. I had the chicken sandwich which was great and the fries were delicious. The bbq tips were also great! Certainly I'll come back for lunch or dinner. Plenty of food options which is great when you bring friends and sometimes you don't know hat they would like to eat. They were happy and enjoyed their choices. A bit pricey but in line with the food quality.

Berry burst cider

I came with my family to BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse for one reason alone: my brother. He tried one in a business trip to Columbus, and said we all should give them another try. I did not want to come, i had too many bad experiences in Miami area BJ's when I lived there, and did not want a repeat. It started positively enough. 5 minute wait for a booth. Waitress was prompt getting our orders. My family got sodas, I wanted an adult beverage. She had to come back though because the drink I wanted, Revolution Freedom Lemonade, they were out of. So i quickly poured over the drink menu and got the BJ's Berry Burst Cider... which was ok. My family got salads, which were ok. I ordered the Chili, which was absolutely delicious! Sadly this was the best plate we got. The rest of our food, the main courses lacked flavor and came tepid. We ate some of it but we did not finish our meals. Considering the price, I could have eaten more and better at PF Changs which was nearby, or for less at Chilli's Not coming back.

Tomato mozzarella salad
James P.

Stopped in right before Christmas on The way to visit family and wanted something light and not too heavy. Got the mozzarella and tomato salad. Flavors were great! Just wish it had more arugula in the salad. Felt like it was used as more of a garnish but I love the fact that this dish is on their menu. I love arugula and it's hard to find restaurants that serve it! Please don't ever take this off your menu Bj's, it's what keeps me coming back !

Listen I'm just going to say, she seen me come in.... Then put her head down for about 10mins. I waited patiently even though I already knew what was going on. Another gentleman walked in and she looked up and asked him "How many" and he let her know that I was CLEARLY Already standing in her face. All for her to take me to a table with water still on the floor. Had to ask for a different seat .... Yeah its a no for me

Spoke + Ivy (west Main Street, FW) - another locally unique dinning experience that deserves a try…read more Spoke + Ivy is located on west Main Street - across the parking lot from Redwood Inn restaurant, if that helps. This restaurant is set in an old building that used to house a pharmacy. It retains the character of the building via the hardwood interiors, tall ceilings, large window views of the street and concrete/industrial ceilings. The interior is nicely decorated with inviting green, brown wood and black accent colors. Table settings were very attractive as well. You can park in the small side lot or on the street. Reservations are easily made on line. The team is very friendly and welcoming. All set the stage for a fun and relaxing dinner experience. Spoke + Ivy has a very small food and specialty cocktail menu. This is the second time we have been here. Each time we found the food to be delicious and the cocktails are uniquely designed. Here is a run down on the food items we ordered: -Focaccia Bread: a mildly sweet, dense/firm bread, slightly airy with a touch of herbs to accent. It is cut into blocks so it is easier to share. The vodka sauce is thin in consistency with a smooth Italian seasoned tomato appeal. Both make for a deliciously simple starter. -Lobster Roll Rangoon: decided to give this a try. It comes out as one large Rangoon - not individual pieces. This means that you must awkwardly cut this shareable into pieces. The slightly crispy & oily wrapper is similar to most crab Rangoon pieces. It has a nice crisp. The inside has shredded pieces of lobster. It was not filled with creme cheese sauce like traditional rangoons - just plain. The green lemon parsley sauce was simply outstanding! It's very fresh, moderately thick and has a slightly tart taste. This added "the sauce" to what the inside of the Rangoon was lacking. -Milanese: nicely breaded chicken that was very moist. The breading is slightly sweet. The fresh bed of arugula salad is a nice add -Prime Rib Pho: this sounded really interesting. It's a smaller/healthier dish. The medium rare prime rib was sliced thin and tender. There wasn't many pieces of prime rib in this dish. The add-ins were fresh and much like you would expect from a Pho dish - just not as much volume. The broth has a chili oil base that gives it a spicier flavor. Overall we really enjoy this relaxed atmosphere and character of the building. The delicious food and cocktails are excellent.

We were seated in a very awkward corner table for two where the tables were really close together. Since it was our Valentine's celebration, I would have been uncomfortable with the tables next to us having people at them because it didn't give you any privacy or space for private conversation. We did not get drinks or appetizers. Our meals were very good (salmon and chicken). The server was good but didn't refill my water and that' a big deal to me. Also, it's supposed to be an upscale place and they were out of paper towels in the bathroom. I feel like that is just basic service they should check on regularly.

One who travels frequently for business and the other who is in town frequently with their family. Both recommended Tolon as a wonderful place to sit down and have an excellent meal. I'm happy they did. I walked in the door and was warmly greeted by the hostess and asked to sit at the bar. The bartender greeted me immediately when I sat down and grabbed a bottle of water and the stainless steel cup for the water and poured me a drink. She provided me with the menu and the cocktail menu and gave me space in time to make my decisions. I went with a glass of Malbec, and the deviled eggs as a starter. My main course was another small plate: the beef short rib with polenta cake. The deviled eggs were phenomenal and had a unique flavor and we're just right sized for one. The beef short rib dish was excellent and maybe a little more than I could handle it once after the deviled eggs. Every person that brought food to me or that chatted with me while I sat at the bar was kind and welcoming.

The Hoppy Gnome (downtown Fort Wayne, southeast side of courthouse) - new food menu, you decide!…read more The old food offerings were the reason I came here and the reason I preferred not to come back. I loved the Cuban flavors, unique food items and the variety of tacos. Everyone loves tacos and The Hoppy Gnome did (still does, only 4 versions now) them well. However...after about a half dozen visits...I got bored with the same offerings. On line posters and most frequent customers (according to the manager) tend to favor the old menu. I, personally, found the change very refreshing and delicious! I will be back as there are lots of new things to try! The Hoppy Gnome is located downtown on the southeast side of the court house. You can park in the Citizens Center parking lot for free after 5pm. It is safe and right across the street from The Gnome. Making a reservation is easy on Open Table. I would suggest you do that versus walking in. The inside is still appealing with the bright and colorful industrial decor. They have a large private seating area for parties. They also have a street side outdoor patio. We sat outside on this summer evening. The area is spacious with solid high table furniture. People watching is fun but the traffic can be really loud at times. The new menu has a much broader appeal and less emphasis on Cuban only items. You will find lots of appetizer choices. Salads, burgers, flatbreads, pasta, seafood and chicken dishes are available. There are a decent number of specialty entrees and four varieties of tacos. All items pretty reasonably priced. Here is a run down on the food we ordered: -Chicken Flatbread: the crust was a little thicker than a normal thin crust and very soft; the manager said they really researched out this crust to fit their style; lots of delicious grilled chicken and toppings; very tasty! -Miso Honey Wings: 8 medium sized wings that are grilled and dipped; slightly crunchy skins; all white color on the inside but perhaps a little over cooked as the wing meat was tough and a bit dry; very unique sauce - very thick, sticky and rich in consistency; mild amount of sweetness and teriyaki flavors. The manager says about 70% of the people that order wings get the Miso Honey sauce. This dish was very good also! -Side salad: nice sized side salad; very fresh and attractive; no iceberg lettuce here - real greens; nice garnishment of carrots, cucumbers and roasted red peppers The team here was very friendly and professional - per normal. They hustled to serve. We particularly enjoyed sharing our experience with the manager and getting insight on the changes. Give the new menu a try for yourself!!

I guess I'll skip to the end when I got my check, and was completely shocked to learn that I had a fantastic meal and an excellently made spritz, plus dessert, for a shockingly low price. I even double-checked the check, to make sure they didn't accidentally leave something off. No! How could it be? It turns out that I was visiting Rune during happy hour, which is Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 6 p.m. This could be why my bill was so agreeable. So, if you're looking for a great meal for a great price, visit during happy hour. So, the spritz. Literally every table ordered the spritz while I was there, including me. It was a great choice, and it looked especially pretty and ombre in a glass with ice. Like any good spritz, it had just enough alcohol to make things sparkle a little, but was also refreshing and hydrating. I made a note in my phone to remember that the bartender used words like "vegetal" and "herbaceous" when talking about some of the cocktails to the people sitting at the bar. I love a good vegetal, herbaceous drink, and it made me want to order another cocktail. Instead, I ordered the green spaghetti from the happy hour menu, which is a paired down menu, but has a lot of the items from the regular menu. The spaghetti was bright green from a pesto made from ramps, nori butter and parmesan, and there were also bits of clams throughout. It was rich and buttery! Ramps are one of those things that I have to get when I see them on a menu during the spring. They're only around for a short time, so they're precious. For dessert, I went with the pot de creme, which was flavored with pho spices (cinnamon, anise, coriander, cardamom, fennel, etc.) and had peanuts and chocolate on the bottom. Holy fudgy bottom! This was the smoothest, most balanced dessert I've eaten in a long time. Smooth, but with the occasional peanut here and there to make things interesting. The service was excellent. I was dining by myself, so I got seated at a cozy little table, lit with a candle, that was off to the side but also in the center of everything, so I could people watch, which is one of my favorite things to do. I wanted for nothing the entire time, but was also left the eff alone. It was perfect. It was one of the best dining experiences I've had that I can remember.
