We were informed upfront that there would be a long wait for the Gulf oysters due to the 50-cent special, which was understandable since it was packed during rodeo season. While waiting, we ordered happy hour appetizers, drinks, and a few items from the main menu. The appetizers were delicious and easily the highlight of the meal, though the cocktails were just okay. The oysters arrived after about an hour, but they were gritty with noticeable sand and small shell fragments. Even during busy service, oysters should be properly cleaned -- it was disappointing to have to spit out shell with nearly every bite. I overheard the manager mention to another table that the owner was helping shuck, which shows effort, but quality control seemed to suffer. The manager checked on nearly every table around us (including those seated after us) but never stopped by ours. Since we weren't checked on again until the oysters arrived, there wasn't an opportunity to adjust the timing of our entrées. They came out shortly after and were unfortunately mediocre; we only had a few bites before boxing them up. Overall, I'd return for happy hour and à la carte appetizers, but the full dinner experience fell short this time.
French restaurants aren't hard to come by in Houston but GOOD FRENCH restaurants are another story! A'Bouzy was just that, divine in atmosphere, tasty in all aspects! We had the caviar potato bites to begin with and my main course was the escargot (best I've had in Houston)! We celebrated a fellow friend's bday; although it was late, we were given exceptional service.
Came here for brunch a couple of times and we had reservations, which I'd definitely recommend. Parking is basically nonexistent. There's valet, but if you're thinking you're going to casually find a spot, think again. We ordered a good spread: crab fingers, baked oysters, wine, plenty of drinks, and the seafood pot pie. Food has been solid across the board. Nothing disappointed, and everything tasted well-executed. My main issue is the space. The restaurant is small af and the tables are extremely close together. It creates a level of intimacy with neighboring tables that I personally could do without. If you value a little breathing room while you eat and talk, that's something to keep in mind. Overall, the food and drinks were good and it's a nice spot for brunch, but the tight seating and parking situation take away from the experience a bit. I'd still go back, just with the right expectations.
I had a great experience at A'Bouzy this weekend. The restaurant was having its periodic special of dozen gulf oysters for $3. The kitchen was backed up and we were told - so we ordered two dozen at the onset of brunch. There is a limit of one dozen per person for the special - after which the oysters are full price. On the website, escargot was listed on the menu, however, it was not listed on the brunch menu. We asked our waiter, Isidro, and he checked with the chef - and they were able to prepare the item which we enjoyed. We also had the French onion soup - it was very flavorful. I felt like the portion was small, however, personally, for soup, this is actually my preferance, as I find that French onion soup can be quite filling when I want other things. It came with a small salad. To end the meal, we had the seafood pot pie, another recommendation from Isidro. What a treat! Additionally we had two bottles of very reasonably priced champagne. We came in for the oyster special and stayed for the great brunch. Note: There is no bread service - but a popcorn starter which I find fun and a bit different. It was a lively scene. Lots of small groups that appeared to be celebrating something. Really a fun/casual vibe. I really appreciated the attentiveness of our waiter.
I visited A'Bouzy with a group of eight ladies, and we decided to try their champagne and caviar pairing; it did not disappoint. Everything was already set up when we arrived, which made the whole experience flow smoothly. This was my first-time trying caviar, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but they paired it so well. It came with mini pancakes, cream cheese, red onions, chopped eggs, and capers, and each caviar was matched perfectly with a different champagne. Our server was wonderful and attentive. We also ordered the large charcuterie board, and it was amazing. The cocktails and wines were really good too. They offer valet parking for just $6, which was convenient. It was a very classy and elegant experience in which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I visited A'Bouzy for the first time and had such a great experience. It was a busy night and the bar was packed, so our table wasn't ready when we arrived. We waited at the bar and grabbed drinks, which made the wait easier. Once we sat down, the night really picked up. I ordered the deviled eggs, the marinated 5 spice shrimp pasta, the diver scallops with risotto, and the donuts. Every dish was delicious and full of flavor. The scallops and risotto were the standout for me. The service was amazing. The food was amazing. The drinks were amazing. The whole place had really good vibes even with how busy it was. There is valet and there is also street parking around the back. I would definitely come back again!
Wow am I late to the party but I finally visited Abouzy! This is a sibling restaurant to succulent. It features a beautiful interior with a outdoor option for seating. I was raining on the day I went so indoor seating for me! This was my friend and my first time here and it just so happened that the oysters were on happy hour! I ordered some despite not liking raw oysters because they were 50 cents! And ya know what, I liked it! Our waiter was very helpful in helping us navigate the menu. I ordered off the restaurants weeks menu and my friend ordered off the standard menu. Now my dish, that I ordered I did not love. But my friends dish the seafood pot pie was fire! Wow I should have ordered that instead if was really good. We also ordered drinks and they were reasonably priced and perfectly prepared. Now although I did not love my dish I would definitely come back due to the good service!
Amazing Seafood! Made reservations ahead of time on open table and was able to get seated right away. They serve a bag of complimentary popcorn as well. For drinks, I got the non-alcoholic prickly pear with tajin on the rim. It was actually really refreshing and fruity. I can see it being paired well with tequila as well. Starters, we got a dozen of the east coast raw oysters. They were quite fresh and came with all the fixings like cocktail sauce, vinegar and etc. Also got the blue crab fingers, which was deliciously drenched in some garlic butter. Good amount too, maybe 20 of them + side of french bread. And ordered the moules & frites aka mussels. The white wine butter sauce was light and had nice flavors as well. For my entree, i'm glad i got the seafood pot pie. Crust was nice and airy and inside was filled with so much flavors. Heavily seasoned and came with shrimp, crawfish and redfish! All cooked very well. I like the accompany of the side of salad and bread as well. Used that bread to dip in the blue crab butter sauce! Waiter was friendly and checked up on us a good amount of times. Plenty of seating indoors and i believe outdoors as well. Restrooms - clean Parking - Valet $6, they accept Credit Card as well Overall a nice seafood brunch spot!
Great spot for a patio brunch. Can't beat bubbles and delicious food. Definitely feels like a celebratory spot, especially when they pop your champ bottle and yell "A'Bouzy!". Lots of fun. Helpful and friendly staff that is open to gibing their recommendations. We started with some spritzes and their breakfast breads board, then moved on to the mimosa service and some eggs/protein. All in all, will certainly be back to enjoy the expansive patio on one of the rare Houston nice weather days. Parking - valet or street.
I enjoyed a lovely brunch at A'Bouzy this past Sunday. We surprisingly were able to walk in on Easter Sunday and snag a covered table on the patio with no reservation. Our waiter was very prompt once we were seated and attentive throughout brunch. A'Bouzy has a bag of popcorn on the table to snack on while enjoying the view and waiting for the meal to arrive. Which is a nice touch. For drinks we ordered and an aperol spritz and Irish coffee. Both drinks were made perfectly! For food we enjoyed deviled eggs, the baked oysters, crab cake and French toast. Our food came out fairly quick which we were very happy about my favorite item was probably the crab cake as it has so much flavor and the hollandaise paired very nicely with it.
I'm at A'Bouzy A LOT. Every first Monday they have a dozen oysters for $.50 each (you can only get a dozen per person) and while gulf oysters aren't my preference ever anywhere, at A'Bouzy they're cleaned perfectly and they're a proper size. Those big boogery filthy gulf oysters are NOT what's on special here! Champagne is a must. Duh. The charcuterie....ima go crazy with it every time and finish wishing I had more. I also order the daily special (2 adult size entrees that change daily, and a bottle of wine from $39-$69 depending on the daily special) very often. I've had brunch, dinner, and happy hour (only available on Thursday's with a different menu of offerings every week) at A'Bouzy and I have NEVER left unsatisfied.

We came to Abouzy for the first time to try during HRW. Upon entering the ambiance was very nice and friendly. The service was great, our waiter and his co worker, Carlos were very attentive and helpful. They helped us choose amazing dishes and cocktails. Their food was a solid 10/10. This restaurant had a great ambiance and great service! The waitress was very tentative to all of our needs and she was personable and funny. The appetizer was fresh popcorn and that was different but so addicting delicious!! The shrimp basket was also very very good and the breading was seasoned well and not salty at all. I ended up getting the Shrimp Po'Boy with Onion Strings and baby it was scrumptious!! The bread was so soft and the shrimp flavorful -writing this makes me want to order it right now. Walked in to the amazing Holiday decor! Drink selection was outstanding, I tried a novel one with cucumber in it. It was fair, I ordered a lemon drop for round 2 it didn't disappoint. The shrimp appetizer was delicious, crab cake was good, pasta good. Our service was below average and slow, it wasn't that busy even-though it was a Sunday afternoon. A'Bouzy has a cute brunch atmosphere. It's most definitely an aesthetic place to come eat and take pictures. I noticed that there is a good amount of reviews that have complaints about how crowded it gets during brunch hours on the weekends. I came to A'Bouzy on a Monday afternoon where it was quite empty. There were only a couple of tables occupied at the time and did not have the loud music mentioned in other reviews. My greatest complaint is how slow the service was even though the restaurant was barely occupied. It took about 40 minutes for our first starter to come out and about 15-20 minutes between the rest of the dishes. The food itself is average. The only dish that stood out to me was the Blue Crab fingers. Otherwise the food is just okay. I don't think I would choose to come here myself in the future, but wouldn't complain if someone else were to suggest dining here. read more

I knew it would be crowded on Mothers Day - but this was the BEST Mother's Day experience we could have hoped for. The ambiance was fantastic - the fun traditions were something we all loved - and the food was out of this world! It wasn't too pricy (over $700 for 6 of us) .... And that included a bottle of Veuve. Comfortable and classy environment. Service was excellent. We went for Houston Food Restaurant week and they offered a few selections of the menu. Redfish over orzo pasta was an absolute hit. The orzo pasta was creamy and cheesy. The salted caramel cheesecake had good flavor but was a bit dense. I ended up taking it home. First time here and was very pleased. Valet is $6 and you have to pay before entering the restaurant. They take cash/credit. We made reservations for two and were seated immediately after checking in. We chose to sit on the patio. The inside ambiance and decor was very cute and sophisticated. Within a minute of being seated our waiter greeted us and began to provide phenomenal service. He made great recommendations and the food came out within a timely manner. For drinks we ordered a coffee $6 and a French 75. A bottle of water and popcorn were also served as we waited for our food. As an appetizer we had the blue crab fingers $25 which were delicious and full of flavor. We asked for extra bread and were charged $1 for two slices. Our waiter suggested us try the French bread, but did not disclose the price. We received two French loaves of bread for a charged of $5. I had the 18hr Braised Pork Belly & Eggs $24 and my friend had the eggs Benedict $15. Both dishes were great especially the pork belly. Our bill was $92.42. We thoroughly enjoyed the service, food, and atmosphere. We cannot wait to go back and try other menu items 10/10. read more

My friend made a reservation (via another friend) at A'Bouzy for my birthday brunch. We got there at 1pm, valet parked the car ($6/car) and checked in at the desk. There was some confusion from the ladies as we checked in but they rectified it pretty quickly and managed to keep calm the whole time. That was a major plus for me because if it's one thing I can't stand, it's a frantic hostess/host, who makes a scene about something they can easily fix. We got seated outside on the patio and our waiter brought over the menus. He didn't explain the need for the iPad until we asked him and throughout the whole experience, he wasn't attentive at all. We had to flag several other waiters to bring us drinks and water. The manager actually had to step in (who was very kind) to assist us. That's really the reason for the 4 stars and when we brought it to the waiter's attention, he was very defensive versus just apologizing and keeping it moving. As for the food, I got the shrimp tacos in lettuce wrap which I enjoyed thoroughly. We had a good time at our table but A'Bouzy isn't that exciting. I miss the A'bouzy pre covid. The menu was much better than it is now. TBH I had my heart set on the shrimp tacos I had in the past, but that was no longer on the menu. The Moscow mule I had was good, but the portion wasn't. My fiancé and I enjoyed the pastries. Previously valet parking was complimentary, but now it's like 3-5 bucks. I'm surprised I haven't already reviewed this place. I love A'Bouzy! I've been here several times for brunch, and always get the Blackened Shrimp Breakfast Tacos-- DELICIOUS. I've also been for dinner and their Stuffed Salmon is to die for. I was expecting some standard salmon and was happily surprised. But my real favorite are their Baked Oysters. This is a bold statement... but they're the best oysters I've had in Houston. And I've tried many. The oysters are available at all meals-- treat yourself. Also, love the complimentary popcorn they give each table. Great friendly service. Gets busy at brunch, so make a reservation if you can. Service was good... greet as I walked in and server was very polite. Management checked in on us which always a nice touch. I liked the decorations. And they have a place for selfies and group picks. Not really a kid friendly environment. This is a place to come and dine with the adults. The yelling every a bottle is opened was cute the first few times and then after I was over it. And dining area does get loud when crowded. Parking is valet or street. Keep in mind you are also competing with the valet for street spots too. Also when you sit it a table near the wine, there maybe and occasionally reach for a bottle. The server brought water and popcorn (lightly salted... nice treat). I ordered the deviled eggs (good flavor tiny kick... too bad bacon lardons was not fried like a chicharron) and the Moules and Frites (white wine butter and herbs were so delicious, unfortunately some of the mussels were over cooked and stuck to the shell and one that did not open. My friends threw me a lovely bridal shower brunch here! Despite it being a busy Saturday, service by our server Uzi was excellent. For appetizers, we ordered the tuna watermelon sashimi and the beef carpaccio. Both apps were fresh-tasting and I loved the bits of caviar on the sashimi. For main dishes, we ordered The heirloom tomato galette & egg, corned beef brisket hash, and brioche French toast. The galette was my favorite because the crust was extremely buttery and flaky. Their corned beef hash had a nice kick to it which I enjoyed, but unfortunately the French toast was only average. The champagnes we selected were delicious, and the semi-private room in which we sat in was just right for our party of 15. Really great brunch spot! Came here for my friend's birthday (no birthday freebies, unfortunately) and really enjoyed the meal. The service was great and the food was even better. They give free popcorn to the table and have an extensive menu for brunch, lunch, cocktails, wine, and more! I ordered the Aperol Spritz, which was light and refreshing, and the Blackened Shrimp Tacos, which were so delicious. The vibe of the restaurant was also nice; we sat on the shaded patio, but both the indoor and outdoor seating options seemed classy and fun. The unofficial dress code is light dressy--I wore a short floral dress and fit right in. At first the service was great, the waiter recommended some appetizers and drinks which were delicious (the ones we got anyways) they didn't bring us one of our appetizers but they did take it off the check in the end. Food and drink wise everything was great. The service started dwindling off after our full order was taken. After we ate our entrées, we asked for a dessert menu. Which we did not get and it took a while to track down our waiter which we never saw again as we got switched to another server but was not informed of the switch. Parking is not great but they do have valet which is only 6 dollars so not a bad price to pay for valet. Amazing brunch, perfect if you a fun vibe. We got champagne bottles and the waiters would come by and say abouzy with you when they popped it! The service was amazing in general, very friendly and one persons enteee came literally only five minutes after the others, we didn't complain and they comped it for free! Oyster were small but to be expected because they were not in season. The spinach overwhelmed them due to their size. Scallops was a little salty but mushroom risotto is delicious. Good food and great service. The waiters are constantly present and checking in. I came for Founder's day and had a great time with my sisters. I do recommend having reservations. Self parking is limited to what you can find on the side street, but they do have valet. Their theme is champagne! They love shouting "Abouzy!" With every bottle popping. Of course with any brunch, mimosas are a staple and I do like that they offer several different flavors. My favorite dish I ate was the Cajun popcorn shrimp appetizer. I could eat that as a main dish. The coating is crispy and seasoned! The deviled eggs were also good. For desert I do recommend their bread pudding! My friend let me taste hers and it was the perfect touch of sweetness. I didn't like the donuts I ordered. They were very cakey and dense. Cute place located in The River Oaks area. Self parking was very limited, but valet was reasonably priced. The inside is cute but compact. I sat inside, but there was a large outside area. The background music was good. Our server Leonard was very attentive. We had the blueberry muffins which were ok. Without the icing which came on the side, they would have been bland. A'bouzy has easily become my favorite brunch spot -- I go just about every weekend now. The staff are so lovely and kind, always remembering my favorite food and drink orders. I love to sit outside on the patio with an Aperol spritz, which always tastes the best at A'bouzy. Cute brunch spot in town. Great for when you want a fun meal and some bubbly drinks! The ambiance is what makes it as its well decorated and chamoange everywhere you look. There is a forced valet for 6 dollars, which i do prefer free parking. Menu is mainly fully of seafood dishes and pastires. It's not great for anyone with food allergies, which is my biggest complaint. They also have a really large drink list of not just wines but fun brunch cocktails. Definitely a houston flare to the food, and everything we saw looked great. I had a truffle frittata wmthat came with large polices of truffle and my friend had the crab salad. Both were delicous. Tried A'Bouzy for brunch and it was a cool place. I got the seafood pot pie and it wass massive! It came with a side salad and a fresh baked piece of bread (it was sooo good). The pot pie was decent, it could have used a bit more seasoning but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. The service was incredible, they were all very great. Book more in advanced of the date and time that you want, or call when it's not their busy meal hours (10a-11a, 2p-5p). If it's not avail on opentable, it's not likely to be available there since they have the same information you do.

The interior makes you feel like you need to be dress nicely, but I don't believe there is an official dress code. Our party was dressed very casual when we visited and had no issues!

I went on Thursday, 6:30. I did have reservations, but there were plenty of tables available. If you really want outdoor seating during these nice nights, I would make a reservation just to be sure.
