So I'm typing this as I am in front of the business waiting for my food. To be fair, a business should be rated in Atleast 3 categories. Cleanliness/friendliness, convinience, and quality/quantity of food. 2 stars so far for the fact the the same people tendering the cash are also cooking! All three people in there. Right away I can say that is grose. My suggestion would be keep the cooks in the kitchen!! It's typical in any food business. Important note they only take cash! Also, only outdoor seating. I'll be updating my review once I get my food. I'll either boost the rating for taste & quality of food or bring it down. Hope this review helps yelpers

    2 Shrimp tacos

My name is Alex and I love Abby's. There I said it. I've never had a bad item here from the time I walked by and decided randomly to get two shrimp tacos. The great taste continued to the point where talking about it with a friend I had to come back the same day for fish tacos and beef torta and what has to be at least my 6th trip now, when I finally tried the cerviche. They even have surprisingly great fish and chips! The only down sides are: 1. they have the Ole horchata instead of a fresher homemade type, 2. the seating usually leads me to just do take-out instead of eating there and 3. their parking lot is so small only four cars can fit at one time.

Cerviche is amazing. I have also had carne asada tacos and tostadas which are delicious too. And their french fries are hand cut fresh daily...Definitely worth checking out.

The line went outside the building, but it moved decently fast. After ordering you get a number and they will deliver the food to your table. I got a variety of their tacos. Each taco had a unique twist to it, and tasted really good. They also had a cool black tortilla which had a nice texture. I especially like the fried fish one as it had a mellow yet delicious flavor. I also got their cheap chips, and that as well worth the price. Definitely give this place a shot. It does match up to the hype.

The kanpachi tostada was also great, and the uni with scallop was a nice pairing. Fish tacos were good but not as memorable as the raw dishes. Also tried the smoked kanpachi taco but again not outstanding compared to the raw seafood. Their sauces were also good but spicy! The light brown one had a unique flavor to it and was my favorite but also the spiciest so be aware. Price - On the higher end as expected from a Michelin 1 star, but the quality on the raw dishes justifies it. Wouldn't say every dish is worth the price, but most of them were good. Ambience - This is a food hall setup, you order at the counter, get a number, and they'll bring your food to you. Lines can get long, especially since it seems busy most days now. If the wait isn't worth it, there are other solid-looking vendors in the same food hall to check out. Parking - Small paid lot on site, or street parking nearby. It's also next to a DMV in which you can park after 6pm-ish (would double check the signs)

I didn't notice if they have their own parking lot, but they do have plenty of metered parking. They have dining outside, but with the heat we chose to dine inside. We came during the week, and thankfully it was not crowded. Delighted, that we were seated right away. I can just imagine on the weekends, and it being packed with patrons. We started off with the Garlic shrimp as our appetizer. It came with bread plus was shareable, and phenomenal. We highly recommend it. For our main course we ordered the lunch special with the fried shrimp. My husband selected the banana cornbread, and shrimp with grits as a side. The banana cornbread and the shrimp with grits were fire. We also ordered the soft shell crab po-boy. Everything was delicious, and my only suggestion is to change the oil. The fries had not only the taste of old, but the appearance of old oil. The service was great, and all in all a great experience.

The restaurant is very low-lit, intimate, and romantic, making it a great choice for a date night. I could also see it being a nice spot to visit with friends for cocktails or mocktails. They also have a wide variety of wines, which I really appreciated, especially when pairing wine with pasta. For our appetizer, we ordered the burrata, and it was definitely one of my favorite parts of the meal. The cheese was incredibly creamy and lightly salted, which I personally loved. It was served with roasted tomatoes and fresh bread, and the combination was simple but really well executed. We also ordered two pasta dishes, and both were delicious. The pasta was cooked really well--not overly al dente--and the sauces were rich, flavorful, and thick enough to coat the pasta beautifully. You could really taste the depth of flavor in each dish. We also tried the mussels, which was my first time having them. Personally, they weren't my favorite, mainly because of the texture. However, I think that's completely subjective, and someone with a different palate may really enjoy them. I wouldn't consider this a flaw in the restaurant so much as a personal preference. The service was another highlight. Everyone was very kind, attentive, and welcoming throughout the meal, which made the experience even better. My only real criticism would be the seating and tables. The tables were somewhat wobbly and had a few visible scratches, which felt slightly out of place compared with the otherwise beautiful and sophisticated atmosphere. The seating was also quite tight, especially with an appetizer and two pasta dishes on the table. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Oster. The romantic ambiance, delicious pasta, creamy burrata, extensive wine selection, and excellent service made it a memorable dinner. The mussels weren't personally for me, but that's simply a matter of taste. Aside from the tight seating and slightly worn tables, I thought the restaurant was a wonderful spot for a romantic Italian dinner in LA.
