I called and went to a TON of other metal shops, machine shops, NO ONE had or was willing to sell me aluminum shavings (I was willing to take any type of metal, just needed shavings). I almost gave up until I called Aaron's, he is a LIFESAVER & SO amazingly nice!!!!! He definitely worked with me and not only that he had such good prices for the shavings.. which he ended up giving me for FREE since it was a small amount!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well this may be one of the only places of recycle of metal but want you to beware...If you come up to the weighmaster looking like you may not be too savy or are a woman...know that he will probably pay you as little as possible. They advertise .30 a lb but will try to pay you less...but the big issue is that they try to reduce to a net commodity.. Am told the last amount was 1000 lbs and were paid over $300...same kind of shipment. I was a novice , a woman and doing this for someone else, that has always been paid correctly. (not a woman and certainly not as trusting.) We should have been paid $229. and instead paid $80.00...He reduced the weight rom 764 to 356 and paid between .20-.25cents. Said the economy was bad and that was all they could pay.. There was very little reason to adjust and can see adjusting some but send your men...or your savy women...is a terrible area so be careful. read more

Yeah this IS as good as it gets! My first time with some scrap copper and aluminum. I thought it was going to be able $30 worth, but I walked out of there with a receipt for $294! Shocking! They didn't pay on the spot but said they'd mail a check. Not sure why some get case and some don't. Incredible beehive of activity there. A little intimidating for the first time. But all you do is drive up, there is a person at the entrance that jots down your license plate number and gives it to you and tells you where to go. You simply open up your doors and wait for THEM to unload your vehicle. You don't have to do anything except stand there and wait. When they're done, they'll have you go up on the dock and the weighmaster will want your license and the slip of paper with your plate number on it. That's it. Just a note that they WILL take copper even if it's got mixed material on it. They just pay you about 50 cents less per pound. Current prices as of today were: 70 cents clean aluminum, $3.35 copper, $3.20 mixed copper, $2.25 copper house wire. read more

Legit as can be! The only recycling center I've ever trusted. They weigh the truck and double check the pallets, off load the material while you can sit back and enjoy a beer. They have cameras everywhere and are very honest. Not to mention they paid more than anyone else in area!!! read more

I came here a few months ago and they told me I had to wait 3 days which is fine but he said the next time I come back I wouldn't have to wait anymore so today I came back and they said I still had to wait for 3 days even though I could have gone down the street from my house and got it today on Davis Street the guy in charge of giving you your money can pick and choose who he wants to give it to my suggestion is never to come here again and go to Davis Street at least he'll pay you that day. Five stars across the board. I have used most of the metal companies in the bay and hands down Aaron Metals is the best. The facility is clean, the staff is very friendly, the owners are always making sure the customer comes first and the best highest dollar is paid out. Being a regular corporate account includes having a variety of special needs- the pickup location and type of metals changes ticket by ticket. We always know that the highest amount will be paid without asking. Special Items - make sure you identify what you have and they will test it right there insure both parties get the highest payout. The integrity of Aarons Metal is above board - we have pre-weighed hundreds of lbs of items only to find their numbers were exactly or just higher than our anticipated payout. We also have tested other facilities only to find their bin or tare weights are way off - so the scale is correct but the bin the items being weighed in are incorrect giving an advantage to the metal company. If you want to receive service quality and a clean place to go take a minute to go over *not just call on the phone* to Aarons - hopefully you will be as impressed as me. If you are new to the metal scrapping ask some questions - ask to speak to a manager so they can explain how you can get the highest value out of the metal. read more

If you have been to other recycling places, you realize how good this place is. I was in-and-out in 10 minutes. A parking attendant shows you where to park. Two employees immediately greeted me and unloaded the pipe. The stuff was weighed and paid in five more minutes. And, to boot, they pay more than the recycling place in Concord. I'd give them 5 stars if they would provide containers and let me sort my metal in them. The guys with the wheelbarrows always take my red brass/bronze and throw it with the brass which pays less. Aaron Metals is absolutely the best place in the Bay Area , if you are looking to get rid of any type of scrap metal. They pay top prices guaranteed, trust me I have shopped around at many different places. I have personally dealt with them since I started scrapping , years ago. Everyone is very professional, courteous, helpful, and honest. Keep in mind that they would not be in business and thriving , if they were in any way rude or dishonest. Regardless of race , age , gender , or anything else imaginable , they treat everyone with the same degree of respect. Some people get bent out of shape if they don't get paid immediately that day. Understand that they are following California law , and can't release immediate payment until the products you bring in are vouched for. There are many thieves out there that break into our construction sites and vacant buildings . They steal all of the copper piping, electrical wiring, and any other metals that are worth money. It is for this reason California passed the 3 day waiting period law. I personally think it's great , it offers up a chance to catch the people responsible and makes some think twice before breaking laws. So think of it as an insurance policy for the honest. One other thing I want to clear up. When you bring metals in to sell , your metals are separated and put into large steel rolling carts or wheel barrows. Now all of these containers they put your metals into have been previously weighed , and they weight of them often clearly marked on the side of the container. Some of these carts weigh hundreds of pounds. When your materials are weighed along with the container , they have to deduct the weight of each container your metals are in. They obviously can't pay you for the total weight , cart included. All of these carts and other containers were weighed and marked when they were brand new. You actually gain weight from all of the dirt and other debris left in the carts from previous people. I challenge anyone to weigh your materials before you bring them in , I will eat my words if they are in any way dishonest. So for someone to say they are getting ripped off is completely absurd. I know it may be confusing to some people , but it makes complete sense. Remember that shady business practices put people out of business. Aaron Metals would not exist if they operated like that. Right when you get there you have a worker directing you where to park and when you park they also tell you where to go and everything to recycle whatever it is you got. If you don't have an et card you will have to wait 3 days but other than that they are very reliable. read more
