I am new to the area with an old car. Being a young woman I purchased AAA because no lady wants to break-down in the Dirty D. I did break down and they had a hook to me within 15 minutes. When I arrived I told the staff not to screw me over--they were first rate. I live in Durham but drive here to get anything done to my car because I trust them. Service has been going down steadily for years. My daughter went in for an inspection and told them to check the air. They charged $100 for to drain and weigh the freon and refill (no adding) and $6 supplies. Thats 6% supplies. They told her nothing was wrong with the air the vent was restricted and the cabin air filter needed to be changed. Today , I received a coupon from AAA today for A/C check $14.95. The store manaer told me that tthe only way to check the A/C was to drain and refill. So the national chain is wrong or the local store is wrong. My past couple of services have had dubious diagnoses with high service bills. Its time for me to move on. read more

This is a hard review to write because we had no choice. Our car died at the airport as we were unloading our baggage at the airport for an International Flight. We called AAA to get towed from the terminal and do the repairs while we were away in Iceland so were caught by the proverbial "short-hairs" and had no way to check prices or reviews. The car was towed to AAA Cary fixed and left for us to pick up after midnight a week after we left as agreed upon. All was completed as agreed to. The people we spoke to (tower and shop owner) were very courteous and cooperative and were very helpful in getting our car running before we returned to the U.S. The only qualm I have is possible the price--it wasn't cheap but they got the work done on time and professionally. read more

Have now twice been overcharged/scammed at this place. My sister had a staple in her tire - this place says she needs a new one, we go somewhere else and they repair it for 18$. Then I asked her to take my car in to change the oil since I work during the day, they do not accept the coupon and charge her 36$. I am a AAA member, I should not be paying 36$ for a standard oil change. Unbelievable. read more

Despite the reviews for this location I went anyway. They were extremely pleasant and intelligent. The manager introduced himself and when I mentioned the yelp score he was aware and informed me he is the new manager and has hired a new service manager. They were quick to aid me in membership and even had open avail to do an oil change. I was impressed with all what they inspect in just the standard oil change. They even check brakes which jiffy lube doesn't do! Overall I see a great improvement on the rise here and the researcher reading this should definitely try them now! Responsible, friendly and competent. An urgent situation with my daughter's car as she was returning to school that morning. Explained the situation and they brought me right in. The radiator issue was addressed and repaired. A big relief for me. No parent wants send their kid out on the road with a looming potential auto issue. Lots of folks complaining about the time for service. I found it's best to schedule and leave the car for the day. Shops have to be flexible with their resources (staff) when addressing such varied repairs. read more

First time customer - brought my vehicle in to have two tires remounted. After telling the gentlemen at the front desk FIVE times which tires needed to be fixed we moved onto my check engine light. I asked for an estimate of several punch list items that I wanted fixed in December. It was suggested I have a diagnostic check done to give me an "in-depth" reasoning for my issues. I agreed. I never received an "in-depth" reasoning, but paid $99.95 to hear someone else tell me what I already knew. To top it off, I never got my estimate for the items I wanted done and they never fixed my two tires. I had to wait an hour after they closed for them to do the one thing I originally brought my car in to have fixed. I'm a AAA member and I will never bring my car back there. Buyer beware. I give a negative 5 stars. November 30, 2016 - I received a call from Rich, the manager of AAA, a day after writing this review. We spoke at great length about my disappointment with the service I received. I give five stars to Rich for taking ownership of his employees mistakes and refunding me my entire purchase price. I have used this location for years and today I went in to get an oil change and asked for a conventional oil change. The man made a big pretense of looking into whether my 2015 Nissan Altima can have a regular oil change. Then told me No that only a FULL synthetic oil change is recommended by the manufacturer (which I looked up and is an absolute lie) and they would only do the Full synthetic change. I asked if he would do the Blend and he said no ONLY the full synthetic change but I could go elsewhere if I wanted that. So I did - I went right down the street to another AAA (Cary Towne Center) which was happy to do my blend oil change and also explained clearly that AAA does not do conventional oil changes anymore which is fine because I was happy to go with the blend. Since this location is now under new management, I can't begin to express how much the service and general experience ROCK!! To be honest, I absolutely hate to have my car serviced. My experiences at this AAA location have changed that perception. I had an oil change, radiator flush and new tires put on my Ford Edge. Never going to AAA again. My daughter needed an oil change and inspection on her 2004 Jeep Liberty. I gave her a coupon for a $22 oil change that I had received in the mail from AAA (as a member). I told her not to get the synthetic oil but get high mileage conventional oil. Upon return, she said the bill was over $100. The bill showed they charged $70 for the oil change, and then discounted it about $20 for a $50 oil service. $30 for the inspection (normal), and then another $20 to replace a brake light bulb (robbery) and it's over $100. They did take the time to work up estimates of over $1000 of repairs they "recommended". Seriously, this place gives AAA a bad name and I would never go to any AAA service center again. read more

Went in for a simple oil change because I had a coupon. The person waiting on me was nice and got my information quickly. The reason I gave it one star was the fact it took so long just get an oil change over an hour and half and I had made an appointment, and my radio station had been changed and turned up very loud as well as my seat was laid all the way back for some reason. Why? I will go back to my regular place that treats my car with respect and can get an oil change done in 45 minutes. Don't waste your time with this place. read more

I have been here several times for oil changes and that's not what the problem was this time. I had my car towed over the weekend to the shop and was told on Monday that after a diagnostic test that I was going to need a new engine based off the fact that my tail pipe was still smoking due to my oil plug falling out and only driving 3-4 miles. They quoted me a crazy number and when I asked if once they put new oil in did they give it some time to run through and re lubricate the engine and belts they didn't say anything. Long story short I had it towed to a different shop and when they started my car it was no longer smoking and the car sounded normal. The new garage drove it about 20-30 miles round trip and said everything sounded normal. They checked my car and found that the spark plugs needed to be replaced as well as a belt. So for that to be done to my car as well as an oil change cost $250. AAA was wanting to charge me $4600 for a new engine when that wasn't even the problem. Do yourself a favor and get your car checked out by a different garage and save your money. read more

Pushy salesmen and high prices. Not recommended. I just left my oil change feeling ripped off. I normally take my car to the dealer, but the AAA place is close-by so I thought I'd try it. The oil change was $65 (normally around 40 at the dealer) and they tried to get me to pay $19.95 for an air filter that the dealer will change for free. I had a trailer hitch and lighting package that I purchased installed on my car. Ordinarily, this job would take 1-2 hours for an amateur as the receiver is a simple bolt on and the lighting package just plugs in - no electric rewiring is required. According to the directions on the package, a professional should be able to do this in 30-45 minutes. I brought it to AAA because I figured they would be able to do this quickly as I am in the midst of a hectic move. Well over three hours later even after scheduling an early morning appointment (the delay due apparently to a door breaking while another car was being serviced), I ended up paying more than the entire towing package costs. The part that irked me the most was after 2.5 hours I was finally contacted and they mentioned they were finally finishing the receiver and the lighting package would take another hour and 20 minutes. When I asked why (while obviously frustrated), since it shouldn't take this long knowing from my own experience of doing it myself (it isn't hard even for an amateur like myself), they mentioned all the difficulties of doing this, which are minimal from experience. Ten minutes later, they tell me my car is done, so at least my frustration paid off. I used to go to the AAA in Durham for service and while the prices were still high, they were not this outrageous and that location was at least timely and reliable. Although I am moving out of the area and would not be returning here anyway, I will definitely tell friends and family in the area to look elsewhere for their car care needs. read more

BEWARE. This AAA will screw you over- they did so to me on two different occasions. The first time my check engine light went on I brought it to Auto-zone to be read and there were three codes. AAA took my car for a diagnosis to figure out the codes and keep it for two entire days. They took another day to "fix it" and then proceeded to overcharge me. A few weeks later, my check engine light came on again. Same deal- I had it read at Auto-zone and there were two codes. One was for the exact same thing AAA had claimed to have fixed. I took my car back to AAA, they held it for another two days for diagnosis and then proceeded to tell me they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and recommended I take it to the dealership. Needless to say, I would not recommend this AAA ever, to anyone. read more

If there was a 1/2 star review, this service center would have received it. My wife took her 2005 Lexus 330 in for a simple oil change. She had a 2pm appointment but the car did not get finished until 3:30pm. She left the shop and had to turn right around and go back due to a noise that was coming from the front of the car. Upon her returning to the service center the service manager came out and asked what was the problem. My wife explained that the car had developed a noise since their servicing it. The manager bent down and found that a cover, that had been removed by the "technician" to service the vehicle, had not been properly secured back into place. The manager commenting that "Lexus has this problem." No Lexus doesn't have this problem. Sloppy, inattentive technicians not doing a thorough job is the problem! You are welcomed when you come and leave, which is a good thing. However, I had a coupon for an oil change, tire rotation and fluid top off etc. For some reason I decided to mark both rear rims with a red mark. You can probably guess where I'm going here, the tires had not been rotated they just put air in them. I've never marked my rims before to see if shops actually did what they were supposed to do but, I will from this point on. I made an appointment to get an oil change. I showed up ten minutes early and they didn't deal with me or talk to me until about 25 minutes after my appointment time. I then waited almost two hours for my car to get done. The whole point of making the appointment was so that they would be expecting me and I wouldn't have to wait a long time. My appointment was at 1. I showed up at 12:50 and didn't get out until about 3:30. About two and a half hours for a 30$ oil change that I made an appointment for. Pretty slack.... read more

I don't understand the low reviews..I just used them for the first time (car wouldn't start, had it towed there) and they called me the same day to tell me what the problem was, how much to fix it, and I got a 10% discount off labor for being a AAA member (price much cheaper than the dealer for the same service). Technicians were helpful and answered all my questions. I actually dropped off my other car for a once-over before selling when I picked up the repaired one. read more

I am done with the AAA auto service. I have used them on and off for several years on several different vehicles and returned to them for an oil change on a relatively new vehicle. Tried to get some hard info about synthetic oils and just got a bunch of mumbo jumbo and decided to push on. I had an appointment for the oil change and it took them just short of 2 hours to perform the service! When I got back in the car there were grease an oil stains all over the center console and driver's side arm rest. Unacceptable and I won't return. read more

Amazing service!! I had a problem with my windshield wipers and when I came in I saw they were super busy, which I was nervous about but I didn't even wait a minute before a man came to help me! Turns out I just needed something to be tightened, but he checked it out for me, fixed it, made sure I was good to go and sent me on my way-- no cost!!! Very friendly guy, I was super pleased. Definitely will be going there next time I have any car trouble at all. read more

I took my car for an oil change and while there, I asked for the NC inspection. After 45 mins or so, they called me saying that in order to pass the state inspection I needed to get 4 new tires. I told them I just bought 2 about a y st ago, the guy said then I probably needed only 2. But I didn't accept the "offer" When I picked my car I had to pay for the inspection even though It "failed" I took my car to another car service center in Garner and after 15 mins I walked out with my NC inspection done!! Certainly AAA in Morrisville lost a loyal customer. read more

Terrible experience. This shop is a perfect example of the stereotypical shop that rips off young women who come in by themselves. I assumed that the AAA discount would counter the overpriced services I had heard about before, but I was wrong. I went in to have a hose replaced and was told that it was going to be $60 (understandable) + over $130 for labor to install it. They also insisted on flushing the system for an additional $180 in labor. The minimum labor charge in this shop is $109/hour, which means they assumed it would take over an hour to replace the hose, which should take no more than 30 minutes at most. They also added multiple things to my invoice that were suggested fixes, none of which seemed reasonable. While waiting for three hours, I heard multiple others in the waiting room complaining about additional "problems" the shop finds and vastly overpriced labor. I will never tow to a AAA shop again. It is worth the $4/mile to tow to a shop that I trust. The only positive part was the towing man was extremely nice and helpful. read more

Generally I am very pleased with the service here, but when it comes to anything electrical they suck at a major level. I had some urned out wires replaced and they told me I need a new battery. I told them that is a new one and I would take it to where I bought it. Turned out they had their meter set wrong and it showed on the slip they gave me. Then I had my car towed in because the alternator was shot, I knew it was shot and the said I needed a new battery. Turned out the short in the alternator was making it read low. This was found out by me taking the battery to 2 other shops where it ready good. This time I towed in a car I was selling to a friend and ther was fire shooting out of the alternator after the car had been in storage for 3 years. They said I needed a new battery and I told them that IS a new battery. The tech got really arrogant with me telling me he's been working on cars for 25 years. He coped a real rude tude and talked to me like I was an idiot. He may have been fixing cars for 25 years, but I bet he has replaced several perfectly good battlers because this one just needed a charge. He's been a mechanic for 25 years, I have been an electrician for 40 and I know a low battery reads low cold crank amps.basic physics. read more

I have always take my car into AAA Morrisville because I trust them and the in-store experience has always been more than satisfactory. However this week I had a flat tire and used the emergency service to come out and change it. The guy they contracted out to come change it was great, friendly and quick, as was the instore service afterwards. But the angry women who answer and process the service call were awful. I had to call twice, and both times two different women couldn't have been more unhelpful and added more frustration to my already stranded on the side of the road, late for work experience. It almost seemed like they just hated having to help me. In my opinion, AAA has the in-store customer experience down and is doing a really good job. But they need to hire and train their operators to be more compassionate and helpful when a frantic motorist and paying customer calls stranded on the side of the road seeking help. read more
