We were camping in the area and wanted pizza. Abbys has always been a great place to get pizza. Not anymore. We ordered a small thin crust barbecue chicken pizza and it was awful. The crust was decent, but the sauce was overpowering and very tomatoey. The cheese was barely melted and the chicken was rubbery. I have had better frozen pizza from the grocery store. And to top it off, we both don't feel quite right after our meal. Very disappointed. read more

Ate on a Tuesday night while camping at Jessie Honeyman State Park. Came in around 8 PM and there were quite a few people in. Ordered the large potato appetizer and a giant pizza ( adult and 2 ravenous teens). Ordered and got the potatoes first..wow huge order ..tasted nice and plenty dipping sauce. 15 mins later pizza came out..it was very nice lots of toppings. Customer service only applies to the people they know. We ordered 2 pizzas online to pick up because no one would answer the phone. We were given a 20 min quote time to pick up. 20 min later they had not made our order yet. At 1 hour they still had not made them. I sat and waited. When it hit an hour, I explained to the very rude lady making the pizzas it had been an hour and she got very pissy and rudely said "what do you want me to do? The time was wrong! Were making it now!" No apology. They made no attempt to right the situation! Worst service ever!!! I guess they can get away with it in a small town w not much choice! Pizza is not worth the wait nor getting yelled that literally by the purse behind the counter when you finally get your pizza!! I ordered a pizza online and went to pick it up on Saturday afternoon, February 24, 2024 at 3:00 pm. There were only two customers in the dining room, so it wasn't busy at all. I was not greeted when I arrived even though there were two female employees standing behind the counter. I picked up my pizza and went home. When I opened the box, I noticed one of the toppings I ordered, and paid for, was missing. I called the restaurant and talked to the manager who sounded annoyed that I had called. No apology was made, only a response to make an adjustment to my bill. I know mistakes can be made when the restaurant is busy, however, it wasn't busy at all. I asked if I could just come pick up the topping that was left off and the manager agreed. I drove back and picked it up from another employee who also seemed annoyed that I had come back. Another pizza restaurant here in town always is friendly and greets you when you walk in. It's always a good idea to let customers know their business is appreciated. Maybe the next time I go to Abby's the employees will be a little friendlier. Good customer service goes a long way. read more

I may have caught them on an exceptionally rough and busy night, but I witnessed some of the worst customer "service" I've every encountered- and that's coming from someone who works in customer service. It was uncomfortable just to be in the restaurant waiting for my pizza, which was average. I came in to order a pizza for 2 on 08/07/21 and spent about an hour and 45 mins witnessing incredibly stressed and rude staff while just wanting to order my pizza and get out of there. The ones that weren't engaging horribly (yelling, cursing - at customers- , yelling and cursing about how she hopes she gets fired AND slamming doors in the case of one female staff member) were clearly just trying to keep it together that night. I lost track of how any times I thought to myself "I cannot believe this woman ISN'T getting fired right now." Nobody was enjoying their Saturday night there, except perhaps for the balloon artist clown that was inexplicably and very awkwardly there and kind of trying to take some of the tension off by being really nice to both customers and staff. After watching the staff be uncivil and crass to quite a few people, I spent the rest of my 1+ hour patiently waiting for my pizza outside. I got my pizza after being told twice, 10 mins apart what it was in the oven and almost done, kindly thanked the staff, and left as quickly as I could. All things considered, I have a lot of sympathy for the employees working that night, as they were clearly too busy to handle the amount of business and also had to deal with a couple- specifically one- employee who absolutely coming undone but I honestly don't think that excuses the bad experience even I had as a customer who was understanding and patient while all this went on. Do yourself a favor and when you're in Florence on a Saturday night- go anywhere but here. read more

Abby's has always been our go to place for pizza here in Florence and we've always been happy with the service and quality. Tonight we had a not-so-good experience. The person who took our order had a loose cough and was not covering his mouth. He coughed right onto our pitcher of beer. Additionally, he was handing out plastic glasses, setting them rim down on unclean surfaces. He was clearly in training, but REALLY needs guidance in the "sanitary" department. Also, one of the TV's was tuned to a very partisan and divisive "news" station. We won't be back. Employee training is one issue, but it's bad business to televise partisan news. I have had Abby's deliver pizza to me during the pandemic three or four times. The pizza has been fabulous, as has their greek salad. Big Yum for both. The pizza has been flavorful with lots of veggies, as I am a vegetarian, and has been delivered with all the condiments I could ever wish for. The driver was extremely helpful and courteous, which has given me a wonderful experience every time I have ordered. Thank you Abby's!! And, good luck to you during this trying time. read more

We ordered pizza on the phone at 6:30, were told it would be ready in twenty minutes. I arrived at 7:00. It became obvious in the next few minutes that they hadn't even started our order. Four minutes later our pizzas were still waiting to be dressed before baking and the Manager was not even trying to get ours going. So, at that time I told them to forget it. I'll find the Owner/Manager tomorrow try to get a refund. I can't believe they took our money and never started the order. I will never be a customer there again! Arrived in Florence about 7pm on a Wednesday evening and so many places were closed/not answering their phones that we were struggling to find a non-fast food dinner. This is the best pizza in Florence. They delivered us a hot pizza with a huge amount of toppings right to our RV site. The driver was nice and gave us a copious amount of crushed red peppers and Parma cheese. We had half of it and had half leftover for two people. The ingredients were very tasty and fresh. It was a'ight. I guess. It wasn't anything special, but it wasn't bad. It existed. We had taco, vegetarian and some kind of combo pizzas, so we did try quite a few different ones. The taco pizza was a bit short on sauce and all of the pizzas had a not-so-great crust. Again, though, it was fine. I have a feeling Florence has a better pizza place somewhere in town. I'm sure that there's a place or two downtown that has good pizza, I'm just not sure they'd be considered "pizza places" but more something along the lines of "restaurants that also have pizza". I was impressed by some of the other food and options here, so I have to think they can do pizza better. I know it's a small chain, so it's not quintessentially Florence or anything. We have had great pizza from Chicago, New York City and even Old Forge PA. While Abby's is like none of them it was awesome in its own right. Less a review more of an agreement with another review that your progressive move to pre-made sour ranch dressing is killing my nostalgia and absolutely killing my purcgase. I remember when there was fresh made ranch creamy and delicious, not disgusting and sour like the HR Ranch at the grocery store... Please fix, this is a huge issue for you as you have a lot of competition in my market city/region, and it absolutely affects my pizza buying decision... IT IS SERIOUSLY A NO GO ISSUE!!! Ate here yesterday and had the pizza that was on special. This pizza was very good. The amount of toppings was excellent, the crust was excellent and it was cooked perfectly. My only complaint was the sauce. It tastes right out of a bottle or can. It is not bland, but tastes like the ketchup of marinara sauces and kills the over all pleasure and taste of the pizza. I will eat here again with my son, but am going to ask for no sauce and that will make it a 5 star for me. My husband & I went in for lunch today. The staff seemed grumpy & harried. We ordered the 1/2 sandwich (turkey, bacon) salad, and drink special. The total came to $15.90. My husband handed the girl $16. She didn't even try to give him back his change. The sandwich was very good. The salad was your basic Iceburg lettuce with tomato. This place is my go to when I make dinner! I also make time to get a couple of games in at the arcade while I wait. Having grown up in Oregon, but now living in California, I miss Abby's and another pizza joint in my hometown. During a work trip throughout Oregon, we stopped in here for lunch while in Florence. The employee that took our order was friendly, and brought our personal pizzas out to us when they were ready. My coworkers both had all meat personal pizzas, and they were happy with it. I went with their taco pizza, which I think is excellent. The same employee that took our order asked how everything was as we left, keeping the friendly service from the time we walked in until we left. read more

The kids got a chance to play with a variety of games and get some energy out since the place only had one other table occupied...and it really was much needed. The staff was super friendly, everyone was very welcoming, one girl in particular started talking to us about the Raiders since my husband had a hat on...she was our fav! I was most excited about returning to Abby's for their pizza, spuds and WHITE SAUCE! but I was just informed that the white sauce has been changed. It's now sent from corporate!!! Normally I love Abby's, and the staff there is good. My complaint and reason for the low rating is the recent decision to do away with the store made wonderful white sauce and to replace it with a pre-packaged version. It does not taste the same and if not corrected will ruin my future Abby's dining experiences. Again, local staff and food is great but the packaged junk will not do.
