So I call to get an appt for my son's car. I called at 5:35 today and they say they can't do 8:30am tomorrow but how about 10am or 8:45. I take 8:45. I call back because I think, shoot, 10am might be better with my daughter's schedule for drop off and I'm not sure how long they will have the car. I probably should have thought this through before but I had just gotten home from picking up my daughter from volleyball practice so I was just hoping to reach them on time(I thought they closed at 6pm). I went to this place on a Saturday morning with a full schedule for the day. The man working there was very friendly and very fast. If you have a nice car and you don't like to leave it alone, this place is good because you can watch the Smog Check from the couch in the waiting area. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. I took my Lotus Elise there for a smog check and this place was great! I was a bit worried because I've never owned an "exotic" car before and didn't want to just take it to some gas station. I checked their site on Yelp and saw pictures of a bunch of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc getting smogged there so I figured they probably knew what they're doing and would scrap the front of my car pulling it into the driveway or any of that stuff. I'm appalled by my experience today. I did not pass the smog test- my catalytic converter monitor was not ready. This was not their fault and I don't think they were being dishonest about this. However, this part WAS their fault. I brought my three year old son with me and was told he could stay in the car while I filled out paperwork ( at the desk 3 feet from my car). He was watching youtube kids in his carseat on my phone, minding his own business while patiently waiting for his momma. While I was paying for the failed/incomplete test, already flustered and confused as to why my car didn't pass, another employee got in my car and backed out of the garage WITH MY KID IN THE CAR!!!!!! I don't know you and you did not ask permission to back my car out, especially with my child in it. Nobody should be driving my child without my permission. I was literally in shock. I quickly finished signing for the $40 I threw out the window for an incomplete test and ran outside after my child who was being parked in my car down the street. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Zero starts. I am beyond upset.. !!!My Husband thought this establishment was capable of repairing our vehicle. We lost power on the freeway and my husband used this place to fix. Well he said it was the timing belt. So, okay then played him to fix it. He added thermostat since it was convenient. $771.00 and our car is not running at ALL. I didn't actually get my smog checked here although I attempted to. I made an appointment by phone and took time out of my day to bring my car in. When I arrived, I filled out the paperwork and showed my coupon. Then the owner proceeded to work on my car for 5 min and enter things in his computer. He then tells me that he cannot complete the work because he is not "Start Certified" and I would have to find another smog station. ??? He could have told me this when I called! I went in today to get my car smogged for the DMV renewal. There was one person in front of me whose car was being smogged. Moe, the worker (owner?) was busy, but when he finished the car in front of me, he had me fill out the paperwork. Which I did. He put my info in the computer, got my keys, took my car in so he could begin the check. When he finished I came to the counter and showed him a coupon on my phone from his website. He refused to take the coupon saying I had needed to show it to him before he began the smog check. I said "I didn't know that." He said "that's how it is with anything. You must show coupons before you sign any estimate." The thing is there wasn't an estimate. It was a flipping smog check! I can't help but think he wouldn't honor the coupon because I'm a woman. This was my second smog I've had done (at this place) by Moe. I guarantee you I won't be coming back to see him in 2 years! He's not customer friendly, and he won't accept a $10 off coupon from a woman!! Never again will I come to AA+Smog. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Would love to give them a zero rating if that was an option. I had called a few times to see if the AA+ Smog was open for service (Yelp indicated they were open on Sundays) and nobody answered. I did receive a call back 30 minutes later telling me they were closed and that I was "stupid" for not looking at the yelp hours (which already indicated they were actually open!). I was completely insulted and shocked that a customer oriented business would be so rude. I would never consider doing business with them ever. During the repair process, Mohamad, the owner of AA+ Smog, severely damaged our interior console trim. When I paid for the repair and then subsequently entered my vehicle, I noticed the damage he caused right away. Not only did he fail to mention the damage he did, but he tried to conceal the damage by covering it with duct tape. This was obviously done to conceal the damage and clearly reveals that this vendor is dishonest and lacks integrity. He said he would repair it, but needed to order a used part. He kept delaying and saying that he could not find the part. I called the dealer and they had the part easily available. After months of hearing all of his excuses and endless delays we just gave up. Now we have a damaged console and this has devalued our vehicle. I asked to be reimbursed for the damage and he refused. I would not trust him to do any further repairs on our vehicle. read more

Car failed smog check because of visual inspection of PCV valve, it was "dirty" around the grommet. Did he remove PCV to check it such as if it rattles...nope only visual. Why run it and charge me if it will not past the visual part..maybe this way he can charge me again. Did the car run clean the first time? Yes, it passed with no problem, but failed only for visual... probably cause I had a ad from the penny saver. The ad get's you in and by failing the vehicle for a "visual" inspection, he can make up the difference$$ on retest. Hope the owner reads this so he will stop scamming coupon users. BTW, I'm a mechanic! No mechanic can tell if a PCV valve is bad just by looking at it. read more

He's NIASE-certified in all areas (I took three of their tests - engine repair, engine tune-up, brakes - years ago and know a little about auto repair). He honored his advertised coupon price without a murmur and the total price made it worth going out of the way to visit his shop. so I recently brought 3 cars to him a lexus a jetta and a 4x4 truck, I help out some elderly people in my neighborhood he would not honor his coupon each time and not only that he wanted to charge more than his regular price all three vehicles for the lexus he told me because it costed more because he had to inspect the ignition timing... this needs to be checked on all cars I told him this is noting special and he told me no my car is special which it is not for the jetta he told me it was more because it was a manual transmission and it makes doing the test harder because he needs to shift from 2nd to 3rd gear, this is also a poor excuse, I have been getting cars with manual transmissions smogged since the late 80s and was never charged more for a manual transmission for the 4x4 truck not only did he not honor the coupon he wanted to charge more and he did as he said the vehicle was heavy and puts wear and tear on his machine. I told him a 4x4 can not go on his dyno anyway as it is tested in park. he ripped me off 3 times, its not the money that bothers me it is his lies and how bold he is to try to make extra money read more
