Called in for a last minute reservation of 30+ people after My Grandfather's funeral. Not only did they accommodate us all, everything went seamless. Because such a last minute lunch, we were recommended by Fermin to go with the 'family style' serving, and it's couldn't have gone any smoother. We ordered appetizers to calm all of hunger, we then ordered Chicken parm, halibut, and steak tip dishes for all the tables, with side dishes to complement them. Everything was delicious !!! Place is warm and cozy, with a small little bar. Julia was exceptional and didn't miss a beat the whole time with what could've been overwhelming for many. Lucky to have her. The bread comes out hot from the oven. Crispy crust and hot moist doughy center. Best bread! Mussels with champagne sauce: I've heard of mussels with white wine sauce but never with champagne sauce. The mussels were big and juicy. The fusilli is homemade. Definitely get that. I had mine with bolognese sauce. The pasta was cooked to perfection. My brother-in-law finished his whole plate of seafood scampi. Nothing was left. Portions are pretty good. The rest of us couldn't finish our meal. Veal Parmesan. Veal had a bite to it. The meat was pounded thin. The sauce is delicious. Our server, Julia, is a doll. Very hard working. She was seating people, taking orders, answering phones, bringing our food over--all with a smile. It's hard to find good people that work like her. She's a keeper. I had mentioned that I loved the bread. I got extra bread when I had my food packed. I was so happy! We will definitely be back. Today, my family and I visited **Abbondanza Ristorante**, and from the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the owners, which made us feel instantly welcome. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful. She patiently answered all our questions about the menu and was very knowledgeable about the dishes. It was especially helpful that she spoke both Spanish and English fluently, making communication easy and comfortable for everyone at the table. The food was absolutely delicious. The crostini appetizers were the best I've had--crispy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Our main courses, which included both pasta and fish, were served in generous portions and cooked to perfection. Every bite was full of flavor. We ended our meal with a **delicious dessert** recommended by our waitress, and it was truly the perfect way to finish. Let me start with me and my wife eat here dinner frequently. The food, service, and price are all excellent!! They have nice small intimate dining room. When they added breakfast I was very happy to hear it. They are right around the corner from where I live. I'm sorry to say breakfast is not up to par yet. The little touches that make dinner there so nice were lacking. Service was slow but cordial as always. The dining room was chilly. The food was average. I had steak and eggs. Both were cooked to perfection but the steak was tough and fatty. Unrecognizable cut of beef. Toast was served dry and we had to ask for for butter which was frozen. This Restaurant recently changed owners. A group of us went for lunch last week, and all chose different meals, Veal, Shrimp Scampi, Chicken and Pasta. Everyone of us enjoyed our food! They serve a nice loaf of warm bread and butter before the meal that is really good. We also had Tiramisu for dessert and it was delicious! As for the service, they have a long-time waitress that is consistently good. She is quick, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Also, it's nice and clean in there! We love this place. Last night we went for Valentine's Day and it was spectacular. The calamari was fresh and well seasoned, the warm homemade bread is AMAZING! I got the chicken piccata and my husband got the chicken parm. The portions are enormous and super fresh and so so tasty. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the staff , even though spectacularly busy, was attentive and helping each other out with tables. For the quality and quantity of food the prices can't be beat. I have never been served a larger portion of pasta from any restaurant until I came here!!! It was very tasty (although I prefer quality over quantity), but the Alfredo sauce could have been a bit more flavorful; some more salt would have done it. If I could choose less than one star I would. The ravioli were obviously frozen and not cooked all the way through. Then whoever made the pizza either thought it was funny or had never made a pizza in their entire life as all the toppings were separate but still on the pizza. I love Italian food and due to that I end up in the North End quite often. Abbondanza is better than some of the restaurants in the North End and truly the best thing Everett has to offer. If you live in this area and haven't gone to Abbondanza then you must go! The place is similar to North End restaurants in that the size of the restaurant isn't huge. The service has always been great with a very friendly wait staff. Most important to note is the quality of the food is superb. For appetizers I would recommend the eggplant rolatini or mussels. They are both equally amazing. If you'd rather have soup then I'd recommend a cup of their pasta fagiolie. For entrees, if they have the beef braciole and homemade rigatoni special then you must order it. It is so incredible and definitely one of my favorites. Some of my other favorite entrees are the butternut squash ravioli, chicken and shrimp Romano with homemade fusilli, and the frutti dimare. Each dinner also comes with a garden salad and their homemade dressing on the side. The bread they serve before dinner is hot and probably the best bread in any restaurant. Seriously, I could just come here for wine and bread (I'm a carbaholic). ;)For desserts I would recommend the cannoli and an espresso martini. read more

We had a wonderful meal here while visiting my daughter in Boston. The food was exceptionally good and the service prompt and professional. Our party of four, three adults and my young granddaughter, enjoyed entrees that included a seafood dish, a chicken dish, and two pasta dishes. Each of the entrees was delicious and the portions are generous. Desserts of cannoli and chocolate mousse were also tasty. I've been here several times as I live around the corner and I can't say anything bad about my experiences here. The food was always well done and flavorful. The bread is pretty yummy and it's hard to resist filling up on it before the food comes. Also they give you a little piece of flat bread with cheese on it as part of the bread basket and it is pretty damn delectable. Highlights that I've had are: Sautéed beans and escarole Mussels in a yummy white sauce Stuffed veal chops (they have a few variations, I've tried the special which was stuffed with prosciutto and cheesy goodness and I forget what else) Pork chops with vinegar peppers and potatoes (YUM) Baked haddock with a crabmeat and spinach stuffing. The portions are generous. You will definitely bring something home, or at least I usually have! I've actually never tried dessert in this place because I've always been so full by the end of the meal and I have absolutely no more room. The food is moderately priced in my opinion. Compared to the other food places in the neighborhood, they are on the higher priced side. Appetizers run about $12-$15 ish Entrees run around mid to high $20's range. I forget about the pasta and pizza. That being said, I feel you definitely get what you pay for. I have never left feeling like I didn't get my money's worth. I find the pricing very fair for the good quality of the food, not to mention the quantities too =P Service is overall good. The servers are polite and knowledgeable about the food. Also they seem eager to want to get things right for you, as they are very accommodating to substitutions or requests. At times it can be a little slow, but I can let it slide. The servers try their best to be attentive but can get overwhelmed when it gets busy. Still it's not necessarily a negative, more an observation. First time 12/19/2019 Great food and service in a cozy nicely presented setting. Cloth tablecloths, tastefully furnished. Just a real solid joint with a little upscale feel and a good vibe. I saw lots of patrons engaged in friendly conversation with the waitstaff- You could tell that many were repeat, longtime customers and longtime staff. Although this was our first time, we felt right at home with the staff and crowd. I started out with a really solid martini ( or two) in a nice high, wide stem glass, and they poured a plentiful glass of Chard for my wife. I ordered the special Beef Braciole, and my bride chose the veal marsala. They started us off with some fresh, crusty bread, butter, evoo and a pair of very nicely put together fresh salads, accompanied by a fantastic house-made creamy italian dressing- Terrific! Both entrees were delivered in good timing and a proper pace after we completed our salads. Both entrees were excellent, and the portions were plentiful. We just got to Boston, this is our first time here and we were starving! We asked the hotel for recommendations and they told us about this great Italian place. We noticed on the menu there was no baked ziti. We called them and asked if they had baked ziti and the women said it's not on the menu but they could make it for us!! What a perfect decision, we got there and the waitress that helped us was a very happy lady. She took our order and I couldn't pick a bottle of nice wine, so she told me to trust her and try ( Brachetto d'acqui ) I did good in trusting her...The Perfect match for my risotto ai funghi!!! And my husband loved the pasta, chicken& shrimp cooked in perfect way! And the salads as primo piatto, sooo yummyyyyyy!! And let's dont forget the bread and the butter on side!!! We had a great dinner here tonight. What a hidden gem in Everett. Feels like you are in the north end but with better prices. Romantic ambiance, clean restaurant, great spot for a date night!! We had a lovely bottle of wine that was affordably priced. Nice big goblet sized red wine glasses. A good selection of red wines to choose from both bottle and by the glass options. I had the sea bass special. Sea bass was cooked perfectly! Homemade pasta was amazing! The sauce was very good but I could have used more sauce on my dish. My boyfriend had the red sauce and that was amazing. I am going with the red sauce next time here. The person next to me had the veal chop and it looked incredible, like so good you would write home about it. The waitress was very friendly and made you feel at home!! My friends have come to rely on me for recommendations for Friday night dining, and Yelp led me to this Everett spot. We got there early, around 6, and we were one of only three parties. We got bread quickly, which was warm and good. Then a waitress came over and read no fewer than ten entree specials, all of which were complicated and came with different side dishes. Like, really? If you're going to have that many specials, why don't you just print them out? I couldn't concentrate on any of them long enough to figure out if I wanted them before she went on to the next one. Annoying. Anyways, I got a glass of wine, which was a little pricey but good. I ordered the gnocchi and was somewhat disappointed. I saw one of the other reviewers on Yelp said the gnocchi was the best she'd ever had, so I had high hopes, but they were somewhat of a let down. Not to say they were bad, but they certainly weren't in my top ten gnocchi dishes and they were far from the best I'd ever had. I should have opted for the fusilli with broccoli rapi. My dining guests seemed semi-pleased with their food. My biggest problem, though, was the service. We had somewhere to be, and it was clear that we were done with our meals. We had to ask for our check not once, not twice, but THREE times before it came, and that all took more than twenty minutes. It's not because they were swamped with people or shorthanded or anything; there were four waitresses on and only six occupied tables by the time we were done. I just find that kind of service pretty unacceptable. We ended up being late for our engagement because of it. So while the food was ok, I don't think Abbondanza is a place I would return to. Haven't been to this establishment in a few years. Not sure what's changed as owners and cooks are the same. Mid week I went for dinner with a party of 3. I used a valupak coupon for buy one entree get one free. The waitress advised me there was a cap of $12. I was surprised and when she showed my it was indeed in the small fine print. What baffles me is they don't offer many IF ANY entrees in that price range or lower. I certain don't mind paying full price for quality food however their coupon was extremely misleading which to me is inexcusable. This place is so cute and small (apparently it has a downstairs...?) and the walls as you enter are stacked with framed reviews and ZAGAT commendations for the amazing food they serve. I came here earlier in the year with my boyfriend and his brother. His brother lives right around the corner and has ordered from here and eaten here several times. He wanted to treat us to the best Italian food within walking distance from his house. Sooo... we drove here! The menu was uncomplicated, in that it was orderly, and all of the dishes sounded amazing. I asked Pat for recommendations, and he said everything he'd tried was amazing. Not helpful in picking an entree, but nice to hear all the same. I was astounded that I liked everything that came to the table. All of the people who served us were really really nice. There was a younger woman who kept up with our water and cleaned up after each course, and our main waitress, who offered the specials at a pace you could actually comprehend (something that most waitresses DON'T DO!) and made sure we had everything from bread to tiramisu! We met the owner, can't remember his name at this point, but he helped us get a good red wine (which Pat and I polished off two bottles of.... fairly easily...) and was quick with the grappa and lemoncello shots at the end of the meal. We had sauted calimari (which is sooooo much better than when it's fried!) with hot peppers. It was amazing. It made up for every iffy-to-bad experience I've had with calimari in the past... which happened to be allll my experiences had been. I got veal with cheese and avocado. Surprisingly good. My boyfriend got veal with cheese and prosciutto and more cheese. His brother got fruitti del mare - also good. I can't wait to go back and taste some more items off the menu (you could go for two months, I think without eating the same thing twice, and that would probably include lunches!) it's a bit pricey, but I feel like I could make an acception for a date night or something like that. read more

As good or better than the North End. No frills inside but more importantly, this offers incredible, authentic Italian food. We ordered the Eggplant Rollatini appetizer (worth 5 stars by itself)- it was the best I have ever had, hands down. It was a mouthgasm of perfectly tender eggplant filled with creamy ricotta, parm, fresh basil and spinach, swimming in a zesty, clearly homemade, fragrant tomato sauce. The Grilled Calamari Salad was a beautiful platter of romaine lettuce with a generous serving of beautifully seasoned, tender, delicately grilled baby octupi, roasted red peppers, a mildly spicy pepper, and high grade balsamic vinegar (not oily, tasteless dressing, but pure... rich... balsamic). There is a very rude middle aged grumpy waitress who has waited my tables the past 2 times I have been here. I used to order from here all the time for delivery to my parent's house when I visit but my last trip to this restaurant has put a pause on that. The waitress is very condescending and talks to you as if you are a criminal. I admit, I came in dressed in workout clothes, but I believe everyone should be treated with respect. I work in hedge funds and some of our biggest clients dress very casual to avoid any public attention. FYI: the prices to eat in the restaurant are much higher than their take out menu.
