1. Aastro Transmission (Broadway Blvd) held my vehicle from April 30 to May 14, 2026. Pre-tow video: Proves the front-end body damage did not exist before Aastro took custody. Video of Aastro's tow truck driver loading my truck on their tow truck captures unsecured towing chains dangling precisely where the new front-end damage is located. Impact evidence: Video shows the vehicle impacting the gantry frame, visibly shifting the tow truck chassis Discovered damage: My insurance retrieved my truck on 5-14 at 9:50 am. My insurance tow driver noted severe front-end dents/paint damage; I found missing coil pack bolts on my engine. 2. Multiple return trips required due to faulty aftermarket oil cooler installation. Condenser failure: Paid $500 for a sudden A/C leak despite it working perfectly pre-service. It is impossible for an air conditioner to function with a condenser leak. The condenser sits exactly where mechanics installed the front-end aftermarket oil cooler. 3. Salesmen Manny and Patrick, alongside Manager Ray Collins, refuse to address damages. I emailed owner Ryan Brown on 7/9 requesting insurance information and I never received a response. I spoke with Ryan Brown on 7-21; I mentioned to Ryan that I emailed him with no response back. Ryan explained he " don't get involved with these issues and referred me to Manager Ray Colins. Manager Ray Collins made local news for his arrest in 2017. This was due to insurance fraud and identity theft while he managed a Midas car care in Tucson. read more

Incompetent service, dangerous mistakes, and zero accountability. I took my 2018 Ford F-150 to this shop for a transmission filter replacement. A few months later, during a hot trip to Phoenix, the truck vented transmission fluid all over the undercarriage. I brought it back to them for a diagnosis. After keeping it for a day, they claimed the transmission was "reaching 199 degrees too quickly" and insisted on a costly Full RDI (Remove, Disassemble, and Inspect).Red flags went up immediately. A basic search shows 199 degrees is perfectly within normal operating temperature for this Ford 10-speed, and the truck was shifting flawlessly. I refused the service. Within an hour, the owner called back offering a 10 percent discount to pressure me into the RDI.I refused again and towed my truck to a Ford dealership. Ford's certified technicians connected a scanner, test drove it, and confirmed the transmission was operating normally. However, they found the real issue: the transmission was heavily overfilled.Upon reviewing this shop's original paperwork, I discovered two critical, disqualifying errors:They filled it with Valvoline MV ATF, which is completely incompatible with Ford's 10-speed transmission (which strictly requires Mercon ULV).They billed for 7 quarts of fluid, which is grossly overfilled for a standard pan drop.This shop used the wrong fluid, overfilled the system, caused the vehicle to vent fluid, and then tried to scam me into an expensive, unnecessary teardown based on normal operating temperatures.I demanded reimbursement for the towing, Ford's diagnostic fee, and the cost to flush the incorrect fluid. They have completely ignored my calls. They have also completely ignored a formal consumer complaint filed through the Arizona Attorney General's office. read more

Had aastro service my transmission on my 2016 ford explorer a few years back, just recently started having a slipping problem, took it to brakemax and they said it took 6 quarts of transmission fluid, i have no leaks !,,, and only put 25k miles on the vehicle,, where does 6 quarts of transmission fluid go ?, i have had other problems with this shop ! read more

Dishonest, bad customer service. Patrick is straight up rude over the phone. Refuses to give even a broad price range over the phone, then gave me 3 estimates (incompassing other issues than the original problem) once I brought my vehicle in. All were 40-50% more than the estimated average according to chat gpt. Then once I finally go to pay for the final repair, they have added about $100 extra charges for 'shop materials' and other miscellanious fees. Why those weren't in the original estimate, I could never say, but it sure left me with the feeling that these guys are dishonest and sleazy. I've given them 2 separate repairs now, both times had similiar experiences. They tend to blame their behavior on 'corporate' and 'all repair shops charge these fees' and yet the others will include them (if they have them at all) in the orginal estimate instead of surprise fees at pickup. I highly suggest you avoid these people, very poor business practices. read more

We wanted to change out the transmission fluid in our 2008 Tundra. We were referred to Aastro by our local Brake Masters, who suggested we should take our older vehicle to a well-qualified transmission company. We got an appointment immediately and work was completed within the estimated time. We were really impressed by the owner, Patrick, and his obvious knowledge and dedication to his business. He did an overall inspection of our truck and confirmed all in good order, with the exception of the brake fluid, which we had him replace. The cost of the work was reasonable. We would definitely return to Aastro and highly recommend this shop. read more

I can't say enough good things about Aastro and Patrick Cooley. I had two issues on my VW European - a transmission issue and evap issue. I originally took my vehicle to another shop. After 4-5 hours of total diagnosis over a two-week period, they could not solve the problem. By contrast Aastro was able to quickly (within 1 hour) diagnose the problem and repair it. Same with the transmission issue - both related to pack-rat damage. Photographs and detailed explanation of the problem were provided before the work was performed. What can I say? Patrick and his mechanic team know what they are doing. This is a good shop. Oh, let me mention that 3 years ago, they rebuilt the transmission on my Mercedes SUV. Their quote was in-line with others. 30,000 miles later, still working great. read more

I rarely give 5 star reviews after visiting a place once. I needed a Subaru mechanic for my 2011 Forester and I found Astro Transmission on a Google search. Right away I was put at ease with Patrick's knowledge and competence on all things automotive, especially my Subaru. The thing that pushed it to 5 stars was their willingness to educate me about the work needed on my car, and why, and to help me to decide what was an immediate concern and what could wait until my financial picture is a bit rosier. The work preformed on my Subaru was finished on time and at the price point we had agreed, they even handle a few minor repairs without charge! Patrick and the other mechanics at the Ina Road location are tops, Ron Collins the 'cost estimator' gave a great estimate on all the parts needed, the peace of mind that comes with the knowledge that I have a competent and honest mechanic is priceless. Beware! Beware! Beware! DO NOT GO HERE!!! Brought my truck in for a transmission issue and was told it was going to be $800 to fix it, but then....got the call the next day that they were wrong and it was going to be $5,000! These guys are the master's of the bait and switch rip off trick. When I told them forget about the $800 fix, they told me too late and I had to pay it in order to get my truck back. They kept pushing their "in-house" financing as an answer to their $5,000 rip off. After I made it aware I was extremely unhappy and going public, they tried to cover their tracks with a phony transcript on their invoice that was full of spin and lies. They tried to get me to sign it and I refused. This is the classic rip off mechanic shop and I am sure they will try and bury this review. Buyer beware! read more

So far my experience with this company has been horrible I didn't even want to leave a star but they make you at least put one . I took my car into the West Ina shop because the reverse went out in my transmission explaining to them what was wrong they did a full inspection on the vehicle and told me about issues I never even asked about and didn't care about, just wanted to reverse fixed Left after I was told that the car is going to have to have a DNR done. Got home didn't hear a peep not a word I had to call them found out transmission needed to be rebuilt . Obviously me being a single parent I don't have that much money explain to them that so got cheaper rebuild. By the end of the week still NO WORD LACK OF COMMUNICATION !!!!! I had to call them again told they had a problem finding a part but they had found the part and they would have the transmission back Monday and he would put a rush on it and hopefully by Thursday I would have it back but possibly earlier. Thursday rolls around still NO COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER !!!! so obviously I called him back what's going on with my car oh we just got to transmission back in today and we're going to be putting it in the car so we're just waiting on a bay. So you see where I went there I hope ! So obviously I blew up, I unloaded on Patrick with both barrels I probably gave it a little harsher than what I should have but I don't really care about anybody's feelings, and I'm not going to let anybody take advantage of me ever. The next day the production manager Ray called me, asked me what the problem was, mind you he was on vacation and was on vacation so he told me and he got more done with communicating with me and understanding my problems in just that one day !!! one star is even too many. Had transmission had issue on our family car about a month ago, and I knew the name, so decided to bring it here. Started out friendly and did some diagnosing to the car, then wanted to disassemble it. after over $700 in work they told me it would need to be rebuilt and would cost nearly $9000. after they put the quote together it was over $7K (not including hard and soft part costs) with the $700 'discount' from the diagnostics. They told me all the reasons why it would be so expensive, but it didn't sit right with me. I called around to 4 other shops in town and asked for the max cost for a full rebuild and every other shop said $3500-$5000 TOPS. I even sent the work order for what they wanted to do to the shops and they were shocked on not only what they charged for certain things, but that they even charged at all for the minor stuff that they usually include in the work. When I told aastro that I wanted to take the car somewhere else their tune changed and they acted so surprised I found the service cheaper. Got the car towed to the other shop and when it arrived the transmission was in pieces in a box in the trunk. Really classy. Last time I am ever getting close to this shop, so be warned. And and in the end I paid the new place $4000 after all taxes and fees, and that included putting the transmission back together that Aastro failed to do. read more

It is hard to find good mechanics anymore. Many outfits will tell you they changed the transmission filter but in fact will just back flush without even dripping the pan. The "Conditions Report" that AASTRO sends out is a testament to their commitment to keeping their customers well informed throughout every step of the process. i paid over 5 thousand dollars for a rebuild on my transmission with all the "bells and whistles" and it only lasted 20 thousand miles, had to pay a couple of hundred more to have it pulled out and rebuilt under waranty, the manager said there is no waranty on the replacment rebuild,,, after 20 thousand more miles the transmission light started flashing again, paid a couple of hundred more for a transmission service that the manager described as a "band aid", he said his rebuilt transmissions for my 2001 iszuzu trooper only last 20 to 40 thousand miles, wish he told me that before i spent 5 thousand dollars for his piece of shit rebuild !,, bottom line is aastro rebuilt transmissions suck balls !,,, my origional transmission lasted 130 thousand miles !,,, i will not be useing aastro transmission for any more of my auto service needs !,,, read more

This place is something else first off Monica and Jim at the speedway location are very rude beware cause they DON'T explain that there is a 60$ inspection fee for them to check what you say and clearly can see is wrong they started checking for things that wasn't a problem probably hoping that my warranty would cover what they thought was wrong, this company dug up almost $2000 worth of damage that wasn't even why I brought my car in for (MONEY HUNGRY) PLEASE BE CAREFUL THEY WONT TELL YOU ABOUT AN INSPECTION FEE and they are rude if you decide to not have them do the work, I think I should still give BBB a call to inform them of the actions I had to go threw with this company, it seems like the other locations are more respectful but STAY AWAY from this location if you don't want to get played out of your money and I wonder if Jim and Monica have a relationship with one another he backs her up like she is perfect at her job mmmm... We found a mechanic for life after this experience. I was initially impressed as soon as I walked in and was greeted with an introduction and a hand shake, followed by a welcome here. Being the typical female that doesn't understand cars, I tend to explain issues with sounds and feelings the car does. I have been made to feel like an idiot on occasion in the past, but not here. Patrick was caring and seemed to completely understand my lack of technical termed explanation. After leaving my car, we received a very complete, detailed Condition Report email and a phone call explaining what they found. So many car places rattle off everything, give a quote for all of it and expect you to be ok with the price and the time frame. Again, not the same here. He told us the issues he found for what we brought the car in for, a few other things we didn't know and told us what was important to fix now and what and when to fix the others. Never once trying to push us to do more right away. And let's talk about the time frame... 24hrs... seriously!! That's it!! My car was done and ran great when I picked it up! Shady, shady place! I waited until we no longer owned our van to write this review. I didn't want to risk ever having to interact with this place again. These people will rob you blind. First, to get them to do an estimate, they take the transmission apart. What they don't tell you is that if you don't go with them, they won't put it back together. We were kind of screwed into letting them fix it. They quoted us over $4,000 to fix our transmission. It was just too much, so we called around before agreeing to anything. All the places who heard we'd gone to Aastro gave a knowing chuckle and said they were sorry, that we were being quoted too much and that people tow their vehicles elsewhere all the time from them. We decided to just go with them and have them fix it. When we got our van back, I waited in the parking lot in our rental car. I took photos of it while my husband was inside. Later on, we realized our hubcaps were all scratched and banged up pretty bad. We did NOT drop off our van to them in that condition! I would've made a huge stink about them looking that way before anything if I'd seen it--and you couldn't miss them! We told the guy there what we noticed and he said we were lying. He sent photos that he said were of our van when we dropped it off to the shop. The guy was lying. The photos lined up to my photos I'd taken the day we PICKED IT UP. The day we dropped it off, there were also a ton of cars in the parking lot and the day we picked it up, just as his photos showed, there were very few. It was so scummy. We just agreed never to return to this location and I told all 300 of my Facebook friends about this place too. Thankfully, when we did have to go back, we were able to go to the East side location and work with them instead. This Ina location is gross. Avoid at all costs. They also managed to find and correct an annoying wheel noise that a Mercedes dealer had been unable to fix in FOUR visits. And finally, they reviewed the recommended repairs from the MBZ shop and gave me an itemized list of which needed attention now and what the service schedule was for the remaining items. I had a great experience here after another shop tried to tell me the rattling sound I was hearing was probably due to a transmission issue (it wasn't), and that they couldn't tell me what the problem was (even though I told them I thought it was a loose heat shield). The technicians at Aastro took about an hour to locate the problem and fix it- because it was a simple fix, they did it free of charge. I first used Aastro in 2006 or 2007. Isabel still works there today, always friendly. Aastro would be my first choice of a shop if something goes wrong with my or my husband's car. Both Isabel and Patrick are very friendly and patient. They will explain things until you understand everything. They never talk down to you or ignore your questions. I really appreciate that. Their office is clean and organized, and their paperwork is easy to understand. The work is prompt and they keep you informed all the way. Their communication is absolutely great.
