Brought my parents to this in hopes of doing the Boston Tea Party tour but then it started to pour! The rain was a blessing in disguise though because it allowed us to look around the gift shop and discover the entry to this little gem downstairs! The tea room is set up with old-timey tables and chairs, copper tea vats in the back and games like checkers and tic-tac-toe made from potato sacks! We ordered the bottomless tea and a few pastries and enjoyed the tea room for a little while. Actors dressed in outfits from the colonial period walk around and chat with customers, sharing tidbits of history revolving around the Boston Tea Party. We basically received an unofficial audio tour of the event -- this was probably my favorite part of the experience! If you made it this far out of the heart of the city, you were probably on your way to Yankee's for some lobstah rolls or to the Harpoon Brewery for beer and pretzels? No? Well you are now! This was one of the best parts of my trip to Boston! If you're at all into history, you'll really appreciate this tea room. You can skip the tour and go straight to the tea room - there's a nice selection of teas, pastries and alcoholic beverages. The atmosphere of the tea room is very room warm and friendly. I love that's it's a bit off the beaten path and had only a few other patrons in it when we visited. I highly recommend trying the bottomless tea with a souvenir cup! They wrap up your souvenir mug so it's travel friendly. There were 2 green and 3 black teas available to sample when I went. *Abigail's tea room has a small selection of certified gluten free baked goods! I don't believe they're baked onsite. I was offered a package of gluten free chocolate chip cookies or a brownie for around $4. read more

We did the Tea Party Museum first thing in the morning so we were looking for a quick breakfast. The tea room was perfect. First, the room itself is beautiful. The tea tasting is cool. It's a mix of modern favorites as well as the traditional stuff they drank in the time period. They also have pastries to munch on in the morning. Abigail's tea room was a wonderful experience. I was staying in Boston for the weekend for my birthday and wanted to do as much cool activities as possible. A goal during my trip was to have my own Boston tea party, this was the perfect place to do so. The room was very elegant. My Husband loved the atmosphere and said it was possibly his favorite stop during our trip. They have the 5 teas to choose from. All were on board during the Boston tea party. Three green and two black I believe. Also, you get a bottomless cup for a reasonable price so you can sample them all drink as much tea as your body allows. One stand out factor about this tea room is the the staff is dressed as colonial settlers. There was a lovely lady who gave us a brief history of all the teas available. The excursion ended up being quite informative. Other items sold here includes pastries and boxes of tea. If you like tea and are in Boston, this place is worth your time! read more

Abigail's Tea Room was the perfect spot on a cold Boston day to warm up and relax. I got the unlimited cup of tea, where you serve yourself from 5 options. My fiance and I sat and played some of the games while we warmed up and I enjoyed a variety of teas. The 5 teas are the types thrown overboard during the Boston Tea Party. Abigail's is the tea shop at the top of the Boston Tea Party Museum. You can get an assortment of cookies or scones. We tried my favorite, a blueberry scone. They warmed it up for us and we were able to help ourselves to Devonshire cream and jam. We then opted for a mug to sample the three different types of tea they had. Each table had historic games on it and large windows with views of the waterfront. Its a nice place to take your time and enjoy some tea! read more

This place is adorable. For $14 you can get unlimited tea tasting and two scones. They have tables inside with games, or you can sit outside on a deck and enjoy your tea with a view of the harbor and the tours on the ships. They have an extensive gift shop with tons of teas. read more

Best bang for your buck. Not only do you get to generously try 5 teas thrown into Boston's harbor, but you receive a free history lesson. We've been to fancier, much pricier joints, but this one beats them all. It was unexpected, especially the last tea (a "smoky" flavored tea.) We arrived at 5pm (closes at 6pm) on a Monday, ordered a bottomless cup and a scone for under $10. Then, we played a game of checkers (among other selections). I brought a book with me to read in the tea room. It's a warm place with friendly staff. Seems like the majority of visitors are tourists. Though there are kids and they provide board games on each table for visitors, I was able to read without trouble. You can see a ship anchoring on the shore by the window, I didn't visit the museum, so i imagine that's where people dump the tea? When I visit next time, I'll explore the board games more. Highly enjoyed the colonial games on the table - our favorite was Shut the Box, very addicting. A girl dressed in colonial garb walked around and talked to all of the tables, helped to set the tone. Ordered: - Bottom-less Tea Cup - highly recommend. This was our last spot to visit while we were in Boston. We arrived at 11am (an hour after opening) and the place was not one bit crowded. If you don't need the whole experience (tour of the ship, guide, demonstration)- just head to the tea room. You can see everything from there- and there is even outside seating. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, the set up was lovely and the teas were great. I loved the smoked tea and the green tea that was favorited by Washington. My husband and I had a blast playing all the board games as well. read more

We loved it. The sun was out and the sky stayed blue as we sat upstairs outside overlooking the water with the best tea, scones, lemonade and view imaginable in Boston. Actors on the decking below enthralled patrons with witty bits of history that lead up to the Boston Tea Party. This place is so cute! We initially went here after the tour but it was near their closing time so just got to sample a few of the teas and play a game. My mom and I went back two days later to enjoy some more tea. We did the tea sampler, got two scones and my mom even got a hot cider. It was great! I enjoyed the ambience. Good tea! The teas here were exceptional. We had the 5 tea sampling and found them to be unique and flavorful. The seating is also in a great location on the wharf. The personnel are friendly and willing to engage patrons about the history of the Boston tea party. The only downside was an alcoholic drink we tried called the Nor'Easter which was supposed to be a "Dark & Stormy" spin off. It tasted like sour ginger beer. The food and the teas were great and it was a great way to end the Tea Party museum. read more

For 4.99$ you can try the teas thrown over board at the Boston Tea Party !!!! You don't have to go to the museum to go to the tea room. There are actors in time period clothing who are so fun and friendly! There are revolutionary board games and great views!!! I would go there again and again if I could. The tea room is connected to the Boston Tea Party Ship and Museum. The tours end here but you can probably enter without the tour if you choose. They have a great "tea sample" in which you get all you wish to taste of about 6 different hot teas. There is signage explaining the teas and their history. They also have pastries and Boston Cream Pie. The staff behind the counter was a bit grumpy but the staff in the tea room keeping everything nice were very kind. They have old games that could have been played in the early days of our country's founding. You can play these for free with your group while you enjoy the tea. This ended up being one of the highlights of our family trip and we fell in love with one of the games. We asked (had we not, we would not have known as they are not pushing it as a sale) and found out that game was for sale in the gift shop. We bought it and have played it many times with others since. Take some time to go here, relax, play some unique games, and enjoy the tea and snacks. Good times! read more
