We recently visited Aba on a Sunday evening for dinner, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience overall. I absolutely love the vibe of this place--it's definitely a high-end Mediterranean restaurant, perfect for special occasions. What really stood out was how beautifully everyone was dressed; it added to the upscale, elegant atmosphere of the entire space. The restaurant offers both indoor seating and a beautiful outdoor seating area, which really elevates the overall experience. The outdoor space, in particular, adds to the charm and makes it a great spot for a relaxed yet upscale evening. Since reservations weren't available, we decided to arrive early, expecting a long wait. Luckily, being a Sunday evening, it wasn't too crowded, and we were seated within about 20 minutes. For drinks, I ordered a Tender Robot Hazy IPA, while my husband went with the Verdant Mai Tai. I was a bit disappointed to learn they only serve canned beer and don't offer draft options, as I personally prefer draft beer and am not a big fan of cocktails, which tend to be too sweet for my taste. For the main course, I had the Heirloom Chicken Thighs, and my husband ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes. Both dishes were cooked to perfection--flavorful, well-seasoned, and the meat was incredibly tender. That said, the portion sizes felt a bit small considering the price point. We ended the meal with the Sticky Date Cake, and it was hands down the best I've ever had--rich, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a great experience. Between the beautiful ambiance, flavorful food, and exceptional service, it's a place I'd definitely return to. I'm giving it 4 stars mainly because of the lack of draft beer and the smaller portion sizes for the price, but it's still a fantastic spot worth visiting.
Aba never misses! The ambiance and service are always top-tier. We beat the Friday rush by coming around 3 PM and got seated right away (it started getting busy around 4). The short rib hummus and yellowtail were both DELISH, the yellowtail is on the lighter side but the flavor is so great I could eat it as a main meal. Great quality all around. Highly recommend and then walking down Soco after :)
Aba - yes!! We so lucked out in finding this place and getting a reservation! The ambience is adorable! Super vibey, modern, and beautiful indoors and outdoors. The service was awesome. Staff was super friendly, server explained everything well, didn't rush us, and was very helpful! The food is amazing here. We loved our kebabs and appetizers. Wine and drinks are good here. It's definitely pricey, but if you come in knowing that... then it's a fabulous experience. They change the menu seasonally to keep things fresh. When in town, we would def come back!
Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the city, Aba transported us to a different world from everything to the ambience, the lighting, the service, the workers and the food! Once we were dropped off we went down this walkway and noticed a bar area to the right. I thought that was a separate bar area but turned out to be a section of the restaurant. I looked to my left and there was a path with people sitting down the path. Basically this place was huge and turns out there are three separate bar areas you can find seating in and there are two to three huge main dinning areas inside & out. The whole vibe is like a jungle/forest vibe and the low lighting was perfect. The ONLY thing that could have made it perfect was a better selection of music. I would have never left. We ended up finding two seats at one of the bars in the patio area and our waitress was amazing! She gave us advice on a few items and even gave us one of her favorite desserts on the house. We decided to start out with the brisket hummus (amazing!), the jumbo crab cakes ( so good), and the grilled salmon (cooked to perfection). I also got a Mediterranean Mule and had her add passion fruit. Lastly, we had a date cake that was out of this world! I couldn't even explain it but it did have some sort of crème brûlée taste to it and I LOVE crème brûlée. Our waitress made the experience that much better, conversing with us and just having a good time. I wish I remembered her name to give her a huge shout out but she does work in the bar area. As mentioned, the dessert she let us try was the frozen yogurt drizzled with honey (it was the least favorite out of everything). Overall, I highly recommend checking out Aba and it's one of my top restaurants on the list. You will not be disappointed! I would recommend sitting in the patio area with the forest them. This restaurant is absolutely worth the hype and a must-try if you're looking for a fantastic culinary experience. We made a reservation day-of (which honestly worked out perfectly, but in the future I'd try to have more forethought because it was a rather late lunch). Restaurant was absolutely gorgeous and we were immediately seated upon arrival. Our waitress was sweet and friendly. Our toddler had a moment when he started wandering around chasing birds and the staff was kind and non-judgmental. Star of the show was hands down the food. We ordered the whipped feta (3/5), the short rib hummus (5/5), the chicken thighs (5/5), and the pork belly (5/5). Everything was delicious, but the whipped feta, while good, was not as otherworldly and unique as everything else. Next time I'd hope to try the stracciatella instead.
We had reservations here this evening and it was outstanding. Such a cool little spot. Great ambiance and service. The food was all delicious! I will say the spacing of our food was a little odd...our sides (Brussels and crispy potatoes) came out probably 10 mins before our mains, so we couldn't enjoy all of it together. Either way, great experience overall!
So excited to get yo work in Austin again as it means to get to eat in Aba which is just always exceptional! Enjoyed a mini reunion on the delightful back patio on this pretty spring day, shaded by a huge tree, it's a pretty spot in this city Service was exceptional thoughout ! We had to wait on a guest and they were patient with us as we enjoyed their always great classic hummus and delicious warm pita which they happily top up! Enjoyed some refreshing cocktails and I tried 2 of their dishes which I loved! The tuna tartare which was fresh with the right amount of heat and the cucumber dish which also lacked some heat and made me inspired to eat more cucumbers if I can replicate this dish! Cannot wait to be back - this is an Austin must try!!
Love it! I've been a few times.. even on my birthday! And they offerred a free frozen treat with a dandle :) The spot is so beautiful and immersive on South Congress, tucked into a walkway between buildings. There's greenery everywhere, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the covered patio gives it a slightly European feel. The lighting is soft and diffused, which makes the whole space feel a bit transportive. The menu pulls from a mix of Mediterranean influences like Israel, Lebanon, Turkey, and Greece, so there's a lot of flavor going on. The hummus is a standout. Super creamy, really well seasoned, and honestly one of those dishes you keep going back to. It's a great place to share a few things and try different flavors.
I used to really like Aba but Aba's food quality has gone down hill over the years, which shouldn't be the case when there is such a limited menu. 20 bucks for a Greek salad which is just a couple pieces of cucumber, tomatoes, slivers of red onion and a piece of feta. Great value if you come with a group and share a bunch of dishes. Service is pretty fast even when they're busy. Beautiful restaurant with gorgeous indoor and outdoor seating. The pita was seasoned and flavorful. The muhammara was more tomato and chili forward that walnut and date syrup forward like I prefer, but still yummy. The chicken skewers were good, but the ribeye was much better. The rice and sauces were so flavorful. The only thing I'd skip was the brussels and apple salad. It was good but there's probably better thing on the menu.
Best meal I had while visiting Austin! The lamb chops were so tender and not gamey at all, and my friends also thoroughly enjoyed their steak frites, kebabs, and hummus and feta dips. The cocktails were also delicious. The interior is dim and romantic, perfect for a date night or a fun girls' night! The outdoor seating is also beautiful, but it was cooler (temp-wise) inside so we opted for that. Would definitely recommend!

Best thing about this restaurant is the ambiance. I would come here for a GNO with friends but not for their food. Food is just okay. Decent but nothing spectacular Whipped feta (4/5): basically just feta with crushed pistachios. Tastes like feta from Cava Mixed grilled plate (3/5): kebab was dry. Rice is normal. Truffle salmon (2/5): Skip. just truffle oil and salmon sashimi. Pistachio Halibut (2/5): couldn't really taste the pistachio. More like a pesto halibut I came during happy hour on Friday but the waiter said happy hour is only served at the bar, even though it says on their website said 'at bar, outdoor and indoor dining'. Aba is a beautiful restaurant from the inside out, and they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There's a lot of greenery as well as warm lights that expand across the restaurant. I would recommend this as a great spot for brunch with the girls or a date night. This was my first time here, and I was surprised to see how large the restaurant was. The smoky garlic hummus was to die for along with the pita bread. The pita bread comes out warm and fluffy. The short rib shakshuka was super tender and flavorful and the shawarma-spiced skirt steak & eggs was cooked to a beautiful medium rare. To note, they do not ask how you would like your steak cooked. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the dishes that I ordered, and they were all nicely portioned to be able to share with my group of 4. We also ordered the Shady Beach groupies which was a nice refreshing sweet drink to enjoy with our meal for brunch. Although they get pretty busy, our server was very attentive to us and helpful to any questions we had. Let's begin with the ambiance, which is a great spot for a time with friends or date night. The atmosphere is fun so it is not really a place you would go as a family, if you have kids. As for the service, I do think Aba service could improve. The reservations are scheduled in advance and despite scheduling reservations and following their instructions to be there within the window, there were still no tables ready. Additionally, I was slightly disappointed as I was celebrating a birthday and requested indoor seating on my reservation, but I was given a tacky table near the entrance. It seems a bit concerning that despite the reservations not only were they not ready, but my table request was also not available. Nonetheless as I said, a birthday was being celebrated so we came to enjoy the food and not be bothered. Here's my take. Short rib Hummus: This appetizer is perhaps one of the best hummus combos I have ever had. I enjoyed how tender the short rib meat was and it paired so well with their pita bread. The pita bread has a garlic flavoring and it was warm so plus 1. If I come back it will more than likely be for another round of this hummus. Short rib over polenta: The tamarind brought the dish together, but I will say I was disappointed that it was a boneless short rib. I felt sort of led astray. Whenever, I think of a braised short rib dish I have never had it boneless. I feel like this should be made clear to customers on the menu, I wouldn't necessarily order again. Steak and Fritas: Who doesn't like a good steak? I thought this was a very simple dish to have, but note, you are not asked how you would like your steak cooked. I didn't even realize until the end. The steak was dry. I had higher expectations for a main dish. Roasted Potatoes: I think these were fantastic. I loved the herbs and I have to say the sauce on the side was great:) I would say give them a try. Aloe it's me: This drink came with a spice kick. It also had notes of citrus paired with the aloe. Absolutely enjoyed. Thirst trap: A fruity adult slushy I absolutely loved this drink. It was tasteful and a very refreshing drink all at once. Chocolate Cremeux: Oooo I loved this dessert. I will need to come back for another slice. Unsure if it is seasonal given the ginger and fall taste, but it was wonderful. The Cremeux was a nice rich, darker chocolate and I think it paired well with the flavors. The orange, ginger, and pistachio all balanced one another. Great dessert on the menu! Again the food was great, and I would be leaving a 5 star if my reservations were followed accordingly. read more

First of all, you cannot beat the ambiance especially when weather is nice try to sit outside on the shades of large tree. Aba is beautiful inside out. Food is great as well, but this is a mediterranean restaurant with great appetizers, so what you need to is go family style. Order bunch of appetizers, for first timers whipped feta, humus, charred eggplant and Brussels sprouts and scoop it with that pita bread. Entries are okay, but speciality of Aba in my opinion is the appetizers. It really brings home close. I would say also skip the mocktails. It doesn't adjust with the price. I have been several times, so service has been consistently great. Overall it is a nice break from bbq and you cannot beat the outside sitting area. Absolutely love Aba. It is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. I totally forgot that there was an Austin location. We ran into this looking to buy shoes at the New Balance store. When I saw Aba, I knew we were gonna go there for Happy Hour. Our drinks, food were good. We always get the whipped feta because it is delicious. We also got the crispy potatoes which were a good size. We opted for the happy hour drinks which were a great price. Our server was great and made good conversation. Definitely helped he was from the Midwest and familiar with the Chicago location. This venue was much bigger than the Chicago location as it had multiple bars and outside dining areas. Aba is a highly recommended spot in Austin and for good reason! The food is delicious and the vibes are great. we came on a sunday afternoon (4pm) and we were seated immediately but I recommend making a reservation ASAP! we ordered the smokey garlic hummus and whipped feta spread. both are AMAZING! I also got the chicken kebab entree but the chicken was a little dry. I recommend the hummus and spreads more! service was a little hard to grab whenever we needed something but not a big issue. read more

First time at the infamous Aba did not disappoint! Sat at one of the many bars while waiting for a table and the bartender was really great! The food is amazing as advertised. Absolutely cannot wait to get back. The whipped feta and short rib hummus is to die for. The vibes with the outdoor seating were amazing, they even provide blankets if you're cold 7/5 stars !! read more

Eh. Nothing special for me personally. I think you go more for the atmosphere and vibe. I think the dishes lacked flavor. The whipped feta was good, the best thing we had. The Greek salad was average, nothing special. The crispy potatoes were our least favorite item we got. The service was ok, we had to ask a few times for status on our drinks. I think if they added more seasoning/spices to the dishes, it'd be a lot better. The location was beautiful tho! The outdoor area is really big with plenty of seating. The inside was very pretty as well. Overall ok experience, just not sure I'd go back. It is a great spot for relaxing and for some cocktails. read more
5 STARS Aba is one of the best Mediterranean restaurants we've tried in a long time. It is a beautifully designed and decorated restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor tables with 2 bars to order drinks at, and plenty of areas to lounge. It is a very chic vibe and the food is incredible. Here is what I recommend you order: * Muhammara dip (5/5 stars, $14.95): I still dream about the muhammara dip from Aba to this day. It is a blend of roasted pepper, isot chile, walnut, and pomegranate molasses. With the pita, it is so addicting. * Char-grilled lamb chops (4/5 stars, $49.95): The lamb chops were tasty and were served with a pistachio and mint gremolata. * Brussels sprouts (4.5/5 stars, $13.95): There was a harissa honey served on top of these brussels sprouts and it made all the difference. * Mediterranean mule (5/5 stars): We ordered a large carafe of this drink and it was delicious(ly strong). We didn't have a reservation when we visited and will definitely make one next time. We lucked out and were able to get 2 seats at the bar. Next time, we may even try to sit outside where the tables surround this humongous tree. It's very picturesque. Highly recommend visiting! Will be back again soon! read more

Sooo goodd. I got the salmon and it was great, perfectly seasoned and the hummus and pita was super good, they gave us two baskets of bread. I definitely want to go back and try more items from the menu. The place is so cute, so many lights and it's super lush with plants. Indoors is super cute as well. It's definitely more high end and pricey but I'd say it's worth it! read more

I've been meaning to come to Aba for a while now, and it was absolutely worth the wait. Every dish was amazing, and the pork belly with the roasted apples absolutely blew me away with the combination of flavors. Everything down to the bread was rich and flavorful. This place is amazing. The decor makes you feel like you've transported somewhere tropical and you're on vacation. We waited about 25 minutes for an outside table and the service was great! Our server gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and talked through the fan favorites. We ordered the braised beef hummus which was delicious, brussel sprouts (more on the sweet side), the lamb and beef kebabs and the salmon kebabs (favorite of the table). The pita bread was chewy and flavorful! Definitely will be back here. 10/10. read more
A must stop in Austin! The short rib hummus is a MUST if you love short rib. The flavors and consistency are scrumptious and is a popular dish there. We subbed the bread for the Gluten free rosemary crackers and they were a perfect pair. The lamb and beef shish kabobs were delicious and the rice had my liking of a good amount of lemon zest/flavor. Atmosphere is very quaint and Modern. Service 5 stars. They have a completely separate menu for Gluten Free, which my friend was highly impressed by. Reservations a must! read more

Super friendly and helpful staff. My server was Noelle and she was a huge sweetheart and gave a great rundown of the menu, food pairings and top dishes. I had a pretty small meal, the classic hummus 5/5, and a lamb dish 4/5 The hummus was the perfect texture, seasoned well and had great crunchy pairings (also the portion size is surprisingly large) 5/5 The lamb orzo was also good , the lamb was cooked well and had an amazing flavor and the pomegranate and pine nuts added a nice accent to the dish; however, for me the dish needed a little more spice. 4/5 Overall the place was very well put together, had a calm, professional ambiance and was seemingly very popular even on a Wednesday afternoon. If you're in Austin and you'd like a nice dinner or early lunch this place is definitely in my top 3 recommendations. read more

Came back for a friend's birthday and had a lovely time! It was freezing cold outside but they had covers around the outside patio with cozy heaters. Our server was so nice and attentive to our needs. The food was yummy per usual, my favorite item of theirs has to be their hummus spreads, and their bread omgggg. read more

Discovered Aba through their Valentine's Day special. For $130, you get a five-course dinner for two, to-go. This is an insane deal, considering the amount of food you get. This year the meal included: lobster bisque, smoky garlic hummus with house bread, seared ahi tuna, beef tenderloin filets with sides of Brussels sprouts and scalloped potatoes, chocolate cake, and a bottle of Giuliana Prosecco. They provided reheating instructions that were easy to follow, and the food was spectacular. We loved everything we tried and were happy to have leftovers. Although we only stopped by the restaurant to pick up our food, I was very impressed by the interior decoration; it's a beautiful restaurant, with plants and lights everywhere. We parked in the Music Lane parking garage conveniently located next to Aba's. I can't wait to come back! read more

Mixed reviews about this restaurant. The service and atmosphere were great. Staff was attentive, the outdoor patio is stunning, and the overall expectations were met. Where it fell a part was the food. The lamb and beef kefta was very dry and the rice was hard. My husband didn't enjoy. It's smaller portions so, the prices are on the higher side when you're not getting a full meal and have to order more plates of food. The pistachio crusted halibut was very good. I enjoyed it with the couscous. The cous cous had strong flavor and a little salty but the halibut balanced this. Drink list was impressive but, fell short when we tried them. The coco Negroni was good with a strong aftertaste. The Mediterranean Mule was just ok. Average drinks. For the dessert we had the pistachio pana cotta. Highlight of the meal. Very unique dish and it was really good! We were celebrating our 20th anniversary. I enjoyed the experience and atmosphere more than the food. I'd recommend still checking out. read more

Beautiful aesthetic with such a calming and exotic ambiance. Service was great, by Catie, as well as the manager. We purposely came here due to a craving fot and "a tour de hummus". So far, Aba takes the crown for hummus. Incredible creamy texture, with creative touches of texture. Lunch special offers a trio sample of their favorite spreads for $20, including the hummus, the whipped feta, and the muhammara. Pro move: mix some muhammara with the whipped feta. I treated my son for his 22nd birthday with lunch at Aba today. He had never been since he hasn't been living in Austin the last 4+ years while in college. Because we waited a bit late to make a reservation our lunch slot was later than we usually eat, but it ended up working out well for us logistically. His sister and I had been to Aba before and although it was good last time, it was better this time! We chose to sit on the patio which was a little hot since it was 99 degrees outside but the shade and fan misters helped make it a nice experience. They had a lunch sampler plate that they were able to substitute the spread that had bell peppers (which I am sensitive too) with one made with charred eggplant. They accidentally forgot to put our lamb/beef skewer order in so because we had to wait a little longer, they kindly removed it from our bill. The food was yummy and fresh! They gave my son a really yummy birthday dessert (that we all shared) of frozen greek yogurt which cherry sauce and maraschino cherries that was delicious! Since I'm lactose intolerant I am careful of what kinds of dairy I eat (always carry lactaid with me) and I really enjoy fresh goat based dairy items. read more

overrated. I have now been twice - the first time I went with a large group of friends, and we shared plates. The total was close to $500 and we all left hungry. I came again with my partner for date night, and for a plate each, one side of potatoes, and hummus it was $100. That's absolutely insane. IMO, the hummus is better across the street at Joanne's. The drinks are strong, the portions are so tiny and the food isn't what I expected it to be for the price point it is at. The server we had tonight was lovely and very attentive. The service, ambiance, lighting, and decor are what makes this place seem expensive. Would highly recommend a few plates (the feta whip was decent) and a cocktail and to do dinner elsewhere. read more
I returned to Aba again to have another lovely experience. It was chilly and rainy and they moved heaters and umbrellas to ensure we didn't get wet. Our waitress was very attentive and fun. We had the salmon, green falafel and whipped feta. We completed the meal with sticky date cake. I love love love this place. It's my happy place. read more

Is there a parking garage nearby? I have a large F250 that I don't like to park on the street with.
Yes and when you get the bill be sure to ask them to validate your parking which I think gives you 2h free
