I called these guys about doing a transmission flush on my 2008 highlander hybrid. They said it would cost $169 and I had a $20 AAA coupon that would take it down to $149. Since this was $50 cheaper than the $199 cost that the Toyota dealer had provided I opted for these guys. About 10 minutes after bringing my car in, Clark told me that when they looked at my vehicle they discovered it had a CVT which would require 2 containers of a very expensive synthetic fluid and the cost for the flush would be $280 vs. the $169 originally promised. I told him forget about it - my dealer would do it a lot cheaper. I later called my dealer and told him about the experience and confirmed that the price he gave me was correct. I also checked online to see what kind of transmission a 2008 highlander hybrid has - it doesn't have a CVT, but rather has a PST. Either these guys don't know what they're doing or they just expected me to pony up the extra $110 without checking around. Very disappointing. Here's an update. The manager sent me an email including screen shots of the research they did at the VIN level to determine the type of transmission in my vehicle. It pretty clearly showed it as a CVT. Since the research I did was not at the VIN level then their information would be more reliable than mine. It appears they did due diligence to determine the kind of service needed. Having said that, the dealer is still able to provide the transmission flush considerably cheaper. read more

I been having some work done there and it almost seems like they are the same price as the dealer where I bought the car from. They are very expensive and when I asked for dealer parts, there were actually more expensive then the dealer to do the work. I ask if they do a price hike on when they get dealer parts and they said yes. AAA auto repair is not in the parts business so why do they do a price hike on dealer parts?. I know they say that I get a 2-year warranty, but when the prices are so high, I am actually paying for that warranty. I did not want to mention any names because I just deal with who answers the phone. I will start getting quotes from different auto repair shops including the dealership. read more

I am very unhappy with this service center. In 2018 I purchased a AAA battery from the roadside assistant man after having a dead battery. In the last month I have had to have a jump 7 times of the battery. Six of the times was in Mexico. the 7th time was in phoenix, on 11-25-2019 and when the technician came out to jump me he said he couldn't replace the battery because it was too dead to check! He recommended that I go to the service center. Later that date after driving the car purposely for over an hour in order to charge the battery. I went to the service center but was informed that all mechanics had gone home at 5 even though they are open until 6. I called the next day and asked when would be a reasonable time to come in for the 5 minute test that wouldn't require an hour long wait but I could not get an answer. I went in yesterday, 11-26-2019, and was serviced immediately by a technician that was waiting for parts. The test said the battery had to be replaced soon but the manager refused to replace it because he said his AAA SERVICE CENTER had no access to AAA records for date of purchase (I thought it was on the battery) and the test said soon not immediately. Now today, 11-27-2019, I am sitting at home waiting for a technician to come jump my DEAD battery. I have grandchildren at preschool waiting to be picked up and I and they have to WAIT AGAIN. I am definitely not happy with the AAA service center on E Camelback, Phoenix. read more

I can not say enough good this about this place. I get towed in at 4:00 with 2 flat tires, the technicians leave at 5:00 buy the time they ordered the tires and got them out on the car it was 6:30, was so thankful they stayed late just to finish my car. read more

First I would like to say that Jimmy is a super nice guy. He answered all of my questions without frustration and explained everything very clearly and easy to understand. I went in for a routing oil change knowing I was going to need additional work in the very near future. He gave me a printout of everything I needed. When I went back for the a/c check and radiator flush all was done in a very timely manner. Mike the young man who worked on my car was very nice. I now cold air blowing :). I felt very confident that I was not being taken advantage of as many places do when they see a woman come in. I still need a few more things done. Jimmy gave me another printout of what is needed and the price. I will be going back for the rest of the work. The only thing that is needed is a Donut shop close by :) Great guys. read more

Broke down while on a trip to Scottsdale, called AAA and they came out to tow me right away. Told me that if I towed to their facility they would give me 15% off so I said yes. They called me the next day, broken belt and tensioner, would cost $650. I called MB dealer and the est was $450, AAA came down to $480 and rather than tow it to the dealer I opted to have AA do the job. After I got the bill I noticed the belt that was $35 for original MB was $65 and the tensioner that was $156 MB was $197. I thought oh well, it got done in one day and I was back on the road. Returned to home and went to my regular mechanic today, he would have been $350 with MB original parts, he told me that AAA used after market parts, even though they charged me more than original equipment part prices, ouch. never again. read more

Ok so this morning I had NO intention of having to stop at a car place. But on my way to work someone flagged me down and told me my back tire was completely flat. I had no clue how it even happened because I didn't hit anything. So I stopped at the first place I could see and it happened to be here. I jumped out, and noticed that my poor tire was down and out for the count! The guys there, were SO FRIENDLY!!! I was a mess this morning, I was on my way to a big corp. function, and they checked out my tire without me even having an appointment, told me that my tire was in really bad shape and even put my spare on for me. They even held my car for my while I ran to my Corp. Office for 30 mins and when I came back, the guys were so nice that they didn't charge me! I would honestly come back and refer anyone to them now! They were AMAZING!!! I cannot thank them enough for helping me this morning!!!! Go here! They will help you out! My daughter had her car towed here after hitting a curb and was quoted over $1400 for repairs. Luckily she had it towed to another shop for a second opinion and had it fixed for less than $200. AAA on Camelback is an absolute class act. I had a complex issue with my air conditioning and dealt with Clark. They fixed the issue on the first visit, but some anomalies arose after the fix and brought my truck back to AAA for further diagnosis. They not only welcomed me back, but found and fixed the problems with NO CHARGE. I have subsequently brought my vehicle back to AAA for service including my second vehicle. I needed to find a local repair shop not too far from home, and found AAA on yelp. I had a digital coupon from their website and decided to give them a try. I made an appointment with them and the lady representative asked if I had a coupon for the oil service I was requesting. I said yes, but that I wanted "synthetic" oil instead of regular. She said instead of the regular special of $19.95, they would just give a $10 discount off the synthetic service price of $59.95. When I checked in, the tech asked what kind of coupon I had so I showed him and when he checked me out, my receipt did not show any discount. I don't know if the prices went up since I booked my appointment or not, but that would be my only gripe. To most people these days, 10 dollars is 10 dollars, and while the price ultimately charged was fair, the promise of a discount is nevertheless a promise, I feel. Other than that, I would return as I felt that the staff was professional and the premises were clean and comfortable if you are waiting and they offer shuttle service which is a huge plus. read more

My wife and i bring our cars here and have never had a negative experience. I believe the negative comments come from the fact that they are more often than not VERY BUSY. Also people think they can fix ANYTHING on ANY CAR. They have always been polite to me and my wife, and when they found more wrong than what we thought was wrong, they took the time to explain what they found. Contrary-wise, when I brought in my wife's car and insisted the water pump bearing was screeching, they took the time to explain to me that they found one of the pulleys was screeching and the bill would be quite a bit less than what I thought it would be, because the water pump was fine. Having once been in the auto parts business, I always enjoy chatting with Clark about cars, he's got a good sense of humor. read more

If you live in Phoenix, you know that when it gets upward of 110, EVERYONE'S car breaks down. I got into my car one morning, pushed the button to open the driver's side window and BAM, something snapped and the window dropped down into the door, and that was it. Just completely toast. I called my regular guy and he apologized and said at least 2 weeks-he was swamped. So as a long time AAA member, I called these guys. "Yep, bring it in, we'll get it done today." And they did!! In fact, they drove from N. Phx to CenPho for a part that they couldn't find anywhere else-what service!! They told me that the cable or whatever that broke, had damaged the tracks of the window and that it worked more slowly than the tech would have liked, and I was impressed with their honesty. And they said the repair was warrantied for 2 years. The price was reasonable for such quick service-heck, I'd have paid more since there's no way I could park anywhere and leave the window down!! Very much recommend this place!! read more

Clark works the front desk, and he and the staff have taken good care of me, and my 2004 Trail Blazer with high miles for the last 4 years....I truly value having Clark at this store, because if, or when he leaves, I will look for something closer to my home. Repairs and maintenance is not always cheap, but I like my vehicle, and I trust Clark....Appointments important for sure, but always ask questions, because Clark will shoot straight with you. Advisory: The reason this AAA shop has such good reviews is because the people who work in marketing and legal at AAA of Arizona are very good at getting most of the negative reviews removed from Yelp. Based on my personal experience, this shop offers the poorest possible customer service and over-priced repairs, and should probably be avoided except in an emergency situation. I have to believe that most of the reviews displayed by Yelp for this shop have been written by employees and their friends and family, because my experience here couldn't have been more different from the glowing reports here on Yelp. I'd love to share my experience, but predictably my original review of this business was deleted out of "privacy concerns" according to Yelp. Yeah right, "privacy concerns" in the review of an auto repair shop. Does that make any sense at all? More like AAA legal and marketing doing their dirty work. read more

Do not take your vehicle here! I had a completely opposite experience with Clark and the repair shop than other users. I originally took my car to the dealership to have it repaired. The dealership told me they could have it repaired the same day for $450; however, I decided to try contacting AAA to get a quote. AAA quoted me $280 saying they could get my car from the dealership that Friday and have it done the following Monday. On Monday, I called multiple times and they continued to say it would be finished in 20 minutes and they would call me back. Each time I never received a return phone call from them and had to contact them. Eventually, they told me there was an additional part they were having difficulty tracking down; however, they were able to get it and it would be done first ting the following day. However, it would now cost $470. I expressed my disappointment and they offered to see what they could do to adjust the price. The following morning I talked to Clark who told me my car would be ready in 20 minutes. I called back 20 minutes later and was told it would take another 10 - 15 minutes max and he would call me once it was completed to send a shuttle. Thirty minutes later and I still hadn't heard back so I called again. I was told 10 minutes and I would receive a call as they were trying to track down the shuttle driver; however, my car was ready. I decided to cab to the shop to get my car so I could make it to work on time. When I got the shop I was told my car still had to be test driven and I wouldn't be ready for some time. End of the day, this shop ended up costing the same as the dealership would have and took an additional 3 days. Clark continued to lie about the timing of the repair and ultimately that my car was ready to be picked up when it was not. You cannot trust their timing, price quotes or customer service. The shops slogan is "One time, On Time, Courteous, Honest Repair".... what a joke. read more

I brought my car in for an oil change and they tried to sell me a lot of work that didn't need to be done. AAA wanted to change the cabin filter for $50. It was done one year ago and the car has only been driven 5,000 miles. AAA wanted to change the brake fluid. Again, this was done one year ago and when I went back to the dealer, they said it didn't need to be done with only 5,000 miles on the car. AAA said the tires were "wearing funny" and should be rotated. New tires were bought one year ago and there was 5,000 miles on them. I went to the tire store and told them AAA told me the tires were "wearing funny". They told me there was nothing wrong with the tires. AAA wanted to perform "throttle body / induction service". I went to the dealer and asked them about it and they asked me if I had been having problems with the car. I said no and their response was this service didn't need to be done because of the low mileage on the car and there were no problems to indicate the need for such service. AAA also wanted to flush the transmission fluid. The dealer said I should change the transmission fluid within a year, but it was not needed immediately like AAA said. I had heard that AAA Auto Repair was reputable and trustworty. My experience leads me to think differently. The dealer said they probably recommended all of these service items because they were "money makers" and could be done in a short period of time. Anyone who takes their car to AAA Auto Repair needs to keep in mind that the service recommended may not be necessary and to get a second opinion before going ahead with the work. read more

I want to preface this by saying I have been a very satisfied AAA member for years. AAA has always been there for me. I have recommended them to countless people over the years. I agree with other reviewers: Clark is great. Since June I have spent about $1500.00 in this shop for repairs. However, I now beleive I am being scammed. I had an oil change and my car began leaking oil. I went back and was told what the problem was with a cost of about $550.00. I decided to get a second opinion so I took my car to a trusted friend and mechanic to have him assess it for me. I went back to AAA the following day and asked them to check it again to make sure they diagnosed the problem accurately. They couldn't be sure so they decided to put dye in it. It was agreed I would go back in two days and let them check it again. Jerrod the mechanic gave me his diagnosis which matched my friends' assessment. However, when I was handed my estimate the problem wasn't listed on the paper work. My estimate was for a total of $2593.33! I left the shop and went to another shop in the area. They diagnosed it in agreement with the mechanic and my friend. Total cost: $1095.16. I then decided to take it to another AAA repair shop. They diagnosed the problem in agreement with the others. Total cost: $1,300.00. I have spent a number of sleepless nights trying to decide what to do. I am hoping AAA will want to see my paper trail and hear my story. I cannot go back to this shop until this matter is resolved. If AAA can't resolve it I will file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office. read more

Have had 2 bad experiences with this company. After a routine 60.000 miles check up at this company we were told that the brakes needed fixing. This was immediately scheduled at the same place. After rearranging our schedule for that day- and leaving the car there as prearranged we got a call around 10.00 am to pick up the car- there was nothing wrong with the brakes. Second example: Calling this garage to have an appointment to have a problem diagnosed was told to bring the car in the following day. Again rearranged the schedule and again problems- Two elderly guys at the front desk discussing their extreme workload to the point of leaving the customers waiting. And when they finally turned their attention to the job- rolling of eyes. Too much work today- too many cars - too much to do. I offered to reschedule and was left for 10 min while they were discussion how to schedule when it was so busy. I may add that they were 4 people in the office and nobody was attending cars for the extended time I had to wait for a new appointment. The two sour prunes should retire so people who want to work could actually do the job. I cannot believe that this is backed by AAA. We are looking for another garage with staff who actually want to schedule and help customers. read more

Incredible customer service!! I recently purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2011 Mercedes Benz SLK 350 from a MB dealer in Omaha. Although I had the car inspected at a AAA-recommended facility in Omaha, I was unable to make this trip, and therefore, I purchased the vehicle After receiving shipment of the vehicle, I wanted to get a second opinion from a AAA Auto Repair Center in Phoenix, and AAA was offering a 36 point inspection, brake inspection, and battery inspection at no cost until September 30th. I decided to make an appointment and have the car checked out. I was extremely pleased with the professionalism of the office and service staff. They were extremely helpful and caring, and very thorough. In fact, the service manager sat down with me in the customer waiting area to go over their inspections and findings. The entire process was very efficient, and I know that whenever I need warranty service, I will take my car to AAA Auto Repair. read more
