We decided to go to North End on a Saturday with no reservation and found this spot. They seated us quickly at a nice window table. Service was great, they were quick and friendly. We ordered drinks & calamari right away- which was excellent (not pictured). We split two pasta dishes, Frutti Di mare (with spicy red sauce) and the Fettuccine Norcina- both were delicious!

We came here after our Lyft driver recommended it and we're so glad we did. We had a party of seven and the service was excellent from start to finish. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. We ordered the grilled octopus, calamari, Australian rack of lamb, pollo parmigiana, linguine vongole and pollo saltimbocca, everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place!

The food was absolutely great no complaints there. But I want to really complement our server Conner. He was extremely attentive without being over baring and really made our experience this much better. He kept making sure we were doing good and made sure if we were having a conversation to lightly check on us without ending our conversation. The ambiance was nice the candle lit dinner was great and really added to the overall experience 10/10 for Conner.

Went to dinner on a Saturday evening with friends. There were three of us and we all got pasta dishes. There was a slight error with our order and the food came out very late. Our waiter was quick to offer dessert to make sure we were happy which was nice. Not all the pasta was homemade, but the manicotti was. Overall it was good vegetarian food, there was a nice filling and they hand cranked the Parmesan cheese. The bread that came out prior to the meal was good. It wasn't the best Italian I've ever had but it was solid.

In my opinion it was pretty good food. The wait time was decent, about an hour. My complaint is the loudness of the restaurant as it's small so the conversations tend to be louder. It was still a great visit. I recommend the calamari and the pollo parmigiana.

We went here for our Easter dinner. The pasta was phenomenal and they even had gluten free options. Our server Jackson was also great and so attentive!

I've lived in Boston for years and always visit the same North End spots. I wanted to try something different and heard good things about Artu and i'm so happy with my choice! If you ask, they will make the chicken parm with vodka sauce and it's the BEST thing ever! Could not recommend it enough. Everyone else in my group also really enjoyed their meals. Will definitely be back.

scampi dish. $28 , it's only shrimp noodles& sauce; could have been dressed more (spinach, tomatoes) I had to add parm, hot pepper flakes

I ordered the Espresso Martini, which I learned the restaurant is famous for and after tasting it I understand while. I want to put the disclaimer that I am allergic to nuts, so I didn't have it how the restaurant traditionally prepares it (using Amaretto) but it still tasted excellent. The Espresso Martini was perfectly balanced between bitter and sweet and the had the perfect amount of foam on top. For my meal I got the Shrimp pasta with Zucchini. The shrimp was tender and the noodles were cooked to a perfect al dente. The zucchini added a nice contrast to the rich tomato sauce and helped make the dish feel light even though it was a bowl of pasta. My only complaint that the restaurant is very dim especially upstairs. Some people at our table joked that they might need to use their phone flashlight to read the menu, so if you are someone who struggles to see in dimly lit places keep that in mind.

Unfortunately, this most recent visit didn't live up to the high standards I've come to expect. While a few dishes hit the mark, the majority of our order was a letdown: Tinned Octopus: Surprisingly chewy and lacked seasoning. Mushroom Toast: The texture was rubbery, and the flavor was completely drowned out by an aggressive amount of balsamic. Beets: Had a very overwhelming cumin flavor that threw the dish out of balance. Roast Beef Slider: Served cold and felt a bit uninspired. It's such a cute, intimate space, and I've had so many wonderful nights here in the past, but the execution was just off this time around. I'm hoping it was just an off night, but it was definitely disappointing given how much I usually love this place!

Our server was super friendly and attentive, and she even offered a few samples so we could try before committing to a full glass, which we really appreciated. For food, we shared the hot dog with fried oysters to pair with the wine, and it was surprisingly delicious and a fun, elevated bar bite. Overall, the experience was fantastic -- great wine, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Pricing is definitely on the higher end, with wine glasses around $20 and the hot dog at $14, but the quality and experience justify it. I'd absolutely come back for another wine night.

We were a little nervous as they weren't busy like some other restaurants in the North End, but my family and I were pleasantly surprised with how just solid food the food was! They make their pasta fresh in-house and it's just amazing. Their chicken parmigiana was not dry or overcooked. Their spaghetti and meatballs was classic but not basic tasting. Met 4 colleagues at The Red Fox for dinner, a recommendation from a friend of my colleague. Tough to find initially and very unsuspecting upon arrival. As you enter the front door (think like walking into a foyer of a small apartment building) you go down a flight of stairs into the restaurant. Then wow, this place is awesome! Small entry way into the restaurant with a hostess immediately greeting you. The bar is your first view of the place and it was packed. I'd describe it as dimly light, great atmosphere and ambience, almost a speakeasy feel. I'd recommend a reservation. The hostess walked us to our table, walking along the bar line with small 2-4 top tables to our left, we then turned left into the main dining room. 5 of us and we were seated at a horseshoe style table, plenty of room for up to 6 adults. Service was instant, she was friendly and very knowledgeable. We ordered cocktails and a couple apps. The drinks arrived along with bread service. They added small side plates with oils and olives, a nice touch. The cocktails were fantastic as was the homemade bread. A unique twist with my cocktail (kettle one & soda), was the single ice cube that was a long rectangle cube that was so clear you couldn't see it! The cubes length was the same as the tall glass it was served in and didn't melt. For dinner I listened to our server who recommended the Chicken Parmigiana with a chefs twist using a vodka infused sauce, this dish was amazing! My colleagues all shared the same feelings that this meal was spectacular. Highly recommend The Red Fox!
