I encountered Aaron Pools through my Home Warranty- Old Republic. I received a call after I submitted in my "claim" and they were able to schedue with 48 hours. The day prior to the repair visit, I had a lady call to give me the time window. Our tech was on time, professional and courteous. He did an exceptional job and explained each step to us and was able to show where the leak was, why the equipment was loud (motor had to be rebuilt) and provide thorough explanation. I am very happy with their work and the professionalism and expertise that they demonstrated yesterday! For all the work that was done, I paid my deductible and possibly changed who will maintain my pool for the future. read more

October 2016: If I could give them -100 stars I would (fraud, deceit, liars, see below). My pool had turned green and I had asked my pool company to look into the problem. My pool guy stated that it was due to the pop up gear assembly needing to be replaced, as well as an issue in filtration (most likely grids needing to be replaced). Since I have a home warranty (AHS) and the grids would be covered under the warranty, I called AHS and they sent out Aaron Pools. By the way, before I get into the details, based off a friend who used to do warranty work, the more times the company is able to "turn down" work (i.e. say it's a separate issue and/or not covered), the higher that company is on the list to be called (this alone will make me not renew my contract with AHS, on top of the "companies" they send out). So their "technician" Bailey comes out and fixes the gear assembly, but tells me that there are nothing wrong with the grids. I find this funny, because that would mean that my pool guy was lying to me. I'm not suspicious of my own pool guy, so I ask him to check the filtration system (DE). He takes photos and shows me the issues, 7 of the 8 grids have major rips and need to be replaced, AND the plastic inlet on the bottom are cracked. Not only is there no way that Aaron Pools could have missed this, my pool guy said it did not look like "Bailey" even opened it up to check. I called up Aaron Pools, hoping to speak to a manager or owner about Bailey, to let him know that their employee was literally committing fraud. The "secretary" I spoke to stated that the Owner was the Manager, and he only worked in the field. I asked her if I could send her some photos so that he could be made aware that one of his employees was falsely turning down claims, and she stated that she had no way to get them the photos. What??? In 2016, how can you not send a text or email with photos to your boss. I told her I wanted to show him proof, and she said she believed me and they'd be out to fix (leading me to believe that this is not the first time this has happened). Three days later who do they send out again, good ol' Bailey (you would think, since their website shows 9 people listed and they are a "family owned and operated business," that not only would they send out a different technician, but would offer me an apology, but you know what assuming does). Bailey comes out, says he has to order parts, and will be a week before all the parts come in. I ask him if he is going to fix the parts he does have so that the pool pump can run, and he states that there is no way he's putting it together and then taking it apart again. Sigh, great customer service. Anyways, the next week Bailey says that he tried getting the grids in, but they don't seem to fit, so he's going to have to come back with a different technician (well it's about time). Apparently they fixed it the next day, because I never heard from them again. Of course they did leave all of their trash (old grids and the giant cardboard box that the new grids came in). Not once did I hear from a manager or get an apology. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more

I'm only giving Aaron Pools one star because I can't give them zero. My landlord hired them several months ago and my pool has never looked worse while we've had them. They don't always come on the scheduled day and then don't notify me when they wont be there, and just come unannounced on an unscheduled day. When I call and leave a message requesting a call back, they never return my call. Super unhappy with their "service". Horrible horrible. Look elsewhere! read more

I have to say after all of the negative reviews I read on here, I was scared for Aaron pools to be the servicing company for my home warranty claim. I had a leaking pool pump, and they were awesome. They came right out and said it would be covered under my home warranty. I asked them about upgrading to a variable speed pump. And they were very accommodating. They took the price of the repair off of the new pump installation price. Very professional and a great company to deal with. read more

I can't speak to the service because they didn't actually repair our pool pump. The problem was the warranty was going to cover the claim, and no one from the pool place or the warranty place to inform us. When I contacted the pool place and recommended that in the future they at the least alert homeowners that they will be hearing from the warranty company about it the representative just outright lied to me and said she spoke to someone "identifying as the homeowner." I know this isn't true because she did not speak to me or my husband, and we are the homeowners. Also my husband said the technician that checked out the pool was very unprofessional. read more

Very disappointed. Home warrranty company utilizes this pool service; it's not who I would personally choose. Company took a week to get out to my home. Tech claimed he fixed the problem, collected payment and was gone within a half hour. One week later, same problem with pump, check was deposited and paid and now I have to call to deal with them again. Not a happy customer. read more

My warranty company sent these guys out to service my pool pump. The dude with really bad facial piercings brought his kid AGAIN, because he had to return, because he didn't do the job the first time. When I told him that he can't be leaving his kid alone in my back yard next to my pool, he got attitude and screamed at me. He also didn't lock the gate, both times. When I called to report this to the head office, the manager 'Mandy' didn't apologize, showed absolutely no empathy and had the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Leaving a CHILD next to a POOL THAT YOU ARE WORKING ON is a HAZARD and can cause serious legal ramifications! What is wrong with people?! And when I asked 'do you allow your employees to bring their kids on jobs?' She said 'I don't know'. Some manager. This guy was the WORST. When I brought up not locking my gate last time (I tell everyone who services the pool to do so) he argued with me. Instead of just apologizing and moving on. Don't use these guys. I had a home warranty claim and I told them to have technician call me 15-20 minutes out so I could be there for the repair. They told me her would that was on Thursday. I called on Monday to verify that the technician would call me, they said yes. I wake up today and am waiting for a call. I decide to call the office and they inform me that the technician was there and already left. I said, "he was supposed to call." The lady replied, "well he looks like he didn't." I wanted to be there and they assured me I would get a call. That is unacceptable .. can't even make a phone call. I will make sure that Aaron pools doesn't get my business if I ever make a warranty claim. Absolutely unacceptable !! I have heard that they don't don't do repairs with brand new parts amongst other things, and when they don't call me to let me know so I can meet them makes me wonder if they are doing some shady stuff. Horrible company. I have had the same experience as many other customers who were referred to this company by their home warranty company (I have Fidelity National Home Warranty). My pool pump was not working 60 days ago--they came out and gave me the option of installing a rebuilt pump motor with a 30 day warranty or, for and additional $100, a brand new pump motor. I agreed to the second option, paid the $100, and they installed the new motor. Now the pump motor is leaking like crazy so I called Aaron and the rude and condescending woman I talked to said that labor is only covered for 30 days, they will not come out and look at it, and I need to open a new issue with my home warranty company. I told her that the warranty company will charge me another $80 service fee and she told me that is not their problem. This company obviously does not want any return business--they are looking for quick money from the warranty companies, they do cr@ppy work, don't care about their previous customers, and then move on to the next sucker who is unfortunately referred to them by their home warranty company. Note to the wise: if you have a home warranty, ask them to send out any pool service company BUT Aarons! read more

I went through home warranty to get my spa fixed - it continued to trip my breaker. The technician was very knowledgeable and let me know immediately what the issue was. There was replacement parts required and I was quoted a fair price and quick turnaround time. AJ was my technician, the company gave me a reminder call the day before the appointment with a 2 hour window. AJ called at the front end of that window the day of the appointment and let me know he was 20 minutes out. He was great to work with and showed me more about my spa than what I knew. Aarons came out and did home warranty work back in July because the pump wasn't pumping properly. The tech said it was the filter. A week later they replaced filter. Same issue was occurring(it was obviously not the filter) they came back out and said it was the pump, replaced the pump a few days later. They plumbed the new pump over the pre-filter basket, now it is hard to access said basket. Then pool creepy wasn't working very well. Took creepy to another pool store and had maintenance done on it twice, still doesn't work right. Finally figured out why. There is an air leak in the plumbing somewhere. Aarons refuses to come back out until we get our home warranty company to authorize. Home warranty company wants $100 trade fee for Aarons to come back out and fix their mistake. I am not paying a trade fee for them to come back out to fix something they didn't do correctly. I will never use Aaron Pools again, I would not recommend them, and I would rather pay a new pool service to fix their mistakes than give them another red cent. read more

I'd like to warn anyone using Aaron Pools through their home warranty company to ensure that they check with their home warranty company first before they allow Aaron's pool rep to complete any work. The rep came to our home because our pool pump motor stopped working. The rep installed a new pump before they cleared it with the home warranty company and informed me what would be covered. We were billed $900 for the pump as they refused to tell the home warranty company that they agreed with current state law on pump replacement. While working with my home warranty company to clear up the issue, I received a "20 day intent to lien notice" from Aaron's. Fortunately, my home warranty company had a record of me calling to clarify what would be covered before Aaron's rep called them after he had already installed the pump, so they covered the $900 charge due to an error in pre-authorization on Aaron's part. According to the home warranty rep that I first spoke to, their policy covers the cost of pool pump replacement based on AZ law. Unfortunately, Aaron's doesn't agree with that law, so they wouldn't file the proper claim for the pump. Trying to work with Aaron's office staff to rectify the issue was impossible. I even had to request a letter after they were paid by the home warranty company to ensure that they would not file the lien. I will never allow my home warranty company to send Aaron Pools to my home again. read more

Aaron Pools shouldn't be in business. I'm now findind that out the hard way. They have tried to replace items on my pool that work properly, then replaced items that caused more damage. Their tech told me to soak my filter cartridges in a acid /water solution which I have now found damaged my filter, costing me even more in repairs. Stay far away from this company. read more

I really want to like Aaron Pools. I've been with them for a long time but enough is enough. The quality of their cleaning and maintenance is shoddy and lazy in my opinion. I watched their techs stay for no more than 5 minutes. The bottom of my pool floor had visible dirt and the water was cloudy. There has been a lot of turnover in terms of their pool boys. With rare exception, most have been less than stellar. Their front office can be difficult to deal with. I can echo the experiences others have had with the manager and owner. I cannot recommend them. read more

This pool company has been out to our home a handful of times and has made no improvement in the heating system for our pool. They fix one thing at a time instead of looking at the entire unit and what needs to be fixed. After the last time they "fixed" the pool heater it caught on fire! They are horrible! read more

Not sure what pool service should entail but I get inconsistent service. Sometimes they add chlorine tabs, sometimes not, sometimes they sweep, sometimes not. This is a rental house where I hired a professional to maintain my equipment and relieve my tenants of the burden but there is a lack of communication somewhere. Water level dropped to point that it burned up my motor and then they explained their policy about not filling the pool to run up my bill. I want to start out by saying that unfortunately I have had 2 issues with my pool equipment.1 was the back flow valve on my filter so I went thru my Warranty company and they sent Aaron pools to our home. At first the tech was kind of rude but then when he started dealing with my husband his tune changed. On this first issue it still took 3 times coming to my house to get it fixed but the guys got nice and we even fed him dinner. So we were for the most part pleased. Then about a year later another issue arouse so again we call the warranty company and they sent out Aaron pools and the fiasco begins. In 2 days the parts arrive at my house.and the tech is scheduled for that wed. Well I was told they would be there at 7.30-8.30 am and No one ever came. I Called 4 times and was told by the girls on the phone that he was there. I told her I'm the one that's here and no one has stepped foot on my property!!!!. She then said they had to go get parts.I explained to her all parts were delivered here..(I later came to find out he never did come and that he thought he had to go get parts and never ever came to the property) So now that he started the work on Wednesday late afternoon he stated that they had sent the wrong top to the filter and that the supply store is closed. he would be back tomorrow. Well, as you all should know by now that did not happen., Tech said it was raining, but yet he wasn't even at my house to know if it was or not. I work 3 miles from my house and it did rain for 3 mins. So again I was put off and was told he would come back on Sat to finish it. Well !!!! Sat came and went no call no nothing, now my pool has not ran for over 1 week. Finally I let my husband loose on the situation. He had been out of town this whole time. It is now Monday a week and a half later after the original call and service assesment. The tech just called me to say he was on his was. After my husband called and the girls in the office tried to tell him they would be out the next day. He said NO., you will be out today and it will be completed today!!!!. Will see?? So this is my take on things, So if you go thru your home warranty company you will get treated like a second class citizen and your issues are not important and you will keep getting placed on the back burner. So To Mike A at Aaron Pools. If you don't like or feel you are doing free work due to our warranty's then don't belong to the program. We should not be treated any different that your best customer!!!@!. Do I feel your techs are knowledgable? Yes But,,,,, The follow thru with this company is piss poor, The attitudes suck, and the Owner should be more involved in the issues that go aria. Used them before and they were fine but most recent service was HORRIBLE! We needed a home warranty service on our hot tub because it leaking badly. Service guy came out and was rude because we hadn't filled it up so he could see leak...makes sense except it leaks quickly and we didn't know when he'd be out. He left in a huff and came back next day...said it would be expensive and not likely to be covered on warranty. He was again rude and took off to put report in without a word. He gave warranty company a one line report saying it was customer negligence (not so, but too much info to go into)...and that he recommended they not cover it. You can bet that since we are now paying not only for the warranty visit and his attitude was horrendous that now we will look for a better company to do business with when we pay in full for the repairs! read more

Don't get all the bad reviews. Controller inside my variable speed pump failed on Monday morning. Opened a claim with American Home Shield and soon got a call from Aaron Pools to schedule. They showed up on time, with an advance courtesy call, diagnosed the problem in five minutes and left to get the part (the electronic control board). Returned a couple of hours later and completed the job in 30 minutes. Everyone from the office to the field technician were prompt, courteous and professional. Did exactly what they said they'd do, when they said they'd do it. Best experience I've had with a repair company coming to my home in years. read more

I had technicians from Aaron Pools, Tempe, AZ, service our pool pump for years because of there contract with our home warranty plan America Home Shield. I had been satisfied with the service in past, but, something changed with the service and INTEGRITY of Aaron Pools. Our pool pump motor stopped working after 20yrs. American Home Shield contacted Aaron Pools the same day to do an evaluation of the motor, it took almost 2 weeks for service. The technician came (very nice, very young) and informed us what we already knew, the motor was burnt out and needed to be replaced. The motor had already been reconditioned by this company many years prior. Several more ..days later same technician showed up with a "reconditioned motor". I stopped him and informed him the Warranty provided for a new motor, not reconditioned. He placed a call to his "boss" and told me his boss stated that i had to pay ""$100.00 TO AARON POOLS Directly"!! if i wanted a non-reconditioned (new) motor. I immediately knew Aaron Pools was attempting to get money from us that was against their contract with the warranty company and holding up our pool pump repair for Ransom!!! I called the Warranty company and informed them what occured, i was told that Aaron Pools NEVER contacted them with their original evaluation of our pool pump and what work was needed to be done. I told them how Aaron Pools was demanding $100 paid directly to them if i wanted a NEW motor vs a reconditioned motor. I was transferred immediately to a supervisor to repeat how Aaron Pools was demanding the $100. The warranty company contacted Aaron Pools. Another few days later no call from Aaron Pools, i called them for date and time of repair service, was given date and time. Sat at home, 30 min after end of arrival time frame, i called again and told within 15min. An hr later i called again and told within 5 min. Finally 2hrs late same tecnician arrived and of course he had a RECONDITIONED motor. I wouldn't accept and he called his "Office and Boss". When he got off the phone he told me that his boss/supervisor stated he got permission from American Home Shield to charge the $100 if i wanted a New Motor or it had to be reconditioned. Our family was so frustrated at this point with a filthy pool and all the time we wasted waiting for service. I paid the $100 to Aaron Pools. NO it didnt end there! The young technician couldnt get the new motor to work and when he called his supervisor he had to talk the tech through which wire went where!! Same happened several times. Pool motor still not working!!! Also...was told by American Home Shield that Aaron Pools was NEVER and would NEVER be permitted to collect additional $ from me!! I now have to go after Aaron Pools to get my $ back. BEWARE! read more

This pool problem took 3 trips by Aaron Pools to get the job done, the total price was the AHS service of $75. Each time they called 3 days ahead, said the repairman (Bailey) would give a courtesy call when he was on this way. The first time Bailey said he would call back when they had the parts. They did about 5 days later and on the second trip Bailey said the filter was faulty and would need to be replaced. So he said they'd call once he had the parts. After 3 more days, they called and Bailey came out and replaced the filter. Now my pool is completely clear again and we can enjoy our pool! This company did a great job keeping me informed, dealing with AHS, and did great work. I've seen the bad reviews here but did not have a bad experience at all with this company, I highly recommend them. read more

Registered here just to write this review and WARN people. I would put minus 5 stars if I could. HORRIBLE!!!! NEVER WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! UNPROFESSIONAL, IGNORANT, DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM SECRETARY TO THE OWNER. We were referred to them through our Home Warranty company three weeks ago. The technician showed up for 5 minutes and left. No one contacted us after to tell us what is going on. When we called them that same day the only thing they said "Your warranty will not cover. Pay us $65 for the visit." We said that we would pay whatever warranty doesn't cover and please let us know the estimate. The answer was "well, we will have to send technician back to give you the quote and you will have to pay additional $65." I mean, why technician did not check to give the quote in the first place, right? Anyway we don't like conflict so said please go back and give us the quote. He went to our house, parked outside, never went back to the pool (we had a guest in the house that whole week, so we knew for sure what happened). Then he quoted us (from his car) that the fee will be $200. We said OK, we will pay $200 if you fix the pool. He came a week later WITHOUT NESSESARY PARTS. My husband had to go and buy those himself whole the guy was waiting in the car. When we had all the parts he worked on the pool and left saying not to turn on the pump for a couple of hours. When we did turn on the pump -- the problem that we had WAS NOT FIXED. When he was laving he told us that we can call him and he would come back and fix again if needed. But when we tried to reach him he just never picked up the phone and when we called the company they were extremely rude and said they will not do anything unless we pay (for still not fixed pool???) and that they would just sue us if we don't pay. Now they are telling us that if we want them to go back again we have to pay $200 plus additional $65 again. The owner is extremely rude, the secretary is worse. So really, never hire them!! The only good reviews are most likely posted by friends and family. read more

Daniel came to our home last week. He is employed by Aaron pools sent out by Old Republic, the warranty company that the seller paid for at the close of our house in March. We had two broken valves and the light was not functioning. Daniel was not personable at all. He looked at the valves and said they wouldn't be covered because they went to the water features. I could not find where it had said anywhere in my contract that water features weren't covered. He was matter of fact and very cold about the fact they weren't covered. Then he walked over to the light and leaned down and looked at the light and said it was full of water and the entire light assembly would need to be replaced. He furthered explained this would include having to rerun the wiring to the box. Again, without any remorse, he said it was not a covered item either. Daniel was happy to give me an estimate for the repairs, which included a bill for $300.00 to fix the light. I told him I was unhappy with his demeaner. My husband pulled the light out and it was not full of water! We purchased a 250 watt bulb at the pool store for $15.00 and fixed the light ourselves. I have never felt so ripped off by Daniels diagnosis and estimate for the repair of the pool light. Consumer beware of Aaron Pools employing techs that do business this way. read more

Horrible service, waited till 145 pm for the pool tech to come to my home who my home warranty company called out to fix my pump that was working half way. He turned it on for 10 seconds and said sounds like the bearings are not working but the home warranty wont cover noise issues. I kept trying to tell him that it was not working how it was supposed to and it was causing the water to be cloudy, and not sucking how it was supposed to. He said its not cloudy. Well, that's because your office girl told me to dump a ton of liquid chlorine in the pool to keep it from turning green in the beginning of the week. He didn't want to work, then gave me a quote for a new pump. I called my home warranty company old Republic, and they said they would have covered the barrings and the tech does not call the shots on what is covered and what is not. He also gave me a quote to change the motor out. I have had Old Republic for years at my other house with a pool and never had an issue with coverage. Not sure how you could figure things out in 10 seconds, run from this company, kid didn't want to work or because I am female he thought he could get one over one me. read more

They were contracted by my warranty company to repair my pool motor. Pros- (only one) tech showed up on time Fri 9am Cons- tech figured out the problem, said he was going to the parts store to get a new motor, didn't hear from him for 5 hours, so i called him at 3 to get an update on how he was doing, he told me he had gone to another job and it took him longer than what he thought and now parts store was closed and he wouldn't be able to fix my motor until the following week? Wouldn't explain why he had gone to another job before completing mine. I called the office and try to get an explanation, they finally said, they could get someone to stop by Saturday morning with a new motor and do the repair work. Tech showed up Saturday morning, and unloads the motor , it doesn't look brand new , i asked him , is it new and and he said no, it's rebuilt??? At this point, I just wanted to have my pool fixed as it was turning green, and said fine, let's just get it going, I called the office Tuesday morning.( Memorial Day) Some how they tried to make it as it was my fault that I got rebuilt motor, not the new one that we agreed, "I should have said something", i was told. Rip Off. Aaron pools was assigned to me by my home warranty. I explained to the home warranty company that the pump motor was not working on waterfall . I was told that it was covered because it was part of the original pool and not an add-on. And it is using the same plumbing. I also made this very clear to Aaron pools when they called to set-up the appointment. They asked that I leave the co pay in the timer box because no one would be home at the time of service. They came out as scheduled picked up the check and refused to fix the pump. They said waterfalls are not covered. I feel totally ripped off. They knew ahead of time that they were going to be working on the waterfall. All they did was steal $75.00 from me. read more

I have had Aaron Pools to my property for years, through the Home Warranty as well as for items not covered by them. What these customer do not understand is that most of their problems are stemming back to the home warranty companies, in that they can only repair what the home warranty authorizes them to repair. I have had nothing but competent technicians to my property and always personable and friendly. There are certainly good reviews on here as well as mine. I would chalk the bad reviews up to some people are just dumbasses. read more

Aaron Pools just provided me the best ever service. I had some serious work that needed to be done. I had several leaks, and my pump motor was blown. My home warranty company assigned Aaron Pools as the contractor to repair my pool equipment. Aaron Pools contacted me as soon as they were assigned the work order. It was super easy and fast to schedule an appointment. The technician, Mike, showed up right on time. He called when he was on his way, so I was ready when he got here. He knows his stuff and got right to work. He removed the old pump and sent it out to be rebuilt, then brought it back and installed it. He replaced the big backwash valve that was leaking, and he replaced another valve that was leaking. Everything was done professionally, quickly, and to my complete satisfaction. I am 100% satisfied with the service I received and I do not hesitate to recommend them. It is hard to find quality service these days. Aaron Pools provides quality service. read more

Aaron Pools was sent out by First American Home Warranty when my Hayward Ecostar drive failed. I had already troubleshooted the pump to confirm the drive had failed and was shorted tripping my breaker. The tech confirmed that the breaker was tripping and looked no further. He said he has seen a lot drives on this model go out and you can find the same by a google search. He said because of the recent rain, that I may have a hard time getting it covered. He then proceeded to report this to First American.. "Report: Tech found that the pool's circulation pump shorted out; all due to being run when it was raining; not normal wear and tear" Based on this my claim was denied. The tech was nice enough to offer to sell me a new unit and this is clearly the approach Aaron Pools takes to gain business. I can see why this approach is necessary after looking at the company reputation. Oh.. and by the way, I got a statement from Hayward, the manufacturer that the pump is designed to operate in the rain and that would not be a reason to deny a claim. read more
