This is honestly one of my favorite places to eat. When I doubt, I pick Aab. The service is fine at worst (when they're busy) and amazing at best. I wish I could recommend a variety of foods from the menu but I literally order the same thing every time I'm here. Mango lassi (delicious and not sickly sweet like a few other spots I've been to), paneer bhatura and garlic naan, saag paneer. The breads are always so, so good. Their rice is my favorite rice, and the saag paneer has never let me down. This was the first time I've ever tried Indian food and I certainly came to the right place! The menu is full of options and no matter what you order you get a ton of food! You can order any dish based on their hotness scale, 1-6. However I'm not a fan of spicy food at all so they let me order a 0 and it was perfect! I went with the chicken tikka marsala and it was amazing! So buttery and creamy and their rice complimented it perfectly. We also went with the beef naan and it was delicious. We came at 9pm on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded at all! The restaurant itself is pretty small, but they do have a long bar and outdoor seating as well. The food came out quickly and they did a great job timing it so we could finish our appetizers before the entree came out. The lunch buffet at Aab is delicious! We had never had Indian food at a restaurant before. So we thought trying Aab during lunch when we could choose a variety from their lunch buffet would be perfect. We walked in the door and we were immediately greeted by a friendly host that quickly walked us to an available table. There was no pomp and circumstance. We were poured a water each and then basically left on our own. We assumed we could just help ourselves to a plate at the buffet, so we did. I made sure take take a little of almost everything. To really experience the food and hopefully find a few go to dishes for the next time we go back and have dinner. I tasted so many wonderful things such as the veggie pakora, chicken pakora, mixed vegetables, shrimp curry, chicken tikka, chicken makhani, and nan. It was all so delicious. So full of flavor. So many spices. Though I do believe that Aab tames down the spice to please the masses during the lunch buffet, but everything was still delicious. Now I know when we go back what we will definitely be ordering from the menu. I think we both loved the shrimp curry the most, but the chicken makhani was also delicious. Just the right level of spice, the saag was a bit oily for my taste, but it was perfect when complemented with rice. Only thing was that I needed it to be vegan, and there was no way to tell if the menu items were vegan online. Luckily I asked the staff when I went in, and they gladly remade it vegan. Their fish is fresh and cooked to perfection (I prefer the Mahi Mahi over the salmon, but both are quite good.) Everything I've tried has been wonderful. Fish Saag, Fish Curry, and Fish Vindaloo are our favorites. If you are not sure about trying Indian food, start with the Aloo Choley - a potato dish with flavor but not spicy. Our dinner at Aab was delicious and our waitress Lili was the sweetest! I ordered the mango mojito to start which was perfect and not too strong. We got the mixed platter appetizer which I would recommend as a way to try out small portions of different appetizers from the menu. We also got the chicken tandoori, lamb curry, and saag paneer, with rice and garlic naan on the side. I would highly recommend the saag paneer and the lamb curry. Indian lunch buffet on a weekend is hard to find but it exists at Aab's on Grandview. While it's available ($11.50 each), the offerings are limited in selection and flavor. The only meat on the buffet table was chicken, though it came in at least 6 various dishes. Too bad 3-4 of the dishes tasted just about the same in that same orange colored curry sauce. No lamb or goat here. And they do have Tandoori chicken, but the flavor is weak. Very limited salad and dessert items (sweets were rice pudding and the fried dough balls soaking in syrup......no mango ice cream). The highlight of the buffet were these deep-fried potato nuggets and the fresh naan. Too bad the naan tray was not replenish with any frequency. The veggie entrees (3....cauliflower, beans, and spinach) were ok but hard dishes to mess up. I have been at this place multiple times, since the time it started. Its a very well version of Americanized Indian food. So I might be biased , if I have to give my true opinion as per Indian food. But on the other hand, u need to make food based on your clientage. Its a very mild and refined version of Indian food. The cuisine is from Northern part of India. The curries have creamy texture and oven baked breads go well with these. I have tried Chicken Tikka Masala, Aaloo channa, Kofta curry, Fried fish and found the taste decent. Not sure if they take reservation but the place is always packed. Parking is also tricky. Street parking is available and during evening bank parking across street can also be used. Came during restaurant week. I highly recommend it if you've never had Aab because for $15 you get a lot of delicious food! The restaurant week menu is typically the same every time so I posted a picture. I had the veggie pakora but the chicken ones are good too. Garlic naan is the only option, why waste your time on anything else?? I typically order chicken tikka masala. It's a creamy sauce that kind of reminds me of a vodka sauce you would get with pasta. This time I ordered it medium hot (range goes from mild to extreme hot). However, my order wasn't spicy at all. My guess is the waitress misheard my order because I've never had that issue before. Dip your naan in the sauce :) As I'm sure every other review says, GO FOR THE LUNCH BUFFET. The deals here are fantastic. read more

I hate writing this review but it's a must. I've ordered from here probably 5 times before today's order. Each time it was good to great. Today I ordered food for delivery and wrote no raisins or cashews. Low and behold it had both of those in my butter chicken. So I couldn't eat it. My husband comes home from work and I warm it up for him because he's not allergic to it like I am. Well the tandoori roti had a piece of plastic in it. Like holy shit. I was going to let the ignoring my allergies go, but the plastic was ridiculous. He got lucky it ripped into it where he did and actually saw it. Today was the last time we ordered from here. Now this is what I'm talking about! I am in love with Aab! Even in California, it isn't easy to stumble upon a really great Indian restaurant with great naan. Frankly, I've had better experiences while I was over in Japan where we had some great chefs from South Asia making their food. However, Aab here in little Columbus has impressed me by far! The restaurant is very chic and upscale. There's a full bar inside with plenty of dining tables and an excellent atmosphere for dates, meetings etc. Once we were seated, we were greeted by our lovely waitress who was nothing but helpful in helping us decide what to order. I ordered the chicken tikka masala ($13) with a side of garlic naan ($4) with a 4/6 spicy level, which was perfect as it added a quick without completely burning my mouth. The buttery, tomato curry was delicious and there was a generous amount of chicken inside. Mmm... one of the best I've had in the States! The real winner here was the naan, which was VERY reminiscent of what I had and loved in Japan. Large, giant fluffy pieces to eat with the curry... YUM! I usually don't find this kind of naan in LA so I am happy Aab was able to provide that for me. The only real drawback I'd give is the price, which is a bit steep for Indian curry in my opinion. But aside from that, I love this place and am happy that my friend at OSU was able to introduce me to it. Parking is available on the street or in the lot across the way. read more

Unfortunately, my experience wasn't great with the food. I would give it 2.5 stars if I had the option. We came here on a weekday for the lunch buffet. Although, in my opinion lunch buffet is not the true measure of an Indian restaurant, since they make most of the curries and vegetables mild for everyone to savor! There were only 2 veg dishes and a dal where as there were 4 non veg entrées. I thought they could have replaced the 'egg bhurji' and made that dish vegetarian for more choices. The saag paneer had a lot of cream. All the food lacked hot spices, including dal and it felt far from being Indian food for me. The dessert, 'Kheer' was good. The service was good and prompt. The ambience was good and it was a big restaurant. Being an Indian, I would recommend people who want " Indian food" to stay away from here for the buffet. I hate to give 3 stars. But I wasn't impressed! I came on Sunday just a little past noon for the lunch buffet with my family. We got seated quickly. There were tons of open tables. It was mostly families in here. The buffet had a lot of options: vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Saag, chicken tikka, goat, tandoori chicken, and other things. Like others, I thought the food was bland. Nothing was great at all or worth me returning. The saag didn't taste right and the chicken tikka was absolutely disappointing. My family was pretty displeased as well. It seems like an Americanized version of Indian food. Maybe that's why the food tasted different? Service was good and I did like that they had strawberries there. The space was clean and looked very nice though. Still, the food was just alright. My friend has been for dinner and liked what she ordered since it wasn't buffet. I'm interested to try other things but I'm not sure if I'll make much of an effort. read more
