Ran by a very nice couple who welcome pets and helped out by offering us rooms at the last minute. Really clean, cute affordable rooms.

Absolutely amazing food! Went today after seeing a comment…read moreon North Idaho Foodies Facebook page. Called up my wife's Grandfather, checked if he was free for lunch. We drove up, about 40 minutes from where we live. We've been to Messys across the street a few times, and Spirit Lake is my wife's favorite summer hangout spot. We had seen White Horse a few times, but never stopped in. Sat in the bar/saloon area. Were told that the kitchen was a little backed up, it would be a while before our orders were put in. No big deal, we were happy to hang out. I was very pleased the staff were Open Carry supporters, even got a "Awesome Piece!" from the young man who seated us and took our orders - I THINK his name was Tim, I could be very wrong, but he was a very helpful server. Grandpa loves his milkshakes and was sad to find out they didn't have any. Meh, not a problem. I just ran across the street and grabbed a pair for us at Messy's. Problem solved! Owner stopped by after a while with his pup, amd chatted. Love the fact the place is locally owned and operated by someone who clearly loves the place, its history, and the area! After a while, the chef himself came out, apologized that our order wasn't ready - not a big deal, came to talk shop about my leathermaking business and hang out - and told us we were next up. I ordered the Motherload and grandpa ordered the Dip. Let me tell you, that both our plates were WAY exceeding any expectations for quality you could assume! My burger - if you could call a leaning tower of meat something as prosaic and simple as a "burger" - was absolutely remarkable! The patty was made from pulled pork! Like the chef took pulled pork bbq, and hand formed a patty with it! There had to be 1/2 a POUND of brisket on it, and several HUGE pieces of bacon. I'm a BIG guy. I have a BIG appetite. And I ate HALF that burger and couldn't stuff anything else in my gullet! Grandpa said his Dip was PERFECT! Being an older gentleman, sometimes swallowing dry food isn't that easy, so he likes the dogs because he can put some sauce or au ju on it, make it easier to swallow. He ended up drinking the au ju like it was soup, said the beef in his Dip was absolutely PERFECT by itself, basically melted in his mouth. And it was a LOT of meat on his, let me tell you! Both of us took home full boxes of leftovers, which, in my case, was stolen fairly quickly by my wife and kiddo, who proceeded to absolutely DEMOLISH the remains of my too quickly departed evening snack! Now they are both bugging me to go back, which I will be all to happy to do. So if you are in the Spirit Lake area, and looking for good food, rest assured, you are in great hands! White Horse Saloon is where epic food comes to be served!

The house and grounds are magnificent, the service warm but discrete. Items that in name brand properties you get charged for are gratis here, without asking. Bottled water and ice in the fridge, Keurig machine and selection in the room, wonderful home-made short cookies on a plate, chips and breakfast bars in a basket in the room, and the best part, their own breakfast blend of coffee already for you to brew loaded up in the coffee machine. It is so nice to wake up to a flavorful strong cup of coffee in the morning, this makes the stay worth it right there. The beds are big, comfortable with high end linen. The bathrooms are big, huge, with terrycloth robes and Egyptian towels. Wifi is great with very good speed (35Mb/s avg.). I've stayed in three different rooms and all had their own warm personality and classic touches. I really like the Mountain penthouse room with the small private deck. They know I'm a smoker and always have an ashtray out there waiting. When I come in the door I'm welcomed by name. So nice after a long drive or flight. When I walk in I know that I don't have to worry about anything, it's already taken care of.

The only problem was that the lighting was dim and there were no trash bags to fill the bins. Apparently breakfast is free and made to order but I checked out too early to try it out. It's a quick drive over to the airport, so it's a good, affordable option for a night before a flight.

A Stunning Stay - Hotel Cambria is Thoughtful, Stylish, and Exceptionally Comfortable…read more I was absolutely thrilled about the grand opening of Hotel Cambria. We stayed for 3 to 4 nights, and the entire experience was nothing short of phenomenal. From the elegant design and smart layout of the rooms to the friendly service and upscale amenities, this hotel truly left a lasting impression. Beautifully Designed Rooms with Purposeful Layout Our room was compact but brilliantly designed with clear attention to functionality and aesthetics. A large headboard behind the bed separated the sleeping area from the spacious workstation, allowing for both rest and productivity. The bed faced the window, so we could wake up naturally to the sunlight--a small touch that made a big difference in our mornings. One clever detail was the TV placement--instead of being mounted directly in front of the bed, it was placed on the side wall. This turned out to be perfect for watching TV while lying down, since it naturally aligned with our position on the bed when lying down. Behind the bed, the workstation included a hidden mini fridge, a sliding closet for jackets and bags, and ample desk space--enough to comfortably fit two people working side by side with laptops, keyboard stands, and more. Though there was only one chair, a rectangular bench next to the desk worked perfectly as a second seat. The room's design details were impressive. The drawers had a texture reminiscent of a leather-woven Italian wallet, and the wallpaper echoed Aztec or possibly local Spokane patterns. We later learned the artwork around the hotel pays tribute to Spokane's universities and local culture, which added even more meaning to the space. Luxurious Bathroom Experience The bathroom was a true highlight. The water pressure was incredible, giving the feeling of standing beneath a natural waterfall. The hotel provides PURE-branded toiletries, which were refreshing and high-quality. A standout feature was the Bluetooth-enabled mirror with built-in rim lighting--perfect for listening to music while showering and ideal for applying makeup. The mirror was large enough for two people to use comfortably, and the sliding door design added a modern, space-saving touch. We also appreciated the thoughtfulness of TEN towels of various sizes and a designated makeup towel--a small but meaningful detail. Thoughtful Lobby & Complimentary Amenities The lobby was gorgeous and inviting, with a stylish bar area, a middle coffee station, and a small essentials store. The complimentary coffee station in the morning was outstanding, offering fresh spices like nutmeg, cardamom, and cinnamon, as well as syrup options like hazelnut, huckleberry, and vanilla. There were three types of milk, including non-dairy choices like oat and almond, and even alternative sweeteners. We also appreciated having access to a microwave on the first floor, which was great for heating up meals. Amenities & Warm Service The hotel also has a cozy gym, small but well-equipped for a solid morning workout, and a conference room accented with beautiful floral arrangements. Service throughout our stay was top-notch. A special thank-you to the lovely staff at the bar who helped us with a big smile when we needed extra coffee and utensils. Their kindness made a real difference. Prime Location Without the Downtown Hustle Hotel Cambria is located just 10 minutes from downtown Spokane and right next to the airport, giving you convenient access to the city while staying in a quieter, more relaxing area. It's ideal for those who want proximity without the chaos. Final Thoughts From the moment we arrived, Hotel Cambria exceeded our expectations in every way. The design, comfort, and amenities were truly exceptional, and the thoughtful details--both big and small--made it feel like a stay at a much higher-tier property. If you're visiting Spokane and want a modern, peaceful, and well-equipped home base, this hotel should be at the top of your list. I can't wait to come back!
