It had both fresh watermelon & pickled watermelon which was a great balance with the pork belly. herbs like mint & cilantro mixed in with the greens that made each bite zesty and fresh. I ordered it with a side of avocado and it was perfection. Very refreshing flavors! I had the coconut curry broth with chicken and it was DELICIOUS. The chicken was so juicy and soft. My friend got the beef ramen which he loved. Kimchi tacos were great too. Only thing I will say is dont stop here for a quick bite, it's a bit slow but luckily for me I like to hang out. We were headed to the Yum Yum in Kingston, I set my GPS but never paid attention to where I was going and ended up here! Yay! It was bigger and airier than the other one. The staff was great, Friendly and just the right amount of attentive. And best of all their bathroom was so much bigger than the Kingston location. In Kingston my shoulder touch the walls. I'm here I had room to breathe!! The food is delicious, as good as the other location and the dining room is bigger too. The vegan food is good and works well for me. I've eaten here multiple times. We prefer takeout over dine in. I've tried curbside pickup several times: It's been a consistent problem. They tell you to call them when you are parked outside and they will bring you the food. This time I did as instructed. When you call them, the Noise level is so loud that you actually have to yell as loud as you can - just to hear yourself! Seriously unpleasant! I let them know that I am right outside the window. Then I waited patiently. Got involved with my phone. No problem. They left my order sitting on the counter inside getting cold and they forgot about it! I could have sat patiently for another half hour, without them realizing. Eventually, I realized that there is something wrong so I called again. The young lady brought it out, acknowledged that she forgot about it and apologized. That's appropriate. It seems that curbside pickup is too complicated for them to manage or the team is overwhelmed. Could I suggest a systems improvement? The ramen was amazing! I ordered miso soup on the side and was only given miso broth so that wasn't great (hence missing two stars) other than that it's an amazing place! For context, this used to be one of my favorite places to go to for great food. Especially the kimchi tacos; until tonight my partner, as I'm biting into our tacos we ordered, pulls out a huge piece of hair from MY MOUTH. Not a little piece, I would be okay with that--mistakes happen. But a large, from the scalp piece, wrapped around my teeth like floss. Contrary to other reviews, we got what we ordered and was served hot. Our appetizer was Korean tacos and were definitely a hit. Entrees/main courses were both good however my seafood currydidn't have noodles but rice--I ordered some Udon noodles and liked the result much better. Spice levels can be adjusted and mine was increased which was good. The location is very accessible but there is only on street parking. Inside is clean, modern and nice. Our server was very good. Ordered Thai Tea, and pork belly buns to start. The buns were delicious! Crispy pork belly on a fluffy sticky Asian style bun and the sauce it comes with really tied all the flavors together. I really enjoy Bahn Mi so I always order that when I see it on a menu! This Bahn Mi did not disappoint! There was a lot of pork and it was cooked perfectly. Tender and flavorful, I didn't need to pull every bite off with my teeth. The spicy sauce and jalapeño mixed well with the savory pork and crispy bread. About the bread, what makes a good Bahn Mi is the right bread. It needs to be light and crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. This bread was perfect and tasted fresh! There were no other customers so spend another 30 seconds actually cutting the seitan and vegetables instead of carelessly tossing giant chunks into the broth. To render these anything close to bite size required a good deal of help from my fork. If you're going to serve up fare like this, maybe supplement the spoon-and-chopsticks with a steak knife. As much as I'd like to write a snarky review about Yum Yum Noodle Bar, I'm going to use the space below to address the proprietors of this restaurant directly with, what I hope will be received as constructive criticism. I dined here on Sunday, October 1, at around 6:30 pm. I was seated promptly and attended to quickly by the waitstaff. I ordered Chicken Satay, Pad Sieu w/ Chicken, Japanese Eggplant w/ Chicken in Green Curry Sauce and Broadway Chicken w/ Oyster Mushrooms in a Kaffir Lime Butter Sauce. I was hungry and excited to enjoy a bountiful meal. Unfortunately, this meal was a monumental disappointment. From the heavy handed glop of satay sauce to a sloppy bowl of sieu, the dishes lacked flavor, technique, color and authenticity. The strangest aspect of them all was the chicken, which was seemingly precooked before being added to each dish. The chicken from all 4 dishes tasted the same, like boiled chicken thighs without any contribution to or from the dish it was a part of, without any textural, color, or flavor nuances that cooking the chicken in each dish would impart. The Pad Sieu was bland, and the noodles sloppy, essentially boiled in broth rather than stir-fried in sauce. There was no sweet soy smokiness that Pad Sieu is known for, and the noodles had no chew or stick. The egg may have been omitted, and the broccoli might as well have been, as little as there was in the dish. The oyster mushrooms in the Broadway Chicken dish were squeaky, again seemingly boiled rather than stir-fried, lacked all unctuous umami flavor, and were texturally hard to distinguish from chicken gristle. The green curry dish was basic and had ZERO spice, which is odd, since curry paste is inherently spicy. The Japanese eggplant WAS cooked, but the dish lacked layers and was very one note. Where was the cilantro? The Thai basil?? The vegetables??? The colors, spice, layers and fresh flavors that the food of Southeast Asia is known for?!?!?! It blows my mind that in such a food-centric part of the Hudson Valley that your restaurant missed the mark soooooo egregiously, eating more like dorm food than anything that even resembles authentic Asian Cuisine. read more

Alas, shrinkflation has come for my beloved sandwich. I've been getting it mostly from this location, but have also bought it from the Kingston location as well. It was always good and consistently made. I would tell everyone they had to try it. That was until last week. I have no problem paying $15 for the bahn mi sandwich, I get that things cost more now. What I don't understand is why I paid $15 for half the amount of pulled pork. The cucumbers and pickled jalapeños looked enormous compared to the amount of meat. Came here on the recommendation of a few friends who frequent the area. Walking in the restaurant feels spacious. Bench seating throughout with the exception of a high top table in the center of the dining room. Get here early as the seats seem to fill up fast both times I came here. Service is good here and friendly. My first trip I ordered a bowl of ramen and we also picked up an order of steam buns w/pickles and Bahn Mi. Both are delicious and neatly presented. I felt that the broth for my ramen bowl fell short on flavor and my protein of braised pork was over cooked and tough but my kids loved it. They enjoyed the control of creating their own bowls with the choices the menu offered. Also, we all had bubble teas which were very good. I shortage of bubbles in those. On my second trip out, I decided to shy away from the ramen and try a different offering. I ended up going for the Bibimbap. I was disappointed immediately when it wasn't served in a hot stone bowl as any authentic bibimbap should be presented. Digging in I found a good amount of flavor and all the other key ingredients were there. I did miss out on the Gochujang red bean paste that Korean restaurants usually serve in a small side dish but my extra order of KimChi made up the extra spice I needed. One thing I will also point out about this restaurant is the noise level. It is very loud. My first time there someone's lighter exploded in the kitchen according to our server when an extremely loud Bang! Shot through the establishment frightening everyone dining. The kitchen is not closed off and sits in the back corner so you can hear all the cooking and pots and pans going. Once it fills up in the dining room, the volume needed to have a conversation at your table has to be turned up to hear your party over the kitchen and other guests. Other than that, the restaurant is clean and overall I think the food is good and worth the prices they charge. The noodles are very good as they should be for a noodle bar and the ingredients used taste and appear to be fresh. I'd just like to see a more elegant broth and quieter atmosphere when I'm dining out. read more

Simple order I figured, but I guess there must have been some sort of miscommunication. First off, ALL of the chicken was dark meat, no light meat. So we're starting off with the cheapest cuts of meat. =( Second off I guess there was a problem with the whole bit about wanting chili paste in mine & wanting it super spicy. Because what I got was bland, watered down & only tasted slightly of the chicken & pork broth. The biggest problem was that the broth was not hot enough leaving the building. With less than 5 minutes from leaving the building to adding the noodles to the broth, there was not enough heat to fully heat the noodles. Sub par meat, lack of attention to details, lukewarm food, & very little flavour, doesn't make good food. It's not even like the noodles are made fresh, or like the broth was more than boiled meat in water, there was such a lack of flavour. Quite disappointing! =( While we waited for them to stuff store bought noodles into a container & barely boil water, we had some drinks at the bar. Again, very depressing. The prices are a joke, especially when you taste the cocktail. You're essentially getting an overpriced watered down shot, which you could have made yourself for a extreme fraction of the cost. I decided to take my aunt here since she was from out of town, and I have to say we did have a nice meal outside. The portions were good, the food tasted great along with the presentation. However, I do believe the customer service could be handled better. Instead of saying "are you done eating" to a paying customer, other wording would be more appropriate. I work in customer service, so I understand if some customers are difficult, but we both were very patient and easy. Also, outside dining could use an upgraded. EVERYTHING we ate and drank tasted FRESH and FLAVORFUL. Also, possibly the best bahn mi I've had, and I've had many! The pork was crispy and juicy and the bread seemed freshly baked. The most disgusting bowls of soup we ever experienced. The broth has a lingering rotten taste. The meat is terrible and spoiled. My husband spit it out back into his bowl. We served it to our kids and they tried to be troopers about it but they couldn't stand the taste. The steamed dumplings were dough stuck together. 120$ down the drain. Literally. I had the miso broth and the tofu it was mediocre but the meat bowls are by far worse than anything I've had. We would take it back but live 30 minutes away. I took my mother and fiancée here for a diner. The server was kind of lost in space, like a robot, but friendly. The entire scene is like a kids cafeteria with hard wood. But the two star review of because of the tasteless Ramen. I got a thin noodle, pork/beef broth, tofu ramen bowl and it had literally no flavor. My mother got a coconut curry shrimp ramen and it was bland and unseasoned. Super disappointing, as well we were charged 115$ for 3 bowels of ramen, 1 order of greasy dumplings (that were frozen, then fried), and 3 drinks. The food is really decent and so are the prices. I started going there during the pandemic when they started curb pick-up. Most restaurants in the area were doing the same thing as a way of maintaining business. Afterwards when things settled down Yum Yum Red Hook continued offering curb service. According to their on-line menu they still do. I'm handicap and attracted to eateries that still offer it. But the last two times I used it the young person sent out to my car with my order was rude and sarcastic. Two different times, two different rude runners. So management, if you don't want to offer curb service don't put it out there that you do. To the two different low-rungers of the your Red Hook operation, I hope that someday you become the best buss person in the world. read more

In my quest of finding a decent authentic Japanese Noodle House in/near Dutchess county, I stumbled upon this place on Facebook. Even though I knew it wasn't an authentic noodle house, I still had hope of it being good - so we decided to check it out on Mother's Day for an early dinner as party of 3 (me, hubby, and toddler). The place is easy to find with plenty of street parking. The space is open and clean, the waitress allow you to pick where you want to sit. They do have a full bar with draft beer, wine, and mixed drinks available. For Mother's Day, the offered a free glass of Presecco for Mothers - naturally, I had that as my beverage. Hubby ordered Thai ice tea. We ordered steamed vegetable dumpling to start and hubby ordered the noodle bowl with Udon in coconut curry broth with beef. I ordered the noodle bowl with ramen in miso broth with braised pork. All noodle bowl come with mixed veggies, mushroom, nori, and boiled egg. Hubby's Thai ice tea was good - not too sweet but good flavor; however, when we got the steamed dumpling, my hope started to dim. I think the steamed dumpling were sitting in the steamer 5-10 min. too long - the wrapping were stuck together and lost the chewy texture of what dumpling should be. The filling is not made from fresh vegetables, but more of a pickled cabbage/veggie filling - I don't mind it because I had those picked veggies in other Asian dishes before - but just a word of caution so you are not surprised. My daughter loves dumplings (we make them fresh at home) and she only had 1 of these - not up to par in our book. Hubby's coconut broth was good, but the noodle type "udon" is false advertising. To me, Japanese Udon is thick & round in shape with smooth (almost slippery) exterior texture while the inside of the noodle is chewy. Yum Yum Noodle Bar's Udon is thick but flat in shape with rough exterior texture - although still chewy, we didn't really care for it. Mine ramen was actually cooked well, but the miso broth is a bit bland. The braised pork is more of a BBQ pork. Overall, I think the place is overpriced for what you are getting. For me, this place is 2.5-3 Stars... I guess if you know the combo you like and live locally, this could be a OK place to come from time to time. For us, we won't be returning as we are not locals. Stopped in for lunch on Saturday. As it turned out, Yum Yum is perfect in the name for this Asian fusion restaurant in Red Hook. This is a spacious, casual restaurant with a Danish modern feel. The food was delicious, in ample portions and reasonably priced. Menu includes ramen, bento boxes, sandwiches and a variety of daily specials. The steamed pork dumplings with a side of Kimchi was super as was the thai coconut chicken, a daily special. The options for seating include communal tables and a long bar that spans the length of the restaurant. read more
