Was in town for a wedding and this place blew us away. One by one every person in the bridal party would mosy on over and pick up their falafel pita, come back, and say the next person had to try it. Really was incredible. If I'm ever back in town it's very much on the agenda. It's all good. The baklava, the hummus, the falafel.. had a cute little Turkish coffee and it was really great as well before I spilled the grounds all over myself. This is by far the best falafel I ever had! Everything was so fresh and the seasonings were perfect. I had the falafel platter and it came with side sauces that were out of this world. Roy's lemonade is a must as well as the baklava. They are doing a wonderful job with Covid. I felt very safe and they have outdoor seating as well. Aba's Falafel is a tiny gem located in Rhinebeck. While everyone gets the falafel - which are amazing - the real prize is a dish (or a sandwich - your choice) called Sabeh, which consists of eggplant, potatoes, falafel, mixed salad, tahini and topped with amba (a mango curry sauce). The only problem is that this is a lunchtime spot and if you don't get there by 3:00 PM, you have to wait until the next day to score the best falafel in New York State. read more

I came in here 20 minutes before closing last weekend and the staff was very welcoming (unlike other places where they're frustrated they can't close early). I had their classic falafel and it was packed with flavor! They really stuffed the pita for you. If you don't think it had enough flavor, they offered a selection of sauces for you to put on top (I loved the curry mango). I would definitely return if I am in the area again! read more

Best falafel I have had so far! Perfect amount of veggie slaw, pita bread is nicely toasted and falafel has great flavor. I appreciate that the toppings are there for you to take however much you need and the variety is amazing. Small place but has a few outdoor seats. Staff is friendly. I wish they a little more as the menu is limited but what they do serve, sure is good. They make lemonade which I was not a fan of but next time I go I will try their hummus and baklava ($4 for a small piece) and pack some falafels for the road! read more

They're only open for lunch. Destination dining for us after a write-up somewhere, and we were in the area heading upstate NY for foliage. Very glad we stopped by. Perfect falafels - not greasy and nicely packed, yet crumbly. Very tasty. Hummus was also very good - nice balance of tahini, olive oil and chickpeas - not garlicky nor lemony as in some places. I'd say the best falafels and hummus that I've had outside of Israel. However, eggplant wasn't as good, and baklava was not good at all. COVID set up was nice, and we ate outside on beautiful fall day. Highly recommended. read more

What a great falafel shop! This is a popping spot, so make sure you're ready to wait in line before coming by. We waited in line for about 15-20 mins on a Sunday afternoon but it was well worth it. The falafel are fresh and served hot. They are perfectly crispy on the outside and really flavorful overall. I tried the falafel platter so I could put it together how I wanted, and I was not disappointed. The Israeli salad was great, as well the cabbage salad which I don't even normally like. The pita itself was also pretty good. They have a bunch of tables for outdoor seating, and it's based on a first come first served basis. However, since this is a pretty casual place, people get up from the tables all of the time and it typically isn't hard to find a table. There is no waiter service though, so you order everything inside. I would definitely recommend! read more

This wonderful, tiny place is efficiently run, extremely clean and -- quite simply--makes delicious, flavorful food. I go for the falafel plate and my hubby loves it as a sandwich. If you are in a hurry, Aba's Falafel is perfect. They get food into your hands quickly. Plus--and this is a big plus for me, it 's healthy, fresh food filled with flavor and wonderful texture. The staff are polite and professional and make you feel welcome. Aba's Falafel is small, so it's really not ideal for dining in. However, in warmer weather you can make yourself comfortable at one of their outside tables. I return to Aba's often because you can count on good, fresh food that's reasonably priced. read more

If you're vegan this is your place for takeout. It is also a very super tiny place, you can sit down but only if you're rude or alone. The food is delicious. I had falafel ( cause that's why I left the house for) and my husband got a giro ( or shawarma, can't remember) and he also loved it ( and he's not a vegan guy). read more

Absolute only drawback is needing more hours - would be great to be able to get a cheap dinner in otherwise expensive Rhinebeck. HOWEVER this falafel is on point, delicious, vegan, and perfectly priced. Can't go wrong with a business that knows its mission and does it well. Fantastic falafel!! I occasionally take the 30 minute drive to Rhinebeck during my hour lunch break just to get their wonderful food, and that literally leaves me having to eat over my computer having spent the hour driving. It's that good. The ingredients are extremely fresh, authentic and prepared beautifully. The food is bursting with well-balanced flavor and the fresh pita... it's light and fluffy! Okay so you think because you're from NYC you've had great falafel? Just you wait. Aba's falafel is honestly the BEST and their really nice too. The falafel is fried just enough and their large enough so they're not dried out and the tahini sauce is to die for. We've been 4 times and we plan our drives up and down to the Adirondacks to hit Aba's and pick up falafels. One time they even stayed open for us because we ran into some traffic. This one is a keeper! read more

I first ate Aba's when they had their own "booth" at Rhinebeck's wonderful Sunday Farmers Market. Then they moved into their own restaurant next to C. V. S. on East Market Street. The place is clean, cheerful and the workers are friendly and inviting. But, best of all, the Falafel is wonderful...as delicious as the lunches I ate in Israel. Definitely worth a visit. read more

The falafel pita was fabulous- I can't think of anything I would improve. Falafel itself was crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside, great flavor, and evenly spread throughout the pita. Accompanying slaw had a great tang - comprised of tomato and cucumber, cabbage, and onion with sumac. Had a few bites with the curry dipping sauce as well which was unique and delicious. Great outdoor tables, dog friendly, situated on a lovely street. So glad to have stumbled upon this spot! read more
