Kennith Bohnert (Master technician) and his assistant, Tim did a first class installation. They updated an older Safeguard system. It will work on 4 and 5 G networks now. Best of all it works wonderfully with our cell phones to make arming and disarming the alarm so easy now. Installers were polite, patient and answered all our questions. They made sure everything was working before leaving. I had major trouble with this company when I signed up 2 years ago. They promised me that they fixed the situation and I was happy. Now here I am 2 years later and many phone calls trying to get it to keep working and I still have a doorbell that will not work due to Arizona heat. I really wish someone would have told me the doorbell would never work! I would have spent my hard earned money elsewhere. This is the 2nd one they've installed and it won't work and when I call it is always about an hour call for someone to tell me how to fix it. Now it involves shutting off my power for a couple minutes. This is Arizona and that is not happening! I ask for a supervisor and there is never one to take my call! This company is the worst! Many companies provide security systems but only a few select companies are local and are ready to help with any complications. From the moment we entered the AAA office in Roseville where we were introduced to Shobie we experienced nothing but professional expertise. Shobie explained , the system and then called to tell us of a special sale. Within a week, we had Anthony and Jason who worked hard during this historic heat wave. AAA Smart Home Security took over for a local company and immediately, quality of service went down and costs went up. There were numerous problems with false alarms (including a persistent problem that continually tripped the alarm at around 2am) and many labor charges without results. I would have to disconnect the alarm for weeks at a time, waiting for their service person to come out. After hundreds in labor costs, their solution was to quote a new -- and very expensive - system. They finally admitted that they were not able to offer good customer service, so I cancelled the service in September 2023. Unfortunately, an automated monthly payment was sent after cancellation. I have called the home office in Dallas every month (since that is where I was directed) since September to be reimbursed (which involves up to 60 minutes wait time on their "customer service" line) only to be assured that "the check is in the mail" and "we already sent it" and "it will be taken care of next week". Finally reported the company to the Attorney General Consumer Affairs office and maybe there will be a resolution. read more

I was a customer with Safeguard Alarm in Scottsdale AZ for over 30 years. there customer service was great! Unfortunately Safeguard was purchased AAA Smart Home. I upgraded services about 6 months ago. All went well after a problematic installation where a second person had to come out fix what the first screwed up. Customer service is sketchy at best but today 10/30/20 it is terrible. Three phone calls all disconnected after 20 minutes and before I could get to schedule a service repair for an alarm malfunction. Don't waste your time or energy with this company which is not registered with the Better Business Bureau. read more

I am SO very frustrated with trying to obtain help from Tech Support. After being on hold, for a very long time, the rep helped resolve the issue - or so he thought. Not even 10 minutes later, the same error code and beeping continued. I have now spent 2 hours trying to get back to tech support and am still on hold. Our Yale door lock was installed by AAA by the first technician, it did not function properly. The technician said he is not a lock smith and could not do anything: the latch was hitting the frame, we were still charged for the poorly installation. I complained to AAA they sent out a new technician named Kenzo, he was amazing he new exactly what to do and explained to us what was going on. he apologized for the first technician installation mistake in not fixing the problem we were having. Thank you Kenzo for taking the stress of our plate every time we had to leave our house through the front door because the door would not lock. read more

As part of my package, I purchased smart thermostat. The technician said that the smart thermostat I was sold by AAA smart home was not compatible with the main control panel and that someone would come out the next day with the correct smart thermostat. No one came, no one called. I called this morning and it turns out the tech forged my signatuire stating that the work had been completed. Further, I would have to contact sales to purchase a new thermostat. Avoid these guys. read more

Manuel handled my install today, couldn't ask for a better service. Came right on time , went over my purchase order before installing and gave me a heads up with the amount of time it would take. I had a lot of questions and didn't want to seem like I was overwhelming but Manuel was great with answering all my questions and helping me understand the system. Let me start by saying that AAA Smart Home Security is the ONLY way to go!!! My alarm.com system crashed on Friday at 3:30pm. I panicked and called the 800 number. All agents were busy. I'm still freaking out, until I got Christy. She spent over an hour with me and was finally able to get our system back up and running by 6pm. AAA Security could not provide us with a working doorbell. we cancelled our service. They sent collections to obtain a $338 past due bill for equipment. My husband and I are both veterans. I am 100% disabled. We reached out to BBB for assistance. They accepted the complaint but said AAA would not backdown from the charges. I told the BBB that we are both seniors (74 and 73) and I felt we were being taken advantage of ---we went for four months without a doorbell because AAA couldn't give us a working one. AAA Security sent it to collections rather than telling us in advance. very poor business practices! read more

We've had an alarm system on our SF Bay Area home since 1994. When AAA took over the monitoring contract, I worked with them to figure out how to upgrade my system so I could take advantage of their latest technology as well as the AAA member discount. I worked with several people at AAA to make this happen. From Leta in the sales office (who discussed and quoted options for me) to Wilfred (who came out to evaluate my original hardware) to Christina (who scheduled the installations) to Gentry (who installed the updated hardware)...all were professional, friendly, and helpful. All those who came to our home were well prepared for and respectful of proper COVID-19 protocol (masks, shoe covers, physical distancing). Once the installation was complete, Gentry gave us a quick hands-on tour of the system (which is very simple to use) and answered all of our questions. Overall a good experience. I would not recommend this security system to anyone. I have had the most difficult experience with them. I have had multiple issues with my cameras not recording, changing my door code, etc. Getting ahold of tech support is the most difficult thing to do, I either get hung up on or not called back. Now I am stuck with a poor security system I have paid thousands for and nobody will help me. Very unfortunate because I am a very loyal AAA customer. read more

Loved that they showed up in a mask and tech was thorough from start to finish. Blong walked us through set up and installed it without a hitch. Both technicians provided knowledgeable answers to our questions and concerns. This system is complete what we've been wanting and now it's available through AAA Smart Home. Side note: Plan for installation to take up most of the day. If you have school aged kids at home, they will need access to the rooms. Not a big deal for us. AAA Smart Home From 5 Stars to 1 AAA Smart Home acquired Safeguard Security several months back. I had been with Safeguard for almost 20 years and never had an issue. I don't know what AAA did to the Safeguard business model but customer service has gone down the tubes to the point that I had to make a change in alarm companies. After doing my due diligence, I switched my monitoring and service to Alert 360 and I am completely happy. I would suggest you do your own research before using AAA Smart Home. We switched over from ADT to AAA. I already had AAA for my car and house insurance, and they were offering a much lower monthly rate all while offering a lot more services. The customer service representative on the phone was very helpful and thorough in explaining how the change will happen, when, and the costs. There were no hidden fees. The technicians that came out: Tarek, Jason and Anthony were amazing. They got the job done quickly and effectively. Tarek really took the time to make sure we understood our new system. If I could give them a zero rating I would. I purchased this service and equipment several months ago. On October 5, 2023, I had a fire at my house and it was a complete loss. On top of loosing everything I owned almost, I had to worry about paying a monthly payment for the service. The only option that AAA Smart Home Security provided me was to pay off the equipment that burned and pay whatever else was owed. There was no empathy for the distress that I was going through or any offer to deduct any part of the equipment costs. I have been a AAA member since 2005. When I found out that AAA also provided home security, I immediately requested a quote after purchasing a new home. I spoke with J. Aikens, Sales Consultant, and she was professional and courteous. She understood my needs and did not use any pushy sales tactics. When the installers came to my house in the Bay Area California, they were polite and efficient in their work. During COVID-19, they wore masks, gloves, and shoe coverings which I thought was good. After installation, they made sure I knew how to use the devices, including their A3 Smart Home App. I would definitely recommend AAA Smart Home to my friends and family, especially if they are AAA members already. Now that I reported a more detailed review I thought it's time to update as things progressed: 1. Honesty : I give A3 smart homes less than one at the conclusion of our installation I signed technician tablet and when it was sent to my email as PDF FORMAT for my records the contract mysteriously changed to us that showed lack of honesty and integrity and even though the company through its own investigation to my knowledge admitted to the mistake but also inadvertently admitted in the companies responses to these reviews but yet failed to make good on promises ! 2. Customer service = less than 1 Star The company made comments and failed to honor them but instead elected at its sole discretion and expense and out of spite for these negative reviews in our opinion came to our home and removed all its equipment! 3. Security: less than 1 Star during the 30 days or so while we where connected we had several alarm events and NO ONE called us at all making us believe we would have paid for monitoring but yet NO ONE WAS actually monitoring! Making us in our opinion believe that this company again are dishonest and a BIG SCAM! I give A3 smart homes less than 1 star and please don't be a victim of their deceptive business practices! Stay away and look elsewhere!! I wish we did and you find out that in our after this event research found out that A3 smart homes didn't even make the top 10 in smart homes reviews and AAA bought out another company called Safe Security that had bad reviews and probably retained their horrible employees so please stay away and be warned! Called AAA Smart Home to make an adjustment in an earlier install. Motion detector needed to be relocated to operate more efficiently. Installer Ezra Holmes phoned ahead on the morning call, arrived promptly on time and quickly completed his work. Going beyond his invoiced instructions, he also corrected another malfunctioning part, reprogrammed it, and cleaned up all wall damage with putty. Nice work Ezra. read more

AVOID this company!! We were Safeguard customers before they were bought by this company. Terrible company for existing customers. They bounce you between departments when you need help. Our equipment is old and we were looking to upgrade to new equipment with new features. Never got any call backs when we reached out to sales. So I stopped trying. Then the company called me not because I had reached out but instead it was because my equipment is on 3G and they are not going to support it anymore so they said I had to pay them hundreds of $$ to come out and install new basic equipment and that they would have to rip out all my existing sensors for the new control panel. I asked if someone could talk me through the new equipment because I was interested in more features than what we have today. They said they would have someone call me, but again I never got a call back. Who knew how lucky I am that they never bothered to call me back. I've now spent time reading other reviews and it's sad to see how long they have been receiving one star reviews from existing customers (showing you that in a couple of years they couldn't fix the problems that have made it such a bad customer experience)...it's a good thing I'm becoming a FORMER customer. dont buy this system. I got it in 2021 and after one year system started failing. I have been on calls with tech support numerous times. then when I moved I had them come install it they charged 125/ hour. they sent an untrained tech. he was on phone the whole time installing and they charge me for almost 4 hours. original installer took about 1 hour with twice as much sensors and work. AAA pretty much told me too bad. they are not about helping customers. the tech even put sensor wrong so if someone open window or door alarm wouldn't go off because it would see sensors are still in closed. I had to go through whole system to check the guys work. i can go on and on abou all the problem with this system. after I pay it off I will leave. sucks because I just threw away over 1000 dollars on junk. read more

once we got the camera to work, the fire alarm goes off all times day and night but no reason nobody's cooking. Nobody's even taking a shower and the best I could come up with was to bypass it and the red light blank so they just advised me to take the batteries out once my contract time is up I'm done, the alarm went off eight different times in the middle of the night in the middle of the day read more
