I walked over from the convention center after a day of sessions. Atmosphere is alive with conversation. The kitchen is open so you can see the servers picking up the food. I didn't see anything sitting. Seemed very efficient. I ordered the grouper, lump crab and shrimp with carrots. Everything was spiced just right and perfectly cooked. The carrots with the pistachios had just enough bite to them. The waitress recommended the grouper and I'm glad she did. Only thing that took longer than expected was my old fashioned from the bar but she did come by and apologized for the delay. Prices are more a $$$ to me than a $$. I had read that the servings were small but not the case for my meal.

Good seafood. Good selection on the menu. Service was good, we got seated right away. I got the catfish Opelousas (catfish, oysters and shrimp) it was good but way too salty for my taste. I enjoyed the oysters and shrimp the most. Oysters were cooked just right.

Don't get me wrong, the food and the atmosphere was AMAZING and the staff were very polite / professionally. The only reason why I gave 4 stars was because for the amount of that one dish it could be a better serving size (it was almost $50).

I was not expecting such a delicious restaurant right at the convention center. No parking spaces for the restaurant. We got takeout since the wait for in person dining was too long. They had an open kitchen where you can see the staff preparing food. The roasted oysters came with a layer of roasted Parmesan cheese on top. While very oily, it was delicious and no stinky or metallic flavor. The crab and spinach dip was good while hot, although I wish it had more lumps of crab since it was hard for me to find the crab pieces. The pasta Mardi Gras was also pretty good. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the sausage a little crispy on the edges. The medium fried shrimp was a good amount and came with French fries. I liked how they cut the shrimp down the middle to spread out the meat. It came with cocktail sauce and ketchup.

Possibly the best seafood I've had. The grouper was absolutely cooked a perfection. I asked for them to make it double blackened and spicy, and they added extra red chilies on top of which really did make it spicy. Service was very friendly. I recommend getting reservations.

This review is based solely on the to go experience and NOT THE FOOD..... I Ordered a To Go Catered order of the Mardi Gras pasta which was suppose to be chicken only as it was for a department lunch seafood allergies and no pork diets . I went to pickup it up curbside the pasta had eveything I didn't want inside . Manager offered a gift card and told me they would get my order right I waited for an additional 20 mins to ONLY to be giving another Mardi Gras pasta with crawfish tails and chicken I was going to Call For the manager again but Too much time already passed I was already late for the luncheon and needed to get back so I drove off. Needless to say I doubt I'd ever order Togo from there again. I spoke so highly of the pasta that some of my colleagues couldn't even get a taste because of the seafood. Do understand This won't stop me From dinning in at pappadeaux as I love the food !!

Went to Houston for a weekend and was pressed to visit Pappadeaux! Loved the experience and the food! The catfish was fresh and this was the best red beans and rice I've ever had. Our server was great and attentive. Looking forward to eating here again

I live in California and we don't have a Pappadeux's out here so anytime I go to Houston, it's always my first stop. The food was outstanding (per usual) but I'm leaving this review because my waiter Ahmed was FANTASTIC. This man refilled drinks without us having to ask him, he gave us space when we needed it and I didn't have to ask him to do anything because he already anticipated our needs. I've never had a waiter that was so kind and efficient and just plain good at his job.

Service was fantastic! I will say I ended up with 4 sodas without ever realizing I got a new one. I got the special and just wow! It was beyond delicious. The salmon was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I ended up eating the entire dish which rarely happens. This location is very busy with all the different conferences and events going on nearby, but the service never faltered. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting this area.

Something simple that should be an easy win. Unfortunately, everything leaned the same direction: either it was heavy, over-sauced, or overly garlicky. It tasted more like dressed-up frozen food than something thoughtfully prepared. And listen...I don't mind indulgent. But there still has to be balance and fresh food. Fresh like it was raw and delivered today, not fresh like fried in the last 15 mins. When everything is coated, covered, and competing, nothing actually stands out. The drinks didn't help either. They leaned hard on alcohol without much flavor behind them--more "this will get you there" than "this tastes good." Nothing was terrible. But nothing made me want another bite, either. And with seafood, that's kind of the whole point. The atmosphere is friendly, great music, and the service was very attentive. Even the presentation wasn't bad. It just wasn't enough. But at some point, you stop asking what's missing and just accept that it's not landing. I was still hungry so I went next door hoping for a better experience. I want to be clear: It's not bad. It's just not working.

Valet is a little tough here because the parking lot is small, but they managed to do a good job all things considered so kudos to them. Food: the food is absolutely amazing. Their version of Jerk Chicken is very unique. Full of flavor and very tasty. Every bite was amazing. I will say, though if they were to make this on an open pit or a flame pit like Caribbean hot pot I think it would really add to the flavor but all in all the way they do it. We had a 7pm reservation for two, and it was in a corner with a small table and high bar stools. It was very hot. We were sweaty, and I am normally very cold in restaurants. I think they go a little overboard with saying that having food here is like traveling the world and breaks down barriers. I like the concept though. They could do more with the decor to give it more of a world traveler vibe. They definitely tried. They were playing American hip hop music, which does not fit the international theme. We got the three course dinner, which was $60 each plus tip. The food was good but did not feel like it was worth the price. For appetizers, we got the Mochiko Chicken and Crispy Pork Belly in Pasilla Sauce. We liked the chicken a lot, and it came with a sweet mango chutney and spicy mayo sauce. The pork belly was alright. It was pretty standard. For entrees, we got the Singaporean Shrimp Laksa and Nigerian Suya Skewers. I liked the noodles and curry, but the fish cakes were not that appetizing. The skin was much bigger than the meat inside, so it would weirdly inflate or deflate. The shrimp came with their tails on, so I got my hands slimy with curry. I did not personally try the beef, but I was informed it was a 3.85/5 and 4/5 with the sauce. The laksa was a decently sized portion, but the beef was quite the small portion with a few chunks and a bit of rice and tomatoes. For dessert, we enjoyed the Orange Torta Caprese and New Orleans Bourbon Bread Pudding. I was kind of confused why the chocolate cake was called torta. It was very small but nice and rich. The orange flavour was strong. The bread pudding, on the other hand, was very big. Although it wasn't pudding. There was a large piece of the bread in whole form. It was delicious. I did not taste bourbon.
