Deborah was extremely disrespectful in her body language and tone when i came into this location to add a vehicle onto my policy, her first response was,"why didnt i do this over the phone?" As if she didnt want to help or as if she had something better to be doing, now when i come into a location where i am a member at and have a policy with already with multiple vehicles to be treated with respect, and to be helped with whatever i need or whatever problems i have with my policy. AAA is not a cheap provider, and to be dealing with reps that are rude or dont want to be working is out of line. I also noticed her demeanor was loud and as if she was annoyed working there and didnt want to be there and this is just from her responses with coworkers, and over the phone. Dealing with good paying customers you should be treating the public with respect. I would recommend avoiding this location or if you are forced to come here, then avoiding Deborah. read more

What a waste of time. I don't understand how this place can offer DMV services and be completely lost on how to provide DMV services. All I wanted to do was was replace my license plate. Seems simple enough right? I wanted to order the black legacy plates. No one in there could help me. We were basically trying to figure it out together and then the customer service rep finally told me she couldn't help me. The manager then told me the same thing and told me I could do it online. I called into the office to ask if they could help with this and I was told over the phone they could. I explained in great detail what I needed. I thought having AAA would be a benefit to me because of the DMV services. This was my first time trying to use the DMV services and it was useless. read more

WOW, I was able to get my passport photos for "FREE" with my AAA membership in just about 15 minutes. Everywhere else I had to pay. The rep greeted me immediately and was very knowledgeable. I always get my car registration here...it's so easy! This was the office that was previously at Hilltop in Richmond. AAA has never let me down!! read more

Absolute trash. 2 out of 4 DMV services employees just sitting there not doing anything while many waited. The woman who greets people and checks them in at the front is extremely rude and unprofessional. They should stick her in the back filing papers or something, not the front face of the business. Much better when they were at Hilltop. The DMV counter was fast and convenient, even with 15 or more people in line. At the new location the workers seem slow, and now you have to sign in and wait to be called. No longer quick and easy. Please go back to the old method. read more

We went there to renew our membership, all we want is to update the card number on file, the branch manager Paul is the worse manager that we encountered he is very unprofessional, rude. until we got upset the way how he talk to us. We decided not to renew our membership and leave, as we walk out the door he followed us he did not stop talking. I will never go back into this branch and decided not to renew our membership. I read some of the reviews but after getting my car smogged thought I would swing by for new tags and see how bad it was. I was met by a very cheerful representative that told me there were 16 people ahead of me and that the wait would be 2 + hours. I wasn't in the mood for that kind of wait. Last night I was watching channel 5 news and learned that there was a DMV kiosk located at the Safeway in El Cerrito. I went in and found it on the west wall nearest San Pablo Ave. It took about 1 1/2 minutes to complete the transaction and walked away with my new tags for the car. First of all. I am not surprised in the least by their 2 star rating at this point. I have been doing business with AAA for over 20 years now. Today I decided, based on the service here, that I will never do business with AAA again. The biggest reason I am no longer doing business with AAA is their employee Charlie, the doorman. He had no business dealing with me at the DMV counter. Yet he interjects himself into an already infuriating situation to only further inflame me. The ladies working the counter, Debra & Christina, were so lost in the process they had me step out of line to fill out the wrong form. Then they ended up sp confused they had to call in Debra the manager. At the end of the day, all I wanted was to do something I was successful in doing at their San Ramon office. I came in here yesterday 12/16/19 to be turned away and treated as if I was a criminal by Troung. With that said, I had to drive all the way back home find all the papers that DMV provided me and bring it back to pinole only for Troung to watch me walk in and all of a sudden he takes his break. The front desk clerk who checked me in thought it was funny by saying "oh, you know how DMV stuff goes hahaha." It wasn't funny at all. I'm then called to be helped by light skin women with brown or hazel eyes. She looks at all the paper work Troung told me to bring back in order to pay the registration and get a moving permit. She tells me "ok, so you can get a moving permit but you will have to pay the fees. But, it will probably be cheaper at DMV casue they may be able to waive the late registration fee so you won't pay as much." She then goes on to tell me the registration is $285. I told her it's fine I'll pay the fee here so I can get the process going with getting the car registered. At this point the look on her face pretty much said I'm going to feed you as much BS as I can so I don't have to deal with all this paperwork. She then tells me, "well I won't be able to help you here anyway being the registration process wasn't completed within the time frame DMV gave you." Why not lead off with that first instead of using a high fee to try and scare me away and then seeing that wouldn't work so, you pretty much just tell me you don't want to do your job so, you send me to DMV. Why even have this service if your going to hire people who don't want to do their job. I pay for the premier every year just to get treated like dirt by your workers. The newly opened CSAAA branch is not organized. After taking off the latest part of Thanksgiving week, the staff returned on Cyber Monday to face a long line of unhappy customers. When we arrived at 11:00 AM, we were told that the wait for DMV services is 1hr and 30 min. I was shocked ! one of the main reasons to use the CSAA facility is to avoid the long and boring wait at DMV. I am physically handicapped and the office does not have enough seating for all customers and no seating area for the handicapped ! but plenty of coffee ! We were told to register at the front desk and get advised by texting when is your turn. Updated text status showed your position in line. When we got back 11/2 hrs. later we were able to find a seat and after waiting a further 15 min. we were called, all in a way worse than DMV. What is happening at the CSAAA these days is strange, messing up constantly is a typical occurrence. Just 10 days before my CEA insurance on my home was notified late and a bill for full payment was requested. I already paid up the policy but CSAAA was not aware of my payment. I had to send a cancelled check to prove my payment. After several calls back and forth CSAAA customer service acknowledged the receipt of the CEA policy payment and in addition admitted an overpayment which was refunded at a later date. I agree that the customer service manager worked hard to solve the problem but it took some time to resolve the issue. The administration office of the CSAAA should take notice of all the problems CSAAA is facing and take corrective action !!! Eugene M. read more

Paul, the "manager", is rude, and doesn't know DMV policy. He knows AAA insurance, which shows by his need to make a sells pitch every time someone walks in. We came in, and he checked us in with a sales pitch, which I declined. We said we were there for a replacement registration sticker, as mine was stolen. He told me I needed a police report case number before they can help me. Confused, I asked what kind of report they needed or who to call, to which Paul (who had cut me off) replied," I don't know, but we need it." Okay...so I called the police department while there, as I had taken a day off work to deal with this and didn't want to wait in line again. After 45 minutes, and a really nice officer, I was able to get a case number. I get up to the desk and she goes," how many plates were stolen?" Come to find out, he put stolen plates in the system, and I DIDN'T NEED THE CASE NUMBER. Paul was behind the desk, and I said," I didn't need a case number," to which he said," I thought you did." And took a call on his headset and walked away...what? What kind of customer service is that? If Paul checks you in, clarify what he put in system, so you don't waste your time.
