    Wild-Caught Grouper & Jumbo Crab
    Renee S.

I walked over from the convention center after a day of sessions. Atmosphere is alive with conversation. The kitchen is open so you can see the servers picking up the food. I didn't see anything sitting. Seemed very efficient. I ordered the grouper, lump crab and shrimp with carrots. Everything was spiced just right and perfectly cooked. The carrots with the pistachios had just enough bite to them. The waitress recommended the grouper and I'm glad she did. Only thing that took longer than expected was my old fashioned from the bar but she did come by and apologized for the delay. Prices are more a $$$ to me than a $$. I had read that the servings were small but not the case for my meal.

Good seafood. Good selection on the menu. Service was good, we got seated right away. I got the catfish Opelousas (catfish, oysters and shrimp) it was good but way too salty for my taste. I enjoyed the oysters and shrimp the most. Oysters were cooked just right.

I live in California and we don't have a Pappadeux's out here so anytime I go to Houston, it's always my first stop. The food was outstanding (per usual) but I'm leaving this review because my waiter Ahmed was FANTASTIC. This man refilled drinks without us having to ask him, he gave us space when we needed it and I didn't have to ask him to do anything because he already anticipated our needs. I've never had a waiter that was so kind and efficient and just plain good at his job.

Possibly the best seafood I've had. The grouper was absolutely cooked a perfection. I asked for them to make it double blackened and spicy, and they added extra red chilies on top of which really did make it spicy. Service was very friendly. I recommend getting reservations.

Don't get me wrong, the food and the atmosphere was AMAZING and the staff were very polite / professionally. The only reason why I gave 4 stars was because for the amount of that one dish it could be a better serving size (it was almost $50).

I was not expecting such a delicious restaurant right at the convention center. No parking spaces for the restaurant. We got takeout since the wait for in person dining was too long. They had an open kitchen where you can see the staff preparing food. The roasted oysters came with a layer of roasted Parmesan cheese on top. While very oily, it was delicious and no stinky or metallic flavor. The crab and spinach dip was good while hot, although I wish it had more lumps of crab since it was hard for me to find the crab pieces. The pasta Mardi Gras was also pretty good. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the sausage a little crispy on the edges. The medium fried shrimp was a good amount and came with French fries. I liked how they cut the shrimp down the middle to spread out the meat. It came with cocktail sauce and ketchup.

This review is based solely on the to go experience and NOT THE FOOD..... I Ordered a To Go Catered order of the Mardi Gras pasta which was suppose to be chicken only as it was for a department lunch seafood allergies and no pork diets . I went to pickup it up curbside the pasta had eveything I didn't want inside . Manager offered a gift card and told me they would get my order right I waited for an additional 20 mins to ONLY to be giving another Mardi Gras pasta with crawfish tails and chicken I was going to Call For the manager again but Too much time already passed I was already late for the luncheon and needed to get back so I drove off. Needless to say I doubt I'd ever order Togo from there again. I spoke so highly of the pasta that some of my colleagues couldn't even get a taste because of the seafood. Do understand This won't stop me From dinning in at pappadeaux as I love the food !!

Went to Houston for a weekend and was pressed to visit Pappadeaux! Loved the experience and the food! The catfish was fresh and this was the best red beans and rice I've ever had. Our server was great and attentive. Looking forward to eating here again

Service was fantastic! I will say I ended up with 4 sodas without ever realizing I got a new one. I got the special and just wow! It was beyond delicious. The salmon was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I ended up eating the entire dish which rarely happens. This location is very busy with all the different conferences and events going on nearby, but the service never faltered. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting this area.

Honestly the food at this location is good but overall this staff is a bit careless. I ordered water and had to get it replaced 3 times because every cup had some kind of dirt or other particles floating in the water. I eventually gave up and opted for a bottled drink. The spinach and crab dip was great but going back to the carelessness, there was a big onion shell in it I had to remove. The bartender was doing her best but was visibly overwhelmed which led to forgetting to bring out certain items. She ended up getting help so that problem was resolved. I would just be aware at this location because I have a feeling based on my experience that it's not as clean as other ones so just inspect your food and drinks a little.

Came for a late lunch and sat at the bar. Bartender took my drink and food order at the same time. The shrimp came out within about 15 minutes or ordering but the bartender had not brought me my drink. He checked on how my food was and I reminded him of my drink order. He was kind and made it for me then, otherwise this would have been a 5 star experience because the shrimp bruchette was INCREDIBLE and the drink was delicious. The place was super busy but the dining room is big beautiful, would be a great spot for a dinner date

Came here over the weekend...had a great time. I sat at the bar and Dee took care of me. The manager was super nice, I cant remember his name. The more it rain the more I relax and order more food and drinks. The oysters were so fresh, I loved the butter nut squash.

Excellent customer service, beautiful clean establishment. This restaurant is always packed but service moves quickly. Our server was great from making suggestions regarding dishes and none of her recommendations disappointed. We celebrated my 16 year old nephew's birthday so it is family friendly. Portions were great. We had the shrimp and crab dip, roasted oysters, seafood platter and pasta. The only complaint about the meal was the catfish had a tainted taste. But issue was rectified. The stuffed crab and shrimp were very meaty and the oysters were all fantastic. I also got an adult beverage and the bartender was not shy at all. The loaded bake potato was amazing. We did have reservations but were seated quickly. I would definitely return. My nephew also got a birthday dessert.

Just kidding LOL that didn't happen! Anyway, back to the point, sorry.. I like to mess around a little. I wasn't that hungry because I had food yesterday I ordered a kids cheeseburger burger with fries, a kids meal chicken tender with fries, a farmhouse burger, and the half chicken with biscuits. I also had the his biscus lemonade. Needless to say--well actually, quite needing to say since this is a review after all--the food was pretty good. Prices were a little crazy but it's become all to normal in this day and age. As for the food, I ordered a kids cheeseburger burger with fries , a kids meal chicken tender.. don't feel like saying all this again. As for the food, the service was pretty good I guess. The girl servers were pretty smart. The boy servers were a little less smart. Every time the guys brought food, they either stood there looking around, or attempted to place the food on top of other plates or napkins that were on the tiny table. I suggest maybe a boot/concentration program for the guys so they can concentrate a lil more. Ok, it's time for me to go. I'm gonna go to sleep after all the food. I forgot to mention what I ordered. kids cheeseburger burger with fries, a kids meal chicken tender with fries, a farmhouse burger, and the half chicken with biscuits. I also had the his biscus lemonade. The half chicken was obviously what they tried the hardest in. There were 4 types of sauce with it. They were all pretty good, but I didn't eat the chicken. The chicken tasted incredible-- so much so that I finished it completely. But I don't like eating around bones, I find it primitive. I'm more of a chicken tender kinda guy if you know what I mean. Oh yeah and for the food, I had a his biscus lemonade. It was SO good. Alright. And that is the end of my review. I hope I did t forget to list my food items because I've gotten hate messages calling me weird. Anyway, I'm out chat. Thank you to my faithful followers. Continue to look forward to my honest reviews. P.S. the beginning part was not a joke it actually happened. We went on a Saturday for lunch. Hopefully this was just a one-off, but if you're looking for good Cajun boiled crawfish, this is not it. We started off with 6 lbs (group of 4) of their regular crawfish. First off, they put the Cajun seasoning on outside/shell (!!), which is a cardinal sin for Cajuns. They also minimally seasoned the boil, so the meat was lacking salt and flavor. We ordered 3 more lbs with the "wet sauce" (garlic butter), thinking the lack of flavor may be attributed to this being the first-ish batch of the day. Nope, the second batch was even less seasoned than the first. The sauce was good, but it didn't make up for the unseasoned meat. The crawfish were a good size, at least... Come on guys, I expect more from a Gulf Coast seafood restaurant!

There were also a lot of families, which was cute, although I personally am not buying my daughter $16 fries. Our waitress was personable and made great suggestions, especially regarding mocktails. This is important for non-drinkers because there are no mocktails on the drink menu, but the bartender will craft something you will like. Even my friend who normally avoids mocktails was very impressed. Apps: Crab Hushpuppies - 10/10: Crunchy, crabby, and came with a fantastic honey butter sauce. Caviar Tater Tots - 6/10: Well done -- they literally whipped the potato on the inside -- but at $37, you are paying more for the caviar, which was missing that fresh, creamy saltiness you normally seek. You also only get 4 tots. I would just get two orders of the crab hushpuppies. Mains: Chicken - 10/10: The truffle sauce was dreamy, and I think they could sell it on the streets. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender, and the dish also came with flaked truffles on top. I normally do not order chicken out, but this dish makes me wonder what I've been missing. Lobster fettuccini - 7/10: I don't think this is the dish to get here. The lobster didn't taste the freshest, and it also didn't have a lot of lobster to begin with. The sauce was well done and clearly made with lobster stock. I would come back, but there are dishes that shine much brighter than others.

Now my eggs and bacon were fantastic, but those are two breakfast staples that are kind of hard to mess up. Now the service?! Oh my, the service was amazinggggggg. I sat at the bar and I felt like I had the entire bar staff catering to me. They definitely excel in that regard!!! Constantly checking in, glass always stayed full, and anything I requested came with a quickness. My griddle cakes, bacon, eggs, and a glass of bubbles came to $47, which is super expensive for breakfast. The price tag just isn't worth it for me to try again, honestly. But I'm glad I came! Their menu is very, VERY limited, so if you're a picky eater you may want to check their offerings first before venturing here.
