They were terrible. Hired to move expensive tool boxes from work to home. I'm talking $10,000 to $20,000 of professional rolling tool boxes. These were like new no scratches or dents. Took a video before the move. Once they got to the house where I met them and opened the truck door the boxes were on the floor and smashed into each other! They were destroyed and the movers said it was the company's fault they didn't give them straps! Who moves heavy big items and does not strap them down! 3 of the 5 tool boxes moved are trashed and look like they have gone through a war zone. Huge scratches, dents, gouges, scraped up. 1 does not even roll evenly on its wheels anymore and that tool box was a year old. The company apologized, I filled a claim and they keep giving me the run around asking for the same information multiple times. Also they said they're insured, they are. But what then don't tell you is a standard moving policy that covers your damage at $.60/#. Read that again, sixty cents a pound! That is Nothing compared to the value and the damage done by THEIR NEGLIGENCE! Had they just strapped everything down and covered in blankets, nothing would have happened. UPDATE: SO NOW A YEAR LATER AFTER THE MOVE. I HAVE SENT MANY EMAILS, CALLS AND PICS AND VIDEOS OF DAMAGE, THEY KEEP ASKING FOR THE SAME STUFF. AND PRICING FOR REPLACEMENT OR SHOWING VALUE. YOU KNOW WHAT I HAVE RECEIVED FROM THEIR SO CALLED "WE'RE FULLY INSURED?" NOT A DIME!!!! They're scammers for sure, would never recommend even to worst enemy. read more

The initial contact with AB Moving was great. They responded to my inquiry very quickly and got my quote / move scheduled that same day. Excellent. The actual move process was so SLOW hence the 3 stars. We literally moved around the corner. The travel time has to be about 2 minutes. It took them 4 hours to move my 940 sq ft. apartment. At one point my boyfriend was helping them move our stuff into our apartment to make it go faster. I have used movers before and it took about 2 hours total. There seemed to be one guy who was in the apartment the entire time but the other two were slow. At one point one of them was outside smoking a cigarette / standing around. (i'm paying you by the hour, come on) The movers were polite & nice but I would have prefered them to be slightly more efficient. Thanks. read more

I used AB Movers Summer 2013, and had a great move. Would've been 5 stars except that they didn't have the wardrobe box on hand that I had requested. The movers were careful with everything, did multiple stops to pick up my belongings from my old residence (1st floor) and from my storage unit, drove the hour to my new place and unloaded everything (2nd floor) all in only about 3 hours and for only about $350. Overall a great experience and would definitely use 'em again. read more

I booked ab movers after reading the great reviews. However, my experience was not at all like what others write. Initially, I liked that my three person movers arrived fairly on time and moved quickly. I soon came to realize that speed came at the expense of quality and multiple pieces of my furniture were damaged beyond normal wear and tear (see pictures). In addition, the movers were quite unprofessional and would track mud into my carpet, wipe their sweat onto my furniture, and even left early without telling me! They didn't bother to wrap any of my pieces except for the mattress after I requested so - and this was after threatening to charge me extra for the wrapping. When I showed them the damages, they were very unapologetic. I have reported this behavior to customer service and am awaiting a response. Will update once I hear back. [update] I was contacted by the company's damage claims department in regards to the above damages. They are working on processing my claim, which I appreciate. I will update further on the end result of my claim. [update] I am changing my rating back to 1 star. The company had requested I alter my rating to 3 stars in "good faith" as they work on compensating me for damages. Well it's been over a month and I still have not received my claims letter. In full honestly, the process has been more than disappointing. Multiple people from this company kept dismissing the damages as "just scratches" - without any acknowledgement that these "scratches" were a result of utter negligence and unprofessionalism on the movers' part. Also, the damages have rendered some of my furniture completely un-sellable and aesthetically un-usable (see deep scratches on surface of my coffee table... Penetrates the wood beneath). I suspect this company is simply leading me on to believe I would get any form of reasonable recompense for their actions. I wish I had spent a little more on other moving companies, 2 guys 1 truck for example, to save myself the nightmare of this process. read more

I would give them zero stars except for the back up crew that I mention below. My original crew never showed up because the head of the crew was arrested. It makes me wonder about what kind of people they hire. It took several hours to get someone else there. Two of the crew members of the second crew never showed up (was supposed to be a 3-man crew) and the crew head's wife, who is pregnant, came in to help her husband. The two of them were terrific and did a great job for me, despite the challenges. Kudos and thanks to them. And they did lower my hourly rate, but that was offset by the crew taking much longer because of the lack of help. The incident the erases my confidence in the company. No one in management ever called me to apologize or ask how things went. I would definitely NOT use them again. read more

This review is late, as I unfortunately utilized AB Moving/Houston, Texas back in 2015. I had to be out of the home that very day to get to my new home six hours away. I'm still not over the nightmare! They were supposed to pack everything up, but showed up two hours late with no boxes. I had to scramble to get everything done. They damaged my silk plants, speakers, dining table, coffee table, among many other things. As I was getting into my car for them to follow me, I saw the driver breathing into a tube so the moving truck would start! Great, I had an alcoholic driving my belongings! About an hour into the drive, he turned off to a different direction. I kept calling him and he would not answer. I thought he took off with my belongings. After about 20 calls here finally answered and said he was going a different route. I was a nervous wreck!! He did arrive at my new home, and more damage was done to furniture as they unloaded the truck. It was there most disgusting experience in moving. For those who have left a review of how great this company is, consider yourselves lucky that you didn't have the guy move you that I got stuck with! read more

Crew showed up on this, but wanted to take 10 - 12 hours to move a small 3 bedroom apartment. It's was raining crew had no mask covering. The quoted me for 3 men but sent 2.5 and the half was slow and folded blankets. Only got my heavy things moved because AB Moving Company used a 3rd party company who did not know what was initially quoted. Not the crew fault, but this is an indictment on AB Moving, not the 3rd party. I will never recommend this company to no one, especially a woman. read more

The lady Donna who scheduled everything with me was GREAT beyond professional and polite. The move, well lets just it was OK. They were an hour later than window time set and it took so long, shocking because this was with 3 movers and I usually only get 2. There were a few times I had to ask a guy who was just standing around to move stuff. I watched that same guy use a dolly to move an item that I myself could bring down the stairs with just my hands. I scheduled a move a week in advance for a move between 1 to 4pm on Sunday. Everything was confirmed but they did not show at that time. I called their office at 4:05 pm to ask where they were but their office was not open despite their posted hours til 10:00 pm on their website. I suppose their hours just meant for their movers and not their office. I also sent an email at 4:05 pm an did not get a response within 20 hours. Finally the mover actually did call me at 6:00 pm and said he was not really close to finishing his 3rd move of the day and at that point I just cancelled. I'm not familiar with how moving works but it is really unlikely that my 1 to 4 pm appointment was supposed to be that mover's 4th move of the day. In summary, no show with little responsiveness deserves a 1 star. read more

Never again will I use them to move. They didn't wrap anything with moving blankets except for my TV and dining room table and still managed to drop and break the corner of my table, along with one of my bookcases breaking off the legs. They scratched up most of my furniture and managed to drop boxes off the dolly and out of their hands and breaking glass and things packed in boxes. They took my square table to fix the corner and it came back with a rounded edge. So I have a table with three square corners and one round one. They then said they would refund my money (after several phone calls complaining) if I signed a waiver for getting my money back and not saying anything about their crappy moving job. They can keep their money so I can warn others so their things aren't broken too! The damage done costs more than they were trying to refund me! read more

I used this company twice to move. Once from a smaller house into storage. Then from the same storage unit into another house. The first time I used them they were efficient. The 2nd time was different. It was a different crew. They told me on the phone they would be wearing masks when talking to anyone in the household, which they did not do. The movers told me they could not put my bed together because of liability issues. I then called the main number to see what was going on, as I verified that they did put furniture together before I hired them. The lady on the phone had no idea what the movers were talking about...She told me she would call dispatch and have them call the movers. All of a sudden, they were able to put furniture together. Then the screws went missing to the same bed they told me they couldn't put together. This company is the same one who moved us to begin with, so I asked the movers if they have a generic place they leave the hardware, which they said they usually tape it in a bag to the furniture. Well, no hardware to be found. I actually called a manager about this issue and was told if I bought the hardware they would come back to put the bed together. Well, turns out this bed has hardware that is not standard size, and I am still looking for some pieces. I am not sure if I will even be able to use this bed anymore. On top of this, they did not know how to put a kitchen table together (which my husband just screwed in 4 screws...). They also lied about not having the tools they would need to put it together. After I inquired a little further, a tool box was produced. They rushed the whole time and didn't even take of the plastic wrap, until I asked them. I would never use this company again. read more

The 3 guys that came to our home was amazing the worked very hard to get everything moved but after 9 hours of moving heavy furniture and boxes they were exhausted so we still have remaining big items and other items at our home. We told the company we had 2 to 3 rooms that still needed to be packed but the guys couldn't pack because they were busy moving items so we packed it ourselves. I called the company to let them know the guys were great however since this home was a 5 bedroom home that more guys would have been needed to finish the job in less hours or even at the same hours but everything would have been moved. We spent 1480.00 for this move to be told they can't move the rest of my items without charging me more hours and that I should have called for more guys!!. They put all the blame on us and their guys and told me that i said i could put some items in my truck if we ran out of space in their truck which i did but i didnt mean i would load the stuff into my truck myself, however I did help them move and load stuff in my truck as well as a courtesy because from 4pm to 1 am is a long time to be moving. I feel if you are a professional at moving and I tell you the size of our home you should send the correct amount of movers to get the job done but i guess more guys means less money in the companies pocket. They would rather work their employees to death then to lose hours. I have moved before and paid less and didn't have these issues and all my stuff got packed and moved in 5 hours. So if you are looking for a company with morals that will get your move done seamlessly don't use this company!! read more

I originally booked my move with AB Moving because they had great reviews and seemed reasonably priced. However, after this past weekend, I will NOT be recommending them to anyone. I was scheduled to move between 8am - 10am last Saturday. The driver called around 8am to let me know they hit some traffic and would be there around 9am. Perfect, no problem at all! Around 9:15am no one had shown up so I called to follow up. The driver informed me that they were not coming because my job had been unexpectedly cancelled. At which point I called the home office directly to figure out why no one had called to resolve the matter or at the very least, reschedule for another time. Apparently there was a "glitch" in the system and my drivers were once again "on the way". The drivers finally arrive at 10:30am, not ideal, but still had high hopes for the company. Unfortunately, my high hopes were soon crushed when three adolescents showed up to move my furniture. I felt more like a baby sitter at that point then anything. I am all for an employee enjoying their work and having a good time, but not at a paying customers expense. They were constantly off task, moving slowly, attempting to play with my roommates pets...at one point my roommate and I were moving my furniture to speed up the process! I also had to ask four times for all of my furniture to be wrapped, and still that did not happen. Once we arrived at my new home I watched from a window as one of the movers loaded an empty wooden bookshelf (once again, not wrapped) and a few plastic tubs of clothes onto a dolly. Half way to the front door he dropped the entire thing. Scratching the book shelf my grandfather had built me years ago. I was hoping when he came in he would apologize or at least address the fact that the accident had happened. Nothing, he said nothing and went back to unload more. In the end, the did take off 30 minutes (about $60) for dropping the bookshelf after I brought up the fact that I watched it happen. However, I wish I had made a bigger complaint with the home office. After unpacking and seeing the full damage, I now have a twin mattress that has some kind of hot pink stain all over it, a recliner that has a black stain on the arm, a broken washing mashing door, a scratched desk, a plastic bin full of framed photos that were dropped and now shattered, a scratched bookshelf....overall this was a TERRRIBLE experience, that I paid almost $500 for. The only positive thing I can say about this company was that Mike, who scheduled my service via email, was very informative and quick to respond to my questions before the move. read more

These guys are awesome. Made sure to remind me of my appointment beforehand and on actual moving day they came fast and took care of business just as quickly. There is a little cosmetic damage on one of my shelves as a result of the move but it's not a big deal. They were friendly yet super professional, explained everything, and after walk through got right to work! I was moving from a townhome and they cleared my home out in a blink. Not one scratch, scuff, or anything. I wanted half of my items in new home and some in garage. They took care of it without any hassle. All pieces were wrapped to the T* I dreaded this move bc I was fearful of paying an arm and a leg. Nope not here! The price was perfect and fair! They got the job done in 2hrs flat!! these guys are the King of movers. My daughter had used the company in san antonio and loved the crew that was sent to her house. I was happy to see that the company had an office in Houston as well. Javier and the other two movers were quick and professional. We opted for the hourly move and there was not a minute where they were not shrink wrapping our furniture or loading and unloading the items from one apt to the new one. Amazingly efficient with unwrapping and setting up the new apt as well. I HIGHLY recommend this company and HIGHLY recommend Javier and his crew. All of the furniture, big and small, was wrapped in protectant film with padding and made the journey without incident. I was so excited when AB Moving was one of the first to reach out to me after i submitted a quote request for a short notice, last minute move happening the very next morning and i needed them to be on time at 730 am. The agent MIKE LAMB was soooo nice and helpful, and the rate was the very good. Just for these movers to show up the next day 1 1/2 hours late, then decide they didnt want to do the job, that could refuse service and just left..... after i was pleading with them this was my only time (opportunity) to retrieve my belongings and to not leave. ive moved several times in my lifetime and never ever, not ONE time has a company showed up, (really late) and then decide to LEAVE, and their reasoning they felt rushed. If you show up 1 1/2 hours late, and then sit around talking amongst each other (i guess deciding if they were leaving or not), i think any customer would be a little aggravated. I am just in shock over the rude customer service, not to mention the supervisor excused them for leaving, but swore he would call me back with maybe another solution within 10 minutes, either way, and i never received another phone call from the company, not even an apology. They had cheaper rates than most of if not all the other moving services I contacted. They came within the time window they gave and were very courteous and helpful. The move took less time than I was anticipating because of how hard the movers worked. I've used these guys three times now! They basically subcontract out so you never know who you're gonna get. You basically get a few guys in a van, but more importantly you get the insurance coverage and liability cover from AB. Thus far I've had great guys. They carry full coverage and get the job done. They make you sign about 20 documents to cover themselves, but all in all they offer a great service and have some great deals. read more
