(note, this brewery is listed twice on Yelp, the address is the same, but one has a suite number. I tried to flag Yelp to merge these two, but they did not. Please do the same, kindly reviewer, and maybe we can get these merged) Outstanding! This is an emerald in a gravel pit. It's in a suburban area of San Diego with barely any breweries. Lucky for me, it's now one of my favorite breweries in San Diego! The setting and vibe is much more moody and intimate than your typical brewery. In fact, I was initially a tad put off and wondered if I was in the right place. Make no mistake though, pull up to the bar and browse the tap list and you'll realize that this place does indeed have big, brewery-energy. The taps are made up primarily of crisp lagers and tropical IPAs. These happen to be my two favorite types of beer (and they are rarely seen together like this at breweries) The food is also fantastic, the Nashville chicken sandwich is not to be missed. The bartender is friendly and knows his stuff when it comes to both the food and the beer selections. This place is so good it's worth a special trip up into the hills!

We stopped into Abnormal on a hot day after golf and the cool and dim atmosphere was exactly what we needed!! Service was quick and thoughtful, we found the food to be really good and the drinks just ok. The carbonara was creamy and I loved the thicker noodles. Our friends got the wings and burger and said it was delicious and my husband ordered the poutine with a short rib on top. The poutine was everything he dreamed of. I also ordered the sour slushee and found it to just be ok, and I'm a big sour fan! This was a nice spot and mellow, but otherwise a bit out of the way for it to be a normal hang.

This was my first time in and we had a lot of fun. The beer selection is great though they do run out of some limited brews. Our server was great and I was very impressed by the food both for taste and visual design of plates. My personal fave of the night was the beet goat cheese app and the seafood sandwich (think lobster roll with all the things). Ambience was nice and with a reservation it was easy to navigate. I imagine outside patio is great when warmer. A good evening overall for beer lovers and great bites to go with!

Abnormal has struck the very hard balance of a nice restaurant with a casual brewery vibe. The beer is top notch with quality ingredients. The chef has done a great job picking out dishes that are casual for a brewery but made with nice touches. Highly recommend this place. It's perfect catching up with a friend over a beer, a work event, or family gathering. My only complaint is that the Birra dip was $22 and came with only 7 chips. It was a tiny app. My Rueben was $17 and much larger

Woah!!!! Banger alert!!! Got a flight and partook in the food too. Its a menu and sort of fine-dining feel (and pricing) to it. Luckily, the mussels were absolutely aces and the beer I tried was JAWDROPPING. Their lighter selections were so well done and unique. Alter Reality and Abnormally German are a MUST!!! Balanced sweetness, pilsner goodness. Their Hazy, American IPA were very reminiscent of old Burgeon, like a supercitrus but still good. Its close to my house and I should come more often, I had tried their beers before but never been to the location. If you still go to Stone, then its time to step it up and go here. The ambiance is legit. Customer service was good too.

Abnormal Brewing has been on my radar for a while. I felt very fortunate to get an opportunity to try one of their beers over the weekend. I was not disappointed in the slightest with the beer selection that Steve and I had. We had the Drift Away which is a Coconut Cream Ale. We love cream ales and feel like we don't get to try them often enough. The flavor in this is fantastic. Yes, there is plenty of coconut flavor to this beer and with that some sweetness but nothing that was too overpowering in the sweet. Perfect balance and the creaminess feature kicking in made for a very enjoyable beer! Definitely recommend!

Came here last week with my staff for a dinner meeting. It took few minutes for our table to be set as we are a large group. Ordered... Chicken wings Brussels sprouts Garlic noodles Tater tots Poke tacos Seasonal fish Beyond Berger Short rib Succotash Salmon NY Strip Chicken Everything was delicious as everyone finished their food. I was glad that the menu was extensive enough to feed both the vegetarians and carnivores in our group. They had great choices of wine and beers that we enjoyed with our meal. This is a great place for small or large groups. We'll definitely be back when we do another dinner meeting.

Garlic chicken its a must. The sprouts was yummy. Mussel was yummy. My drink is kayla something sorry I can't remember. But it was good.

I'm from Hawaii and we stayed hilton. My husband like a brewery alcohol. It was a awesome experience we have the food and amazing. The ambiance was nice inside was so cute rhe bathroom is clean. The service was fast. Good thing we are early cuz maybe like 20mins boom it was busy and my server was a little bit stress. But they have a good teamwork so it was a smooth dinner for us.

I want to start by saying the beer was very tasty but I can't speak for the food as we stopped in before dinner plans. I wanted love this place more but when we walked in we were taken back by the sticky floors. At first we thought you know accidents happen but the longer we sat in the restaurant the more filth we noticed. This place needs a major cleaning! All the fans were dirty which is mainly alarming because they were prepping food near by. Most things were coated in dust including the lighting. The two women next to us thought there was a animal trapped in the ceiling but the staff "reassured" them that it was just leftover fiberglass from ripping the insulation out. I'm no expert but I'd think you would want to remove that completely, if your choice, due to serving food and drinks. The staff was kind and as I said the beer was good but not sure I'd return.

    Are kids allowed Here?

Yes, except for at the bar I believe. There is no open area for kids to run around though, if that's what your looking for. Abnormal had a more upscale, sit down lunge area and restaurant.

Is the tasting room dog friendly and/or outdoor seating that is ok to have a dog?

    Only on patio or deck

They have a great drink selection and one of my girlfriend's fave is some apricot bevvy that is just the perfect summer unwind drink! I have to give a special shoutout to Gavin for going above and beyond the last visit. I brought my dog and asked the gentleman at the front if they have unseasoned meat that I can give the pup. He said they had unseasoned chicken so I got a side. We went upstairs for seating and shortly after got our food. The chicken however, was definitely seasoned. Definitely not giving that to a dog. We checked back with the server upstairs (which was Gavin) who immediately told us that yes, it's definitely seasoned. Since I ordered food, I decided to try and finish my avocado taco (delish!), before going downstairs to sort things. In this time Gavin had gone out of his way to get some unseasoned carne asada and brought a healthy portion of it, remembered our table and brought it to us. My girlfriend spoke to him, I hadn't so for him to not only find us upstairs (no number) but he corrected the confusion/mistake. Needless to say, my dog was also very pleased! The vibes are casual.
