Collins Fish Market is a good place to eat. They probably got most of Rick's Fish Market after they closed down. Collins is better anyway and the staff is 100% more respectful compared to Rick's. The service is great and the ambiance is good too, there is a table to sit down and eat.

The sole dinner with the smallest shrimp you have ever seen and burnt French fries.

Today I paid $61.00 for two fish dinners which is ridiculous and it didn't taste good at all. The Sole had a weird mushy consistency and the fries on both dinners were burnt and seemed like the oil might have been old. The other dinner was snapper. I only gave it two stars because hubby liked the snapper, but hated the fries. We will not be buying from them again.

Not the spot I remember. This was on eot the 1st places I ate at when I moved to LA. Fish was well seasoned, and fried nice and crispy. The shop was clean and appealing. I did notice a lot os miscellaneous items stacked on the counter for sale, which was kinda odd. I was greated immediately and the clerk was friendly, answering my questions. I ordered 1.5 pounds of cooked fish. It had a beautiful appearance, but it smelled a little chemically, which was a turn off. I plated it when I got home, which dissipated aome of the chemilcal smell. It was tasty, seasoning was a little bland. Tarter sauce and hot sauce complimented it well. Not sure if I'll go back, or cook it myself.

I've been hearing good things about this establishment. About a 30-35 min drive from Hollywood. Ordered the three piece red snapper with a side of red beans and rice. Ended up waiting around 15-20 minutes which I didn't mind because I knew it was going to be nice and fresh. Upon arrival, you are able to see the fresh food in the glass before you. They do have seating but it's not designed as a comfortable, dine-in restaurant. More of a grab and go place. The fish was smaller than I expected along with the sides being served in a kid-sized cup. Note I understand why the price is so low. The fish was seasoned well, served hot, and didn't have a fishy aftertaste. I could've passed on the beans. I'll recommend this place for a quick lunch!

The best fried fish shop in the West Adams area, and easily one of the better ones in LA. You choose the fish and quantity that you want and they serve it up to you very quickly for a cheap price. They have a parking lot attached so parking is easy. It was my first time in and I wanted a quick to go dinner option and Collins did not disappoint. Everything was ready in about 10 minutes and had good flavors. They don't have tables inside so this is going to be more of a to-go type of place. I chose the 5 Piece Orange Roughy Combo and also the 10 Piece Medium Shrimp. Both were seasoned well and very good. The orange roughy combo had some large and some small pieces but still I really enjoyed it, although wish it came with more large pieces. Overall some really tasty fried fish and one of the better locations that I have tried in LA. I plan to be back next time I am in the mood for good fried fish option.

Each time time I have came here I have enjoyed the sea food. The can of crab meat is of perfect quality. I can always find my favorite garlic hot sauce. The service is fast and the price of the food fits the portion of food. There is a small area inside to sit and your meal.

Orange roughy, perfectly cooked and moist.

I've ordered a few more times since posting the last review, and something seems to have changed. The first time I ordered it came in a cardboard box that kept it warm without making the food soggy. The oysters were plump and delicious. The last couple times it's just been different. Everything is in plastic boxes that make things soggy during delivery. Oysters aren't nearly as nice. And tonight I ordered sole. Won't do that again. To their credit, the market took the issue seriously when I called and said they'd gotten in a different type of sole. But it just hasn't been the outstanding meal I had the first time. Maybe they've changed suppliers? Still decent. Sadly, just not what it was.

I have been eyeing Yama for quite a while and this past Monday, I was able to find the time to go! Yama Sushi Marketplace reminds of stepping into a Japanese Grocery store. Snacks lined the center of the store, while hot food, pre-packed sushi line the wall. There is also a traditional counter on the right for sashimi and fresh fish cuts. Let's talk food, I got some assorted Nigiri ($11), Salmon Nigiri ($11), some 2 packs of Chicken Yakitori 2 Skewers per pack ($4/pack), tea, and soda. It all came out to $40. Though I don't normally like to pay that much for lunch, I didn't regret it one bit. The sushi tasted so good and fresh, while the skewers were hot and meat tender. Paired with the soda it make my lunch such a nice treat. Parking can be found for free in the facility located in the back and underground. When I visited, there was a lot of parking so no issues there. If you would like to eat there, there are some small tables set up outside for you to enjoy your food. I will definitely come back again as they do have bento options, which after this last visit makes me want to be a regular. Cheers!

3rd time's a charm, and by "charm," I mean I finally confirmed that the problem was never me…read more The first time I purchased king crab from this market, I bought two bags at $175 each. When we cracked the legs open, there was a thick, rubbery, shell-like layer wrapped around the meat. We assumed we had overcooked it, accepted our $350 lesson, and took it on the chin. Against my better judgment, I returned and spent nearly $385 on 2 five-pound bags of king crab and a bag of shrimp. The shrimp were fine. The crab? Same problem. Initially, I steamed a few legs for about 10 minutes and thought, "Okay, maybe I overcooked it again." Thankfully, I had only removed what I planned to eat and kept the remaining legs frozen. Today, I decided to test that theory. I removed three legs, steamed them for 5 minutes.... Literally set my timer for 5 minutes and what do you know, same exact result. As the pictures show, this is not the crab's normal thin membrane. The hard outer shell literally separates from a second, soft shell underneath it, leaving very little edible meat. I paid for king crab, not an expensive scavenger hunt for actual crab meat. At these prices, customers should not be sold poor quality, double-shelled crab legs. After spending more than $700 here across 2 visits and having the same issue each time, I'm officially done conducting experiments. This market has had multiple opportunities, and unfortunately, the crab failed every time. 3rd time's a charm because there definitely won't be a 4th

He came over with the drinks a while later and the Kiwi chowder and have us plenty of time to sit and enjoy the dish before we ordered our main courses. We have always made her food fresh every day, but one day she decided, this steak is not for me, burger, shove it. She even refused chicken. I went on line and talked to friends who said get her deer, and kangaroo. Okay, so I searched and found Wild Fork. I ordered on line because I had no idea they were down the street from me. We cooked it up and she is eating again. We then went there and had the best service you can imagine. Fila knew everything from fat content to calories. We bought Elk, Kangaroo, chicken with all the parts in it, Bison and Venison. Heidi, the dog is in heaven. It all looked so great, we decided to try it. Bison burgers are great. Venison burgers are great. I did not love the Kangaroo, but my husband did and the Elk is just so tasty. And all of it is healthy and you can freeze it for months or just defrost and cook. We can't wait to try their seafood and steaks, but right now it appears we are on the dog's diet. We could not be happier with this place and now go every week. Thank you so much Fila for being so kind and patient. I think my husband has a wee crush. That's fine, Heidi will trade him for meat any day of the week. This is a must stop.

When I was younger, you could actually see the chickens in the back (everything was blocked from view, but you'd hear the machines). Now everything is closed off, but the chicken still tastes fresh and the quality seems the same. My mom swears it's the best chicken you can get. Product Quality & Variety I mostly buy the chicken, but they sell other meats and products too. I've seen duck eggs, regular eggs, and different cuts of meat. Even though I haven't tried their beef, everything looks fresh. Prices can be a little on the higher side, but the quality makes up for it. Food Service Service is always quick and straightforward. You tell them what you want, they get it fast, and you're out. There's usually only one or two people ahead of me, and only during holidays does it really get packed. They accept Apple Pay, cash, and EBT, which is super convenient.
