He said he would take us off his list and then proceeded to thank us for wasting his time and that we can't afford it and we should get a U-Haul and saying we had a conference call even though he wanted a 3-way call (as I was on the phone with my man he called me asking to add my man into the call). This was such a terrible experience with a moving company. A job that should have only been 2 hours or less turned into 4.5 hours. The moving crew (2 guys) arrived late at the first location. There wasn't much to move since I already had the little that was left packed up and organized for them but for some reason it took them about an hour to get the items into the truck even though we were on the first floor. And I get it, furniture is heavy but there really wasn't a lot of furniture. During this phase one of the movers needed to use the restroom which isn't a problem but he took a massive dump and left the bathroom a bit gross and was in the restroom for at least 20 minutes. Once we got to the second location (only 8 minutes away but it took them about 15 despite there being no traffic), I was told my couch, a small love seat, was too large to fit in the stairwell. This turned into a dilemma of having to take the couch to a family member's home which was 45 minutes away from the second location. I measured the couch after the fact and it would have fit if they had taken off the cushions and moving blanket like I suggested. While still moving things into the second location, they slammed the mattress (F) into a puddle. This wouldn't have been a problem if they had wrapped the mattress completely but for some reason they only wrapped a small portion of one edge. Thankfully, I had a mattress protector on it but now that needs to be washed. When leaving the second location, they left a ton of trash in the street which I will need to go back and pick up but wasn't able to in the moment because I didn't have a bag or gloves to do so and I needed to now leave to go to the third location which again wouldn't have been needed if they listened to my suggestions about the couch. They arrived well after their stated time and struggled getting the couch into the house. Mind you, last year, a friend and myself were able to get it out of the door no issues. And yes, I could have done the move on my own, but I no longer have a truck to do so. I don't think the guys realized that I spoke Spanish until they saw the World Cup game on my family member's TV on Telemundo because they changed their attitude and were all of a sudden nice which makes sense because they kept making rude comments / swearing at the second location in Spanish. I tried to let it go when it was happening because I was already so frustrated at the situation and didn't want to say something and have an even worse job done. I truly believe they were intentionally moving slower than necessary to increase the cost. What should have been less than $400 turned into over $700 and that was WITH the military discount and $50 discount I was provided for the couch issue. I also was not told that there would be a 3% processing fee for using a credit card until I went to pay. I would not recommend this company at all. I am incredibly disappointed because they had such good reviews. I've moved plenty of times before in NYC walk ups, one of which was 6 floors, with the same furniture, same size crew and the crew members took less time and were far more professional. read more

I usually don't like to leave negative reviews, but my recent experience on Dec 20, 2024 with AB Moving was so frustrating that I feel it's necessary to share. I hired them for a move, and unfortunately, my television was damaged during the process. The movers (who I later found out were contractors, not employees of the company) clearly didn't handle my TV with the care it deserved--it was improperly wrapped and placed on its side, which caused significant damage. I reached out to the company, hoping for a fair resolution. They offered me a settlement of $120, which is nowhere near enough to cover the damage to an LG Smart TV that retailed $799.00 and was less than two years old and cost far more than that amount. I provided them with proof of purchase and asked for a more reasonable $300.00, but I haven't received any satisfactory response or compensation. This whole experience has been incredibly disappointing. I trusted AB Moving to handle my things safely, and instead, I'm left with a damaged TV and no fair compensation. My moving services was a complete nightmare I had three movers which only two out the three were really working. They wasted a lot of time on the clock. They completely dissembled my kids bunk bed w/ trundle attached only to hook it back up wrong. They lost the brackets for the shelves in my entertainment stand and the lost the screws holding up my brand new 75in tv. I was charged a credit card fee when I paid with debit. They wasted 5 hours at my old house and only spent an 1hr at my new place assembling my furniture wrong. After moving less than two miles away I was charged $850 for horrible services. Luis and his team (hate I was so consumed with moving didn't get the other guys names) were a godsend! My mother and I could not move our home ourselves last month and after theft from the last moving company, I was very leery of having movers again. AB Moving put my mind at ease so much so I had to treat them to lunch. Even with my mother's stuff not fully packed they came in and knocked it out. At the new home they put most items in the closets and were mindful that we still had to maneuver around as we unpack. Pros: They sent a 3 man crew for the price of 2 a 2 man crew. Cons: They initially called within the window scheduled to tell me what time they'd arrive. My moving wi Dow was 10-1 and they said they'd arrive between 11:30-11:45. I waiting for them but did not hear anything until 1:08. At that time, it was a text from a completely different phone number that simply said, "10 minutes." I immediately responded to the text as I was puzzled at the vagueness and the phone number contacting me. It took them an additional 15 minutes from the time they sent that text to arrive. Upon arrival, one guy got out, came upstairs to see what needed to be moved then went and got the other two. At that time, I was told to sign for the time so they could start. No estimation or quote. One guy asked to use my bathroom before starting and I obliged. Call me crazy for assuming but I thought it was for number one...NOT NUMBER 2!! This man took a shit in my bathroom!!! Once he was done, he came out and was supposed to be wrapping the furniture but I caught him texting. They did not do a great job moving the furniture. Due to the size of my sofa, movers typically remove the legs... not these guys. So they struggled getting it out of my old place and into the new one, so I had to help. They went over the time I assumed my small apartment would take, broke furniture, and ruined the sheet on my mattress. Communication was the worst and the move was extremely unprofessional. I had three really young guys to move my belongings from a 10x30 storage to a 4 bedroom home and it was a huge success. They did a great job in explaining all the details and they were super nice guys. The driver was all about getting the job done and anytime he noticed a guy to slack off he called him out and was like hey a bit of help here! All three did an excellent job. It's always great having only one commander and the rest chiefs. I found that these young guys were more careful than the the older guys who have been doing this forever. I used AB moving and was 110 percent dissatisfied. This was my first time using a moving company. I recommend taking pictures of items before there moved. Get the extra insurance. Dont sign anything until you check every item they moved . The 3 movers damaged my couch and instead of telling me they put in the report that the couch was damaged before moving. I was in a hurry when they finished. Do not sign the paper work unless you Read EVERYTHING!!!!!. This was a learning curve for me unfortunately. I will never use AB MOVING.EVER. Each person I spoke with passed the blame and responsibility on the next person. The movers did something to cause my washer to not work properly after they reconnected. ZERO STARS!!! I have moved several times in the past few years without suffering any damage to my furniture. Now, after using AB Movers, there are tons of scratches and dents on my furniture from the movers being extremely careless! Very expensive, high quality wood and leather furniture. The movers failed to fully wrap the larger pieces with moving blankets to protect them. They let pieces of my furniture drag on the ground when they were moving things on the dolly and ramps. They didn't even bother covering the wood furniture with the moving blankets to protect it from getting dinged. In fact, the moving blankets sat on the floor of my apartment the whole time! The only time that they used it was when they were moving glass (a mirror). I literally watched my LEATHER recliner get DRAGGED on the ground, ripping a HOLE in it! When I told them to stop, they shrugged and said it was just a risk in moving furniture. UNACCEPTABLE. If they had wrapped it like they should have, and properly place it on a dolly, it would not have happened! Customer service has been silent. I waited 2 weeks to post this review, hoping that we could fix things quietly. I submitted a claim for damages to the company the very next day of my move. NO RESPONSE! I followed up with them a week later, and still NO RESPONSE! No calls, no emails. They have no intention of acknowledging their mistakes or compensating for the damages they have caused. read more

WOMEN BEWARE! Verbal assault, no respect for my belongings, no one including the owner of the company will respond to phone or email communications. I booked a short move with this company, ~4 miles from my old residence to the new one. My move could not be completed in one day because the elevator was out of service and the crew refused to carry the furniture (from a one bedroom apartment) down a flight of stairs. The majority of my furniture was damaged, including one dresser that was thrown off the truck and landed upside down in the middle of the street. An employee verbally assaulted me for 20 minutes, yelling that he dropped the dresser because the road was uneven. The situation escalated to the point where I had to tell the team I would call the police if they would not leave my property. I feared for my safety during that incident and have suffered severe emotional distress as a result.  No one in any management position has apologized or reached out to make the situation right. One of the employees even joked about the incident and seemed to think it was ok for his team member to verbally assault me. I have security footage recording their negligence in handling my furniture and of the assault, yet the organization refuses to acknowledge that this took place. I worry that other women will face similar treatment from this company and want to warn them, for your safety, and your peace of mind, avoid this company and their unprofessional practices. read more

I found AB Moving on Yelp and Google searches. They were able to quickly assist me with my same day move only giving them 1 hr advance. They were able to get 2 trucks and 6 movers total. Crew leads Marcus and Shawn did excellent jobs packing with their team. This was not a small task moving from 3 story unit to another. However they kept the pace and careful placed everything properly with the move. I did not give a 5 only reason is I wasn't told about blankets costing money until after they had prewrapped them around items. Other than that I would def use them again read more

Terrible customer service. I used this company for a move. I was charged a trip fee of $65 for a 5 mile move. I was ok with that. The movers got lost between the first house and second. They were lost for an hour. The company agreed to take 30 mins off of my cost. Fast forward. I got a quote for the same move and was quoted for $95 trip fee. This made no sense because a week earlier it was $30 cheaper. I talked to my dad who was using them for an up coming move. He had a 25 mile move. He was only charged $45 trip fee. I didn't understand the vast difference in the trip fee quotes. I had to email the owner. He refused to explain how he got to the trip fee. He would only lower the trip fee to $75. An explanation goes a long way. These people are very rude and do not care about their customers. So be aware of their trip fees they randomly use. read more

MOVE AT YOUR OWN RISK! Information represented on the website is inaccurate. The movers you book are not the movers they send. Your furniture will be damaged! Very unprofessional services. Movers did not follow instructions and wasted time. Movers disappeared starting 8 pm until there was only 1 mover left who then stated that he couldn't do much since his team left him. We were very hospitable to the movers, offered food, water, Gatorade. We even helped the movers run items into and out of the truck. The move was estimated for 3-4 hours and took 9 hours (for a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment) I'm not sure how this is possible. I understand that this is an estimated time to move but what is the estimate based off? The guys did a walkthrough when they arrived to estimate the move. During the walk through I was told the move would take 3-4 hours. When asked why the move took 9 hours their response was the elevators and walk was too far. The movers didn't show up with enough equipment. They ran out of plastic wrap and towels which we were assured they would have plenty of. The movers had one dolly on the truck so all three guys were using one dolly or carrying items individually (inefficient). Customer service did not work with us. Furniture was damaged. Reported picture evidence of furniture damage. Move was to include the following services: disassembly, move, and reassembly. The guys did not reassemble my furniture. I had to use a third party service and pay an additional fee for reassembly. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Ever. What's upsetting is that I used AB moving last year and it was amazing. I even recommended a few people, and now I wish I hadn't. Here's why: -My initial request included rental wardrobe boxes at $5/box. The day of my move, I was told that wasn't an option, and I had to $15/box. That's triple the price. I confirmed this was available two days before. -The arrival window was between 10am-1pm. The manager said his team would be there at 12pm. They didn't show up until 3:30pm. My dad came in from out of town and this put him completely behind schedule. The movers did not even have an AB moving van, the uniform or anything like the time before. I wasn't even sure if the movers actually worked for the company. -I also missed my freight elevator window at my new place. -Part of my moving request was packing my dishes and glasses. Because they were so far behind, the mover said it would be best if we packed the dishes ourselves. My mom ended up doing their job and packing the dishes. -He left the tools needed to break down my bed, which caused us to pay for even more time. -We finally got to the new location at 6pm. At the end of the move, we noticed my entire wardrobe box was missing. Come to find out, they left my clothes in the hallway of my old apartment. Anyone could have taken my things. What made it worse is that the mover said that if we went back to pick it up it would cost us more. Why should I have to pay for their mistake? -He left to go get my clothes that HE left and yelled "I knew this move was gonna be a problem." I addressed his comment, and he said that this was supposed to be his day off, so he was upset. -At the end of the move, we asked to speak to a supervisor. There was no reason we should have had to pay full price for an experience like that. I hadn't even mentioned how rude and unprofessional he was the entire time I received service. He refused to unload my 2 TV's until we paid full price. I've been calling and waiting to speak to someone regarding this experience, and have yet to receive a call back. By far the worst moving service in Houston. Our builder had hired them because we needed our carpets replaced. First off, they were late. They scratched up our brand new hardwood floors, there are marks and scratches all over the house, paint removed. The movers didn't wear shoe protection. We offered them water and had the audacity to ask if we had juice or soda instead. When it was time to put the furniture back, they did it all incorrectly. One of the beds, they backboard was placed backwards. They left a lot of pieces under the bed which we only found few hours after they left. Parts of my children's bed was hidden in the garage. they didn't put the wiring backs to the electronics. I can go on forever. To start off I will like to mention that the movers were late because they were not prepared and did not have a truck until 10:30 am. When the arrival time was between 8:00am to 10:00am. Furthermore, During the 1 1/2 hour move multiple items were damaged by the movers which includes my 42 inch flat screen TVs. My king size bed frame and dishes. I have called and left several voicemails for Genell as well has e-mailed the customer care e-mail provided with no results. If I could give a negative star I would. AB moving is by far the worst moving company I've ever dealt with. Not only did they practically rob me by riding the clock for almost 8 hours to move a 1500 sq ft 2 bedroom apartment but the mover called the cops to my door because I wanted to dispute the charge. I called customer service more than 15 times to get help and no one would help. Fernando, the person in charge of the movers was rude and unwilling to help as well and told me to negotiate a deal with his movers... I'm not their boss, why should I have to deal with these guys when you're in charge??? They also had my belonging spread throughout the community and I had my leasing office calling me to ask why my things were all over the place. See pictures below. When have you ever heard of 3 large men moving furniture that was already packed taking 6.5 hours??? Isn't this your job that you make income from? You would think they would have a system down to be efficient. What's more baffling is that it only took one complete hour to fully unload everything and only one guy was bringing stuff upstairs. TOTAL RIP OFF!!!! Don't trust them and go with someone else! Moved with team Espinoza today from a 2 bedroom second story apartment to a house. Great experience. Everything was padded, wrapped and moved with great care. I had the kitchen packed & everything made it in one piece. Very fair price & best experience I've had with any local mover. Team Espinoza was very professional; did a walk through a both locations to discuss where everything would go, awesome communication, took great care of my things, and was very patient with me repositioning furniture. EDIT: After this review I was actually able to get in contact with customer service and from there it was smooth sailing, as they quickly helped my file my claim and came to satisfactory resolution without inducing any kind of aggravation. Moving isn't perfect, mistakes happen, so it's important that you work with a company that will make things right in the end for the customer, and AB Moving is a company that shows that they care about you and your move, and will do what's right. I am very dissapointed with my move and the overall customer service of this company. During my move, the rails for my bed frame were lost. Imagine that, my headboard and footboard made it through, but they lost two eight foot pieces of wood! I had immediately assumed they left it on the truck up, and immediately called again and used the option to request a move, and finally got a person. Goes to show that this is a company that will just take your money as fast as possible, while doing nothing to help you fix their mistakes. So after this massive 4 day headache in trying to see if they could locate the sides of my bed, they tell me they can't find it, but offer no way for me to file a claim! The line is always busy, the website has no option to file a claim, etc. To sum it up, AB Moving will lose your important furniture and make it incredibly difficult for you to seek reimbursement. read more

Initially the move started off smooth. I moved from a one bedroom apartment to another one bedroom apartment. Apparently, they took the longest route to get to my new place and was "in traffic" for over an hour. I was super confused because I made it to the destination in about 35 mins. Then I was initially quoted for the trip fee and two hours with would've been $397. Well, I ended up paying almost $800. Well over what I was quoted and that is NOT okay. To add to that, the moving crew broke the leg on my headboard and tried to cover it up. I understand that things happen but don't hide it. They broke the leg on the headboard, ripped the fabric from the staples and then screwed the leg back on backwards. Then they wrapped it up in plastic and acted like nothing happened. I reported this to the moving company and was told someone would call back to file a claim. Jim's crew did a great job moving us on a recent Saturday morning. Showed up by 830 and immediately got to work. All members extremely conscientious about wrapping items and then getting them in and out of the house without damage. Moved things exactly where we asked them to, reassembled beds/couches, hooked up washer/dryer. Really, these guys are the BOMB. Great attitudes, hard workers. Only recommendation would be for company to upgrade moving truck. Older model ran well and was plenty big, but might turn off some consumers due to appearance. Will definitely use again. Very slow movers!!! Each time we have moved, we used movinghelp.com and was done within 2 hours with 2 movers. It took this company 2 hours just to load the truck with 3 men!! Also, two men took a dump in our bathrooms without asking nor stopping the clock, we didn't know until they needed toilet paper...how nasty and unprofessional! My family had to help load and unload because they were so slow!!! We paid over $500 and still have a garage full of boxes to take upstairs into our home. I would never recommend or use them again. They were leaving the house with one item on the dolly and wrapping furniture that my husband had already done! I think this was to try to make the move longer so they could profit more since it was hourly! Never again!!! Negative 5 stars!!! They were terrible. Hired to move expensive tool boxes from work to home. I'm talking $10,000 to $20,000 of professional rolling tool boxes. These were like new no scratches or dents. Took a video before the move. Once they got to the house where I met them and opened the truck door the boxes were on the floor and smashed into each other! They were destroyed and the movers said it was the company's fault they didn't give them straps! Who moves heavy big items and does not strap them down! 3 of the 5 tool boxes moved are trashed and look like they have gone through a war zone. Huge scratches, dents, gouges, scraped up. 1 does not even roll evenly on its wheels anymore and that tool box was a year old. The company apologized, I filled a claim and they keep giving me the run around asking for the same information multiple times. Also they said they're insured, they are. But what then don't tell you is a standard moving policy that covers your damage at $.60/#. Read that again, sixty cents a pound! That is Nothing compared to the value and the damage done by THEIR NEGLIGENCE! Had they just strapped everything down and covered in blankets, nothing would have happened. UPDATE: SO NOW A YEAR LATER AFTER THE MOVE. I HAVE SENT MANY EMAILS, CALLS AND PICS AND VIDEOS OF DAMAGE, THEY KEEP ASKING FOR THE SAME STUFF. AND PRICING FOR REPLACEMENT OR SHOWING VALUE.
